[OVERVIEW]

Although Zamazenta-C does not provide consistent offense due to its middling movepool and attacking stats, it has a unique niche in the tier: its Rusted Shield is the only viable item that can't be removed by Knock Off and Trick. Being resilient against these moves while absorbing status with Rest allows it to checks a decent array of Pokemon with its huge bulk. These include defensive Ho-Oh and Necrozma-DM, all Yveltal variants, most Xerneas variants bar Geomancy, Ferrothorn, defensive Lunala, Zarude, defensive or non-Recover Eternatus variants, and most Ice-types. However, with its aforementioned limited movepool, notably lacking a reliable recovery option, Necrozma-DM comes close to outclassing it both offensively and defensively. Necrozma-DM has a superior typing, better movepool, and access to reliable recovery. Nevertheless, Zamazenta-C's distinct niche provides a solid backbone to certain balance and bulky offense structures.

[SET]

name: The Shield (Tank)
move 1: Behemoth Bash
move 2: Close Combat
move 3: Rest
move 4: Howl / Sleep Talk / Metal Burst
item: Rusted Shield
ability: Dauntless Shield
nature: Careful / Sassy
evs: 252 HP / 64 Def / 196 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]
Behemoth Bash prevents Xerneas from coming in safely while providing decent chip damage. Close Combat provides immediate power and threatens Ferrothorn, Excadrill, and Blissey. Due to Close Combat dropping Zamazenta-C's defensive stats, however, it can't be spammed, lest Zamazenta-C constantly have to switch out and get chipped by entry hazards. Rest is mandatory to provide longevity and capitalize on its good bulk. The final moveslot could either go to Howl, letting Zamazenta-C set up against bulky threats, Sleep Talk, preventing it from being completely passive while asleep, or Metal Burst, letting it surprise KO opposing Pokemon if it's in pristine condition. However, Metal Burst's heavily prediction-reliant nature could give setup sweepers a free turn. A specially defensive EV spread lets Zamazenta-C soft check certain special attackers, such as unboosted Xerneas's Moonblast and unboosted Eternatus's Flamethrower can't 2HKO. 64 Defense EVs alongside Dauntless Shield avoid the 3HKO from non-Life Orb Zekrom's Bolt Strike. An alternate spread of 252 HP / 64 Def / 136 SpD / 60 Spe with a Careful nature provides similar bulk while outspeeding base 90 Speed threats such as non-Choice Scarf Kyogre and Zekrom.

By no means is Zamazenta-C an impenetrable wall; its main role is to absorb Knock Off, Trick, and status attempts while checking specific threats like defensive Necrozma-DM and Yveltal. Choice item users, mainly Kyogre and Calyrex-S, appreciate keeping their Choice Specs and Choice Scarf to overwhelm opposing teams, and Kyogre's rain weakens Fire-type attacks, allowing Zamazenta-C to duke it out with various Eternatus sets. Zamazenta-C can relieve Necrozma-DM from needing to run defensive sets, enabling more offensive options like Dragon Dance, Swords Dance, and Trick Room Sweeper. If Necrozma-DM still goes defensive, its Thunder Wave would still benefit Zamazenta-C's Choice item teammates in wallbreaking. Ferrothorn can provide Spikes and paralysis support while blanket checking Pokemon like Kyogre and Zekrom, whereas physically defensive Zarude mitigates Zamazenta-C's issues against physical threats such as Groudon, Zekrom, and Zygarde while additionally checking Calyrex-S due to its Dark typing. Zamazenta-C, in turn, helps deal with Zarude's weaknesses against common threats such as offensive Yveltal variants, Xerneas, Eternatus, Weavile, and Choice-locked Kyogre using Ice Beam. Partners that punish physical attackers attempting to switch into Zamazenta-C, such as Yveltal with Foul Play, and Ditto, are gladly appreciated to prevent them from using it as complete fodder, including Dragon Dance+ Substitute Zygarde and Swords Dance + Rock Polish Groudon.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
====

Zamazenta-C could theoretically opt for an offensive Howl set with an EV spread of 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe, an Adamant or Jolly nature, and the moveset Howl / Close Combat / Behemoth Blade / Wild Charge or Ice Fang; then again, any other offensive threat is far superior to what Zamazenta-C could offensively provide. Wild Charge could be used on the standard set's first or second moveslot to prevent Ho-Oh, Yveltal, and Kyogre from switching in freely, although this would mean giving up coverage to chip either Eternatus or other Steel-types beyond Skarmory and Corviknight. Similarly, Ice Fang enables Zamazenta-C to dish out reliable damage against Zygarde, Landorus-T, and Landorus while not having to rely on Behemoth Bash to dent bulkier foes such as Giratina-O and Eternatus.

