~Way to Victory~

I've been in competitive OU in a while and I wanted to make a team where i didnt depend on a single one nor stalling since, in my opinion is the worst way to play, besides this team does nicely in all types of weather, and even tho it doesnt have excadrill, kingdra or a sun boosted, it usually counters them. I like to play offensivly but this team is balanced, 3 offensive and 3 defensive pokemon. Thanks for checking my RMT, this is the way to victory.

Code:
[IMG]http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/149.gif[/IMG]
First I started with the famous MixNite as my lead since it is a great wall
breaker, and it's a very good offensive start making some wholes at the
beggining of the battle.
[IMG]http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/149.gif[/IMG][IMG]http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/385.gif[/IMG]
Then I put Special Defensive Jirachi, these guys make a great team, each
covers its weaknesses and besides, who doesnt hate getting haxed by this
little guy.
[IMG]http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/149.gif[/IMG][IMG]http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/385.gif[/IMG][IMG]http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/637.gif[/IMG][IMG]http://pokemon-stats.com/foros/images/smilies/479-w.gif[/IMG]
I was having some problems with the Lati@s, scizor and sometimes
Tyranitar so I went for Offensive Volcarona as my set up sweeper which stab
Bug buzz hits hard Tyranitar and Latis, and standard Rotom-w to
take out scizor and take a defensive role on my team.
[IMG]http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/149.gif[/IMG][IMG]http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/385.gif[/IMG][IMG]http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/637.gif[/IMG][IMG]http://pokemon-stats.com/foros/images/smilies/479-w.gif[/IMG][IMG]http://images.wikia.com/es.pokemon/images/1/1a/Bronzong_NB.gif[/IMG][IMG]http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/381.gif[/IMG]
Sand Storm Teams were getting on my nerves, mostly Excadrill
so I found out that bronzong was perfect for this team, it could
take Some Dragon attacks and rock. Also I was looking for
another Dragon type so LO latios seemed fine. Also I had changed
Dragonite to Bulky DD.

[IMG]http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/149.gif[/IMG][IMG]http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/385.gif[/IMG][IMG]http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/034.gif[/IMG][IMG]http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/251.gif[/IMG][IMG]http://images.wikia.com/es.pokemon/images/1/1a/Bronzong_NB.gif[/IMG][IMG]http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/620.gif[/IMG]
This was the final phase for my team, I changed Volcarona
since I was having problems to switch him in thanks to stealth rocks, Rotom-w
wasnt really needed since it could beat scizor but was totally stopped by
the pink blobs chansey/blissey and I was getting totally pwnd by Haxorus
so I'm now using Scarfed Mienshao, celebi instead of rotom-w, who's a boss
and the weird Nidoking. Latios is a very common foe and aswell
every team has a counter for him.

Dragonite (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 252 HP / 44 Atk / 212 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
Dragon Claw Roost
Fire Punch Dragon Dance

Pretty much a standard Dragonite, coupled with wish jirachi it can be destructive in almost every team. Besides, it can also come in and go many times and set up easily, after this it can take lots of pkm from the current metagame since in its majority they are Dragon or Steel Types, also the actual problem is Heatran or Defensive Gliscor which can stop the sweeping but Mienshao takes care of them usually.

Slowbro (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Scald | Psychic | Thunder Wave | Slack Off

Thanks to BKC for advicing me this. With this little pink frag sand i get more chance to stop terrakion to set up and sweep me. Also it's ability combined with thunder wave can be very annoying but useful for my team. Thanks for the advide dude

Tiknerbell (Celebi) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Giga Drain
- Recover
- Leech Seed
- Hidden Power [Fire]

May I present to you one of the mostimportant member here, Celebi, this little guy's ability as Natural Cure is really handy since, for example, when you see a chansey/blissey coming you know they will toxic or thunderwave on you, this is where Celebi comes, leech seeds and goes back, and now the next pkm i switch in will recover somewhat. Giga Drain hits very nicely Rotom-w and still recover some hp, also, with its respectable defences it can take some good hits, hp fire will hit scizor and most probably OHKO him. Recover has obvious reasons, to recover some lost hp.

Nidoking (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
Earth Power Thunderbolt
Ice Beam Flamethrower

Now here is where some people go: WTF? why did you choose that guy?!? and the answer is simple, even tho it has mediocre speed it still can outspeed some defensive pkm from the latter metagame such as gliscor or skarmory. Also as you can Imagine, using him as a lead isnt a too bad Idea, its great movepool allows some great hits and Sheer Force coupled with Life Orb does an amazing damage, not only that but it's bulky enough to take an uneccpected hit and recover later with Wish from Jirachi and Nidoking can take some mach hits from Conkeldurr .

