Sticky X/Y Sprite Project

I followed the dream art
Huh, so it does bend. Still, the fact that it's in the exact same pose as regular Salamence with a super similar silhouette makes it look... cheap. Like it's very clearly just the regular Salamence sprite with extra bits added on. Looking through sprites/gen5, a few other megas also have this problem, namely Aerodactyl, Absol, Garchomp, Lucario, and sort of Houndoom (it's not as bad with Houndoom).

With how good so many of the other custom sprites are, these stick out like a thumb that just got a door slammed onto it.
 
To be fair though, is it really worth spriting a whole new body for a pokemon when upon mega evolving, its body doesnt change? I dont see the problem in them being edited sprites, it makes the animation transition look pretty clean from my experience.

I couldn't see salamence having another pose without feeling like a DPPT sprite.

Most of the Gen5 sprites are already just Gen4 that constantly move, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And if you're going for a clean transition, don't only do it for a few and then make the rest completely custom.
 
While that may be true, something like Venusaur from HGSS couldn't be easily animated due to its pose, nor would it fit in BW style battles. Idk that's just my take on it.

I get what you mean about Salamance, since it’s in a gliding pose, but I don’t even know how that would transition into a sprite without looking awkward
 
It all depends on how different the design is. It makes more sense to make Lucario from the original sprite, but then make something like Abomasnow or Diancie from scratch. Not everything can use the base

If I recall correctly the original Mega Salamence sprite that was in use here had a very similar pose to leparagon's.

I guess you're right. It's just so weird looking at next to say Mega Altaria.
dont forget sprite sizes aren't consistent. a lot of official sprites have weird sizes next to each other. gen5 sprites are more focused on keeping the proportions. sizes of their extra forms are derived from the regular forms, so it's really gonna look weird sometimes. thats just the nature of the style due to the size limitations

Hey, I was wondering if the Gen 6 sprite project could get a 'download all' like the Gen 7 and Gen 8 Projects have?
Would it be possible to create a download-all with what's currently available? Or maybe another way to efficiently download all of the sprites?
It takes a lot of time and effort to put all the sprites into one download, and even more time to optimize each.
Better to only do it once than to do it every time the sheet is updated.
I can totally relate to your impatience, but we've all gotta drop it since nothing we do or say will get this done any quicker.
Be grateful for the option that has been made available (i.e., the spreadsheet).

furfrou sprites are not really "new". i used the old furfrou sprites since people agreed they looked nicer than current ones
more people preferred noivern on the ground. so the flying pose will be used as part of the animation instead

in case anyone asks again, the gen6 sprites don't have a "download all" link yet for reasons mentioned in OPStellar's reply. they will be compiled once i get all the sprite fixes done just like gen7 and gen8

the pink links in the spreadsheet are imgur images. these are the ones that are gonna be edited and uploaded here, so they aren't final yet. the grey links are smogon images, these are the finalized ones
