Not giving this any build up, I'm happy to announce that I kept my promise and a Beta of VaporeMons Random Battle is now live on DragonHeaven!

With it being a Beta, there are many kinks to work (I haven't done much in the way of forcing items or abilities, some weird combinations happen like Fire-types with Smelt still being given Heavy-Duty Boots, etc.) but the game is very much playable and I hope you all have fun with it as it continues to improve!

Not going too in-depth with takeaways here since I didn't really have an agenda or anything to keep my eye on in mind when going into this, I just wanted us to have some fun, but I do have a couple things:
- VaporeMons is still very fun, has aged very well I believe. Plenty of options for almost any team style and actually playing the game feels great, which is great since I wasn't too hot on it during and after PMPL despite most of the players enjoying it, but it's been a lot of fun over the last couple months with the Damp Rock suspect, Inteleon suspect (when you weren't playing against Inteleon), and this tour today
- Crabominable was notably absent, being one of the few things that's on my radar in terms of nerfs, since it's an extremely extremely effective abuser of Punching Glove on top of its other strengths
- Great Tusk being #1 in usage, showing that it very much enjoyed the lack of Crabominable in this tournament. As you'd expect from Great Tusk, we saw a good variety of sets, too, from the usual Offensive Utility and Rocky Helmet sets to a funny Choice Band set on a Gravity team
- Speaking of that Gravity team, facing an unexpected Sheer Heart Milotic has to be the scariest thing in all of VaporeMons, that thing is SILLY
-- I do have to point out how it's funny that, before Wash Away got nerfed, the usually more offensive Primarina somewhat usurped Milotic's defensive sets, and now with people remembering that Sheer Heart Milo is a thing, the more defensive Milotic usurps Primarina's wallbreaking sets
- I used Sun to win a game, I love Gen 9 Sun, Gen 9 Sun is very cool. I like it when Walking Wake clicks Hydro Steam and then the Pokemon in front of it spontaneously combusts.
- Speaking of Sun, the teams used this tour definitely leaned more offensive, with Sun, Rain, Psychic Terrain, and Webs all being used, while the teams that weren't pure offense didn't stray too far into fat territory. Not too surprising since this is Gen 9 we're talking about, but this does mean that we didn't see any Healing Stones-centered teams in this tournament (with the only HStones appearances being on Psychic Terrain), which is the surprising part

I return once again with slop for the masses. A lot of these noms are ones from my post-PMPL discussion post, so for any of those that I don't have more to say about, I'll be copying my reasonings from there (marked with italics). Let's get into it.

Recently Changed to A-: Still a strong option for GTerrain teams, but definitely much weaker than it was before. I see a lot of potential in this mon, particularly in fatter Fair Fight sets, which haven't been explored much yet. Idk what I was cooking with Fair Fight but this mon is definitely good. SD Punching Glove sets in particular are really strong and can roll over opps that don't have a strong Ground move to snipe you with.

Recently Changed to B: Rain seems to be about this good from the discussion I've seen, but I haven't played much against Rain recently so other people can expand more on this one.

UR to B-: Plenty of tour usage has shown this mon is much better than anything else in UR and has legitimate use cases over other mons like Alomomola and Toxapex. Its set variety is also very high, and I could easily see this mon even higher with more testing.

:ninetales:

UR to B-: Better than Torkoal at enabling mons like Walking Wake and Venusaur.

A+ to S: This mon is sooooo splashable. It's crazy how much value Magearna can provide to teams, with so much set variety between Specs, AV, or Lefties; Soul-Heart or Healer; Rollout, Ice Beam, Pain Split, Volt Switch, Shadow Ball, or even off-meta options like Gravity or Encore. This mon can do so much for teams, and that's before even discussing all of its amazing unique traits and matchups. Mage is the only reliable to counter to Iron Jugulis and Darkrai, while also being an amazing answer to Zamazenta, Kyurem, Iron Valiant, Kingambit, and so many more. I could extol this mon's good traits for hours, but I'm sure anyone who's played the meta knows how strong Magearna is.