Checks and Counters
====

**Strong Physical Attackers**: Despite its high Defense coupled with Dauntless Shield's boost, Zamazenta-C is unable to handle physical threats, especially if they've set up, such as Groudon, Zekrom, Galarian Darmanitan, Landorus-T, Dracovish, and Marshadow.

**Zygarde**: Any Zygarde set happily comes in on Zamazenta-C to freely set up Substitute + Dragon Dance or Coil, especially the trapper set.

**Specific Special Attackers**: Although Zamazenta-C is tasked with checking various special threats, the likes of Geomancy Xerneas, Kyogre, and Landorus easily overwhelm it with their tremendous power or super effective hits.

**Calyrex-S**: Zamazenta-C can barely handle Choice Specs and SubSeed Calyrex-S in the short term, which can either deal heavy damage or wear it down quickly respectively, let alone the long term. However, if Choice Specs Calyrex-S uses Trick, Zamazenta-C gets a free opportunity to switch out or set up with Howl.

**Ho-Oh**: Defensive Ho-Oh is soft checked by Zamazenta-C but fears little in return, taking even a Metal Burst or Wild Charge before healing with Regenerator, and it can use Defog before switching or chip Zamazenta-C with Sacred Fire. Rare offensive variants of Ho-Oh threaten Zamazenta-C immediately.

that said, here are some things you should add before the second check:

  • i would be making this thing sound even a bit worse than you already do. it's, like, REALLY bad. it's a trick absorber that doesn't even switch into the most common trick user (calyrex), has no offensive niche, and is just fodder vs like a billion mons on a standard HO build.
  • you should change up the checks and counters section a bit; condense the mentions of geoxern and calyrex into a "strong special attackers" section, and add kyogre and life orb eternatus to the list of things that beat you in this section.
  • you rattle off a list of things this checks in your third bullet point, but this list needs some work. you don't really check geoxern, just win the 1v1 vs it if you're at full health, so i wouldn't be saying you're really an answer to it in any capacity. you also mention some defensive mons that you "check" (lunala, ndm, ho-oh) -- i would reword this to say that you absorb status from them. "check" is a bit misleading here since none of these mons are difficult to switch into (ergo not the sorts of things you need to go out of your way to "check"). more importantly, though, you can't do anything to hurt them back -- close combat doesn't even 4hko a leftovers physdef ndm. you have to hope you can catch ho-oh with metal burst on its sacred fire, but if you don't have metal burst (or if ho-oh just whirlwinds you) you're shit outta luck. in the same vein, though you avoid the 3hko from a defensive eternatus flamethrower, you also can't touch it without metal burst and it'll just pp stall your behemoth bashes, so you're not quite a good switch-in to that either.
    • two things you could mention that you do check amazingly well, on the other hand, are kyurem-b and cloyster. you're debatably the best cloyster counterlead in the game cause you outpace it and do a billion with close combat while taking nothing from icicle spear...just be ready for whatever comes in after cloyster. you're also the best kyurem-b check -- keep in mind, however, that nobody used zamazenta-c even when kyurem-black could dynamax and was a top 3 broken pokemon that was way more prevalent last dlc.
  • i actually reckon metal burst is deserving of a first slash over sleep talk, cause you just never damage anything without it. the whole restalk thing seems nice in theory, but you only have a 33% chance to roll a move that isn't piss weak vs...anything, while you're asleep, and even then that move won't OHKO whatever's in front of you.
  • mentioning crunch in OO is probably fair, cause it OHKOs calyrex-shadow. you do take over half from a specs astral barrage, but the tradeoff is strong. i think you could also mention reflect and/or light screen in OO; both absolutely suck, but at least they give zama a bit more to do to support the rest of your team (and can make zama itself harder to break through once something has set up on it)
  • in usage tips/team options i would mention that this fits best on very fringe stall or balance teams. it's not a good partner for most offensive mons cause it doesn't really have offensive presence of its own, but you can justify it in VERY niche circumstances on defensively-oriented builds that really like having a knock/status absorber and an antilead to cloyster/check to ferro and icyrex. you can use the team options section to reiterate that this thing sucks.

