Weavile is an excellent setup sweeper on Dark due to Swords Dance and Ice Shard, which let it wreak havoc against Flying, Dragon, and Ground teams and clean types such as Electric late-game. Triple Axel's multiple hits threaten Mimikyu and Substitute users such as Kommo-o, Galarian Moltres, and Kyurem. Icicle Crash trades Triple Axel's increased damage for consistency and avoidance of contact effects, such Zapdos's Static and Garchomp's Rough Skin. However, Icicle Crash Weavile struggles with defensive Pokemon such as Corviknight and fails to OHKO Kommo-o and Dragonite without a boost. Knock Off removes key items such as Leftovers from Rotom-W and Celesteela, allowing Weavile to easily sweep late-game, and also OHKOes Mamoswine at +2. Ice Shard OHKOes would-be revenge killers such as Choice Scarf Galarian Zapdos and Dragapult at +2 after Stealth Rock, and it picks off weakened threats such as Tapu Koko and Zarude. Heavy-Duty Boots protects Weavile from entry hazards, allowing it to come in to revenge kill a threat or remove important items multiple times in a match.
Swords Dance Weavile can't significantly damage Steel-types such as Melmetal and Ferrothorn and is checked by physically defensive walls like Colbur Berry Slowbro and Toxapex, so teammates such as Nasty Plot Hydreigon and Galarian Moltres are good to help in these matchups. Dragon Dance Tyranitar wears down Weavile's checks such as Celesteela and Toxapex, and it appreciates Weavile's ability to remove its checks like Landorus-T, Kommo-o, and Choice Scarf Galarian Zapdos. Alternatively, specially defensive Tyranitar supports Weavile by setting Stealth Rock, spreading paralysis, and checking special attackers such as Hatterene and Volcarona. Grimmsnarl facilitates Weavile's sweeps with dual screens. Choice Scarf Zarude checks threats such as Urshifu-R for Weavile, and it benefits from Weavile pressuring Zapdos, Mamoswine, and Celesteela, which lets Zarude better pressure types such as Electric, Ground, and Steel. Sableye provides a Fighting immunity, checks Iron Defense Kommo-o and Corviknight, and wears down the opposing team with Knock Off and Will-O-Wisp. Drapion sets Toxic Spikes, which wears down defensive Pokemon such as Gastrodon and Slowbro, and checks bulky setup sweepers such as Clefable and Hatterene.

With Choice Band, Weavile turns into an extremely threatening wallbreaker and cleaner for Dark teams. Triple Axel 2HKOes switch-ins such as Gastrodon, Celesteela, and Duraludon. Icicle Crash avoids contact effects such as Zapdos's Static and Ferrothorn's Iron Barbs, but it requires prior damage to 2HKO Corviknight and Celesteela. Knock Off is the safest move to use early-game to remove Leftovers, Eviolite, and Black Sludge, weakening switch-ins such as Corviknight, Porygon2, and Toxapex for Weavile and teammates like Hydreigon, Zarude, and Galarian Moltres. Low Kick significantly damages Steel- and Ice-types such as Ferrothorn, Melmetal, and Mamoswine. Ice Shard lets it clean Ground, Dragon, and Flying teams late-game, and it picks off threats such as Garchomp, Dragapult, Thundurus-T, and Galarian Zapdos. A Jolly nature is preferred to outspeed and remove threats such as Tornadus-T and Latios, as well as Speed tying with Adamant Dragon Dance Dragapult.
Choice Band Weavile struggles against Steel teams and physical walls such as Toxapex. Nasty Plot Hydreigon and Galarian Moltres are great teammates, as they can take advantage of those walls' passivity. Hydreigon also wears down defensive Pokemon such as Rotom-W and Celesteela for Weavile, and Weavile in return deals with faster Dragon- and Flying-types such as Dragapult, Latias, and Galarian Zapdos. Choice Scarf Zarude lures in Flying-types like Zapdos and Landorus-T, bringing Weavile in with U-turn, and deals with Water-types such as Tapu Fini and Urshifu-R for Weavile. Specially defensive Tyranitar sets Stealth Rock to wear down the opposing team and checks special attackers such as Choice Scarf Tapu Lele and Hatterene. Mandibuzz gets rid of entry hazards with Defog, checks physical attackers such as Buzzwole and Scizor, and safely brings Weavile in with U-turn. Sableye disrupts threatening sweepers such as Bulk Up Cinderace, Iron Defense Kommo-o, and Bulk Up or Iron Defense Corviknight using its immunity to Fighting. Swords Dance Bisharp deals with bulky setup sweepers such as Hatterene and Clefable and loves Weavile pressuring fast threats such as Galarian Zapdos, Dragonite, and Hydreigon, which prevent Bisharp from sweeping Flying and Dragon teams. It also breaks through Toxapex for Weavile and itself to clean Poison teams late-game.

Other Options
=============
Dark
--------
Never-Melt Ice may be used on Swords Dance sets to OHKO Dragapult, Alolan Raichu, and Galarian Zapdos with +2 Ice Shard, as well as 2HKOing Corviknight, Celesteela, and Ferrothorn with +2 Icicle Crash. Wide Lens may also be considered to improve Triple Axel's accuracy, but forgoing Heavy-Duty Boots mandates an additional entry hazard controller for Weavile like Taunt Grimmsnarl, Taunt Krookodile, or Defog Mandibuzz. Poison Jab may be considered in the Choice Band set, as it pressures Tapu Fini and Alolan Ninetales, but Low Kick threatening Steel- and Ice-types such as Melmetal and Kyurem is generally more useful. Choice Scarf may be used for Weavile to deal with threats such as Choice Scarf Galarian Zapdos, Choice Scarf Terrakion, and Regieleki, but its damage output is underwhelming, and Choice Scarf Zarude covers Choice Scarf users such as Urshifu-R, Tapu Lele, and Excadrill better.
