Zeraora's lightning fast Speed, in conjunction with its Volt Switch and Electric immunity, gives it a solid niche as an offensive pivot. Knock Off allows Zeraora to cripple many of its switch-ins, as Ferrothorn, Gastrodon, and Landorus-T despise losing their items. It's also Zeraora's only way of getting past Gliscor, although Gliscor must not have activated Toxic Orb for it to do so. Alternatively, Close Combat smashes Excadrill, Ferrothorn, and Blissey and lets Zeraora revenge kill dangerous offensive Pokemon like Mega Lopunny and Kartana. Volt Switch allows Zeraora to keep momentum against Pokemon it cannot break through, such as Tangrowth, Clefable, and Ferrothorn. Toxic cripples Ground-types that can otherwise prevent Zeraora from pivoting with Volt Switch, as well as ruining Mega Latias's and Tangrowth's longevity.

Zeraora is completely unable to bypass Ground-types, as the best it can do is wear them down with Toxic. As such, partners like Kyurem, Weavile, and Ash-Greninja are fantastic teammates to remedy this issue. The former two can also handle Grass-types that Zeraora can't deal with. Ash-Greninja appreciates Zeraora's Knock Off support, as its Spikes become even more effective when Pokemon like Ferrothorn and Blissey lack Leftovers or Heavy-Duty Boots. Zeraora's mediocre bulk prevents it from coming onto the field easily, so pivots like Slowbro, Slowking, Corviknight, and Blissey make good partners. Corviknight deals with Ground-types well, while Ice Beam Slowbro can lure in Ground-types and surprise them. Wallbreakers such as Mega Charizard Y, Swords Dance Kartana, and Tapu Lele wallbreak for Zeraora in the early- and mid-game, giving it an easier time cleaning late-game. They also appreciate Zeraora's ability to bring them in with Volt Switch. Zeraora can form VoltTurn cores with partners like Landorus-T and Mega Scizor, allowing them to maintain momentum while pressuring the opposing team.

Other Options
=============

Blaze Kick is an option to smack Mega Scizor while also hitting Ferrothorn for more damage than Close Combat. However, it has minimal use against Pokemon like Blissey, Hydreigon, and Kyurem, making the options mentioned above superior.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Ground-types**: Zeraora cannot touch Ground-types aside from poisoning them. They also completely block Volt Switch and OHKO it with Earthquake. Gliscor in particular is an incredible thorn in Zeraora's side, as poison will not even affect it negatively. However, Garchomp and Landorus-T have severely reduced longevity when poisoned, and Excadrill doesn't like to take Close Combat.

**Grass-types**: Tangrowth, Ferrothorn, and Amoonguss completely wall Zeraora, and the latter two are also not affected by Toxic. However, they cannot block Volt Switch, are annoyed by Knock Off, and Close Combat smashes through Ferrothorn.

**Dragon-types**: Garchomp, Hydreigon, and Mega Latias are great threats to Zeraora. All three don't mind Knock Off, and Refresh Mega Latias can even shrug off Toxic.

Knock Off allows Zeraora to cripple many of it’s switch-ins, as Ferrothorn, Gastrodon, and Amoonguss despise losing their items. It’s also Zeraora’s only way of getting past Gliscor, though the latter must be unpoisoned by Toxic Orb to do so. Alternatively, Close Combat smashes Excadrill, Tyranitar, Ferrothorn, Hydreigon, and Blissey, offering a more direct use of Zeraora’s offensive capabilities. Volt Switch allows Zeraora to keep momentum against Pokemon it cannot break through, such Tangrowth, Clefable, and Ferrothorn. Toxic cripples Ground-types that can otherwise prevent Zeraora from pivoting with Volt Switch, as well as ruining Mega Latias’ and Tangrowth’s sustainability. Heavy-Duty Boots gives Zeraora decent longevity by granting it an immunity to hazards. Volt Absorb is Zeraora’s only ability, aiding it by letting it situationally switch into Zapdos and Tapu Koko.

