Mega Altaria is one of the few Counters to CB Crawdaunt, due to it's amazing Dragon/Fairy typing allowing it to resist both of Crawdaunt's STABs, which along with it's good bulk and reliable recovery in Roost, allows Mega Altaria to switch in on Crawdaunt pretty freely, threatening it out with a OHKOing move in Body Slam.

Finding a good answer to CB Crawdaunt is not easy. However Chesnaught is a really solid vs Crawdaunt, being able to OHKO it with Wood Hammer or 2HKO with Drain Punch. On the other hand, Crawdaunt is completely harmless againt Chesnaught and it can't do much with its STABs.

Hydreigon makes for a nice offensive check to Crawdaunt, being able to take both of its STAB moves with ease and pressure Crawdaunt and the rest of its team with its strong special attacks. Although you run the risk of getting knocked off and losing a noticeable amount of power, you can still KO Craw back and have enough power to take on threats with your coverage and already strong STAB's:

While Azumarill certainly can't switch into Crawdaunt like its counters can, it still eats Crawdaunts hits well for a check, resisting both STAB moves and threatening to OHKO Crawdaunt back with Play Rough or Superpower. However, be wary of Crabhammer since that can cleanly 2HKO Azumarill, but Crawdaunt tends to spam its Dark STABs more due to the plethora of good Water resists in OU.

Hi all. I think Heracross is cool to check Crawdaunt due to its defense who allow it to tank a crabhammer. Of course this is a check bc it will take a lot from the water stab, so be careful. This obviously kills crawdaunt with Close Combat or Pin Missile.

This Rotom variant outspeeds Jolly Crawdaunt by one point, forcing Daunt to Aqua Jet if it wants to do any damage. It's not necessarily the best of switch-ins thanks to the lack of bulk, but in a pinch, it can and will force it out with a Volt Switch that kills nearly 70% of the time.

I really wanted to do a check from on the VR but this is probably one of the hardest counters you can get so I've hit "fuck it"


Poliwrath @ Rocky Helmet / Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Relaxed Nature
- Scald
- Circle Throw

- Sleep Talk

Poliwrath is not only immune to Crabhammer and Aqua Jet thanks to Water Absorb, but with the combination of its high physical bulk and Fighting typing it also takes jack all from KOff/Crunch. Circle Throw only deals around 50% to Crawdaunt, but on the flipside it means that their switching is all messed around with if they choose to evade the damage.
