Hi guys, im currently testing a new Team for Wifi-Battling. Its centered around Charizard-Y and based on Valentines Guide for Zard-Y-Teams. I changed it quite a bit to make it possible for me to actually breed it^^
It works good, although i have still some Problems with the last slot....
Its peaked around 1700 now and still rising, rank 324 today :)
Pls mention that ill use this team in Wifi-Battling.
So here it is:
Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 40 HP / 252 SAtk / 216 Spd
Modest Nature
- Flamethrower
- Air Slash
- Focus Blast
- SolarBeam
The centre of the team. I run Air Slash to be able to handle M-Venusaur better. The rest should be standard, it breaks enemy walls, sweeps etc...
Flamethrower > Fire Blast.....hmm im not 100% sure if its better, but that Fireblast lost me quite a lot of games.
Excadrill @ Air Balloon
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 104 HP / 252 Atk / 152 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rapid Spin
- Rock Slide
My Spinner. With two of my members having sand stream ability, this guy is definitly a beast. The speed evs are chosen to outspeed scarfed jolly Garchomp in Sand, and i run Iron Head over SD to cripple these nearby littly fairies. Its even quite bulky and can take a Hydro Pump from 0 Spa Rotom-W if needed. Overall, it does a nice job. I usually keep Hippo or Ttar alive even if theyre burned or severly weakened, cause if i get sandstorm up in the endgame excadrill can sweep a weakend team with ease, exspecially if its an offensive-based team.
Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 180 Def / 76 SDef
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Slack Off
Sets up SR and handles many physical sweepers like M-Char-X, Talonflame, Pinsir etc. Toxic to win against bulkier mons that are a problem for my team like Zapdos or Mandibuzz and it also helps me as a emergency "stall-out" for set-uppers like Dragonite or gyarados who want to set up on hippo. Pretty self-explaining.
Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 HP / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
- Pursuit
- Stone Edge
My Trapper, Talonflame/Pinsir-Check, sandstorm abuser and revenge-killer. Ice Beam as a gimmick over crunch to OHKO Landorus (T) and Gliscor with surprise, and its also useful against some dragons ;) . edge-quake for coverage.
Keldeo @ Choice Specs
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Icy Wind
Choice Specs Keldeo tears wholes in almost every team, as said by Valentine, too. I use Icy Wind over a Hp, just because im happy having a Keldeo at all, and mine has hp Ghost...rest should be standard.
Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 4 Atk / 252 SAtk
Hasty Nature
IVs: 29 HP
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Thunderbolt
- Earthquake
Now using Latios here, i tried to drift away from the guide, and it just didnt work lol^^
So, ill run T-Bolt in the "defogslot" cause im lacking at other good options, maybe someone has a better idea how to fill it....well, everyone should understand the rest of the set.

Shows the insane utility of sand very nice (pls forgive me the dumb play at the beginning^)