:milotic:

A+ to S: With the rise of offensive Milo and the nerf to Wash Away, Milotic is far and away the best Water type in the mod. Defensively, Milo is second only Magearna in splashability, but it has many matchups over Mage, including Landorus-T, Great Tusk, and even Gouging Fire with more offensive sets. Additionally, offensive Milotic is no slouch at all, getting insane calcs like 40% to Max SpD Assault Vest Magearna with Specs Hydro Pump, and pretty much singlehandedly dismantling stall teams. This mon can do anything, and S tier fits that very well.

:jolteon:

A to A+: Even after TWO nerfs since the last VR update, Jolteon is still an extremely consistent offensive pivot. Without Round, it does struggle a lot more into Ting-Lu and Lando-T, but Volt Switch also does better into generic special walls like Glowking and Magearna, and Battle Spines is still as broken as ever.

:weavile:

A to A+: Insanely strong hazard setter. You can run it as a lead, you can run it in midgame, you can run it in lategame as a cleaner. This mon provides utility and offensive pressure at all stages of a battle, making it exceptional at its role and deserving of A+ at least.

:landorus-therian:

A- to A: Very splashable defensive mon, with even more options than in base thanks to the additions of buffed Smack Down and Defog. I've been loving this mon on all kinds of teambuilds, and it also pairs very well with top-tier defensive mons Magearna and Milotic, both of whom resist Ice.

:shaymin:

A- to A: GTerrain is meta, Shaymin is the best GTerrain setter.

:gouging-fire:

B+ to A+: Gouging Fire is an extremely strong offensive and defensive piece, with its setup sets being an extremely strong wincon and a great way of threatening opposing offensive mons thanks to Prehistoric Might. It also preys on the high Milotic usage, as fatter sets can actually set up on (defensive) Milo and eventually win the 1v1. It's also extremely good on fat builds, where its unique defensive profile and access to Rekindle make it a stellar defensive option, particularly if you can keep Stealth Rock off the field so it can run a Rocky Helmet.

:iron-moth:

B+ to A: Easily the best GTerrain mon in the tier. Pairs extremely well with other abusers like Woger and Iron Hands, and its set variety makes counterplay difficult until you've confirmed its coverage.

:meloetta-pirouette:

B+ to A-: Hydrei got me on the Melo-P train again. This mon has a lot of really nice traits, as while its speed tier unfortunately lets it be outsped and countered by Zamazenta, it also still gets a jump on pretty much the rest of the meta, and its unique tools like Rapid Spin, Knock Off, Triple Axel, and U-Turn give it tons of utility on teams.

:garganacl:

B to B+: Strong defensive piece for balance teams, with Tera Shard sets being versatile and extremely strong in the right matchups.

:iron-crown:

B- to B+: Seems a cut above the rest of B- based on its recent performance and is generally a solid mon on a lot of teamstyles. Recent results have only confirmed it for me even more - this mon is really good.

:samurott-hisui:

B- to B: Probably the biggest beneficiary of the Wash Away nerf, as decreased usage of Wash Away and bulky Waters in general are both great for it. It also doesn't suffer from the same pitfalls as bulkier hazard setters like Ting-Lu and Skarmory, as offensive hazardstack is more consistent than bulkier builds.

:delphox:

C+ to B: This mon lowkey cooks. I've been running it a bunch recently, and the calcs it can get with Blaze-boosted Fire Blast are absolutely insane. Perfect Fire/Fairy/Ground coverage does wonders for a mon, and this thing pretty much singlehandedly tears apart fat builds, while being just bulky enough to 1v1 plenty of faster offensive mons (Pult, non-Stone Edge Zama, etc.) Really a menace all-around, and that's before it gets to +2. The mon isn't really bulky enough to guarantee an NP in every game, but once it gets set up unpunished, it can easily run away with games.

C+ to B: Disgusting stallbreaker. Bulkier teams have absolutely nothing for this mon, particularly when it's paired with HStones or Wish support to keep it healthy over time, and I think B better reflects its wallbreaking potential. Also a pretty solid hazard setting option and can even set HStones for itself if it wants to.

:mandibuzz:

C to B: Saw good usage in PMPL and is one of the most consistent Ogerpon answers available. Also benefits from the Wash Away nerf as its role as a Defogger is more coveted now.

:blissey:

C- to C+: Highkey mandatory on stall, and stall is not C- bad.

