Despite access to Illusion, Zoroark struggles to have a meaningful place in NU. It faces heavy competition from other special wallbreakers like Salazzle and Indeedee-F, both of which have more potent STAB attacks and better overall movepools. Zoroark also has poor bulk, leaving it easily revenge killed by faster Pokemon like Tauros, Salazzle, and Ninjask. Illusion's mindgames fail to have a meaningful impact on games; Zoroark is easily scouted for with entry hazards, faster Pokemon like Talonflame and Tauros, and priority moves like Sirfetch'd's First Impression.

Flamethrower 2HKOes Copperajah while dealing good damage to foes that resist Dark like Drapion and Machamp. Sludge Bomb allows Zoroark to hit Fairy-types like Sylveon and Grimmsnarl super effectively. U-turn lets Zoroark gain momentum and pivot on its checks. Pokemon weak to Psychic-type attacks like Machamp and Toxicroak have good synergy with Zoroark, making use of Zoroark's Illusion to bait and remove Pokemon like Indeedee-F and Starmie. Similarly, physical attackers like Silvally-Ground, Machamp, Aerodactyl and Passimian can draw in physically defensive walls for Zoroark to heavily damage or KO.

[OVERVIEW]

Despite access to an interesting and unique ability in Illusion, Zoroark is hopelessly unviable. This is due to heavy competition as a special attacker from the likes of Salazzle and Indeedee-F, both of which have more potent STABs and stronger movepools. Zoroark has poor bulk, leaving it easily revenge-killed by faster Pokemon like Tauros, Salazzle, and Ninjask. While it is potentially able to pull off some mind games with Illusion, it is rather easy to scout Zoroark with entry hazards, faster threats like Talonflame, Scarf Indeedee-F, and Tauros, and priority moves such as First Impression from the likes of Sirfetch'd, making it much less tricky to play around in practice.

As a special attacker, Zoroark is generally outclassed by Salazzle and Indeedee-F. The former boasts a better Speed tier than Zoroark while also having a more potent offensive typing, while the latter provides utility in the form of Psychic Terrain while also boasting more potent STABs. (write a sentence about U-turn and give a couple sentences about potential partners)

Indeedee-F is a great partner for Zoroark, setting up Psychic Terrain to prevent priority and threatening Fighting-types like Machamp and Sirfetch'd with Expanding Force. In return, Zoroark is able to do good damage to special walls like Sylveon. Similarly, physical attackers like list some here can draw in physically defensive walls for Zoroark to heavily damage or KO.