[OVERVIEW]

  • At first glance, Zamazenta-C has always been seen as a worthless contender in providing any noteworthy offensive or defensive niche with its lackluster movepool and middling attack stat, outclassed by many other threats that does its job far better even with the meta being in a volatile state, it never seems to shine in any aspect and would be a waste of a teamslot.
  • However, with its monstrous counterpart Zacian-C gone and the prevalence of knock off rising, Zamazenta-C provides a unique niche that no other mon could replicate in Crown Tundra Ubers.
  • Being a knock off, trick and status absorber while checking a decent array of Mons, some include (Certain Xerneas variants, Defensive Ho-Oh and Dusk-Mane, All Yveltal variants, Ferrothorn, certain Dialga variants, Calyrex-Ice, Defensive Lunala variants, Defensive and Recover-lacking Meteor Beam eternatus variants) When writing up no need to be super specific in terms of sets, I'd focus on the main ones being Yveltal, Caly-I, Ferrothorn, Lunala, and defensive etern / xern. You lose to offensive xern, etern, and I think almost all dialga should be offensive so you can just keep it broad to some defensive mons and leave out ones that have sets that usually beat it.
  • However, Zamazenta-C comes with a serverely crippling issue that hinders it's effectiveness, with it's afermentioned weak movepool, it does not have the best tools to utilize its unique niche to the fullest, and this makes it serverely outclassed by Necrozma Dusk-Mane, both Defensive and Offensively, who is already not an optimal choice

[SET COMMENTS]

Set details
  • A specially defensive spread is given to let Zamazenta-C softcheck certain special attackers from being able to threaten it immediately with a KO, allowing to scout the opposition in a pinch.
  • Behemoth Bash is mandatory to prevent Zacian-H and Xerneas from coming in safely while providing relative chip damage if it plans to take on a RestTalk route.
  • Revenge may seem to be a bad choice due to its awful base 60 attack, however it has a -6 Negative priority and Zamazenta-C will be always taking hits which doubles Revenge's power into 120, enough to replicate Close Combat with a noticeably larger amount of PP.
  • Alternatively, Close Combat itself would provide immediate power allowing it to threaten Ferrothorn, Excadrill switch-ins, Blissey. Due to the counterintuitive nature of Close Combat dropping your defensive stats however, it would make it less reliable in checking/soft-checking threats later mid-game and it would risk it of constantly switching, being chipped from hazards.
  • Rest is mandatory for longevity to preserve itself from being worn down easily especially being complimented with its decently tremendous bulk.
  • The choice lies in either providing any form of punishment for switching-in while Zamazenta-C is asleep in the form of Sleep Talk? Or having an Iron-Barbs stimulation that further punishes any attacking attempts through Metal Burst? I'd avoid rhetorical questions here and just explain their benefits over the other, mention how it gets easily exploited while sleeping if not sleep talk but metal burst can get some nice OHKO's if needed
  • explain what the spread does since the ev's aren't just max max and mention careful vs sassy reasoning

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Usage Tips & Team Options

  • By no means Zamazenta-C is ever an impenetrable wall, its main role is to absorb knock off, trick and status attempts and checking the afermentioned threats. Choiced users, mainly Kyogre and Calyrex-S, appreciate their Choice Specs or Scarfs being intact to overwhelm opposing teams, while Kyogre further weakens fire attacks, allowing Zamazenta-Crowned to duke it out with various eternatus sets.
  • Necrozma Dusk-Mane could be relieved of having to account for Xerneas and solely focus on Zacian-Hero while it could also providing paralysis support, enabling choice users to become even more effective in wallbreaking.
  • Mention Yveltal and Ho-Oh which appreciate it status absorbing and also taking trick from caly since it can actually live 2 scarf hits if needed, as well as knock from opposing yvel trying to take boots
  • Partners that helps to punish any physical attackers that attempts to switch into Zamazenta-C such as Yveltal with Foul Play, Ditto are glady appreciated to provide support for it to not become entirely fodder

Other Options
Alternatively, a inverse spread of 252 HP / 200 Def / 56 Sp.Def and Impish/Relaxed Nature could be used to check physical threats slightly better but it is serverely outdone by Dusk Mane and Ferrothorn in that regard, is there anything in particular this spread actually does? I feel like if there's no exact calcs you can change it to just full phys.def while it could run an offensive Howl set of 252 Atk / 4 Sp.Def / 252 Spe with an Adamant / Jolly Nature with the moves (Howl / Close Combat / Behemoth Bash / Wild Charge), but only if you plan to be truly daring. I'd just say how it's outclassed by about every other breaker in the game ;-;

