To check Future Sight Duosion, players in this year's NFEPL have started using Substitute Zweilous with notable success. Zweilous switches in on Future Sight, uses Substitute to capitalize on Duosion and stall a turn, and then punishes switch-ins with its Hustle-boosted attacks while absorbing the Future Sight. Body Slam hits Dark-resistant foes like Clefairy and Vullaby while also potentially paralyzing walls like Golbat and Tangela. Zen Headbutt targets Gurdurr, but given the poor accuracy, Protect could be used instead as a means of extra passive recovery with Leftovers. 112 Speed EVs ensure Zweilous is faster than Flame Orb Gurdurr. Walls vulnerable to Future Sight like Golbat, Tangela, and Koffing work great with Zweilous, as they help check Fighting- and Fairy-types in return. Knock Off and Thief support from Mareanie and Electabuzz makes it easier for Zweilous to break through its checks like Piloswine and Tangela. Koffing and Mareanie also provide Toxic Spikes to combo well with Substitute + Protect. Make sure to also have switch-ins to Piloswine like Hattrem and Slowpoke for when Zweilous cannot KO it or afford to take an Ice Shard.