Mienshao (F) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 252 Atk / 32 SAtk / 224 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
Hi Jump Kick Hidden Power [Ice]
Stone Edge U-turn
Mienshao is amazing, with its great ability, great attack, decent special attack and good speed. I gave him those evs because, gliscore loves to switch in and that way Ican get a OHKO easier, it is still very fast. this way it can outspeed a +2 ChestoRest Volcarona and ofc OHKO with Stone Edge. Also, the pink blobs were givingme some problems as well as Heatran so this guy can easily OHKO with Hi Jump Kick, however its imperfect acuuracy and scary secondary effect is a shame, I just would need to switch out to recover somewhat and come back later. This works excelent a revenge killer, or to explore somewhat my opponents team with U-turn.

JingleBell (Bronzong) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 84 Atk / 80 Def / 88 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
Gyro Ball Stealth Rock
Earthquake Hypnosis

This is one of the best walls in the game as its only weakness being fire it canset rocks up and then, which was in my opinion the best choice, put to sleep a pokemon, I know hypnosis has a bad accuracy but usually, pokemon like scizor, or big set up threats come thinking it'd be easy to set up infront of him and then BAM asleep, while this I get somefree turns, for example to set Dragonite up or just switch to Nidoking and force a switch or defeat the opponent.

PS: Since im to lazy to edit most of the Ex Jirachi I'mjust letting you know I changed it for slowbro

PS of PS: Should I put Gastrodon somewhere in my team? Rain teams are getting annoying.

This was ~The was to victory~ Thanks for reading I hope to get plenty of rates to keep getting better!

Swords Dance / Choice Band Terrakion can rip through this team quite easily, since your best switchin, Celebi, manages only 36.22% - 43.65% with Giga Drain under sandstorm (and even without sand, it's still not a KO). Scarf Mienshao can revenge but it can't switch in safely - not to mention Hi Jump Kick's accuracy will screw you over at times - so Terrakion will manage to grab at least one kill, and most likely more if it's Choice Band since it won't want to stay in on Mienshao if it's locked into Stone Edge.

Jirachi seems like the weak link of this team because you've got a Bronzong, who has identical typing in addition to Levitate and superior defenses; since this team lacks a bulky water, my suggestion is to use Slowbro in Jirachi's place in order to fix the Terrakion weakness. He is incredibly bulky, provides the paralysis support Jirachi did, counters Conkeldurr more reliably than Nidoking, has instant recovery, and his Regenerator ability means that you can switch in and out as much as you want.

Slowbro @ Leftovers | Bold | Regenerator | EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Scald | Psychic | Thunder Wave | Slack Off

As for some minor suggestions, I'd go with HP Ice over Hypnosis on Bronzong. The former gives you a 100% Gliscor counter and decent Dragonite check, while Hypnosis's terrible accuracy will let you down alot. I'd also take 8 EVs out of Celebi's HP and add them to speed in order to get the jump on most Rotom-W and Gliscor. Try these changes out, I think they'll really help; cool team and good luck!

Thanks!

Thanks for the rate, I'll try that slowbro. Also, do you think I should change Mienshao? Since it has missed lots of times. I was thinking maybe conkeldurr or Azumarril. Thanks again.

Perhaps run Heal Bell rather than Hp Fire on Celebi as you could have quite a problem with a well built stall team, meaning status can wear your team down.

Also Hp Ice over Hypnosis on Bronzong for Gliscor, Hypnosis isn't really a viable option considering its very disappointing accuracy :]

Threats
  1. Swords Dance Lucario (w/ Crunch)
  2. Calm Mind Reuniclus
  3. Stall
  4. Calm Mind Virizion
  5. Taunt W-o-W Mew
Hey, cool team. A late game SD Lucario looks like it can cause some trouble, coming in to Mienshao locked into Stone Edge / HP Ice, grabbing a boost then firing off boosted attacks, which only two Pokemon can survive; Dragonite and Slowbro. Dragonite taking 67.1% - 79.3% from Close Combat, and Slowbro, 75.6% - 89.3% from Crunch. With additional damage, these two won't be able to stand up to its assaults near the end of the match. With the removal of Jirachi, Reuniclus can come in on Celebi or HJK locked Mienshao, and accumulate Calm Mind boosts to sweep your team. Celebi and Slowbro resist its attacks, but can't do anything to stop it. Stall breaking is also an issue, seeing as you don't have any dedicated stall breaker; you're primary attackers is a Scarfer and a bulky Dragonite. The old SkarmBliss core for example can be a complete roadblock against this team, setting up hazards, then stalling you out. CM Virizion can come in on Mienshao locked in Stone Edge or Celebi, shrugging off their weak assaults and set-up Calm Mind boosts to take your team out, while nothing you could do to stop it. Finally, Taunt Mew could be highly frustrating as it gets its way with every member of the team, crippling every member with Will-o-Wisp, Taunt to prevent recovery, then chipping off their health slowly with Roost keeping it aloft, but it isn't AS common as the others.