:muk-alola:

C- to C+: I might be crazy, but I do legitimately see potential in this mon. It really needs more testing before I can be confident in this placement though.

S to A: While still probably the best hazard removal option in the meta, and while it has lost competition thanks to the Wash Away nerf, I just don't think Zone has the oomph needed to be an S tier. Zone's gameplan is pretty linear, and while options like Signal Beam and Software Crash can trip up opponents with good play, most teams are well-prepared to handle a Magnezone, and Great Tusk has been rising up once again now that Jolteon isn't being spammed everywhere, providing both competition and a good check. It's also worth mentioning that more and more offensive teams are resorting to bootspam instead of running proper removal, which puts Zone out of a job on those teams to a certain extent.

:great-tusk:

A+ to A: It's been so long since the last VR update that Great Tusk has already fallen out of the limelight and is now making a bit of a resurgence, so it feels weird to talk about it in the context of a drop instead of a rise, but the fact is that Great Tusk has major issues that limit what it can do quite a bit. For one, Tusk has horrible matchups into both Jolteon and Thundurus, two of the most common Electric types in the meta, making it seriously questionable as a Ground compared to options like Lando-T and Ting-Lu. Standard offensive Tusk sets also really struggle into common meta threats like Milotic and Crabominable, and can fail to bring value to teams in a lot of contexts. Recent innovations like Choiced sets are helping to breathe life back into the mon, but I still don't feel it's an A+ tier mon.

:ogerpon-wellspring:

A+ to A: With the Wash Away nerf and the increasing usage of Grass types like Hydrapple and Rillaboom, Woger's cracks are starting to show. It's still an incredible mon, but can be kind of inconsistent depending on the matchup, particularly into offense teams where that base 110 Speed is just a tad too slow when paired with its U-Turn weakness.

:ogerpon-hearthflame:

A+ to A-: This has proven to be more of an on-paper threat than anything else, as most teams are able to handle it naturally, and actually finding the chance to set up with it is really difficult. Hoger still destroys fat like nothing else, but the rise of Gouging Fire stall structures has made even that role kind of tenuous.

:iron-valiant:

A+ to B+: This mon has a lot of set variety, but honestly a lot of those sets are pretty underwhelming in practice. Glowking, Milotic, and Magearna are ubiquitous, and there isn't a single set that can beat all of them, making Valiant much more of a matchup fish here than it is in OU. That being said, the main thing stopping me from dropping it further is that it's still pretty great as a speed control option. I've really been enjoying Destiny Bond sets recently, as they enable it to provide huge value by forcing in and sniping mons like Glowking and Magearna. Still, those sets are nowhere near consistent nor splashable enough for a place in the As.

:gholdengo:

A to A-: Technically Ghold should be better now that Wash Away is nerfed, but honestly it still struggles to make progress in a lot of matchups, and defensively it's outclassed by Pecharunt. Hazardstack also still isn't very consistent due to the prevalence of Healing Stones and other removal options like Shelter, meaning Ghold's main playstyle isn't very common.

:gliscor:

A to A-: A very good mon to be sure, but I think Lando is more splashable in the current meta. It also suffers from the massive amount of Ice coverage being run right now (Ice Spinner Tusk, Ice Beam Mage/Darkrai, etc.) giving it far fewer switch-in opportunities than it would hope for.

:kingambit:

A to B-: It's pretty hard to make Kingambit work in this meta. There's plenty of viable counterplay, and most weakened teams still have outs into SD sets (assuming you even find the chance to set up in the first place!) To expand on this, between Magearna, Milotic, Corviknight, Crabominable, Iron Hands, and Gouging Fire among others, there is just far too much viable Kingambit counterplay, leaving the mon totally unable to make progress until lategame into most teams (and sometimes not even then!) Other Dark types are much more consistent, and I think its complete lack of usage back in PMPL proves as much, so a massive drop would better reflect the mon's current viability.

:kyurem:

A to A-: Milotic+Magnezone. It's a tough world for all the Kyurem fans out there. It also doesn't do that well into very SpDef-leaning Magearna, who also forces it to reconsider clicking STABs just by being on a team.