Checks and Counters
  • Strong Physical Attackers: Ironically Zamazenta-C is unable to handle Physical threats especially with their boosts such as Zacian-H, Groudon, Zekrom, G-Darmanitian, Landorus-Therian
  • Zygarde: **Ground-types**: Zygarde will always be able to come in on Zamazenta-Crowned, in fact it enjoys Zamazenta's presence and will always be a fodder for it to set-up on regardless of which set it runs, Sub Dragon Dance, Coil, and especially the Trapper set Groudon, Lando-T, and Lando-I all also force it out and can get rocks up / pivot / set up
  • Geomancy Xerneas: Zamazenta-C can check almost every variant of Xerneas but if Xerneas got its Geomancy at full health without taking at least 1 Behemoth Bash beforehand, Zamazenta-Crowned will inevitably crumble to it
  • Calyrex-Shadow: Zamazenta-C could barely handle any of its Choice Specs (if it has not tricked yet) and SubSeed variants, it will either be worn down by leech seed and/or put in a difficult position to take an astral barrage
  • I'm extremely inclined to say group these things together for a "strong special attackers" category but that's so sad if both physical attackers and special attackers are listed lol, I'd just give a mention to Kyogre in particular which eats cc and can set up on zama or just break it with spout

The analysis needs to be updated from bullet to paragraph form and it also need to impliment Fc's check.

even with the meta being in a volatile state
Remove this from the first point in the overview, it's both subjective and time sensitive.

However, with its monstrous counterpart Zacian-C gone and the prevalence of knock off rising, Zamazenta-C provides a unique niche that no other mon could replicate in Crown Tundra Ubers.
This point should be removed for the same reasoning as above. Analyses are meant to be timeless (or a best effort to be timeless) representations of a Pokemon in that generation. It is beyond the scope of an analysis to commentate or document tiering decisions or metagame trends.

this makes it serverely outclassed by Necrozma Dusk-Mane, both Defensive and Offensively, who is already not an optimal choice
In what context is Necrozma DM not an optional choice? As a Knock Off absorber? (which it isn't). If you are simply trying to state that Zama-C is unviable because Necro-DM exists, then simply state that.

Don't split usage tips / team options into another section. Follow the new analysis format (see Index OP) and simply have this as the second paragraph of set details.

Remove all mentions of Zacian and follow the analysis format listed here as Minority mentioned, there's some unnecessary breaks and formatting with bolds / italics that don't need to be there for the current format.

A specially defensive spread of 252 HP / 56 Def / 200 Sp.Def is given to let Zamazenta-C softcheck certain special attackers from being able to threaten it immediately with a KO, allowing to scout the opposition in a pinch.
As I said in the first check, does this investment actually give rolls against anything in particular? If not there's no point in making it anything specific that isn't max max, but if there is you have to mention what it does. Something like 64 phys.def with max HP lives 4 unboosted Zekrom Bolt Strike for example which is a closer benchmark I'd hit if you need to hit one.

252 Atk Teravolt Zekrom Bolt Strike vs. +2 252 HP / 64 Def Zamazenta-Crowned: 109-129 (28 - 33.2%) -- guaranteed 4HKO (calc is bugged so this +2 is actually +1 because the initial boost doesn't add)

Necrozma Dusk-Mane could be relieved of having to account for Xerneas and solely focus on Zacian-Hero while it could also providing paralysis support, enabling choice users to become even more effective in wallbreaking.
Without Zac around I'd change this to another example such as Ferrothorn being able to run phys.def for zek / zyg

Alternatively, a inverse spread of 252 HP / 200 Def / 56 Sp.Def and Impish/Relaxed Nature could be used to check physical threats slightly better
Again explain what this spread does or just say "a physically defensive spread" or something similar

Since Zacian was banned a few more things have to be touched up just by nature, ping me 1 more time when formatting is fixed, Zac mentions are removed, and these set comment things are addressed and I'll quickly look at it and stamp

Before moving this to GP, as Minority said please follow the format listed in the OP of the reservation thread with separating stuff like usage tips and set details, those headers to start the paragraphs aren't needed, same as in the OO section.
[Overview]

In the Overview you want to generalize what the Pokemon in question accomplishes in the metagame and where it stands. You will also want to cover its drawbacks and anything else that may hold it back. This should be a pretty basic recap of the Pokemon, an overview typically does not need to be much longer than 7 or 8 sentences, though of course this varies from Pokemon to Pokemon and compromises can be made.

