Victini (Fire) [QC 1/2]

[SET]
name: Z- Celebrate (Fire)
move 1: Celebrate
move 2: Searing shot
move 3: Stored Power
move 4: Focus Blast / Thunderbolt
item: Normalium Z
ability: Victory Star
nature: Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Victini can act as a good setup sweeper with the help of Normalium Z and Celebrate to boost all its stats, increasing the defensive and offensive potential of Victini as well as using hard hitting moves to sweep or hinder a team significantly. Stored Power becomes a 120 Base Power move from the boosts for a powerful STAB move, Stored power OHKOes pokemon like Toxapex, Nihilego, Tapu Koko, Keldeo. It also allows Victini to outspeed threats such as Choice Scarf Excadrill, Tyranitar after 2 Dragon Dances. Searing Shot acts as its other strong STAB move which can be boosted by the sun to hit Pokemon like Aegislash, Scizor, Mega Sableye and other Dark-type Pokemon. It is also more consistent as it does not rely on Z-Celebrate like Stored Power or have poor accuracy like Focus Blast. Focus Blast acts as good coverage for Dark-types such as Tyranitar, Hydreigon and Greninja and, Heatran. Thunderbolt also acts as good coverage for Water-types such as Mantine, Slowking, and Greninja.
252 Speed EVs with a Timid nature allow Victini to speed tie with other 100 base speed Pokemon while 252 Special Attack EVs to maximize its offensive power.

Torkoal acts as a great teammate for Victini as it can remove hazards which Victini is very vulnerable to, set harsh sunlight with drought which weakens water moves for Victini to set up more easily as well as hit harder with searing shot and, eases weather matchups which are detrimental to Victini's speed tier. Torkoal can also set up Stealth Rock to put defensive Pokemon like Tyranitar in OHKO range. Blacephalon and Mega Charizard X both benefit from Victini chipping down opposing defensive Pokemon such as Mega Diancie and Heatran, and makes it easier to potentially sweep the opposing team and vice versa. Rotom - Heat is also a good teammate as it provides a ground immunity to aid with Ground threats and its Electric typing threatens water types, as well as set up Light Screen and Reflect which lets Victini set up safely, Rotom could also safely pivot into Victini with volt switch. Scarf Blacephalon and Infernape help check faster threats such as Mega Diancie and Scarf Nihilego. Volcanion is also a good teammate as it can eat water moves and prevent Belly Drum Azumarill from sweeping. It is essential to not take too much chip damage when setting up to prevent a KO from faster pokemon like Terrakion, Blacephalon, Greninja and Latios.

[SET]
name: Choice Band (Fire)
move 1: V-create
move 2: Bolt Strike
move 3: U-turn
move 4: Trick
item: Choice Band
ability: Victory Star
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Victini excels as a wall breaker with a Choice Band being able to 2HKO most walls with hazard support and sun support such as Chansey, Toxapex, Mega Slowbro. V-create allows Victini to hit really hard even against Pokémon that resist it, this is further boosted by the sun making it near impossible to switch into, Pokemon like Gastrodon and Swampert get 2HKOed after Stealth Rock. Bolt strike is a good coverage move that hits Water-type Pokemon like Toxapex, Mega Slowbro and Pelipper. Not only does U-turn make it easy to gain offensive momentum but also prevents Victini and switch into teammates that are better suited to deal with the foe. Trick prevents walls like Hippowdon, Toxapex, Slowbro from recovering as they would be choice locked severely crippling their ability to wall. Victini can afford to run moves like V-create and Bolt Strike because of Victory Star which boosts the accuracy of the moves by 1.1 times. 252 Speed EVs with a Jolly nature allow Victini to speed tie with other 100 base speed Pokemon. 252 Attack EVs combined with a Choice Band allow it to hit as hard as possible without losing any speed ties.

Torkoal is a great teammate as it aids in removing hazards as Victini is weak to Stealth Rock, Sticky webs will make it too slow to safely U-turn on Pursuit trappers. Torkoal can also set Stealth Rock and which would allow Victini to 2HKO defensive pokemon such as Toxapex. The harsh sunlight set by Torkoal makes V-create hit much harder, less vulnerable to Water-type moves and eases the weather wars. Mega Charizard Y is also a good teammate as it can also set harsh sunlight and is a good special wall breaker allowing them to break walls for each other. Cinderace and Choice Scarf Blacephalon help take out faster mons that would otherwise threaten Victini such as Gengar, Spectrier, Mega Diancie and Mega Sharpedo. Volcanion is also a good teammate as it can eat water moves and prevent Belly Drum Azumarill from sweeping.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Fire

Victini could also use a Choice Scarf to allow it to outspeed slower pokemon after using V-create and makes it a good revenge killer, Choice Scarf also pairs well with Trick and Final Gambit.
Final Gambit could be run with max HP EVs to take out walls with ease and quickly gain momentum.
Victini could also make good use of Heavy Duty Boots as it is crippled by hazards.

Checks and Counters
===================

Fire

**Walls**: Z- Celebrate Victini can be checked by walls such as Chansey, Blissey, Alolan Muk.
Choice Band Victini can be checked by Physically defensive Gastrodon and Garchomp.

