Boogie On Reggae Woman - Stevie Wonder
Thank you everyone for voting yet again! This week, our two winners are Dragon Tail Zygarde by 1_TrickPhony and Heatran by Jordy ! Your submissions will be implemented into the archive shortly. Now, before we move into the next week, both Creator of Chaos and I would like to announce one change that will be implemented starting this week, being that you may now only vote for one submission from each category. In the simplest way to put it, it was annoying to deal with ties and was just outdated, so we decided to remove it.

Moonage Daydream - David Bowie
This week, our victim of the week is Mega Alakazam! Mega Alakazam is an incredibly interesting 'mon that has recently seen an astonishing surge in usage thanks to its incredible and unique niche of being an incredible wallbreaker that is able to immensely pressure balance thanks to its incredibly powerful stab, combined with its access to an amazing ability in the form of trace, which grants alakazam access to fantastic abilities including Regenerator, Magic Guard and Flash Fire as well as to having incredible longevity thanks to Recover. Because of this, it also holds an almost unparalleled niche of being one of the only offensive checks to both Mega Latios and Firium Heatran that can safely switch into both mons. It also has the ability to immensely pressure the large majority of balance builds, possessing the ability to sit in front of 'mons like toxapex, ferrothorn and tangrowth and simply annihilate them in addition to recovering up on them. Filler filler filler, Due in a week from now, happy posting!

Celesteela @ Leftovers
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 248 HP / 104 Def / 156 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Heavy Slam
- Flamethrower

Celesteela is probably one of the best counter to M-Alakazam in the actual metagame (bar pursuit users), for many reasons. first of all, it can take every moves from the Zam's movepool, and so it can check its moveset. Unlike mons like M-Zor or Gliscor, which are weak to some hp tech from M-Zam, Celesteela is only 3hko with hp fire/focus blast, and can heal itself with protect and leech seed. At last, Celesteela's powerfull stab, Heavy Slam 2hko all Zam spread variants, preventing it to heal itself with Recover. CM focus blast can be a problem, but as long as Celesteela hits with leech seed, it still win the 1v1.

0 Atk Celesteela Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. 120 HP / 0 Def Alakazam-Mega: 186-219 (66.1 - 77.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 SpA Alakazam-Mega Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 156 SpD Celesteela: 140-166 (35.2 - 41.8%) -- 82.9% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Alakazam-Mega Focus Blast vs. 248 HP / 156 SpD Celesteela: 140-165 (35.2 - 41.5%) -- 80.6% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
+1 252 SpA Alakazam-Mega Focus Blast vs. 248 HP / 156 SpD Celesteela: 209-246 (52.6 - 61.9%) -- 98.8% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Mega scizor changed idea
AV Magearna as a counter

(i like this sprite)

Magearna @ Assault Vest
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm / Sassy Nature
- Fleur Cannon
- Flash Cannon / Iron Head
- Hidden Power Fire / Ice Beam
- Volt Switch

AV Magearna takes a very little from the Alakazam moves, in return Magearna does a lot of damage of its STAB. Also you can use Volt Switch maintain momentum since Alakazam will probably switch.
8 SpA Magearna Flash Cannon vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Alakazam-Mega: 105-124 (41.8 - 49.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
0 Atk Magearna Iron Head vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Alakazam-Mega: 117-138 (46.6 - 54.9%) -- 61.3% chance to 2HKO
8 SpA Magearna Fleur Cannon vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Alakazam-Mega: 169-201 (67.3 - 80%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
8 SpA Magearna Fleur Cannon over 2 turns vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Alakazam-Mega: 254-303 (101.1 - 120.7%) -- guaranteed KO in 2 turns

+1 252+ SpA Alakazam-Mega Focus Blast vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Magearna: 118-139 (32.5 - 38.2%) -- 97.7% chance to 3HKO

Scarf Kartana as a check

Kartana @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Leaf Blade
- Sacred Sword
- Smart Strike
- Knock Off

The idea is pretty simple, Scarf Kartana can revenge kill Mega Alakazam with Knock Off or Leaf Blade

252 Atk Kartana Leaf Blade vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Alakazam-Mega: 267-315 (106.3 - 125.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Kartana Knock Off vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Alakazam-Mega: 258-304 (102.7 - 121.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Sableye @ Sablenite
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Will-O-Wisp / Toxic / Imprison
- Recover
- Protect

Mega Sableye comes in on Mega Alakazam easily and doesn't really fear anything other than Shadow Ball, which only 4HKOes. In return, Mega Sableye can either status Mega Alakazam(depends if magic bounce was traced, but it's probably not) to consistently wear it down or use Knock Off to 2HKO it.

