[Overview]
- Prankster and Huge support movepool
- Dark and Ground resistance somewhat key
- Huge disadvantages in Flying and Fire weaknesses, Pdon and Mega Mence kinda annihilate it.
- Huge competition with Klefki, but Ground resistance and access to extra moves such as Taunt, Encore, Memento, and U-turn help make it a lot less predictable.
- Great generic check to set-up sweepers lacking priority, due to Prankster Encore.
-Decent CM Latias/Latios check due to Encore, Dragon immunity, and passable mixed bulk.
[SET]
name: Prankster Utility
move 1: Stun Spore
move 2: Encore
move 3: Taunt
move 4: U-turn
item: Leftovers
ability: Prankster
nature: Impish
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
[SET COMMENTS]
- Moveset is general good utility moves. Encore prevents opponents from set-up sweeping
- Taunt prevents hazards from going up.
- Stun Spore cripples the many offensively-inclined Pokemon in the metagame (albeit often at the cost of itself), neutering threats such as Mega Salamence before it can KO it.
- U-turn is a momentum-stealing move, working nicely in conjunction with its fantastic base 116 Speed.
- Memento is an option to allow teammates set-up opportunities, as well as make it even more difficult to set up upon.
[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]
- EVd to outspeed max Speed base 110s, mainly unevolved Gengar, Latias, and Latios.
- Partners that handle Yveltal and Darkrai without having overlap is a good place to start when building with it. Tyranitar and Arceus-Dark are good examples. Tyranitar is particularly good as Whimsicott is Mega-Gengar weak, and Pursuit helps it continue to function, as well as checking Ho-oh (since Whimsicott is huge Ho-oh bait too).
- Very customisable to a team's specific needs.
[Other Options]
- Moonblast and Grass Knot as STABs, but it's quite weak offensively, and it's just more horridly walled by Ho-oh.
- Toxic to hit Ho-oh and Primal Groudon.
[Checks and Counters]
not sure rly, suggestions from QC team?