[SET COMMENTS]

The Set Comments section will often consist of 2 paragraphs. In the first paragraph you should go over the specifics of this set. What is the purpose of the moves, item, ability, and nature + evs? There is no need to talk about basic STAB moves, useless abilities, or simple EV spreads like 252/4/252.

In the second paragraph you should talk about potential teammates and what makes them useful. Cover Pokemon that can patch up the analyzed Pokemon's weakness and mention Pokemon that benefit from the analyzed Pokemon's presence. You get the point.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
====

In the Other Options paragraph you can note any other options that are useable, yet not considered viable enough to be mentioned in the set comments. If there are none, feel free to keep this empty. Trying to fill this paragraph with bad options for the sake of it is detrimental to the user reading the analysis's experience.

Checks and Counters
====

**Insert Threat Here**: You should describe why the Pokemon is a threat. Please do keep in mind that it is often easier to insert whole typings and then specify the Pokemon of such type that are threats; this makes it much easier to keep track of this section for the audience.

**Insert Threat Here**: You should describe why the Pokemon is a threat. Order threats by potency and viability.

(Defensive Ho-Oh and Dusk-Mane, All Yveltal variants, Most Xerneas variants bar Geomancy, Ferrothorn, Calyrex-Ice, Defensive Lunala variants, Defensive and Recover-lacking Eternatus variants, Cloyster, Kyurem-Black, Weavile )
Remove the brackets, underline, and italics here and just make it flow with the rest of the paragraph as a normal sentence. To condense the examples since you don't need this many, can say "ice-types" or something similar so you don't have to list out cloy, weav, KB, and caly i since it just takes up space. Can cut down on other examples also by generalizing more.

Revenge may seem to be a bad choice due to its awful base 60 attack, however it has a -6 Negative priority and Zamazenta-C will be always taking hits which doubles Revenge's power into 120, enough to replicate Close Combat with a noticeably larger amount of PP.
Alternatively, Close Combat itself would provide immediate power allowing it to threaten Ferrothorn, Excadrill switch-ins, Blissey. Due to the counterintuitive nature of Close Combat dropping your defensive stats however, it would make it less reliable in checking/soft-checking threats later mid-game and it would risk it of constantly switching, being chipped from hazards.

The final moveslot could either dedicate to Sleep Talk, preventing Zamazenta-C from being completely passive while asleep, or Howl, providing Zamazenta-C an offensive presence to not become entirely rendered useless against other bulky threats.
Make the order of these mentions match the way they are in the main set, ie. talk about CC first then Revenge, and Howl first then Sleep talk.

& 64 Def combined with Dauntless Shield allows it to withstand non-Life Orb Zekrom's Bolt Strike, that would also 3HKO Zamazenta-C
This feels a little weirdly worded, if you can clarify that it turns it into a 4hko somehow a bit better that would be good.

  • In the overview I think a very important thing to mention outside of that 1 sentence where you list what it checks is how it's a Steel-type that threatens Ferrothorn. This is a great thing it has over Dusk Mane and is useful on a lot of teams that need a steel but get walled by Ferrothorn.

  • In the set details paragraph mention it having the option to run 60 speed evs if using CC + Howl to outrun things like Zekrom, Kyogre, etc. instead of in the OO paragraph since imo it's more relevant than an OO mention and it's a small detail. Don't have to add it to the main spread but set comments is more accurate than OO.

  • Remove Sassy Nature all together, without Metal Burst there's no reason to run it over Careful.

With all this implemented that should be good for QC 2/2

Was pinged on discord that the changes were implemented so here are some final things for the mon.

In general I think the overview undersells this Pokemon (Contrary to the first QC check but I think the mon's place has shifted a good bit). At this point in the meta it's actually proven itself to be a useable pick, and while not amazing, I think the overview should paint it in a bit better of a light.

Remove Wild Charge from the main set, not having Fighting coverage just makes the mon worthless as it loses a main plus of threatening Ferrothorn as a Steel-type. Similarly, just remove all the revenge mentions from the first paragraph since it's p much outlcassed always.

