NOC Working Title Mafia (Game Thread) [Mafia Wins]

Votecount 5.af - dl
StupidFlandrs48 (6) - Catfries, Redless, des121, ElectricityCat
des121 (2) - StupidFlandrs48

If you call Flandrs stupid 48 times, he dies. Weird that he'd contain his own achilles heel in his username.

Hello, USER1, StupidFlandrs48, and USER3. You are the Mafia.

Between the three of you, you have a nightly kill that can be assigned to anyone. Select one of you and a target, and the target will die.

USER1 is the Vote Negator, who may select a target to set their vote value to 0, even if they lock their Vote. This does not work on the Werewolf. Your target will not be informed that their vote is now worth 0. This effect lasts one day.
StupidFlandrs48 is the Rolecop. Pick a target and find their role. This will detect the Village Backups, even if they don't know their own power yet. As an information role, you will be notfied if the Jailkeeper stops you from completing this effect.
USER3 is the Backup. If either other of you dies, they may elect to pick up the dead role. This is permanent once chosen, but you only lock it in once your night action is resolved.

Any of you may both kill and perform a night action.

You win if the Village and the Werewolf are both eliminated while at least one of you remains, or if nothing can prevent the same.

Night 5 Deadline: https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/roadtrip?iso=20240802T16&p0=779&font=cursive

Catfries has been found dead. Whether by cat or by fries, up to you to decide.

You are a Vanilla Town, of the Village.

One of eight nine. Your strength is in your numbers. Two of your kind have been secretly chosen as Backups in case a villager with power dies.

You win if the Mafia and the Werewolf are eliminated with at least one town remaining.

Did you see what I did 1 minute before the deadline? It didn’t matter because hours earlier I had already locked my vote on Flandrs. But I did it to emphasize and show you the danger of not locking your vote. If Catfries had been Mafia, they could have made that move, and we would have lost. The same thing could happen today. It’s important to lock the vote so it counts as double. Ideally, this should be done at least a few hours before the deadline to avoid any mistakes.

Alright. But any thoughts because us 3 left.

yeah I was 100% there would be you redless and me today.

It was clear that the Mafia was going to voluntarily give up Flandrs yesterday. And the only people who locked their votes yesterday were Redless and me.

This means that after the voting, Catfries had a 100% chance of not being Mafia. Because he was the only person besides you who hadn't locked his vote and didn't suddenly change it at the last moment like I mentioned in the previous post. Do you understand what I mean?

Ya

So I honestly think this might depend a bit on you.

I have to take care of some IRL matters now, so I’ll be away for a few hours. But the theme of this final day will likely be Redless and me presenting our points and thoughts. And finally, you deciding at the end of the day who to vote for.

It sounds like a lot of responsibility, and maybe it is, but if you have to vote for me or Redless, do it without fear (as long as it is what you believe is correct). Try to re-read each person’s arguments, pay attention to what each of us says, and make a sincere and coherent decision.

Alright

Going into last night, I was pretty sure catfries was the other mafia member. But with the way things shook out, it seems like that isn't the case.

Honestly, I think that des is more likely to be scum than ecat at this point, going off of gut feels.

I haven't inherited any power roles this whole game. If someone else has, maybe they can claim them.

I'll be rereading the votals etc. soon/tonight in order to hopefully get a better handle on who I want to suspect and why others should think I'm innocent.

I reread some important parts of the thread, and it's frustrated me in terms of figuring out which of the other two survivors to trust.

In terms of trusting me, I want to point out day 2, when two confirmed scum voted and locked me as a counterwagon when the main wagon was town. This is kind of insane for them to do if I'm their scummate.

I tried to do a quick read through of more or less all the pages. I read very superficially up to page 50. But I can't find much content from Joey/Flandrs that gives any clues.

It's almost as if Flandrs hasn't been playing, he dropped votes somewhat randomly. Joey was making very similar reads to ours, reading Redless and me as scum initially. But when I was generally able to build trust and show interest in solving, both started reading me as town, trying to pocket me I guess. I think that's the only thing I can highlight in my favor from everything I read. But it's not a big deal.

I don't know what to think, honestly. It's almost midnight in my country, so I'll try to look for clues.

My preference is that others construct a case or present some evidence for why I shouldn't vote them. If you want, that can mean saying the reason I should vote the other person (or that the other person should vote me).

I put forth my note that flandrs/joey locked me on d2. I was runner up when a villager was the lynch target. If you think I'm their scummate this is very hard to explain.

Alright good morning Redless and ElectricityCat

I would like to hear your thoughts about me and each other.

Good morning Des,

My thoughts haven't changed much for now. I'm going to see if I can follow Redless' suggestion and do some self-investigation to see what I can highlight about myself that might help you all decide your vote.

Anyway, what I've been carrying over from previous days is that you've generally given me a strong town vibe from start to finish. I don't know if I trusted you too much, but I never felt like you did anything suspicious. I'll still try to look through your posts later to confirm.

Regarding Redless, my reads have been a roller coaster. At the beginning of the game, I thought he was Mafia/WW, then I assumed he was the WW, then I believed he was town, and then I started to distrust him again. I don't know, sometimes he behaves like town and makes a pretty solid post, but his reads on players have puzzled me on some occasions. I would have liked to see him more active, that way, I could have read his intentions better.
