USM OU Teambuilding Competition
Rules:
  1. Entry submission: Post team in the thread itself with import and explanation in hide tags. Please, when you are submitting a team, try not to slash movesets / items in the importable. The finished product should be the build you are most confident in. It is fine to do minor set changes throughout the week, but if you want to give an option for one of your Pokemon, note it in the Explanation instead.
  2. Disputes / Copying: Obviously, there is potential for disputes over copying or people making similar entries. In general, if your team entry has the same Pokémon and similar move sets to an earlier entry, it will be disqualified. If anyone tries to abuse this by reserving an early post in the thread for their entry, please bring it to my attention and they'll be disqualified. If you are caught doing this there is a high possibility you will not be allowed to post in the building stage for an indefinite amount of time.
  3. Discussion and team changes: One part of the process is to have discussion about the teams and the core. While I'd like to keep this from being a speedy RMT thread, suggestions of improvements to entered teams are allowed. In the interests of fairness though, I'd ask that any suggestions don't involve anything more major than move set changes, and that if you've already submitted a team you won't change the Pokémon in it. Basically, just be sure that you're happy with the team before you send it in.
  4. Sprites: Please use one of the three sprite options below:
  5. Make sure the team you post are according to the Pokémon, Core or Theme of the Week: or else you’ll obviously get disqualified.
  6. Voting Phase: you can only vote for one team and that team can’t be your own.
  7. Format: please use the format below, otherwise I have the rights to reject your submission. Putting content in hide tags saves us a lot of time.

This is a squad I built a few days ago. It's based around the core of Serperior and M-Heracross which I thought was pretty cool because of how Serperior can paralyze Tornadus-T, and how M-Heracross can break through fat stuffs that annoy Serperior. I knew that, with that core, I would need a few things in order to make it work. I would need another solid way to break through Stall because Unaware Clefable (which is seen on the most common variant of Stall) can wall M-Heracross, a solid form of hazard-removing, as well as a solid defensive core that could take care of common offensive threats including M-Alakazam, M-Latios, M-Lopunny, Heatran and Tornadus-T. Heatran + Landorus-T were the two mons I chose next because this core gave me hazards control, a stallbreaker, a form of speed control, as well as some useful resistances. After that, I felt I was missing a Greninja check, a Fire-type check, as well as a M-Lopunny check which is why I chose Toxapex and made it Iapapa in order to not get overwhelmed by physical attackers. As my last slot, I chose Celesteela which completed my defensive core and gave me a solid check to M-Alakazam, as well as a bunch of other things.

This team has the tools to perform well in most matchups but there are still threats that are going to annoy this team a lot. M-Medicham, M-Mawile and Zygarde are some examples of pokemons this team doesn't match-up well against. Hope you like the team!

I wanted to make a team around SD Subzero Slammer Weavile + Magnezone because it's a fairly intriguing core to me, as they compliment each other very well and this is what I came up with. Fast Helmet Lando-T+Bulu+Scizor provide the necessary defensive backbone for the team, checking key threats to the core, which has pretty shitty defensive capabilities. I have no fucking idea why why there's a Pelipper, so don't ask, it just fucking fits somehow. I'm sure you could throw something like a Scarf Latios over it, but that's fucking boring.

Icium Z Kyurem + Bulky seed Hawlucha

I built a team based with my results in ladder, using solid stallbreakers like magma tran and icium z kyurem, with a outstanding 200 base power + stab. That team is a nightmare to a rival offensive and defensive cores with a surprises sets, like rock polish diancie. Taunt in Koko and Tran allow me break things like Clefable, Toxapex and things who bother the main sweepers. This bulky Hawlucha set allow me to setup swords dance a lot of times, with +1 in def due electric seed and high investiment in sp def, allow me to break HO teams easily. Well, I focused in build a team with a potential to break defensive and offensive cores using a kyurem as wallbreaker.

Merry Xmas, Smogon. n_n

Just another Tapu Koko+Kyurem Black team

The kyurem black+koko core is tried so I made a team. Kyurem black and koko do all the breaking, heatran+landorus+bulu form a nice defensive core and kartana and koko can both really annoy offense. Koko can volt switch out on bulky grass types (and has hp fire to lure ferrothorn) to bring in kyurem black to fire off a strong hit. Landorus and Tapu Bulu were added for a basic defensive core, Landorus as a blanket check to physical attackers and tapu bulu for special attackers. The speed investment on landorus is for outspeeding heatran and adamant lando. Unfortunately, Tapu Bulu weakens Lando's earthquakes but they still form a great defensive core. Utility heatran was added because the team really needed a steel type and a fire resist and heatran can also do a little bit of wallbreaking itself. Heatran also appreciates the passive recovery and weakening of earthquakes provided by Bulu. Kartana is the main revenge killer and the defogger and has Bulu to boost it's leaf blades.

I'm not sure if I'm on time. If so, I would like to share this team in which I had to choose KyuB for the theme of Christmas. I had thought of a kind of HO monochrome with Pinsir shiny to fit better. I wanted it to be solid and different. Well, there is not much to mention, I play with Fini that protects all of status above all mons that are victories like my mega, Greninja or KyuB. Zone was chosen to fit well those terrain of Lele by the special side with AV and trap Steels. Chomp is predictable since that is where I carry SR and spikes ninja specs. I have priority as a breakaway to eliminate threats.

Btw, kinda sad no one built around Mamoswine ;-; either way, voting ends Friday, December 29th, 7PM BRST (GMT -2).

reasoning: Team C is clearly the best but exploudit wants to bully me and not let me vote for the best team. Keldeo, fini and garchomp are all unmons so I'm not going to touch those teams. Rp diancie and magnet koko are unsets as well so bop.

Congrats for Toanyone for winning with Team E! It will be added to the OP in 2018 :)
:Round 21:
Mega Charizard Y

Mega Charizard X was already done in v2, but it's Y brother was forgotten thanks to the Dugtrio ban making this Pokémon a lot worse, can you still make it work on a solid team though? Deadline is Tuesday, January 2nd, 7PM BRST (GMT -2).

Yeah there's really nothing special to this team, it's just the average fire breaker + tapu lele since they naturally have good synergy because the fire breaker of choice can abuse Steel-types and beat them for Tapu Lele. I decided to use a solid defensive back bone consisting of Magearna + Landorus-T as they provide me with a Steel-type, VoltTurn core to bring in Charizard Y or Tapu Lele, Ground-type immunity, and Stealth Rock. Then I decided to add Mantine for its ability to check Blacephalon and Defog away Stealth Rock for Charizard Y. Lastly I needed a cleaner that could deal with Water-types well thus i chose Kartana.

Team build with adri98 around Zardy + tyranitar band. then we added some pokemon that went with. Latios is here for defog and check toxapex. Lando classic for Sr. Keldeo and kartana are 2 win con. normally it's kartana scarf but i changed to pass stall. this team is really effective but I do not think it can go very high in the ladder.

ps: lele 6-0

The First Partner for Zard y i added was heatran. This Heatran allows you to lure in toxapex, mantine, and a few other things that take on zard y. Bulu was the next addition to help fix the weakness to offensive waters and tapu koko. I Added Kartana as a form of speed control and hazard removal.i added pex for a pivot to opposing zard y, a decent zard x pivot in grassy terrain, and a secondary answer to ash gren. The Last mon added was lando for rocks, a zard x answer(even though in the sun you don't take flare blitz well), and check to opposing skystrike lando.