Necrozma Dusk-Mane could be relieved from mainly running defensive sets and orient to more offensive options, mainly Dragon Dance Sweeper & Trick Room.
Small but I'd also mention SD Necrozma since that's another incredible set up set.

Phys.Def Zarude can also be mentioned in the partners section, providing a sturdy Zekrom, Groudon, and Zygarde answer.

=====

A specially defensive spread is given to let Zamazenta-C soft(space)check certain special attackers,(AC) since Special Attack are frequently being thrown around and since Zamazenta-C is unable to handle the physical threats around Ubers due to its typing.(RC,FS) 252 HP and 196 Sp.Def SpD investment for allows Zamazenta-C to survive 2 unboosted Xerneas's Mooblast and unboosted Eternatus's Flamethrower to 3HKO;(RC,SC) 64 Def combined with Dauntless Shield's +1 Defense boost allows it to withstand rapid assaults from non-Life Orb Zekrom's Bolt Strike. Behemoth Bash is mandatory to prevent (remove space)Xerneas from coming in safely for free while providing relative chip damage. Close Combat itself would provides immediate power allowing it to threaten Ferrothorn, Excadrill switch-ins, and Blissey. Due to the counterintuitive nature of dropping your defensive stats,(AC) however, Close Combat would make it Zamazenta-C less reliable in checking/soft-checking threats later mid-game and it would risk Zamazenta-C of constantly switching as it is forced out, being chipped from hazards. Rest is mandatory for longevity,(AC) to preserve itself from being worn down easily especially being complimented with its decently tremendous bulk. The final moveslot could either can be dedicated to Sleep Talk, preventing Zamazenta-C from being completely passive while asleep, Howl, providing Zamazenta-C an offensive presence to not become entirely rendered useless against pressure other bulky threats, or Metal Burst(remove space), giving it a surprise factor in which it may KO an opposing pokemon if its in pristine condition although its heavily prediction-reliant nature could give setup(RH) sweepers a free turn.

A spread similar to the Tank Set of 252 HP / 64 Def / 136 Sp.Def SpD / 60 Speed with Careful Nature provides a similar amount of bulk while outspeeding base 90 threats such as non-Choice Scarf Kyogre and Zekrom.

By no means Zamazenta-C is ever an impenetrable wall;(RC,SC) its main role is to absorb Knock Off, Trick, and status attempts and checking the aforementioned threats. Choiced users, mainly Kyogre and Calyrex-S, appreciate their Choice Specs or Scarfs items being intact to overwhelm opposing teams, while Kyogre further weakens Fire attacks, allowing Zamazenta-Crowned to duke it out with various Eternatus sets. Although Zamazenta-C does not provide consistent offense due to its middling movepool and attack stats, it is the only Pokemon that requires an irremovable item which fortitudes a unique niche in the tier, being resillient against Knock Off and Trick it has a unique niche in the tier: its Rusted Shield is the only viable item that can't be removed by Knock Off and Trick. However, with its (removed apostrophe) aforementioned limited movepool and the lack of a viable recovery option, Necrozma Dusk-Mane outclasses both Offensively & Defensively, having movepool, notably lacking a reliable recovery option, Necrozma-DM comes close to outclassing it both offensively and defensively. Necrozma-DM has a superior typing, better movepool, and access to reliable recovery overall. A specially defensive spread is given to let Zamazenta-C softcheck certain special attackers with its inability to handle noteworthy physical threats that counteracts its inauspicious typing against them. An EV investment of 252 HP and 196 Sp.Def ensures unboosted Xerneas's Mooblast and unboosted Eternatus's Flamethrower to 3HKO, 64 Def combined with Dauntless Shield's +1 Defense boost allows it to withstand rapid assaults from non-Life Orb Zekrom's Bolt Strike. Behemoth Bash prevents Xerneas from coming in safely while providing relative decent chip damage. Close Combat provides immediate power and threatens Ferrothorn, Excadrill switch-ins, and Blissey. Due to the counterintuitive nature of Close Combat's effect dropping Zamzenta-C's defensive stats however, it becomes less reliable to spam where it would risk Zamazenta-C of constantly switching out, being chipped from hazards. Close Combat dropping Zamazenta-C's defensive stats, however, it can't be spammed, lest Zamazenta-C constantly have to switch out and get chipped by entry hazards. Rest is mandatory for longevity to preserve itself from being worn down easily especially being complimented with its decently tremendous actually capitalize on its rather good bulk. The final moveslot could either dedicate go to Sleep Talk, preventing Zamazenta-C from being completely passive while asleep, Howl, providing Zamazenta-C an offensive presence to not become entirely rendered useless against other bulky threats, Sleep Talk, preventing it from being completely passive while asleep, or Metal Burst , giving it a surprise factor in which it may KO an opposing pokemon if its in pristine condition although its heavy Burst, letting it surprise KO opposing Pokemon if it's in pristine condition. A specially defensive EV spread lets Zamazenta-C soft check certain special attackers; its typing means it won't handle many noteworthy physical threats regardless of EVs. The given spread ensures unboosted Xerneas's Moonblast and unboosted Eternatus's Flamethrower can't 2HKO. 64 Defense EVs alongside Dauntless Shield avoid the 3HKO from non-Life Orb Zekrom's Bolt Strike. However, with its aforementioned limited movepool, notably lacking a reliable recovery option, Necrozma-DM comes close to outclassing it both offensively and defensively. Necrozma-DM has a superior typing, better movepool, and access to reliable recovery. Nevertheless, Zamazenta-C's distinct niche provides a solid backbone to certain balance and bulky offense structures a solid backbone.

