Xurkitree @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Energy Ball
- Dazzling Gleam

No Tail Glow? No problem! Even without Tail Glow and Hidden Power, Xurkitree is a menacing wallbreaker in RU. Energy Ball tears apart Ground-types like Rhyperior, Gastrodon, and Golurk. Dazzling Gleam lets it damages Dragon-types like Flygon and Tyrantrum as well as Zarude, RU's most common Grass-type. Generation 8 brought it Heavy-Duty Boots, which lets it consistently survive strong attacks like Noivern's Draco Meteor and Zarude's Power Whip by avoiding entry hazard damage. Opponents are forced to desperately pivot around its excellent coverage until they can bring in something faster than Xurkitree; when that faster threat cannot OHKO Xurkitree, it is a nightmare to deal with! Spikes support from Roserade or Golisopod makes it even scarier, wearing down solid checks like Assault Vest Reuniclus and Steelix. Opposing Roserade checks Xurkitree well, so Crobat is helpful to threaten it out. Crobat and other pivots can form a Volt-Turn core that gives the bundle of wires even more chances to shine!
