Moves

Seismitoad has an easier time setting up Stealth Rock, as it effectively threatens opposing entry hazard setters and forms of entry hazard control like Rhydon, Steelix, Xatu, and Rotom. Hydro Pump hits Pokemon like Rotom, Weezing, and Incineroar for heavy damage and weakens your opponent's team significantly if unresisted. Hydro Pump, when boosted by Waterium Z, OHKOes Xatu. Earth Power hits Pokemon like Blastoise, Druddigon, and Heliolisk that resist or are immune to Hydro Pump. Knock Off mainly makes Pokemon like Golbat and Blastoise easier to wear down, removing their Eviolite and Leftovers. Toxic is another viable fourth move, allowing Seismitoad to cripple metagame staples like Slowking, Comfey, Vaporeon, and Dhelmise. Sludge Bomb can also be used over Knock Off, as it lets Seismitoad OHKO Whimsicott and 2HKO Grass-types like Alolan Exeggutor and Sceptile while potentially crippling common switch-ins like Slowking and Decidueye. However, it is not as consistently useful as Knock Off or Toxic.

Set Details
========

252 EVs in Speed and Special Attack with a Modest nature give Seismitoad the most firepower it can get while still outspeeding a key target in Incineroar. Waterium Z enables Seismitoad to get past entry hazard control like Xatu and Rotom by OHKOing said targets with Hydro Vortex and gives it a safe option if you don't want to worry about missing Hydro Pump. Hydro Vortex also often catches Pokemon like Weezing and Pangoro off guard thinking they can set up relatively safely. Water Absorb gives Seismitoad a Water immunity, making it a relatively safe switch-in to Water-types like Blastoise and Vaporeon and helping it check Heliolisk better. Although, players must be wary of Toxic from the aforementioned Water-types.

Usage Tips
========

This particular set is best used as a lead and is able to scare out a number of Pokemon. Use Seismitoad's offensive presence to force out opposing Pokemon and gain an opportunity to set up Stealth Rock, preferably as soon as possible. With Waterium Z, Seismitoad threatens common leads, often Stealth Rock users like Rhydon, Steelix, and Palossand. Predicting an incoming Golbat and going for Knock Off, thus removing its Eviolite, offers great utility for your team. In the same vein, removing an incoming Whimsicott's Choice Specs greatly reduces its damage output. This set doesn't have the bulk to take a lot of hits. Keep this in mind when switching in, even against resisted moves like Delphox's Fire Blast and Aerodactyl's Stone Edge. Try to time the usage of Hydro Vortex correctly. It has good surprise value and works best on Pokemon with uninvested special bulk like Weezing, Xatu, and Vikavolt.

Team Options
========

Other entry hazard setters like Garbodor and Ferroseed appreciate Seismitoad's ability to remove entry hazard control and checks to these Pokemon like Xatu and Rotom. Garbodor in particular forms a good entry hazard core with Seismitoad. Garbodor takes care of Grass-types, while Seismitoad gets rid of Ground-types. Seismitoad can pave the way for physically offensive Pokemon like Passimian and Togedemaru by removing checks like Weezing and Vikavolt with a potent Hydro Vortex. In return, Togedemaru helps Seismitoad deal with Rock-types and is also an answer to Flying-types, which makes up for Seismitoad's lack of a Flying resistance. Flying-types like Aerodactyl, Sigilyph, and Vivillon take care of Grass-types hindering Seismitoad. Seismitoad offers itself as a Rock-resistant and Electric-immune teammate in exchange.

  • Seismitoad has an easier time setting up stealth rock has it effectively threatens opposing hazard setters and removers. maybe list some removers Seismitoad has a good matchup against. I'd put specific emphasis on Xatu
  • Hydro pump is Seismitoad' strongest STAB move and weakens your opponents team significantly if unresisted. "strongest stab" is filler, better to note targets for Hydro Pump instead
  • Earth power hits pokemon like blastoise and druddigon that resist its hydro pump.
  • Sludge Bomb Seismitoad's best coverage move, 2hkoing grass types like Alolan Exeggutor and Sceptile while also potentially crippling common switchins like Slowking and Decidueye.
  • Knock Off can be used over Sludge Bomb as 3rd attacking move. Knock Off mainly makes Pokemon like Golbat and Blastoise unable to take hits properly, losing Eviolite and Leftovers respectively.
  • Toxic is another viable 4th alternative move. Toxic lets you cripple meta staples like Slowking, Comfey and Dhelmise. you could list Vaporeon here too ig

  • Waterium Z enables Seismitoad to get past hazard control like Xatu and Rotom. Hydro Vortex can be used as a safe option if you don't want to worry about mssing Hydro Pump. Hydro Vortex often catches Pokemon like Weezing or Pangoro off guard thinking they can set up relatively safely.
  • Water Absorb gives Seismitoad a Water-type immunity making it a safe switchin to Water-types like Blastoise and Vaporeon. also helps it check Heliolisk better. I also wouldn't say Seismitoad is a safe switch-in to Water-types like those two; they run Toxic rather commonly. Slowking and Samurott would be better examples imo
  • 252 EVs in Speed and Special Attack with a Modest nature gives Seismitoad the most firepower it can get while still outspeeing key target Incineroar.

Usage Tips
========
  • This particular set is able to scare out a number of Pokemon. Use this as an opportunity to set up Stealth Rock, preferably as soon as possible.
  • Seismitoad often offers Grass-types like Alolan Exeggutor and Dhelmise a relatively free switch-in. Predicting correctly and nailing them on the switch with Sludge Bomb 2HKOs the former while potentially crippling the latter with Poison damage. Sludge Bomb is deslashed, so talk about Knock Off crippling certain switch-ins ig.
  • Unlike other Seismitoad sets, this set doesn't have the bulk to take a lot of hits. Keep this in mind when switching in, even against resisted moves. resisted hits from what Pokemon?
  • This set variant is best used as a lead. With Waterium Z, it threatens common leads, often Stealth Rock users, like Rhydon, Steelix and Palossand. this bullet should be merged with the first imo.
  • Try to time the usage of the Z-move correctly. It has a good surprise value and works best on Pokemon with uninvested special bulk like like...?

