ATTENTION ALL FACTORY EMPLOYEES!!!!!! This is your foreman Mantis D. Pickletun :Scyther: here with a NEW ORDER specifically requested by the "UU Planet":

UU Planet Association on January 12 1947 said:
We at the UU Planet hereby decree that an order of 6 Factory Made Pokemon shall be made to perfection, for our inhabitants to use across the Universe.
This Fabled Ladder Factory has never declined an order, so we are set to work immediately!!!!!!111 Here is what we need to do:

  • We will be laying out 6 Pokemon with pre-designed sets.
  • You will use one, some, or all of these on a team.
  • You will carry these Pokemon to the back of the factory up the Official UU Ladder
  • As you continue to climb the Official UU Ladder with these pokemon on your back, you will gain points depending on a combination of your highest peak ELO and the factory Pokemon that you brought with you.
  • The two Employees who finish each cycle with the highest points will be named the Employees of the Week! They will also battle each other at the end of the week using all 6 Factory Pokemon to see who will earn the special ASTERISK* by their name in on the Employee of the Month board.
(more sane explanation:)

As the Foreman described - The UU Ladder Factory is a place where we have engineered the finest specimens for you to battle with! Each Battle Period, the Factory will crunch out 6 Pokemon with pre-determined sets. Your job is simple - take one two, or up to all 6 of these Pokemon and use them on a team to ladder!

HOW TO PLAY:

  • STEP 1: Post here for the Battle Period (usually about a week) with a UUBF alt (e.g. UUBF1 Mantoise)
  • STEP 2: Select the Pokemon from the list of 6 that you will be using with that alt to ladder (e.g. "I am going to use that slammin' jammin' Pyukumuku and the high flyin' Emolga set")
  • STEP 3: Build a team to ladder with, using the Pokemon sets you stated you would use. You cannot change anything about the sets. You can, however, change anything else about your team to build around what you have chosen. YOU MUST USE ALL POKEMON THAT YOU STATED YOU WOULD USE, SO DO NOT GO OVERBOARD UNLESS YOU ARE A PSYCHOPATH OR IT WILL BE VERY DIFFICULT FOR YOU TO BUILD ANYTHING DECENT!
  • STEP 4: Go ladder! The higher your ELO cap, the higher your score! BE SURE TO ALWAYS CLICK "SAVE REPLAY"
  • STEP 5: When you think you've laddered enough, post your replay with your Peak Ladder ELO score to confirm.
  • STEP 6: (optional): If you feel like your selections are just not working out, then make a new post, with a new alt, and change the selections for the period. Do NOT use the same alt as before, as your score is determined by what you used.

That's it! SOOOO EZ! You do NOT need to discuss anything you used, all you need to do is play! However, you are welcome to comment on the unique sets of course if you so desire.

ADDITIONAL INFO:

  • Each Pokemon you select to use grants you points.
  • The more niche/uncommon/difficult the set is, the more points to ladder with it. (Example: a set with Earthquake Celesteela could be worth +10 points, a set with Assault Vest Mimikyu could be worth +20 points).
  • Your final score for the Battle Period is your peak ladder score divided by two, plus points you accumulated based on what you used. (e.g. if your peak ladder score was 1556, and you used two combined sets for +30 points total, then your final score is 778 + 30 = 808.)
  • You must always save all your replays, and try not to hide your battles, so we can check to see if you are CHEATING or not. (This isn't super strictly enforced, but do please try to do it)
  • The replay with your peak ladder score is required to be posted to confirm what you used to reach it with your selected sets and there are no excuses for that one.
  • At the end of the Battle Period, the top two scores will be inducted into the Factory Employee of the Century board! Additionally, they will perform a Gentlepokeman's Duel using all 6 Pre-Made Sets to see who will be awarded the ASTERISK* on the board!
  • The two Employees of the Century are also awarded the opportunity to each submit a crazy unique set for the next Battle Period!

That is it! We will commence the production shortly!

Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Fire Spin
- Solar Beam
- Steam Eruption
- Sludge Wave
SYNOPSIS: Waiting for Heatran to drop to UU? Well no need! This trapper set is meant to be annoying to switch into in being able to lure your opponents into playing with fire, giving you some leeway to compensate for the lack of momentum. Not even water resists like Slowking will stand a chance when you can summon the sun to do your bidding. And the Speed EVs are programmed just enough to outspeed a Magnezone.

Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance

Its coverage combination can allow it to hit most of the tier neutrally barring a select few steels, so its a special wall that is less passive than most and offers a ground immunity as well.

Ice Cold Moth (worth 30 points)
:ss/Frosmoth:
Frosmoth @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Ice Scales
EVs: 80 HP / 212 Def / 216 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

This wincon set can set up against its most arguable bane of existence, Chansey and can even live a life orbed Accelerock from a Lycanroc-Dusk through screens! +1 Speed will outspeed nearly everything except Alakazam and Zeraora. And if you manage to get to +2? Well, forget about it Donny. It's all over.

I'm awful at laddering but I love trying weird mons and sets aaaaaaaah

UUBF1 mooth

froosmooth

edit: oof okay I tried but moth is really bad. bowing out.

edit 2: okay, now that most of my salt has worn off... hydro pump does not have 80% accuracy, s2g.

Frosmoth has a little potential. Between Ice Scales, Quiver Dance, and Safeguard, it can set up on common UU sights such as Tangrowth, Amoongus, and Slowking. The problems I encountered tho: hard-walled by Steels (you could run Zone, yeah, but that compounds the Fighting and Fire weakness and Zone isn't that good either :I ), it doesn't hit hard enough at +1 to make much of an impact, and you're outsped by Zeraora and p much anything with a Scarf at +1 too. Unfortunately I don't think I can build a team that supports it enough to consistently win games.

here's my pathetic peak replay:
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen8uu-1279507221-1nw2j8zrwlyrxzbxeuad30zuttwlg55pw

better luck next week!

Just a reminder that there are two days left before this cycle ends. If you want to get more fights in to try for more points, or if you want to totally restart with a different set of mons because what you picked wasn't working, OR if you want to sign up for the first time, do so now and get to ladderin'!

And don't forget to post your replay with your ladder peak! And remember - just because someone has similar ELO to you, does not mean they have a better score - it also depends on what mons they are using!

After a careful inspection of all factory assets, it would appear as though Aariz and JustFranco have made it to the Factory Employee of the Century board!

JustFranco score: 774.50
Aariz score: 744.50

HERE IS WHAT HAPPENS NOW:

1.
To determine who gets awarded the fabled asterisk (*), you two must fight using all 6 factory mons. The winner receives an asterisk on the board (both of you still make the board). Try to get this fight done as soon as possible (I mean you don't even need to teambuild!)
2. Both JustFranco and Aariz must submit a jangy set for a UU legal mon (anything UU to ZU) to the hosts BigFatMantis and Crushy Stuff , as this will be one of the sets to be used for the next battle period.
3. If you are too lazy to make jangy set, then just select a jangy pokemon and force the hosts to come up with a useable set for it.

GOOD LUCK!

Also in the future I will have people !rank or /rank themselves to show peak so I can see it, as I had to go by current ELO here as the replays didn't show the peaks.

CONGRATULATIONS TO JustFranco ON WINNING THE ASTERISK ON THE EMPLOYEE OF THE CENTURY BOARD!!!!

Both finalists have made submissions for the next cycle, so on we go!

CYCLE #2

EVs: 240 HP / 240 Atk / 28 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Knock Off
- Future Sight
- Aqua Jet
Synopsis: Azumarill is known to be a very capable mon already, but what if it could also look into the future? Certainly, if it could, it would see that it is faster than bulky Celesteela, and capable enough to really annoy Amoonguss. Grab your crystal ball and have fortune tell your future tale of victory!