:ting-lu:

A to B+: This mon works fine as a hazard setter, but as a wall it's kinda lacking, particularly in the Jolteon matchup. That Jolteon bit isn't really true anymore, but it does still suck into a lot of top-tier offensive mons, including Jolteon's main competition, Thundurus. Plus, as will be discussed more below, fat, do-nothing hazard setters just aren't that valuable in this meta. EDIT: God I hate this mon so much. Just ran it today for the first time in ages and all it did was be a massive momentum sink and give my opp's breakers free entry. Do not run Ting-Lu, for your own sake.

:skarmory:

A to B+: Despite its amazing profile, Skarmory only really fits on fatter teams, particularly hazardstack, which just aren't that good in this meta. It also suffers from pretty bad passivity issues, which can make it struggle to do much to mons like Gholdengo and Landorus-T.

:alomomola:

A- to B+: The Wash Away nerf KILLED Alo. Without the phazing, this mon is so so passive, like it's really hard to put into words - Scald will lowkey be better a lot of the time. It's also really hard to ignore how bad this mon does into Woger when it's not forcing progress against everything else.

:dragonite:

A- to B: Way more threatening on paper than in practice. If you get a good matchup, this mon can go really far, but when it has to face one or more of Magearna, Milotic, Magnezone, and Weavile in every battle, it's just really hard to actually make progress with Dragonite.

:blaziken:

A- to B-: Matchup fish, not worthy of A-.

:deoxys-speed:

A- to B-: This mon is kinda jobless. Offensively it's super lackluster, as a lead it's outclassed by mons like Weavile, even into other offensive mons it often misses KOs and dies for nothing. I just don't get why you would want to run this mon.

:pecharunt:

B+ to B: Competes pretty heavily with Fezandipiti, who is overall better imo. Definitely has potential, and wasn't used at all in PMPL, but idt it's worthy of B+. Fez is no longer better, but this mon is still incredibly unexplored, and probably isn't B+ good regardless, but we'll see - I've been running speed investment recently after being inspired by OU, and it's been cooking.

:primarina:

B+ to B-: Wash Away nerf plus the advent of offensive Milotic have kinda pushed this mon out of the meta.

:zapdos:

B+ to C: Pretty lackluster defensive mon in the current meta. Your only real gameplan with it is to fish for Static paralysis, as otherwise you just lose to every offensive mon. It's also not great offensively, as Jolteon (and Thundurus now) has forced every team into running bulky Electric counterplay like Hoodra and Ting-Lu, which Zapdos absolutely hates.

:manaphy:

B to B-: This mon hasn't done anything in the entire year of 2024. Anyone claiming it deserves its ranking is completely capping at this point, especially after the Damp Rock ban. Damp Rock unban doesn't change my mind, also it's 2025 now...

:meowscarada:

B to C+: Outclassed by other Darks, terrible matchup into Magearna, terrible bulk making it extremely difficult to bring in, et cetera. Meow hasn't been good for a very long time.

:ceruledge:

B to C: Was hit extremely hard by the Justified/Rekindle nerfs, and just hasn't been the same ever since. Its complete lack of usage in PMPL reflects its viability pretty well imo, as it only fits on certain teambuilds that have to bend over backwards to enable it.

:iron-treads:

B to C: This mon just lacks stats in every area. It has plenty of good utility, and the Jolteon matchup is better than most Grounds, but with its mediocre bulk, lacking offensive pressure, and inability to consistently heal off chip, I don't think this mon's current ranking is justifiable. And now it doesn't even have the Jolteon matchup going for it.

:rotom-wash:

B to C: Similar to Iron Treads. This mon just lacks the bulk to function in most roles, particularly into premier offensive mons like Ogerpon-W and Jolteon.

:enamorus:

B to C-: A really awkward speed tier and poor bulk really hold this mon back. Calm Mind sets are definitely the best sets, but its weakness to getting revenge-killed make it pretty hard to justify on most teams. EDIT: After further testing, I think Delphox literally does everything this mon can but better, so really the only things Enam has going for it are the Ground immunity and HWish, which are not nearly enough to be ranked as high as B.

:azumarill:

B- to C: HO piece in a meta where HO sucks (or at least the HO builds Azu fits on). Also another mon screwed over by the prevalence of defensive options like Glowking and in this case Shaymin.

:clefable:

B- to C: See Iron Treads and Rotom-Wash.