  • Other hazard setters like Garbodor and Ferroseed appreciate Seismitoad's ability to remove hazard control and checks to these Pokemon like Xatu and Rotom. these two also check Grass-types for Seismitoad, which is very nice
  • Garbodor in particular forms a good hazard core with Seismitoad. Garbodor takes care of Grass-types for Seismitoad while Seismitoad gets rid of Ground-types for Garbodor. yea this bullet can just go with the previous
  • Seismitoad can pave the way for physically offensive Pokemon like Passimian and Togedemaru by removing their checks like Weezing and Vikavolt with a potent Hydro Vortex. Togedemaru also provides these teams with a Flying-type check, which is pretty important tbh. both also provide a secondary Rock-type check, which is also important, particularly with this set.
  • Flying-types like Aerodactyl take care of Grass-types hindering Seismitoad. Seismitoad offers Flying-types a Rock-type resist and an Electric immunity in exchange. list some other Flying-types here too.

  • Hydro Pump hits Pokemon like Rotom, Weezing and Incineroar for heavy damage and weakens your opponents team significantly if unresisted. Explicitely mention Xatu here (aka you OHKO it with Z-move)
  • Earth power hits pokemon like Blastoise and Druddigon that resist its hydro pump.
  • Knock Off mainly makes Pokemon like Golbat and Blastoise unable to take hits properly, losing Eviolite and Leftovers respectively. I'd rephrase to making it far easier to wear them down
  • Toxic is another viable 4th alternative move. Toxic lets you cripple meta staples like Slowking, Comfey, Vaporeon and Dhelmise.
  • Sludge Bomb can be used over Knock Off. It lets Seismitoad 2HKO grass types like Alolan Exeggutor and Sceptile while also potentially crippling common switchins like Slowking and Decidueye. Mention Whims (swapped order with toxic as that is less niche)

"Seismitoad has an easier time setting up Stealth Rock as it effectively threatens opposing hazard setters and removers like Xatu." Xatu is neither a setter nor a remover; I'd rephrase the examples list to go something like "Steelix and Rotom as well as Xatu" to separate it from those two ideas while providing some examples of setters and removers.

Knock Off mainly makes Pokemon like Golbat and Blastoise easier to wear down, removing their Eviolite and Leftovers,(RC) respectively. Toxic is another viable 4th alternative fourth move, allowing Seismitoad to cripple metagame staples like Slowking, Comfey, Vaporeon, and Dhelmise. Sludge Bomb can also be used over Knock Off, as it lets Seismitoad OHKO Whimsicott and 2HKO Grass-types like Alolan Exeggutor and Sceptile while also potentially crippling common switch-ins like Slowking and Decidueye. However, it is not as consistently useful as Knock Off or Toxic. (as nu c&c man I am requiring this sentence here)

252 EVs in Speed and Special Attack with a Modest nature give Seismitoad the most firepower it can get while still outspeeding a key target in Incineroar. Waterium Z enables Seismitoad to get past entry hazard control like Xatu and Rotom by OHKOing said targets.(RP) Hydro Vortex can be used as with Hydro Vortex and gives it a safe option if you don't want to worry about missing Hydro Pump and.(AP) Hydro Vortex also often catches Pokemon like Weezing or and Pangoro off guard thinking they can set up relatively safely.(restructured these sentences for better organization of information and so it didn't read like a usage tip) Water Absorb gives Seismitoad a Water-type Water immunity, making it a relatively safe switch-in to Water-types like Blastoise and Vaporeon and helping it check Heliolisk better. Although, players must be wary of Toxic from the aforementioned Water-types. 252 EVs in Speed and Special Attack with a Modest nature give Seismitoad the most firepower it can get while still outspeeing a key target in Incineroar.(generally EVs + nature get mentioned first, so this is being done more for consistency than anything else)

Keep this in mind when switching in, even against resisted moves like Delphox's Fire Blast and Aerodactyl's Stone Edge. Try to time the usage of Hydro Vortex correctly. It has a good surprise value and works best on Pokemon with uninvested special bulk like Weezing, Xatu, and Vikavolt.

Other entry hazard setters like Garbodor and Ferroseed appreciate Seismitoad's ability to remove entry hazard control and checks to these Pokemon like Xatu and Rotom. Garbodor in particular forms a good entry hazard core with Seismitoad. Garbodor takes care of Grass-types for Seismitoad, while Seismitoad gets rid of Ground-types for Garbodor. Seismitoad can pave the way for physically offensive Pokemon like Passimian and Togedemaru by removing their checks like Weezing and Vikavolt with a potent Hydro Vortex,(RC) while.(AP) In return, Togedemaru helps Seismitoad deal with Rock-types and is also an answer to Flying-types, which makes up for Seismitoad's lack of a Flying resistance.(I think communication between deetah and I got scuffed somewhere. I think it's necessary to keep this bit here. I also moved the next sentence's contents into this one for btter flow/organization)) This is important because Seismitoad doesn't have the same traits as Steelix and Rhydon regarding Flying-types. Flying-types like Aerodactyl, Sigilyph, and Vivillon take care of Grass-types hindering Seismitoad. Seismitoad offers itself as a Rock-resistant and Electric-immune teammate for the Flying-types and an Electric immunity in exchange.