Fat Spider (worth 18 points)
:ss/Araquanid:
Araquanid @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Bubble
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Sticky Web
- Protect
- Toxic
- Liquidation
SYNOPSIS: What's itsy bitsy and has a higher Special Defense stat than any other UU Pokemon? This Fat Spider is the answer! Webs is the least important move here, as this spider can actually stall out many special attackers and still decent damage with Liquidation! Is this the start of the Balanced Webs revolution? Maybe! Just don't let your leftovers get knocked!

The Accursed Swine! (submitted by Aariz ) (Worth 21 points)
:ss/Mamoswine:
Mamoswine @ Leftovers
Ability: Oblivious
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD

- Earthquake
- Avalanche
Synopsis: Mamoswine just not quite fast enough for your liking? I agree! So, take that speed and shove it down your chimney as this Mamo will bring a cursed boosting set, great for hyper offense, balanced offense, or the trickiest of trick rooms! Maybe even crank this spit to 11 and get yourself some Gravity support! Or just don't face any Rotoms....

What's Zubdog? (worth 24 points)

Zygarde-10% @ Leftovers
Ability: Aura Break
EVs: 208 HP / 76 SpD / 224 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Substitute
- Coil
- Thousand Arrows
- Skitter Smack
Synopsis: After many efforts and getting shut down by a bulky grass type nearly every time, Zydog comes back with a vengeance offering its speed and electric immunity in taking advantage of common regen cores involving grasses like Tang and Amoonguss by making them set up fodder with this Skitter Smack set, making it can excellent breaker against these kinds of teams. Even dogs will always fear bulls (Bulu) though.

Kung Fu Panda Express (submitted by JustFranco ) (worth 28 points)
:ss/Pangoro:
Pangoro @ Life Orb
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Substitute
- Swords Dance
- Drain Punch
- Gunk Shot
Synopsis: The Panda with the Iron Fist has returned to the UU Scene, this time fiercely prepared for the likes Azumarill, Hatterene, and Primarina. In fact, only Nidoqueen and Tentacruel can resist both its attacks, meaning the Punch Packed by this Panda will leave the enemies in a state of Peril!

Lil Goon (worth 30 points)
:ss/linoone-galar:
Linoone-Galar @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Quick Feet
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Facade
- Knock Off
- Hone Claws
- Seed Bomb
SYNOPSIS: Stall and Zeraora's speed tier having you feeling down lately? You can turn that frown upside down when this Linoone-G set comes to the rescue! If you thought one goon was scary enough, this lil goon is capable of breaking stall and has its own built-in choice scarf making it a solid speed control option and fears no ghost!

Aariz Estarossa Rawbi just a reminder that the deadline for this battle period is coming up fast! Again, you don't need to write up a post or anything, just need to get your fights in until you are satisfied and post your peak ELO w/ replay.

Final Points Totals for this Cycle:

Estarossa - 613
Aariz - 689

Also next Cycle is going to be a very SPECIAL CROSSOVER edition! But with what? Digimon? Naruto? The Flintstones? The Simpsons? The Los Angeles Lakers? Or perhaps another UU project on these forums. We'll see! Stay tuned!!!!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO JustFranco ON WINNING THE ASTERISK ON THE EMPLOYEE OF THE CENTURY BOARD!!!!

Both finalists have made submissions for the next cycle, so on we go!

As I mentioned earlier, we were going to have a CROSSOVER EVENT with something really special, so here the Los Angeles Lakers Crossover Event!!!!

1614320126862.png

However, this was not enough of a crossover, so we are also going to cross over with Bandkrook and ausma at the revolutionary UU's Next Best Thing project right HERE on the UU FORUMS!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CYCLE #3

Create a UUBF3 alt (e.g. UUBF3 MantisCrushing) and post below to participate! (e.g. "My alt is UUBF3 MantisCrushing and I will use the Azelf and only the Azelf).

Greetings all Factory Employees, Factory Newbies, Factory Champions, and Factory Whistleblowers. We have churned out some our greatest Factory Creations this Cycle for all of you to choose from! Behold!

