[OVERVIEW]

Fire
========

Quiver Dance Volcarona is a phenomenal setup sweeper for Fire teams thanks to its great natural special bulk and ability to take on Psychic teams with ease. Its STAB combination and coverage options threaten Water-type defensive cores as well. While Volcarona is blessed with phenomenal special bulk, its physical bulk is rather lackluster and makes it rather hard to time a Quiver Dance sweep properly, often forcing Volcarona to rely on its Focus Sash. While its Bug typing does help Fire teams in the Psychic matchup, it stacks the type's natural weakness to Rock-type attacks and Stealth Rock.

[SET COMMENTS]
Quiver Dance allows Volcarona to outpace Pokemon such as Mega Lopunny after one use and Excadrill in sand after two. Quiver Dance should only be used against weaker special attackers such as Clefable unless Focus Sash is intact. Fire Blast has strong general coverage, and Bug Buzz threatens every Pokemon on Psychic teams while also hitting Water- and Dark-types such as Suicune, Mega Sharpedo, and Tyranitar. Giga Drain targets Water- and Ground-types such as Rotom-W, Swampert, Gastrodon, and Hippowdon. Swarm makes Bug Buzz stronger in a pinch, OHKOing Victini after a Quiver Dance boost. Focus Sash allows Volcarona to safely set up Quiver Dance against physical attackers such as Victini while also activating Swarm. Maximum Speed allows Volcarona to Speed tie with threats such as Choice Band Victini and outspeed Choice Specs Latios and Tornadus-T after Quiver Dance.

Mega Charizard Y can help Volcarona in the Steel matchup by beating Heatran with Focus Blast, assists against Water-types such as Swampert with Solar Beam, preserves Focus Sash with Defog, and empowers Volcarona's Fire Blast thanks to Drought. Drought also creates easier setup opportunities against weaker Water-types such as Rotom-W. Choice Scarf Darmanitan is an incredible revenge killer that can OHKO threats such as Landorus with Flare Blitz after chip damage from Stealth Rock. Earthquake allows it to take on Tentacruel and Empoleon on Water teams, giving Giga Drain Volcarona an easier time cleaning. Additionally, Darmanitan can safely bring in Volcarona on a forced switch with U-turn. Infernape is the premier suicide lead on Fire teams. It provides Stealth Rock, which allows Volcarona to break through Flying-types like Zapdos and Tornadus-T with ease, and prevents slower foes such as Swampert from setting entry hazards with Taunt. Close Combat allows Infernape to take care of problematic bulky Normal-, Dark-, and Steel-types such as Chansey, Tyranitar, and Heatran. Heatran can take on Mega Diancie with Flash Cannon and eliminate Chansey through Magma Storm + Taunt. Choice Scarf Victini can revenge kill threats such as Kyurem-B, Landorus, and Tornadus-T and also weaken Water-types such as Keldeo and Empoleon with Bolt Strike. U-turn allows it to safely bring Volcarona in against Swampert or Gastrodon. Victini is also able to remove faster threats such as Mega Garchomp and Mega Diancie with Final Gambit or cripple walls with Trick, which prevents them from disrupting Volcarona's setup. Volcanion can absorb powerful Water-type attacks such as Choice Specs Keldeo's Hydro Pump and Kingdra's Surf while also threatening Ground- and Fire-types such as Hippowdon and opposing Volcarona.

Lum Berry can be used over Focus Sash to have a better matchup against Pokemon that spread status such as Thunder Wave Jirachi and Toxic Mandibuzz.

Checks and Counters
===================

Fire
--------
**Stealth Rock**: Stealth Rock is Volcarona's greatest weakness, taking half of its health and effectively making its Focus Sash useless.

**Physical Attackers**: Physical attackers such as Victini, Mega Diancie, Dragonite, and Mega Garchomp threaten to OHKO Volcarona with their STAB attacks, with little it can do in return. However, all of them bar Dragonite can be defeated with enough Quiver Dance boosts.

**Heatran**: Heatran completely walls Volcarona without Hidden Power Ground, stopping it from sweeping Steel-type teams.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Chansey is able to take any attack from Volcarona, even after multiple Quiver Dance boosts, and retaliate with Toxic. Bulky Mega Tyranitar and Piloswine can check Volcarona with Stone Edge and Rock Slide, and Mega Tyranitar's Sand Stream also breaks Volcarona's Focus Sash.

**Super Effective Attacks**: While Volcarona's special bulk is impressive, it still has trouble dealing with super effective attacks such as Tornadus-T's Hurricane and Choice Specs Keldeo's Scald.

**Revenge Killers**: Faster revenge killers such as Excadrill in sand, Kingdra in rain, Choice Scarf Landorus-T, and Weavile are able to easily take care of Volcarona. It can also be easily picked off by priority attacks such as Azumarill's Aqua Jet, Dragonite's Extreme Speed, and Bisharp's Sucker Punch.