:torkoal:

B- to C+: Ninetales has usurped Torkoal in OU as a Sun setter, and I expect that to also be the case here.

:tornadus-therian:

B- to C+: This mon hasn't seen usage in ages, and imo that's because it's outclassed by mons like Meloetta-Pirouette and Iron Jugulis as a fast offensive pivot.

:venusaur:

B- to C+: Not a guaranteed slot on Sun imo, and also really struggles to find setup opportunities, and can't really pick up the OHKOs it needs without being at +2.

:volcanion:

B- to C+: This mon is kinda lacking in everything from bulk to offenses to utility, with its only real niche being the fact that it blocks Wash Away.

:clodsire:

C+ to C-: Abysmal matchups into Magnezone, Gliscor, Skarmory, and Corviknight make this mon impossible to justify on anything but the most passive of stall teams, and even then it's often overshadowed by other options.

C+ to UR: Webs are as fishy as ever, particularly in a meta with Wash Away and Magnezone. While Wash Away is gone now, I actually don't think Ribombee is the best Webs setter anymore, as that distinction goes to Spidops imo.

C+ to UR: This mon is so unbelievably ass. It's impossible to set up with, can never beat Milotic, does no damage even at +1 or +2, is easily revenged...it's just horrible in every way, and there is no reason to run it over options like Zamazenta and Gouging Fire.

I see absolutely no reason to run Slowbro over better options like Hoodra or Hydrapple, and if that wasn't enough, Shelter's recent downturn in popularity has done nothing but confirm this mon's jobless status.

Gouging fire is a pretty sick mon, with a lot of utility (prehistoric might) and a lot of survivability (rekindle) and indirect buffs (wash away no longer phasing) benefit it quite a bit. A lot of changes like more milo (who you can setup on), magearna, jolteon, alo, magnezone, and gliscor generally being sp def really helps it find setup and clean games up

Jolteon is one of the best breakers and ways to force progress in this game, with signal beam you can deny recovery to slowking-g unless it has slack off, cripple gliscor, and make ting lu easier to beat up and is generally very hard to pivot around esp with alluring voice hitting stuff like great tusk. It is super fast and you will rarely ever catch it on its backfoot as battle spines accumulates a lot of chip on everything that wants to come into it so you are on a timer to get progress done or jolteon may just clean the game

Good why did we give this ceaseless edge, this mon is very good at just forcing progress, knock + ceaseless forces a ton of progress and kinda makes you wonder what cannot it do. It fits on teams easily and even mons who can stop it like mage, milotic, crab, alo really dont like switching on spikes alongside it. Alongside that it has green eye meaning it can catch mons off guard and steal stuff like setup, recovery, or stuff like shelter, healing stones, or hazards.

Milo is a great winner of this, with rain being popular it can deal with a lot of it by just being fat as hell. It also bullies a lot of pokemon thanks to water veil + boots giving it a lot of longetivity and allowing it to take hits it really should not like pult thunderbolt, cind gunk shot, +2 darkrai sludge bomb, ogerpon power whip, etc. It has a lot of utility it brings to the table by checking pult, weavile, valiant, zama-h, jugulis, crab, blaziken, darkrai, melo p, etc. It has a great amount of variety to as specs sets can easily turn the table and 2hko a lot of mons like slowking-g with hydro or 2hko'ing skarmory with moonblast, you have a lot of potential with it.

Iron moth was super under rated, I am bumping it up to A, the performance it gives especially late game is quite good and its ability to clean esp with fiery dance boosts. It is amazing at exploiting top tiers like magnezone, magearna, slowking-galar. Its speed is also quite useful in revenging many foes so it gets a high A ranking because of its amazing utilityit brings to the table

A lot of problems that we thought were something about magnezone, how magnezone is so good against checking it and its immovable. This is not very true... and baxcalibur can easily force its way through magnezone, and anything not magnezone has a much harder time switching in. This makes it pretty good into a lot of balance teams

Has a great presence, is very bulky, and with +2 jet punch can easily clean games, this makes it an excellent cleaner, wall, and something that you always have to keep in mind. With fur coat giving it titanic physical bulk it is pretty hard to dispose of from the physical side. You can even run stuff like gunk shot to snipe milotic

This mon is pretty darn good, with a lot of support which zama-h lacks it can really apply a lot of pressure. With its fast speed, good traits such as being immune to sound moves and being a ghost immune, and pivoting it finds a good use case on a decent amount of teams.

