It's been a long time since I played Pokemon (since early Excadrill Era). I wanted a team without weather nor a real defensive core. Another thing I wanted is that (almost) all my team had U-tun or Volt Switch, just to be super annoying.
I absolutely want my 3 pesky little buggers namely Celebi, Jirachi and Mew.
So it started like this:
Those 3 can do almost anything so I thought I would decide on their roles later.
I then added one of y favorite Pokemons since Red and Blue:
I like his speed and special attack so I decided to use a choice specs version of him.
After that I remember how strong sand teams were and decided to go with:
He's strong and has a nifty 101 speed stat. He's was meant to be my revenge killer.
Finally, I used the Pokemon I hate with all my heart:
He looks dumb but has magnificent typing. Rain teams hate him. He can learn volt turn.
So here's the detail of my team:
Mew @ Leftovers
Trait: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
- Roost
- Psychic
This is the wallbreaker mew with a twist (well he cannot break walls anymore). I felt I needed at least one stealth rock user, either mew or jirachi). I went max speed to taunt into stealth rock against setuppers. I'm not sure about this one as he's weak to U-turn. And most of all he doesn't have it. I think his entire set needs to be reworked but i don't know how. This guy is my lead and his role to stop things from boosting themselves. He can also do some residual damage with stabbed psychic. Leftovers are for more resilience.
Rotom-W @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 112 HP / 252 SAtk / 144 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
I removed WoW from mew because Rotom-W has it. I used to play this set and honestly it works very well. For EV, I followed what somogon told me :p. This little dishwasher's role is to damage and cripple ennemies before my Jolteon or Landorus come in. WoW is useful against physical attacker (my team is not really bulky) and ground types immunes to thunder wave.
Jolteon (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Shadow Ball
Jolteon has the speed and the power to destroy a lot of thing with pseudo-bolt beam coverage. He is no longer overshadowed by Thundurus. His move pool is however a but limited. Speed and Spa are obvious as he wears a choice specs. I'm not sure about modest though, maybe some speed would be useful.
Landorus (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sand Force
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- U-turn
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Hidden Power [Ice]
This guy just destroyes things. Besides Jirachi, he's my only physical damage dealer but I think I'm fine with this. He's basically my response to sand teams and Volcarona. He has huge coverage. I chose a scarf for him because of his speed stat of 101. His role is to revenge kill or to come and deal huge damage after one of his mates u-turned.
Celebi @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Thunder Wave
- U-turn
I really like this set. I felt that with giga drain and leftovers, I could forgo recover. Thunder wave is great and synergizes well with Jirachi. Giga drain is great for gastrodon and the likes. Gross knot would be better against tyranitar. As always I like speed because of the U-turn orientation of the team. It's basically like this: celebi gets in and forces a switch, he can get out while still dealing additionnal damage. This however takes a lot of prediction.
Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 224 HP / 252 SDef / 32 Spd
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Body Slam
- Iron Head
- U-turn
- Wish
The Wish U-Turn combo is nice. I however think I need to change EVs and nature to go into a more offensive version with attack and speed. The wish would be less beneficial so I'm kinda torn. This guy is my reliable physical damage dealer. He can be hell after the ennemy team is statused.
Please Rate My Team, I'm open to any suggestion and I could really need some help the mew set to make U-turn work.
If you need more info just ask.