**Water-types**: Victini is weak to water types and may also find a hard time hitting Water-types with Fire moves or even using Bolt Strike onto a Water/Ground type pokemon such as Mega Swampert, Seismitoad, Gastrodon which are common on Water teams, Water-types can still be 2HKOed in the sun.

**Pursuit trappers** Pokemon such as Heracross, Weavile, Scizor and Alolan Muk often take advantage of the speed and defense drop from V-create and can very often and very easily use Pursuit to revenge kill.

**Hazards** Victini is vulnerable to hazards due to it Fire-typing and loses speed due to sticky web preventing it from sweeping with Normalium-Z as it would be slower and have a weaker Stored Power.

**Revenge Killers** Pokemon that outspeed Victini such as Scarf Greninja and Scarf Latios.

**Opposing Weather** Opposing weather can be deadly as it could potentially halve the power of fire moves, it also allows other Pokemon such as Mega Swampert, Excadrill and Kingdra.

=============
- Mention why Stored Power is better than Psychic/Psychock as it OHKOs Toxapex after the boost, avoiding Haze, OHKOs Tapu Koko from full as well
- "It is essential to not take too much chip damage when setting up to prevent a KO from faster pokemon like Blacephalon, Greninja and Excadrill." Change it to Scarf Blacephalon and Scarf Greninja as +1 Victini outspeeds non scarf sets. Also replace Excadrill as an example, with Latios since Victini outspeeds Scarf Excadrill at +1
- Explain EVs
- Reword how screens rotom makes it easier to set up with Victini
- Add Heatran and Scarf Blacephalon/Infernape as great teammates that help remove faster threats like Mega Diancie and Scarf Nihilego, while Heatran also provides a neutrality against Rock type moves
- Add Volcanion as a good teammate to switch in against Water type moves and prevents Belly Drum Azumarill sweeps

=============
- Explain EVs and how Victory Star's accuracy boost helps
- Add that Torkoal provides Stealth Rock support for Victini
- Again, add Volcanion as a good teammate to switch in against Water type moves and prevents Belly Drum Azumarill sweeps

Checks and Counters
===================

Fire
- Add "Opposing Weather" as a category, Physical Gastrodon on Ground walls it completely and Excadrill in sand outspeeds and OHKOs. V-Create damage is significantly reduced in rain and easily revenge killed by rain sweepers.
- In the category "Walls" make sure to specify which walls deal with which set
- Remove "Mega Stones and Z-Crystals" since the need to click Trick with Band Victini is very rare
- Rename "Fast Pokemon" to "Revenge Killers" and give examples like Scarf Latios, Scarf Greninja etc and remove the weather abusers you've mentioned now, as examples since they'd already be mentioned under the weather category

Approved, QC 1/2!

Z-Celebrate
[Set Comments]
- would talk about what z-celebrate allows victini to outpace like scarf excadrill
-mention stored power targets like toxapex
- don't mention the compatibility issues of blue flare or w/e, just focus on Searing Shot. just focus on it being powerful and reliable STAB

Victini can threaten to sweep many types such as Steel, Poison, Grass, Ice and Fighting.
- this doesn't really add information, i would take this line out of the first paragraph

- reword the last sentence of the first paragraph to this: 252 Special Attack and 252 Speed EVs with a Timid nature allow Victini to x.
- first sentence of the teammates paragraph, underline some key pokemon that victini can take care for the team with this set
- remove that part about focus sash's, just focus on what it helps victini break overall
- what does victini chip down for blacephalon and mega charizard x
- rotom-h does more than provide a ground immunity, for this set talk specifically about setting screens and breaking water-types

Choice Band
[Set Comments]
- in the first line talk about how victini excels as a wallbreaker, especially with the support of the sun. talk about v-create in the next line, talk about what it can 2hko with sun support that it does not otherwise such as Gastrodon.
- in the bolt strike line, please focus on just what bolt strike does. sun is irrelevant in it
- the way you talk about U-turn it makes it seem as if it dodges Pursuit, which is wrong. just talk about how U-turn can help Victini gain offensive momentum on a forced switch by bringing in a teammate that better deals with the foe
- talk about the evs, nature, item, and ability in the last line of paragraph 1

[Strategy Comments]
Other Options
- Make the sole focus of this line that Victini is a revenge killer with Choice Scarf. Then in line 2 proceed to talk about what Final Gambit can do for Victini and a good target for it

Checks and Counters
- separate the walls into two sentences. talk about what checks z-celebrate in the first line, then what checks cb in the second line.
- water-types talk about how for the most part they wall it, and specifically mention Gastrodon and Swampert as Bolt Strike immunities. Mention that Water-types can be 2HKO'ed by V-Create under the sun.
- fix up the rest of the c&c in pms

Overall Notes
Please talk to me on discord about the set comments, I feel like both set description and teammates need a massive overhaul. You seem like you don't know how to focus in on what we want in analysis so I can help with that. after we have fixed up set comments for both sets we can revamp the last parts, then I will QC check this again. Also, there are a ton of small GP errors you made referring to moves, Pokemon, etc. I would suggest reading over the grammar standards, and ask any questions from me. here it is: https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/spelling-and-grammar-standards.3656658/

Also we will talk about how to properly implement a QC check, it seems a good chunk of Maple's QC wasn't properly implemented!