[SET COMMENTS]
Behemoth Bash prevents Xerneas from coming in safely while providing decent chip damage. Close Combat provides immediate power and threatens Ferrothorn, Excadrill switch-ins, and Blissey. Due to Close Combat dropping Zamazenta-C's defensive stats, however, it can't be spammed, lest Zamazenta-C constantly have to switch out and get chipped by entry hazards. Rest is mandatory for longevity to to provide longevity and capitalize on its rather good bulk. The final moveslot could either go to Howl, providing Zamazenta-C an offensive presence to not become entirely rendered useless against other bulky threats letting Zamazenta-C set up against bulky threats, Sleep Talk, preventing it from being completely passive while asleep, or Metal Burst, letting it surprise KO opposing Pokemon if it's in pristine condition. However, Metal Burst's heavily prediction-reliant nature could give set-up setup setup sweepers a free turn. A specially defensive EV spread lets Zamazenta-C soft check certain special attackers; its typing means it won't handle many noteworthy physical threats regardless of EVs. The given spread ensures attackers, as unboosted Xerneas's Moonblast and unboosted Eternatus's Flamethrower can't 2HKO. 64 Defense EVs alongside Dauntless Shield avoid the 3HKO from non-Life Orb Zekrom's Bolt Strike. An alternate spread of 252 HP / 64 Def / 136 SpD / 60 Spe with a Careful nature nature you had nature twice provides a similar bulk while outspeeding base 90 Speed threats such as non-Choice Scarf Kyogre and Zekrom.

By no means is Zamazenta-C an impenetrable wall; its main role is to absorb Knock Off, Trick, and status attempts while checking specific threats like defensive Necrozma-DM and Yveltal. Choice item users, mainly Kyogre and Calyrex-S, appreciate their Choice Specs or Scarfs being intact keeping their Choice Specs and Choice Scarf to overwhelm opposing teams, and Kyogre's rain weakens Fire-type attacks, allowing Zamazenta-C to duke it out with various Eternatus sets. Having Zamazenta-C can relieve Necrozma-DM from running needing to run defensive sets, enabling more offensive options like Dragon Dance, Swords Dance, and Trick Room Sweeper. If Necrozma-DM still goes defensive, its Thunder Wave would still benefit Zamazenta-C's Choice item teammates in wallbreaking. Ferrothorn can provide Spikes and paralysis support while blanket checking Pokemon like Kyogre and Zekrom, whereas physically defensive Zarude mitigates Zamazenta-C's issues against physical threats such as Groudon, Zekrom, and Zygarde, (comma) while additionally checking Calyrex-S due to its Dark typing. Zamazenta-C, in turn, (commas) helps deal with Zarude's weaknesses against common threats such as offensive Yveltal variants, Xerneas, Eternatus, Weavile, and Choice-locked Kyogre using Ice Beam. Partners that punish physical attackers attempting to switch into Zamazenta-C, such as Yveltal with Foul Play, (comma) and Ditto, are gladly appreciated to prevent them from using it as complete fodder such as preventing Dragon Dance Zygarde from setting up free substitutes or Groudon rampaging through with a Swords Dance + Rock Polish boost fodder, including Dragon Dance+ Substitute Zygarde and Swords Dance + Rock Polish Groudon.

Other Options
====

====
