SM NU WP Incin

Introduction

Inspired by SANJAY's Incineroar set (at least I think it's his; sorry if he got it from someone else too, but it sounded like he thought it up himself), I wanted to make my own team around it after seeing it in action a few times.

@

Ability- Intimidate
EVs- 120 HP | 220 Atk | 168 Spe
Nature- Adamant
Flame Charge | Power Trip | Bulk Up | Drain Punch

As it turns out, SANJAY's Incineroar was simply max HP/max Spe, Jolly. At the time, I thought it must've been max Atk, Adamant, which is why my stat spread looks so much different. I chose to alter the spread to better fit my playstyle. The 168 Spe is mainly for the Toxicroak matchup, allowing it to outspeed after 1 Flame Charge, while the 220 Atk is mainly for the Steelix matchup, 2HKOing the standard set with Flame Charge/Drain Punch after just the WP boost (or 2 Bulk Ups if they choose to not go for EQ). I generally like to keep HP as low as possible when I'm running Drain Punch, but it does need more bulk, and 120 HP seems to be enough for now.

@

Ability- Intimidate
EVs- 252 HP | 4 Def | 252 SpD
IVs- 0 Atk
Nature- Calm
Baby-Doll Eyes | Snarl | Volt Switch | Thunder Wave

This is a full on support Luxray. It's used as the primary switch-in to offensive threats. It lowers their Atk/SpA with Baby-Doll Eyes/Snarl and then Volt Switches out to better check/counter. Furfrou may also work in this slot, having access to Baby-Doll Eyes, Snarl, and U-turn, but I wanted the extra Intimidate that Luxray offers.

@

Ability- Thick Fat -> Guts
EVs- 244 Atk | 12 Def | 252 SpD
Nature- Adamant
Close Combat | Bullet Punch | Knock Off | Earthquake

This mon has become my main anti-lead, Knocking Off Eviolite leads like Rhydon, and taking out various hazard setter leads like Lycanroc-Midday, Aurorus, and Garbodor. It also functions as my second SpD wall. 244+ Atk is enough to 2HKO defensive Garbodor w/ EQ, so the rest might as well go into Def just in case it needs to survive a physical hit better.

@

Ability- Water Absorb
EVs- 188 HP | 248 Def | 72 SpA
IVs- 0 Atk
Nature- Modest
Wish | Scald | Heal Bell | Roar -> Protect

I use Vaporeon mainly for Wish support. Most of my mons aren't running any recovery after all. It also serves as my cleric and phaser. This may be too much for a single mon to be responsible for.
Edit: I rearranged the EV spread. 72+ SpA always lets this mon break Braviary's Sub w/ Scald, and 188 HP gives it the next highest Leftovers number.

@

Ability- Prankster
EVs- 252 SpA | 4 SpD | 252 Spe
Nature- Timid
U-turn | Defog | Giga Drain | Moonblast

This is the same Whimsicott from my previous NU RMT, but this time it has a Rocky Helmet on to punish obvious Fake Outs & U-turns of NU. The second reason I'm running Helmet over Terrain Extender is because I'm also running Thunder Wave on Luxray and Scald on Vaporeon. I'm also using this mon as my Defogger because hazards hurt me a lot more than they did for my previous team. Misty Terrain once again helps my set up sweepers avoid status that would ruin their sweep.
Edit: This is now an offensive Defogger w/ Life Orb to give my team some more special presence. I'm using the suggested teambuilder spread for now.

@

Ability- Unburden
EVs- 248 HP | 252 Atk | 8 Def
Nature- Adamant
Swords Dance | Leaf Blade | Acrobatics | Drain Punch -> Earthquake

Since I'm already using Whimsicott, I figured I'd splash in this totally splashable set up sweeper. It works the exact same way on any team with a Whimsicott/Meowstic-M, aka the Prankster MT setters. I'm thinking of running EQ over Drain Punch this time just for the higher BP. For a slightly more in-depth explanation of how these last two mons work together, please refer to my previous NU RMT, located here: https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/lets-talk-about-terrains-in-the-lower-tiers-feat-misty-seed-sceptile-in-nu.3629430/

@

Ability- Rock Head
EVs- 252 HP | 16 Atk | 240 SpD
Nature- Careful
Stealth Rock | Earthquake | Rock Blast | Swords Dance

Suggested by Chokepic, Rhydon is now my main switch-in to most physical attackers and Fire-types. My team also needed SR support to limit opponents' switches, which this mon provides. I'm using the standard Smogon Tank set. Swords Dance works well, allowing it to break walls.

