Signups are coming in a week (2 weeks ?), after the Captains signups, and these captains are gonna choose their teams with the eligible players that they have in the pool. So it depends only on them to chose the team. And for you to choose a team, it's gonna depend on your eligibility (from the IP).

Time to make my first and only campaign statement for US South to show I'm not trying to be a complete meme sign up
I obviously know that I would best serve as a sub, since I'm not amazing in a particular gen but can play gens 6/7 with some proficiency (25th on gen 7 ladder once and around top 100 on gen 6 ladder once). I also have decent ladder performances in gen 4. I can also serve as a flexible sub if US South is ever in a dire player availability situation due to my eclectic track record.