AZ's Elf (worth 15 points)
(Submission of BigFatMantis during Week 8 of UU's The Next Best Thing!)
:ss/Azelf:
Azelf @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Fire Blast
- Psyshock
- Energy Ball
Synopsis (re-written for Ladder Factory): It is rumored that the mysterious AZ once took in a stray elf from Lake Valor and made it into a supreme champion. There is nothing in the entire world (except Zeraora and Alakazam) that can stop this ultra beast of a Pokemon (note: Azelf is not an Ultra Beast) once it gets going, and all of your foes will tremble before it's tremendous Viability!! (Azelf is currently C+ rank in the Viability Rankings).

The Meteor Myth (worth 18 points)
(Submission of Celebiii during Week 12 of UU's The Next Best Thing!)
:ss/Jirachi:
Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Play Rough
- Zen Headbutt
- Fire Punch
SYNOPSIS: You trade out the flinch rate of Iron Head to instead give Jirachi the potential to snowball into a decently fast, strong physical attacker that carries coverage to hit everything in the tier except Slowking and Victini with a neutral STAB attack at worst. With Serene Grace, Meteor Mash has a 40% chance to raise Jirachi's Attack by one stage, and Jirachi's defensive typing and bulk give it plenty of opportunities to switch in. Play Rough is very uncommon on Jirachi and can give the strong Dark- and Dragon-types in the tier a nasty surprise. Zen Headbutt gives a SE hit vs Poison- and Fighting-types as well as a neutral hit on Electric-types.

GODLURK (submitted by JustFranco from last week's winners) (Worth 21 points)
:ss/Golurk:
GODLURK (Golurk) @ Life Orb
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Rock Polish
- Poltergeist
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
Synopsis: And on here this day of February 26, 2021, the gods did decree that "All of the Lands Shall Belong to Golurk." And that is how Godlurk came to exist. With the right combination of Power, Speed, and Poltergeists, the enemy team will be swept away by the true might of this deity golem. As long as you don't knock off the enemy Heattom's item.

The Immovable Dragon (worth 24 points)
:ss/Kommo-o:
(Submission of BigFatMantis during Week 11 of UU's The Nest Best Thing!)
Kommo-o @ Leftovers
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 252 HP / 48 SpD / 208 Spe
Careful Nature
- Iron Defense
- Body Press
- Substitute
- Scale Shot
Synopsis: This set is based purely on a sweep as long as there's no scary ghosts. With one Scale Shot, you are faster than Adamant Zeraora, making you faster than mostly anything in the tier tthat isn't scarf. Iron Defense quickly regains your lost Defense and then some. It has enough Special Defense that Slowking needs two scalds to break it, and you can have a sub up for Future Sight hit. Substitute also blocks any status against you. There is absolutely nothing besides Mimikyu that can stop this once it gets going - so if you see a Mimikyu then you need to take that out before setting this guy up.

The Pain Within (worth 28 points)
Submission of Katy during Week 10 of UU's The Next Best Thing!)
:ss/Mimikyu:
Mimikyu (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Disguise
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Substitute
- Pain Split
- Play Rough
- Shadow Sneak
Synopsis: Substitute + Pain Split allows Mimikyu to stay healthy and to be a great annoying Pokemon in the UU metagame, as with Play Rough and priority Shadow Sneak in combination with Sub, it can do alot of work. Furthermore Pain Split allows Mimikyu to deal with bulky foes and to gain HP from Pokemon such as Chansey, Amoonguss, Mamoswine, and Tangrowth so Mimikyu has more freedom to act in a long term case.

Scorched Death (submitted by Rawbi from last week's winners) (worth 30 points)
:ss/Centiskorch:
Centiskorch @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Fire Lash
- Leech Life
- Knock Off
- Power Whip
SYNOPSIS: Have you ever made a team and wondered "boi where is my Kyurem and Celesteela check????" Well we found it right here at the ladder factory! That's right, the defensive Celesteela stands no chance here, and Kyurem will not be able to spam its ice cold love freely while this exists. You can also Knock Off any funny business that your foes are trying on a switch. So give it a whirl today!

CHOOSE YOUR CHAMPION (OR CHAMPIONS) AND SIGN UP BELOW TO PARTICIPATE!
