[OVERVIEW]
* Urshifu-S is one of the best offensive Pokemon Fighting teams have access to due to its amazing Dark typing paired with the automatic critting Wicked Blow, and powerful Protect-breaking ability in Unseen Fist.
* Its access to STAB Sucker Punch also makes it one of Fighting's best revenge killers and helps check a multitude of Psychic and Ghost-types like Latias, Alolan Raichu, Gengar and Dragapult.
* Unfortunately like most fighting types, it is susceptible to being checked by fairy-types, only now its both its STAB moves are resisted by that typing, making Pokemon like Clefable, Tapu Fini and Tapu Koko more dangerous.
* Urshifu's lackluster special defense also means that it will have a hard time switching into any special attacks, making predicting against Pokemon like Alakazam and Latios very risky.
[SET]
name: Bulk Up
move 1: Bulk Up
move 2: Wicked Blow
move 3: Close Combat
move 4: Sucker Punch
item: Black Glasses
ability: Unseen Fist
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
[SET COMMENTS]
* Bulk Up allows Urshifu-S to setup in front of passive Pokemon like Ferrothorn or Sableye and become even more of a threat.
* After a Bulk up, Wicked Blow can OHKO or 2HKO almost every non-resist in the metagame, even with screens up thanks to its guaranteed crit chance.
* Close Combat rounds out Urshifu-S's STAB coverage and can still pack a massive punch against the Dark-types that try to switch into a Wicked Blow.
*Sucker Punch is the last move which allows Urshifu-S to act as a powerful priority user thanks to it having STAB on the move.
* Black Glasses powers up Urshifu-S's Dark-type moves and allows them to hit opposing walls like Toxapex even harder on the switch.
* This paired with Maximum Speed and Attack investment allow Urshifu-S to hit as hard and fast as possible.
* Urshifu-S's wallbreaking potential allows sweepers like Hawlucha, Terrakion, and Keldeo to come in later and clean up the rest of the opposing team.
* Despite being strong, Urshifu-S still needs proper support in order to be extremely effective due to its slightly underwhelming speed and pitiful special bulk.
* Teammates like Cobalion and Virizion allow this to happen thanks to their respective access to Stealth Rock to wear down opposing Pokemon, and screens to allow Urshifu-S to take more hits to set up Bulk Up and dish out more damage.
* Keldeo also helps Urshifu-S by stallbreaking opposing walls like Toxapex and Mandibuzz so that they are at the very least weakened the next time Urshifu-S comes in.
* Terrakion is a great offensive partner as it can remove troublesome Flying-types like Zapdos and Tornadus-T who could be potential checks to Urshifu-S thanks to its low speed.
* Buzzwole is another great partner thanks to its ability to take powerful physical hits from pokemon like Tapu Bulu and revenge kill with ease. It also synergizes well with Urshifu-S as its Bug-typing allows it to resist Fighting-type attacks, which Urshifu-S is weak to.
[SET]
name: Choice Band
move 1: Wicked Blow
move 2: Close Combat
move 3: Sucker Punch
move 4: Iron Head / Stone Edge
item: Choice Band
ability: Unseen Fist
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
[SET COMMENTS]
* With its powerful guaranteed crit Wicked Blow and protect-ignoring Unseen Fist ability, Urshifu-S can smash balance teams and tear apart slower offensive Pokemon with ease.
* Its coverage is further helped with its other STAB move in Close Combat, which helps it beat opposing Dark-types that would try to take the Wicked Blow.
* Sucker Punch becomes an extremely strong priority move capable of picking off faster offensive pokemon like Alolan Raichu and Gengar.
* Iron Head allows Urshifu-S to catch Fairy-types like Galarian Weezing and Togekiss on the switch who otherwise completely wall its STAB moves. * Stone Edge is also an option for hitting Flying-types like Mandibuzz or Fire-types like Torkoal and Rotom-Heat for a good amount of damage.
* In order to be as effective as possible, Urshifu-S runs max Attack and max Speed EVs with a Jolly nature so that it hits as hard and fast as possible while also outspeeding the ever-threatening Mimikyu and OHKOing it after its Disguise is broken.
* Urshifu-S's ability to break apart defensive cores helps its offensive teammates immensely as it allows them to come in later and wreak havoc upon the opposing team.
* Hawlucha and Terrakion are great examples of teammates it helps as they can get walled by Pokemon like Aegislash and Toxapex, Pokemon that get OHKOd or extremely weakened by Urshifu-S's power.
* Despite its power, Urshifu-S does still need support in order to be effective, which is why Cobalion and Virizion are good partners for it.
* Cobalion can slow down threats with Thunder Wave, wear down opposing Pokemon with Stealth Rock, and pivot Urshifu-S in with Volt Switch while also forcing out most of the Fairy-types that threaten to KO it.
* Virizion provides support with screens and its access to Taunt (which Cobalion also has), which stops opposing walls from recovering their health when Urshifu-S is switched in, making it even harder to deal with.
* Offensively, Keldeo is a great teammate as well as it also stallbreaks most of the walls that would try to take a hit from Urshifu-S and blow them away with its Calm Mind boosted STAB attacks.

Other Options

Fighting
------------
* Choice Scarf is an option with U-turn over Sucker Punch to help Urshifu-S check Pokemon like Tapu Lele who ignore Sucker Punch due to Psychic Terrain and also commonly run Choice Scarf themselves. This set however makes Urshifu-S lose a lot of its power, and it becomes significantly weaker as a result of that.
Checks and Counters
===============
Fighting
-------------
**Revenge Killers**: Due to its Speed, Urshifu-S finds itself being outpaced often by base 100 Pokemon like Celebi and both forms of Zapdos. This paired with its many exploitable weaknesses to common types and lackluster special bulk make Urshifu-S incredibly weak to special revenge killers who don't mind taking a Sucker Punch.
**Status**: Like most fighting types, Urshifu-S is heavily crippled by any form of status. Most notably, burn makes Urshifu-S incredibly less potent as a Pokemon and wears it down slowly over the course of the match. Paralysis makes its already low speed even more problematic and poison wears it down heavily over the course of the match with no way of getting that lost health back.
**Fighting-types**: Strangely enough, Urshifu's own fighting-type teammates are often its best checks as they resist Wicked Blow and some even resist Close Combat as well. Buzzwole and Galarian Zapdos are the most potent examples, but Keldeo and Urshifu-R are also very good checks to Urshifu-S as well.
**Fairy-types**: Fairy types as mentioned before resist both of Urshifu-S's STAB moves, and hit back hard with their Fairy STAB move. Clefable and Galarian-Weezing are the most notable examples.
