Vileplume @ Black Sludge / No Item
Ability: Effect Spore
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Strength Sap
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Growth

If you're told to wake up and smell the roses, don't smell this by mistake. Vileplume lives up to its name by being one of the better, albeit more annoying physical walls in the NU metagame. For instance, it easily switches in on common foes like Passimian, Drapion, Diancie, and Mudsdale and can punish aforementioned physical attackers with Effect Spore, potentially inflicting them with a status condition. It can also switch in on special attackers like Rotom-C and Sylveon. Strength Sap is how it maintains its longevity from such physical attackers while Giga Drain is there as a secondary option for offensive uses. Growth turns Vileplume into a bulky wincon once its checks like Talonflame, Psychic Bronzong, Salazzle, and Xatu have been removed from the field. Vileplume can choose for passive recovery with Black Sludge or forgo running an item at all, letting it switch into Poltergeist-users like Dhelmise and Golurk. Having a partner like Heatproof Bronzong to handle Dragalge and Salazzle is appreciated since Vileplume hates facing these foes. A wallbreaking partner like Golurk weakens or flat out erases Steel-types that give Vileplume headaches while also beating Xatu.

If you're told to wake up and smell the roses, don't smell this by mistake, and for good reason. Vileplume lives up to its name by being one of the better, albeit more annoying physical walls in the NU metagame. For instance, it easily switches in on common foes like Passimian, Drapion, Diancie, and Mudsdale and can fish for status with punish aforementioned physical attackers with Effect Spore, potentially inflicting them with a status condition on the former three. It can also switch in on special attacking foes like Rotom-C and Sylveon. Strength Sap is how it maintains its longevity from such physical attackers while Giga Drain is there as a secondary option for offensive purposes. Growth turns Vileplume into a set up sweeper of sorts bulky wincon once its checks like Talonflame, Psychic Bronzong, Salazzle, and Xatu are removed from the field. Vileplume also can choose for passive recovery or not here with the latter choice being if the rest of your team lacks a Poltergeist switch-in with Black Sludge or not to run an item at all, letting it switch into Poltergeist-users like Dhelmise and Golurk. Having a partner like Vaporeon Heatproof Bronzong to handle Talonflame Dragalge and Salazzle is appreciated since Vileplume hates facing them. Implemented. The changes put the character count over 1000, so I changed:

"It can also switch in on special attacking foes like Rotom-C and Sylveon." INTO

"It can also switch in on special attackers like Rotom-C and Sylveon."

This is DONE!