Solutions:

  • Solution A: Calm Mind Latias over Nidoking
Nidoking is a good 'mon, but I don't think it's doing much for your team. To me it looks like it was slapped on just because of his attacking prowess, while not really accomplishing anything or checking anything. Latias is a solid answer to Virizion and Reuniclus, setting up alongside them and then coming out on top with boosted Dragon Pulse. Latias also brings some much needed speed to your relatively slow team. Mew also has problems getting past Latias, as it can't really do anything to Latias under Taunt, and Latias will eventually be able to take down Mew with CM boosted Dragon Pulse; it can't really stay in Latias's way for long. You won't be missing much with the absence of Nidoking, sure Latias doesn't have the coverage, but it does provide as a valuable counter to the Calm Mind users troubling you, while also being able to sweep late game. Additionally, with Refresh Latias becomes tough to stop by Stall teams, as Blissey (biggest threat to Latias on stall) can't do much against you with status thanks to Refresh and will eventually, but slowly go down if you play her correctly.
  • Solution B: Mixed Salamence over Dragonite
The Lucario problem and the stall issue remains, hence I think Salamence can go over Dragonite. Dragonite has its uses, but I think you'll get more benefit from Salamence who is another huge threat to stall and brings more power coupled with wider coverage after Nidoking removed. Although Latias is a good way to annoy Stall with CM+Refresh, Steel types will get their way against her, especially Skarmory, which can also pHaze her. Salamence on the other hand rips stall by hitting on both ends of the spectrum, and Roosting off damage to stay alive. It can also survive Lucario's Extremespeed thanks to Intimidate, and KO with Brick Break or Fire Blast. Latias and Salamence also pair well, as Salamence can lure in and weaken many of the steel- types that threaten Latias with Draco Meteor.

Movesets:

Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spe
Timid nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Recover
- Refresh / Roar / Hidden Power Fire
---

Salamence (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 116 Atk / 216 SpA / 176 Spe
Rash nature (+SAtk, -SDef)
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast / Flamethrower
- Brick Break
- Roost
---

So to summarize:
  • CM Latias > Nidoking
  • Mixed Salamence > Dragonite

Personally I wouldn't run Mienshao unless it's a lead. Max attack, max Speed, Jolly nature and holding Life Orb. Swap stone edge to fake out. Fake out first, u-turn to counter. Regenerator heals off 3 turns of Life Orb damage. It's a fantastic attacking and momentum changing pokemon.

Hey there.

Change Celebi to a Nasty Plot variant, as Slowbro covers the defensive end pretty well. Nasty Plot Celebi can destroy stall, and also hurts other teams late game as well.

Celebi @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 220 HP / 252 SpA / 36 Spd
Modest Nature (+SpA, -Atk)
- Giga Drain
- Nasty Plot
- Recover
- Hidden Power [Fire]

This Celebi can still take hits pretty well, and can set up pretty easily because of it. Hidden Power Fire is chosen because it destroys Ferrothorn, Scizor, etc. It's important to keep Hidden Power Fire as it will help you beat a Rotom-W w/ Volt Switch + Scizor w/ U-Turn strategy.

On Bronzong, I would definitely run Hidden Power Ice over Hypnosis. HP Ice can destroy Gliscor, which otherwise walls you, and can also hit Dragonite and others. Hypnosis' accuracy can be a turn off as well; it is also not that necessary, especially since you are not running weather and do not benefit as much from putting other weather inducers to sleep.

Finally, definitely replace Mienshao. It is not that useful, especially when Hidden Power Ice has become standard and most good players know to expect it. A Chocie Band Scizor would be a good replacement, as it would let you defeat Latios more easily, and would also give you a form of a priority, which would help with the weaknesses, such as the one to DD Haxorous, that you have.

Scizor @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Speed
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpA)
- Superpower
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
- U-Turn

This set can be very effective in the current metagame. U-Turn allows you to get switch advantage while dealing amazing damage to anything that does not resist it. Pursuit is crucial as it will let you kill pokemon like Latios before they become bigger threats to your team. Superpower kills steels, and can be used to beat Skarmory (as Roost gets rid of Skarmory's flying type, allowing Scizor to hit it supereffectively with Superpower.
