Rosa Alakazam Boat is 3 SS 1 SM still an option? It quite frankly makes absolutely no sense to have the same amount of ss as sm - especially after DLC dropped. Bo3o5 is fine and provides another opportunity to play SM, just like ORAS.
I understand there's a lot of good sm players to fill the spots, and we're fresh off sm and ss isn't the most liked but dlc definitely made people like SS more and was absolutely a breath of fresh air. More SS slots very shortly after DLC seems cool as it allows more members of the team to explore and develop the new SS meta. It honestly still baffles me that the same amount of SS and SM was ever planned. You could make the case that there are 3 chances to play SS but there also is in SM? It just doesn't make much sense.
Although I am not able to participate in the upcoming world cup, others have expressed the same feelings as me. Thanks!

To me, it simply doesn't make any sense that CG has the same # of slots as an OG. Like it or not, SS is the tier in need of more development and has a large player base. The argument for 2 SS 2 SM is that it's the best of both worlds I'm assuming but you have to keep in mind that Bo3o5 essentially means that SS-ORAS all have another Bo5 to build for. Leaving it where you basically have 3 SS and 3 SM which to me feels kinda absurd since a lot of people I have talked to have expressed issues w/ building for SM, even some likely to be slotted in Bo3o5 expressing that they won't build SM on their own. I think that the focus should be shifted to developing SS. I know this sounds pretty awkward from someone who wasn't around when SM was CG but I do think that the sacrifice of having to turn some of the dedicated SM playerbase into team support is worth focusing on developing SS and featuring up-and-comers. Peace.

I am echoing the idea of another CG, but i think it would be better to replace the 15 teams slot.
I never really got the hype for any form of a Best of x of x. I never got why a budget version of our Classic Playoffs should be a format in a team tour.
I am not a big fan of the SS metagame (which is widely known), but i still think that 2 GC are way too less in any case. WCoP is a great way to explore the metagame with more depth and way faster than it would normally get explored. It would help, since people would have a good reason to build and could prep some techs. The argument, that SS is included in the Bo3o5 isnt really valid for me, since the player has to focus on building for two very different other gens and can't concentrate on building interesting stuff for the CG.
I wouldn't touch SM or ORAS. SM has two very competititve slots, which no team should struggle to fill. PL showed that SM still is many peoples favourite to play, watch and build and that there isnt really a need to shorten the slots. ORAS only has 1 spot, which should be untouchable for the near future.
It also is completely ridiculous to build 45 teams in pools, which you have to do, to be prepared properly.

What really baffles is me is that the discussion was started on May 23rd and no one decided to oppose it, but everyone was in favor, posts were liked etc but after it was announced by the "Tournament dictators" people started to complain without being much vocal or even bothering to discuss. Now 1 week before the signups everyone woke up to oppose lol.
I really don't care about what slot were putting or removing in the end, but come on you had enough time to discuss/oppose it before implementation, why do you remember last minute.
On another note, I'd remove an SM. And make the bo5o3 old gens sm oras bw, but irdc at this point