Roaring moon is a pretty good mon, paired with slowking-g it can either mow down offense with its blazing fast speed and be a great cleaner esp on banded sets or be a great breaker with an attack boost from its ability. Its dragon dance sets are also still useful but running into milotic, crab, or corv kinda sucks for it. Still very good, best set is banded and being paired with slowking-g to utilize protostatis to the maximum

Iron hands is quite good, its bulk is nothing to laugh at and with sp. def investment becomes stupid hard to take down, its a very 1v1 machine and can often be almost immovable under terrain. It is able to take so many hits and drain punch them back up to good health while its damage output is insane with 1.3x photon drive + 1.3x punching glove making it quite strong with little investment

Amazing physical wall, with static it can annoy so much mons and its one of the better wash away users thanks to toxic + volt switch telling all water absorb mons to not want to switch into it. Water / Electric is very annoying to switch into and its bulk is pretty good all things considered, with the fact that it can cripple weavile, zama-h, melo-p, valiant, pult's u-turn, while being able to pivot its team members in is quite a good trait

This mon has a lot of useful traits. with one of them being a bottomless movepool, with healing stones + shelter + rollout + many other moves it can fit, i feel it can fit on more offensive teams as it is a shelter user that has offensive potential, a healing stones users that can dish out damage, and with its ability it can always get one opportunity to do something

UR -> B

Muk-alola with its neutralizing gas ability alongside its great movepool is something I am ranking quite high, its ability to screw with mons like slowking-g, gliscor, alomomola, booster energy pokemon, garg purifying salt, etc. It is the best gas user in my opinion, esp with recovery it can break through bulkier teams quite well

Regular muk is also usable, with water / poison bullying milotic harder than any other mon it is quite good at its job, with hazardous waste still being good on it and it being a sponge to wash away which some users still run it can really be annoying to switch into. Priority jet punch is still very powerful and hard for some fast mons to switch into it. Toxic also ruins a lot of pokemon who may threaten it like grounds.

UR -> C+

Very very powerful one, with rock cudgel it can easily dispense of dragonite, gouging fire, zapdos and with power whip backing it up nukes a lot of other pokemon. SD + Stabs + Superpower hits the meta very very hard and often times if you play aggressive enough with it, you still have sturdy up so they also have to break it which allows you to punch a hole in the opponent

Overcoat + Bulk makes it annoying asf to get through, especially with the fact that it can annoy a lot of teams thanks to it esp with the fact its a good knock switch in now meaning stuff like roaring moon, great tusk, wellspring, dragonite, hoopa, etc dont really do much against it

It's been a long time since I made a UU discussion post, but with this VR update likely being the last one for a long time, now's as good a time as any to get back into the meta. There were some absolutely crazy shifts from this last update, including the additions of Blaziken, Deoxys-Speed, Pecharunt, Primarina, and Kingambit. We also lost Roaring Moon (thankfully), as well as Garganacl, Iron Crown, and Rillaboom. I've only played a few games so far, but I wanna highlight a few mons that have stood out already.

:sv/terapagos-terastal:

This mon is lowkey crazy. CM wincon sets do absurd damage, and Rapid Spin gives potential for Terapagos to sweep on the spot if positioned well (which is not hard thanks to Tera Shell + this mon's huge natural bulk). Tera Starstorm is insanely clickable and pretty much every Normal resist gets melted by EP, giving you near-perfect coverage in just two slots. Would not be surprised if this mon got the banhammer.

:sv/kingambit:

Ok honestly, this mon isn't too bad? Sucker Punch resists are actually pretty common, and between mons like Okidogi, Enamorus, Moltres, Zapdos, and more, it hasn't felt too pressing to prep for Kingambit. SD sets are still a really consistent wincon, don't get me wrong. It plays down here like it does in base OU - volatile and easy to run away with games with, but overall I think it's manageable, at least for now.

This mon hits sooooo hard. Like ik Lando-I has existed down here for a while, but every time I face LO NP sets I'm reminded of its raw power, watching it do like 70 to neutral walls and straight up OHKOing when it hits a weakness. Mon slots very easily into offense builds from hazardstack to screens to webs, and is likely to be a mainstay on those structures going forward.