Tapu bulu as a counter

Tapu Bulu @ Leftovers
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 224 HP / 216 SpD / 68 Spe
Careful Nature
- Swords Dance
- Horn Leech
- Superpower
- Synthesis

This thing can tank every hit zam has to throw at it and either heal all the damage with Horn leech, or use it as setup fodder.

252+ SpA Alakazam-Mega Psychic vs. 224 HP / 216+ SpD Tapu Bulu: 156-184 (46.2 - 54.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery and Grassy Terrain recovery
0 Atk Tapu Bulu Horn Leech vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Alakazam-Mega in Grassy Terrain: 214-253 (85.2 - 100.7%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO

Muk-Alola @ Assault Vest
Ability: Poison Touch
EVs: 248 HP / 136 Atk / 92 SpD / 28 Def / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Pursuit
- Poison Jab
- Fire Punch / Fire Blast / Rock Slide

Muk counters MegaZam no matter what - even the worst possible matchup on paper, Modest + Knock Off, still only 3HKOs our oily friend in practice, while Muk OHKOs MegaZam with its own Knock Off if it stays in or Pursuit if it doesn't.

252+ SpA Alakazam-Mega Focus Blast vs. 248 HP / 92 SpD Assault Vest Muk-Alola: 110-130 (26.6 - 31.4%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
252+ SpA Alakazam-Mega Focus Blast vs. 248 HP / 92 SpD Muk-Alola: 164-193 (39.7 - 46.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Mega Latias as a check.
latias-mega.gif

Latias @ Latiasite
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Stored Power
- Substitute
Mega Latias can switch into any move Alakazam can throw at it except for Shadow Ball. It can then proceed to use Alakazam as setup fodder. Even if Alakazam also has Calm Mind, Stored Power lets Latias beat Alakazam in the Calm Mind war.

Golisopod as Counter
images.jpg

Golisopod @ Assault Vest
Ability: Emergency Exit
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Leech Life
- Liquidation
- First Impression
- Sucker Punch
You only need to live hit As you can see it takes 3 hits to ko this bad boi without rocks. He can 1 shot megazam with his bug moves and even heal out of him for free even if lower hp. Sucker punch allows it to revenge it if you are too low. It also doesnt fear any of its coverage and id say most of the time he comes out he forces zam out thats how you know he is a counter.

CALCS:
252 SpA Alakazam-Mega Psychic vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Golisopod: 135-159 (38.1 - 44.9%) -- guaranteed 3HitKO

252+ Atk Golisopod First Impression vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Alakazam-Mega: 444-524 (176.8 - 208.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ Atk Golisopod Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Alakazam-Mega: 230-272 (91.6 - 108.3%) -- 50% chance to OHKO

Greninja @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Protean
EVs: 176 Atk / 80 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Rock Slide
- U-turn
- Ice Beam
- Spikes

Standard scarf greninja as a check.

176 Atk Protean Greninja U-turn vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Alakazam-Mega: 246-290 (98 - 115.5%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO

You could move some EVs to Attack to secure the kill. The SpA investment is to OHKO Kartana, so pick your poison.

Edit: Forgot to mention greninja also has some defensive utility against MegaZam since, while risking Focus Blast, it can actually switch into Psychic (its presence alone can dissuade Zam from clicking its STAB), Shadow Ball and the less common HP Fire in a pinch.

Reserving AV Tangrowth as a CHECK

Tangrowth @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 28 Def / 228 SpD
Sassy Nature
-
Giga Drain
- Knock Off
-
Hidden Power Ice/ Hidden Power Fire
- Earthquake

Tangrowth can safely Tank any attack Mega-'zam throws at it (Psychic is a 3HKO, Focus Blast has a 33% chance of 3HKOing, and Shadow Ball is a 5HKO), and 2HKOs with Knock Off. However, like I mentioned above, since psychic is a 3HKO, tang can't switch into Psychic, otherwise it'll only be able to use Knock Off only once before fainting.

