Weezing stands as one of the best defensive walls in the PU metagame thanks to its amazing bulk, ability, and defensive typing. Weezing separates itself from other defensive pivots thanks to its great support movepool and ability to check a plethora of physical attackers including Gurdurr, Kangaskhan, Togedemaru, and Primeape, punishing them by making them take Rocky Helmet damage In addition to checking prominent attackers, Weezing is often used due to the useful utility it provides through Taunt, which allows it to pressure defensive archetypes immensely. Furthermore, Weezing is the best Toxic Spikes user in the tier, and it can come in against common balance staples such as Ferroseed and Clefairy and force them out, which gives it a free turn to set up Toxic Spikes. While Weezing does have many positive attributes, it lacks reliable recovery outside of Pain Split, meaning it can be worn down quickly, and it also lets in a good amount of special attackers for free such as Aurorus, Mesprit, and Pyroar, so help from teammates like Eelektross and Hitmonchan will benefit Weezing.