So glad this mon is down here now, since it really shores up the defensive meta. Malignant Chain is as clickable as always, and Parting Shot is super nice for bringing in teammates safely. The surprisingly high amount of special Ground/Dark attacks being thrown around (Lando-I, Terapagos, Iron Treads, Sandy Shocks, Greninja) means it's nowhere near unkillable, but having a defensive pivot like Pecharunt really helps balance structures a lot.

Iron treads is definitely something I feel is underated, with momentum it heals off u-turn, heals from using rapid spin, ice spinner, rollout, and with good bulk u also check the best electrics in magnezone (u can wittle it down with knock off or just pivot in and heal of its rapid spin and pivot out and take negative damage), or jolteon who can do fuck all to you, u also wall magearna which is a big thing.

Pecharunt has been something I was toying around but more specifically a choke + malignant chain + green eye was very very irritating to fight against as you deny healing, steal healing, and spam poisons into enemies. Choke being a heal block that denies regen means slowking-g gets fucked up in 20 different ways and you definitely dont want to bring in corv to take rocks + heal block

Likely better than its C+ rank says since with flower trick, knock, and t axel it can do a lot of shit to the top tiers such as flower trick nailing crab,great tusk, alomomola, and milo while knock smacks the gholdengo, magnezone, skarmory and t axel does more to the dragonite, gliscor, and shaymin and is a strong move to toss out.

Minor balance change, Week 1 of PMPL 4 went well but council did notice one thing that we expect could get out of hand in later weeks that we wanted to nip in the bud quickly with one of our 3 regular season opportunities. Thus, :pecharunt:

Pecharunt now no longer learns Choke. In short, Pecharunt's Green-Eyed Snatching healing moves combined with Choke applying a nightmarishly long Heal Block allowed Pecharunt to too easily shut down defensive mons that rely on healing, making Pech very strong in combination with its great stats and movepool, so this little change makes playing against it a smidge less frustrating.

PMPL week 2 trend post maybe?

Just gonna write this as i go...

sat on top of w1 usage charts which and just vanished in w2... feels like a good job done on toning it down. It got 0 uses in the second week but who knows how much of it is because its actually way more toned down now or because people wanted to use smth else. I feel pecha is still solid mon but definitely gonna be phased out in comparison to its previous performance

is the new toy of week 2, getting 2 uses in one game and showing how good being a pex with pivoting, knock off, damage with hazardous waste, priority in jet punch, and having a good stat spread as well. Taking on foes like gholdengo, valiant, iron moth, and with flip turn can pivot in and out of battle

3 mons emerge with 4 uses by week 2 being :zamazenta:

who with its offensive powers is able to take on many mons in the tier and is the one of the fastest mons aside from pult and deo s. With its defensive presence with its dauntless shield to take on many mons and force them out to threatening weavile, meloetta-pirouette, baxcalibur, cinderace, and more. :gholdengo:

who with its bulky sets can take on the top tiers in magearna, slowking-g, corviknight, alomomola, etc and with its choice scarf sets it can revenge weavile, zamazenta, dragapult and also be annoying into fat with trick. :ting lu:

as well is the mon who is also doing quite well as ruination, hazards, and such a defensive profile are all valuable traits to have, when you stuff gholdengo, moth, darkrai, jolteon and you can spam ruination and hazards you are definitely a useful asset for teams to have

has a 100% WR when piloted by xrn and big tony showing its traits as a flying mon who can take on stuff like great tusk, zamazenta-h,wellspring, gholdengo, while giving 0 shits about hazards thanks to overcoat and freeing up its item slot. With its traits it can definitely be seen as somewhat of a mon that has been overlooked by the VR as in w2 tony uses it to take on regigigas' double edge every day of the week and even works overtime to bring its teammates in while in w1 when piloted by xrn to screw with ogerpon-w and and bring its great tusk teammate in while being choked to death by pecharunt.