Calcs:

252 SpA Alakazam-Mega Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 228+ SpD Assault Vest Tangrowth: 81-96 (20 - 23.7%) -- guaranteed 5HKO
252 SpA Alakazam-Mega Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 228+ SpD Assault Vest Tangrowth: 122-144 (30.1 - 35.6%) -- 33.1% chance to 3HKO

252 SpA Alakazam-Mega Psychic vs. 252 HP / 228+ SpD Assault Vest Tangrowth: 136-162 (33.6 - 40%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
0 Atk Tangrowth Knock Off vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Alakazam-Mega: 134-158 (53.3 - 62.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Moonage Daydream - David Bowie

Thank you everyone for another fantastic week of submissions! There's honestly not much to say this week, apart from sorry for being late, but there's a few things that's going on behind the scenes, so please forgive me for the delay. As usual, i've had to recategorise a few categories here and there, if you have a problem pm me or I will dropkick you rather than flooding the thread. I'd also like to point out that the vr rule still exists, meaning that you will have to pm either Creator of Chaos or myself to post said 'mon.

Voting will end tomorrow, since we're slightly behind schedule. I'll also ask you to keep your eyes out for something notable soon! Until then, happy posting! And for the record, i will not be changing the font that I use in my posts, you uncultured swines.

Was gonna vote for M-sableye but just got bopped by dazzling gleam which is totally suboptimal but still gonna change my vote to Muk-Alola

Moonage Daydream - David Bowie

Thank you everyone for voting once again! Unfortunately, not everyone read the new rules, but for the benefit of the doubt, we're all used to voting for two submissions. Anyways, this week's winners are Scarf Greninja by Flame from Heaven and Celesteela by Givrix ! Your submissions will be added into the hall of fame once I finish the Next Best Thing™ hall of fame.

Lose Yourself - Eminem
Pyukumuku @ Aguav Berry
Ability: Innards Out
Level: 96
EVs: 252 HP
Hasty Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Def / 0 SpD
- Block
- Soak
- Toxic
- Rest

At the request of Creator of Chaos this week's victim is Pyukumuku! Yes, this week, we will be taking a look at Innards Out Pyukumuku, which is an incredibly interesting option on stall, allowing stall to remove common stallbreakers, including the incredibly popular Mawile, Kartana, Hoopa and Tapu Lele from play, giving stall a much easier matchup versus these 'mons. Admittedly, you will be playing a five versus 6 game for quite some time, however, the ability to trade yourself for an incredibly threatening wallbreaker is just invaluable to many stall builds, especially on those that are either incredibly weak to the aforementioned (although you shouldn't be, considering the abundance of checks to these mons on modern stall) or those lack an unaware abuser. On the topic of Unaware, I - much like the creator of chaos - am feeling rather diabolical and decided it would be in the best interest to see what you guys could do with an Innards Out Pyukumuku, as I did not want to see a simple set of wallbreakers and taunt users as submissions. Deadline is on Saturday the 25th. Good luck trying to find something to break this, and happy posting!

Band Kartana as a counter

Kartana @ Choice Band
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Leaf Blade
- Knock Off
- Sacred Sword
- Smart Strike

This little guy ignore Toxic and doesn't care about the loss of its STABs because can shoot a powerful Knock Off that removes its item but without killling him, but still threatening him with a 2HKO

252 Atk Choice Band Kartana Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0- Def Pyukumuku: 210-248 (77.2 - 91.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Choice Band Kartana Knock Off vs. 252 HP / 0- Def Pyukumuku: 141-167 (51.8 - 61.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Sableye-Mega @ Sablenite
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 244 SpD / 8 Spe
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Will-O-Wisp
- Protect
- Recover

Sableye is able to bounce block, soak, toxic and even Spite, can knock off Pyukumuku's item and forces it to rest. Pyukumuku is a dead slot as long as Sableye is on the field.
