[SET COMMENTS]
This specific set is intended to sweep your opponent late game. With the likes of its outstanding ability, Swords Dance just enhances it enhances it even more and grants it to hit so incredibly hard against of the most common defensive walls in the metagame. Crunch is the spotlight here, focusing on weakening defensive or semi-defensive Necrozma-Dusk-Manes. And Z-Crunch allows you to OHKO full defense invested Necrozma-Dusk-Mane at +3 Attack and also removes have of its HP when dynamaxed too! Play Rough is a strong STAB move that can also hit defensive threats to this monster such as Arceus-Ground. Wild Charge is to cripple defensive Ho-Ohs along with hurting defensive Arceus-Waters.
Zacian likes to be on a team where duel hazards are an option along with multiple Knock Off users. Partners such as Ferrothorn and Primal-Groudon are excellent hazard setters and pokemon such as Necrozma-Dusk-Mane, along with Ferrothorn again, are great Knock Off users enabling them to bait in threats such as Ho-Oh. Ditto is very threatening and sort of forces Zacian to act as a late game sweeper, so having a defensive Arceus-Ground and/or Necrozma-Dusk-Mane are extremely helpful when facing the Ditto match-up.
[SET]
name: Choice Band
move 1: Play Rough
move 2: Wild Charge
move 3: Close Combat
move 4: Crunch
item: Choice Band
ability: Intrepid Sword
nature: Jolly / Adament
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Spd / 252 Spe
[SET COMMENTS]
This powerhouse is meant to weaken defensive walls and force recovery. Banded Zacian may hit harder than Zacian-Crowned, but being locked into a single move plus with the worse speed stat and not having that added steel typing, it is better off to use Zacian-Crowned over the banded set of regular Zacian. Play Rough is a strong STAB attack that hits more Arceus forms extremely hard along with having coverage for defensive Zygarde. Wilde Charge is specifically for defensive Ho-Ohs, it will always 2HKO and will still be a threat if they dynamax it. Close Combat is for any defensive Steel type such as Arceus-Steel or Ferrothorn. Close Combat can also be used to help severely weaken opposing Zacian-Crowns. Crunch helps dismantle the likes of defensive Necrozma-Dusk-Mane and potentially hit Shedninjas.
Zacian-Crowned is a much better option than this specific set of regular Zacian. This set should be treated the same as a regular Zacian-Crowned set and have the same backbone of defensive checks for opposing Dittos along with having multiple means of laying up hazards and providing defensive coverage. Pokemon such as Arceus-Ground, Necrozma-Dusk-Mane, and Ferrothorn work extremely well with this set for providing all of the above.