has seen 0 uses in two weeks, this is definitely interesting and were seen as quite good mons but with unfavorable rises it definitely feels like they are taking a back seat

definitely feels much more manageable than in SV OU or nat dex.. it def feels like its just way to easy to pressure and without tera it gets boned by pult, revenged by zama-h, rocks cut into it painfully which makes it quite annoying to work with in comparison to water pon and the plentiful of water types that exist. I think its still good but its interesting how water pon is just often more splashable

is quite absent... it feels like the need for tera shard and the lack of lefties / boots really cuts into it and you notice how exploitable it is when it has to click recover every time it gets hit, also sucks into slowking

:iron valiant:

is struggling, this pokemon has to face muk, pecharunt, milotic, magearna, crabominable, slowking-g, and many mons on fat and is quite reliant on booster... oter sets can exist but gl getting value out of this when half the mons slap it. It def does not feel like A- anymore, felt Destiny bond sets could get value and trade out but rn...

Offensive Shaymin definitely exists, and with life orb and grassy terrain offsetting recoil and boosting seed flare its definitely a threat but personally its walled by corv, pecha still screwed with it, and life orb cuts into its own defensive utility. I feel it definitely can be used

Gouging Fire really loves running away with games sometimes. Despite hearing how inconsistent breaking swipe is, it was seen in action in the replay and really did put in work by accumulating toxic dmg and making it much easier to deal with

Also zard y was discovered... it hits like a truck. Killing dragonite from full with weather ball -> overheat is definitely a move... and i doubt anything else would have taken it as well

Well... we have some good stuff here... we see stuff like :mandibuzz:

dominating the top while weavile and wellspring despite high usage kinda flop in the WR department... although it doe snot mean as much it def kinda feels ceaseless weavile is an odd pokemon and a strange lead. I think weavile definitely is not a pokemon that its win rate reflects especially since it does have a lot of pop off potential and almost took down an entire milotic not thanks to bad luck

has a 0% WR.. with a lot of milotic, toxic mandibuzz, wellspring, wisp pult, kyurem, pecharunt you can definitely struggle when you kinda cannot do that much, dropping swords dance is scary. I think its far from bad but dam. Wish we had a bigger sample size

:meloetta pirouette:

has like 0 uses so far and didnt do so well... without a functional normal stab its definitely seeing its cracks show when it cannot deal with milo besides spam u turn and even then while melo p is stronger than zama you can definitely feel its bulk compared to it especially with the lack of dauntless shield. (Counteract is still garbage)

I think healing stone teams are quite good as shown from :milotic:

... nullifying rocks is quite a thing that helps them stave off vs knock off and keeping the team healthy while the value they provide over the course of a longer game is invaluable especially for bulkier teams or rock weak pokemon.

Grassy terrain teams popped up way less often, this may be a result of the nerf to iron moth r maybe a result to trends that they dont like... as stuff like spinner tusk, wisp pult, slowking-g, or gliscor really dont help them. I think they are still potent but without iron moth nuking teams like it used to it definitely feels like they are more bearable.

are the most popular mons with a 100% WR. shows kinda how once gouging fire gets going it can really take it all the way.. it has good setup with rekindle passively healing it allowing it to spam flare blitz to its heart content while hearthflame decides it wants to be the stomper of fat teams and gives hell with cudgel and whip while backing it up with play rough to smack pult, dnite and mandibuzz out of the sky. They kinda do prove how their potential is very good

A tour of Ranbats Vaporemons was done in the Random Battles chat and three things came up:
1.- Is there any way to see possible sets a Pokémon has in Vaporemons, similar to the /randbats commands?
2.- Illusion seems to be bugged, as it shows the Normal/Ghost typing on the illusion
3.- Some people experienced something strange, a pokémon would switch but from their perspective the pokémon was the same, however, the type visually changed and were not able to see the HP. A visual glitch, it was fixed by refreshing while battling.

1. Unfortunately /randbats doesn't work, so the best you can do is look at the code itself on Github, which has all the sets in one place
2. This is a bug with the little type preview thing that appear under every mon, though unfortunately I haven't been able to figure out why it's bugged as of now
3. I'm not 100% sure if this was the same situation so if you have any replays then feel free to send them, but I know a similar visual bug has always existed with Desert Storm and Latent Venom (where the mon that originally used the move appears on-screen if it hits when nothing is active on its side, then is visually switches out once you send a new mon in), so it could be that