Ability- Levitate
EVs- 248 HP | 200 SpA | 60 Spe
IVs- 0 Atk
Nature- Modest
Bug Buzz | Volt Switch | Energy Ball | Flash Cannon

Also suggested by Chokepic, Vik covers my Fighting weakness, now that Whimsi is offensive and can't take any hits. I had a lot of trouble deciding which Vik set to use. I tried Lefties w/ Roost, but ended up wanting to either attack or switch rather than recovering. I also tried Specs, but hated being locked in, especially w/ Stealth Rock up. AV not only allows me to survive a Fire Blast from Delphox/Houndoom, etc. (Just barely, but it's a guaranteed 2HKO), get a slow, powerful Volt Switch off, and bring in an appropriate check; it also gives me room to run Flash Cannon, which is honestly my only way of damaging Fairies outside of Incin's 200+ BP Power Trip. And good luck setting up w/ Incin against a Fairy not named Diancie.
Edit: I took some EVs out of Spe, leaving enough to outspeed base 50s like Diancie and Mega Audino. I'm happy w/ this moveset, but I still can't decide the item. Steelium Z worked to OHKO the Fairies mentioned as long as they didn't have a Calm Mind up. Lefties and AV aren't bad, but they're definitely more passive.

Conclusion

I think this team works fairly well to allow Incin and Scept to set up safely. However, whittling down defensive mons to prepare the sweep can be challenging when my only other offensive mon is Hariyama. If anyone has any suggestions to improve this team, please let me know.

Cheers!

Grass/Poison-types (Venusaur, Victreebel, Vileplume) - I only have Flame Charge to hit them, which is at best a 2HKO for all of them. And they can sometimes 2HKO back w/ a non-super effective Sludge Bomb.

Calm Mind Fairies (Aromatisse, Mega Audino, Comfey, Diancie) - Steelium Z Vikavolt is currently my only way of beating them, but if they set up even a single CM, my chances of OHKOing them drop down to 0 (save for Diancie). Out of these four, Comfey is the most dangerous b/c since the fastest, it can set up one CM right before my Z-move, and has a chance to survive my following Flash Cannon after Draining Kissing its health back.

Hey! I will take a look at this:

First, you dont have a stealth rock user, which is mandatory for every team. Luxray is horrible so here you have your first change, Rhydon > Luxray. Rhydon provides stealth rock and a switch in for fires in general, specially non-grass delphox as well as a mon which scouts Stoutland, that is very annoying

Vikavolt > Sceptile: Although running 2 grasses isnt that bad, it is not optimal. You are really weak to fighting types (tho with vikavolt you are still weak to sub bu medi) and it completes a volturn core with whimsicott.

Change your whimsicott set: While I understand the idea of rocky helmet, i would change it to lo and change its moves to Giga Drain/Defog/Moonblast/U-turn. It would be good if we could fit memento there for helping incin to sweep, but it hasnt got 6 moves :(

Thats all I have to say!

By lo, you meant Life Orb on Whimsicott, right? That's quite a change from a defensive set. What EV spread do you recommend? I'm using the NU Specs spread. I kind of miss Encore, and I'm thinking of putting that back on over Giga Drain.

How does the Vikavolt set look? Modest base 145 SpA reaches its final jump at 216 EVs, and I want HP as high as possible for AV to be more useful. I'm running Flash Cannon for Fairies like Aromatisse, Audino-Mega, and Diancie b/c previously, my best way of dealing w/ them was a high BP Power Trip. Was that a good call, or should I stick w/ Thunderbolt?

I moved Roar from Vaporeon to Rhydon just to reduce some of its responsibility, and gave Vap Protect instead. But now it feels like Vap is the weakest link. I'm now thinking of keeping Roar on both mons just to put more pressure on greedy set up sweepers. What's your opinion on that? Or do I have a better option than Vap for a Wish passer?

Thanks for your help!

Run 252 hp, 76 spe and the rest on spa. Av is really bad tbh, run leftovers with roost over flash cannon. The whimsi set is ok and don's one too but i would consider running sd or even pursuit, roar is usually useless unless it is for a hazard stack team. You can consider running toxic over heal bell on vapo, but heal bell is ok.

SD was a really good call on don. I'm really enjoying that.

Vikavolt was quite the headache though. I first tried the NU Tank set, but it didn't hit hard enough, and it didn't take hits as well as its title implied. And I never found the opportunity to click Roost, so it was just like having 3 average hitting attacks. Why is that the first set on Vik's NU page anyway?

I also didn't like the Specs set b/c it was too easy for the opponent to play around. Vik sure hates being locked in.

That's why I settled on AV. Plus, I enjoy surviving Charizard's Fire Blast and KOing back w/ Volt Switch. The spread you mentioned does work well for AV. The spread I'm using now is 248 HP / 184+ SpA / 76 Spe.

The only thing I'm questioning now is the 76 Spe. Since no one's running Brave Incin anymore (at least, all the Incins I encountered were outspeeding me, and had Flare Blitz over Fire Blast), what's the next fastest thing my Vik needs to outspeed? If possible, I kind of want to put it all back into SpA.