Zeraora is completely unable to bypass Ground-types, as the best it can do is wear them down with Toxic. As such, partners like Kyurem, Weavile, and Ash-Greninja are fantastic teammates to remedy this issue. The former two can also deal with Grass-types that Zeraora can’t deal with, and Weavile can provide a solid Mega Latias check this is simply filler as mega latias can't block volt switch nor deal with toxic, therefore irrelevent to zeraora. Ash-Greninja appreciates Zeraora’s Knock Off support, as its Spikes become even more effective when Pokemon lack Leftovers or Heavy-Duty Boots. Zeraora’s paltry bulk prevents it from coming onto the field easily, so pivots like Slowbro, Slowking, Corviknight, and Blissey make good partners. Corviknight and Ice Beam Slowbro deal with Ground-types as well. Zeraora appreciates Pokemon that can wallbreak for it early game, such as Mega Charizard Y, Swords Dance Kartana, and Tapu Lele, so it can have an easier time cleaning up an opposing team. They also appreciate Zeraora’s ability to bring them in with Volt Switch. I would also mention some slower wallbreakers that appreicate the team support, such as mega heracross

I would highlight more how gliscor is the hardest counter, and how the other grounds are checks due to getting crippled by knock / toxic

**Grass-types**: Tangrowth, Ferrothorn, Amoonguss completely wall Zeraora, and the latter two don’t even mind Toxic. However, theycannot stop it from using Volt Switch, and Knock Off can annoy all three. Close Combat is also able to smash through Ferrothorn.

**Dragon-types**: Garchomp, Hydreigon, and Mega Latias pose a great threat to Zeraora. Both don’t mind Knock Off, and Refresh Mega Latias can even shrug off Toxic. Bulky Garchomp can also heavily weaken Zeraora with Rough Skin and Rocky Helmet, but it must be wary of Toxic wearing it down too quickly. Hydreigon also must be wary of Close Combat or Toxic, but can safely OHKO Zeraora while Roosting off any chip damage it takes.

Knock Off allows Zeraora to cripple many of it’s switch-ins, as Ferrothorn, Gastrodon, and Amoonguss despise losing their items. i feel there are better examples you can choose here since Amoonguss compared to the other examples is pretty unaffected if it loses its item, Landorus-T is a much better one It’s also Zeraora’s only way of getting past Gliscor, though the latter must be unpoisoned by Toxic Orb to do so. Cinderace and Mega Scizor especially come to mind

Alternatively, Close Combat smashes Excadrill, Tyranitar, Ferrothorn, Hydreigon, and Blissey, offering a more direct use of Zeraora’s offensive capabilities. Mention how Close Combat and its high speed tier can let it revenge kill other decently fast Pokemon like Weavile, Kartana, and Mega Lopunny. Volt Switch allows Zeraora to keep momentum against Pokemon it cannot break through, such as Tangrowth, Clefable, and Ferrothorn. Toxic cripples Ground-types that can otherwise prevent Zeraora from pivoting with Volt Switch, as well as ruining Mega Latias’ and Tangrowth’s sustainability. Zeraora’s paltry bulk prevents it from coming onto the field easily, so pivots like Slowbro, Slowking, Corviknight, and Blissey make good partners. Corviknight and Ice Beam Slowbro deal with Ground-types as well. Emphasize on Ice Beam Slowbro being more of a lure and specific to catching Ground-types so it isn't as common as Scald variants. Zeraora can form VoltTurn cores with the likes of Landorus-T and Ash-Greninja, allowing them to maintain momentum while keeping opposing teams on the backfoot. Remove the Ash-Greninja example as U-turn has been falling off more and more, mention something else like Mega Scizor or Rillaboom.

It is able to poison it, it just won't affect Gliscor in a negative way.

Hydreigon also must be wary of Close Combat or Toxic, but can safely OHKO Zeraora while Roosting off any chip damage it takes. Put less emphasis on Hydreigon here, it can barely check Zeraora being vulnerable to Close Combat and not being able to OHKO it without a boosted hit or Z-move. Kommo-o seems to be a better example than it as well.