- Maximum Special Attack and Speed investment alongside a Timid nature allows Volcarona to hit as fast and hard as possible, while speed tying threats such as offensive Mega Gardevoir and Choice Band Victini, while outspeeding threats such as Choice Specs Latios and Tornadus-T after a Quiver Dance. [offensive Mega Gardevoir is very uncommon, replace it with Mega Charizard Y as a "speed tie"]

[Team]
- Mega Charizard Y can help Volcarona in the Steel matchup by breaking Heatran with Focus Blast, assist against Water-types such as Swampert with Solar Beam, and increase the power of Volcarona's Fire Blast thanks to Drought. [Feel like its important to mention defog to clear entry hazards, especially sr considering how much volc can be worn down by it]
- Infernape is the premier suicide lead on Fire teams. Stealth Rock allows Volcarona to break through Flying-types like Zapdos and Tornadus-T with ease and can prevent the opposing slower foes from setting Stealth Rock such as Swampert[how?]. Close Combat also allows Infernape to take care of problematic Normal-, Ice-, Dark-, and Steel-type Pokemon for Volcarona such as Chansey, Lapras, Tyranitar, and Heatran. [I think saying specially defensive or bulky spd Pokemon over listing the actual typings directly tells the reader that Volcarona cannot easily break such Pokemon. I'm unsure thought because you mentioned Lapras and on samples (ice) its using Choice Specs, maybe removing it as an example could be better overall especially since Ice isn't that common anyways)
- Mention Rotom-H , include screen support

[OO]
* A Lum Berry can be used over a Focus Sash in order to have a better matchup against Pokemon that spread status such as Thunder Wave Jirachi and Toxic Mandibuzz. [Discord]

[C&C]
**Chansey**: Chansey can easily wall any attack Volcarona throws at it, even after a few Quiver Dance's, can status it with Toxic, and top off its health with Recover, allowing it to use Volcarona as recovery bait. [change this to spd pokemon to include pokemon like mega tyranitar, armaldo, and piloswine. put emphasis on chansey in the following sentence]

**Super Effective Attacks**: While Volcarona's Special Bulk is impressive it still has trouble dealing with wallbreakers supereffective attacks such as Dragonite's Outrage and Choice Specs Keldeo's Scald. [outrage isn't supereffective, try to include like 3 examples from each of its rock, flying, and water weaknesses]

Mega Charizard Y can help Volcarona in the Steel matchup by breaking Heatran with Focus Blast, assist against Water-types such as Swampert with Solar Beam, and increase the power of Volcarona's Fire Blast thanks to Drought. Mega Charizard Y can clear hazards for Volcarona with Defog, keeping its Focus Sash intact. I think you should briefly mention somewhere that setting sun can help create setup opportunities for Volcarona against weaker Water-types like Rotom-W. Choice Band Darmanitan is an incredible wallbreaker that can blast through special walls such as Chansey and OHKO threats such as Kyurem-B with Flare Blitz. Earthquake allows it to take on Tentacruel and Empoleon on Water teams, then allowing Giga Drain Volcarona an easier time cleaning in that matchup. I'd adjust these two sentences to reflect Choice Scarf being much more relevant on Darmanitan than Choice Band.

Final Gambit can be used as a one-time revenge killer to take out faster threats such as Mega Garchomp and Mega Diancie, while Trick can prevent walls from interrupting its setup.

A Lum Berry can be used over a Focus Sash in order to have a better matchup against Pokemon that spread status such as Thunder Wave Jirachi and Toxic Mandibuzz. Bulky Quiver Dance with Fiery Dance over Fire Blast and Roost over Giga Drain might deserve an OO mention. Up to you on whether to add it or not.

Checks and Counters
**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Chansey can easily wall any attack Volcarona throws at it, even after a few Quiver Dance's, can status it with Toxic, and top off its health with Recover Soft-Boiled, allowing it to use Volcarona as recovery bait.

Volcarona is a phenomenal setup sweeper for Fire teams,(RC) with thanks to its great natural special bulk, a part Bug typing allowing it ability to take on Psychic teams with ease, and most importantly powerful setup in Quiver Dance. Swarm is used on Volcarona to increase the power of Bug Buzz when Volcarona is in a pinch allowing it to OHKO Victini after a Quiver Dance boost.(this sounds like a set comment thing) Additionally, in tandem with Giga Drain, Volcarona can threaten the defensive core of Water teams. Quiver Dance is Volcarona setup move that allows it Volcarona to outpace Pokemon such as Mega Lopunny after one Quiver Dance or and Excadrill in sand after two Quiver Dances. Quiver Dance should be used against weaker special attackers such as Clefable or against physical attackers such as Mega Diancie only when its Focus Sash is intact. Fire Blast is Volcarona's main STAB attack and allows it to targets Pokemon such as Jirachi, Mandibuzz, Mega Gardevoir, and Landorus. Giga Drain allows it Volcarona to target Water- and Ground-types Pokemon such as Rotom-W, Swampert, Gastrodon, and Hippowdon. Swarm allows Bug Buzz to hit harder when Volcarona is in a pinch, it can usually safely achieve thanks to its Focus Sash OHKOing Victini after a Quiver Dance boost.(Moved from overview) A Focus Sash allows Volcarona to safely set up Quiver Dance against physical attackers such as Victini,(RC) while also allowing it to safely get into the range of Swarm. Maximum Special Attack and Speed investment alongside a Timid nature allows Volcarona to hit as fast and hard as possible, while speed tying threats such as Choice Band Victini, while outspeeding threats such as Choice Specs Latios and Tornadus-T after a Quiver Dance.
