[OVERVIEW]

  • Zygarde's access to Dragon Dance, Thousand Arrows and Extreme Speed, coupled with an amazing bulky, yet offensive statline allow it to carve itself a pedestal as one of the premier offensive threats in Mix and Mega.
  • Not only that, but Zygarde's great statline allows it to take on many different roles such as Bulky or Offensive Lucarionite, Altarianite or Pinsirite sets.
  • Unfortunately, Zygarde's attack and speed pre-mega is quite low, with 100 attack and 95 speed. Stones that don't buff speed such as Altarianite are going to struggle with outspeeding a few threats.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========
  • Thousand Arrows is your basic STAB attack, knocking out flying types as well as the usual types it beats. Sitting at 90 Base power, it's Zygarde's main STAB move that you want to use.
  • Dragon Dance is your basic set-up move, adding +1 attack and +1 speed.
  • Substitute gives you extra ways to set up boosting opportunities as well as making it way harder to KO you outright.
  • Pain Split is used as your healing move, equalizing the HP between you and the opponent.
  • Glare can be used over Pain Split to Paralyze threats / walls that want to come in such as Mandibuzz or Tapu Lele
Set Details
========
  • Adamant Nature gives the highest attack possible.
  • Aura Break is the only legal ability Zygarde can have.
  • Lucarionite gives a huge boost to offenses, granting Zygarde with Adapability along with a good boost to both speed and attack.
  • Adaptability is Zygarde's post-mega ability, giving Zygarde a boost from 1.5x STAB to 2x STAB, making moves such as thousand arrows and outrage a huge boost in power.
  • 188 HP gives you 404 HP, useful for keeping subs from being broken by seismic toss. 172 Atk / 148 Spe is the best split between the EVs you have left.
Usage Tips
========
  • To put it quite simply, this set makes use of Blissey as set-up fodder. 188 HP puts you at 404 HP, making each substitute easily able to get around seismic toss. Pain Split allows you to recover HP from Blissey's high amounts of it.
  • Lucarionite Zygarde is a very powerful set-up sweeper that can make used of stalls favorite pokemon as set up fodder.
Team Options
========
  • Primal Groudon is an amazing partner for Zygarde, with it being able to set up hazards, cripple the opponents team or just weaken it easily enough for Zygarde to come in and clean up.
  • Magearna makes for a great partner as well, synergizing well with Zygarde due to easily handling the crippled pokemon Zygarde has dealt blows to, as well as Zygarde Checks such as Mew.
  • Revenge Killers and Cleaners make for good partners to Lucarionite Zygarde, with them being able to pick up once Zygarde has finished blowing holes through the opponents teams.
  • Wallbreakers such as Lunala and Kartana make for great partners to Lucarionite Zygarde, weakening teams enough for Zygarde to come in and finish up the game.

[SET]
Name: Altarianite E-Speed Sweeper
Move 1: Extreme Speed
Move 2: Thousand Arrows
Move 3: Dragon Dance
Move 4: Return
Item: Altarianite
Ability: Aura Break
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Nature: Adamant

Moves
========
  • Extreme Speed is the staple of this set, allowing Zygarde to revenge kill a numerous amount of threats once their HP is low enough. Not only that, but the mere existence of Extreme Speed is enough to pressure some pokemon to avoid setting up.
  • Thousand Arrows completes your Ground / Fairy STAB combination, and has the added bonus of being able to hit and smack down flying types, giving a huge advantage when fighting pokemon such as skarmory.
  • Dragon Dance is the Standard Set Up move and is used to boost Zygarde's Attack and Speed. Usually after getting to +1 or +2, Zygarde is able to sweep through unprepared teams.
  • Return is your high-powered move to help break through walls. Sitting at 122 Base Power after Pixilate (compared to Extreme Speed's 96), it allows Zygarde to break through many more walls than it usually would, or create a heavy amount of chip damage for another pokemon to come in and KO with.
Set Details
========
  • 252 Atk / 252 Spe with an Adamant Nature is used to allow Zygarde to hit as hard and fast as possible.
  • Aura Break is Zygarde's only legal ability with a Mega Stone.
  • Altarianite is used to buff Zygarde's Attack and defense, giving Zygarde some actual attack to hit from (100 Pre-Mega is still quite low with the metagame). It also turns Zygarde into Dragon / Fairy type from it's original Dragon / Ground.
  • Pixilate Post-Mega is Zygarde's greatest boon, turning Extreme Speed and Return into it's greatest boons, giving them a 1.2x Boon and a Fairy type STAB.

Usage Tips
========
  • Zygarde's 95 Speed is still very slow for the metagame, even with a +1 boost, as it only hits 433 speed. Anything with a speed stat above that such as Diancite Tapu Lele or Metagrossite Kartana can usually outspeed and KO it.
  • Altarianite Zygarde is best used as a revenge killer / set-up sweeper. 140 Attack with Pixilate isn't the best for Wall-breaker, but it works beautifully as a pokemon that can easily wreck unprepared offense teams and clean up any weakened threat you're worried about.
  • It's best to keep Zygarde as healthy as possible so it can use it's high HP and decent bulk to live hits.
Team Options
========

  • Zygarde also works well as a win-con for stall teams once they have picked off the most potent threats, so pokemon such as Blissey or Buzzwole make for nice teammates.
  • The same wallbreakers mentioned earlier (Kartana, Lunala, Primal Groudon) work wonders for Altarianite Zygarde,
  • Magearna makes for a good teammate, taking out Ice type pokemon such as Weavile and dealing with opposing revenge killers such as Genesect or other Zygarde.
[SET]
Name: Pinsirite Setup
Move 1: Dragon Dance
Move 2: Extreme Speed
Move 3: Thousand Arrows
Move 4: Substitute
Item: Pinsirite
Ability: Aura Break
EVs: 188 HP / 172 Atk / 148 Spe
Nature: Adamant

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========
  • Dragon Dance is your basic set up move for Pinsirite Zygarde, Boosting attack and speed by one stage.
  • Extreme Speed is your main STAB move, as with Altarianite Zygarde. Aerilate boosted Extreme Speed hits hard as both a revenge killing moving and a sweeping move
  • Thousand arrows is used as it's secondary attack move to help remove walls such as Skarmory.
  • Substitute is extremely useful for Zygarde's set-up. The move allows it to set up on pokemon such as Blissey, as well as further bolsters it's ability to get good matchups
Set Details
========
  • The aim of this set is to create a bulky dragon dance sweeper.
  • 188 HP gives you enough HP to hit 404 HP, meaning that substitutes will always take 2 hits from seismic toss and the like.
  • 172 atk / 148 Speed gets you to 372 Attack and 302 speed, and is generally used to keep zygarde at decent tiers for each.
  • Aura Break is Zygarde's only legal ability
  • Pinsirite is used to boost Zygarde's Attack, speed and defenses up; as well as transforming it into the Dragon / Flying type.
  • Aerilate is Zygarde's post-mega ability, and allows it to have it's normal type moves turned into flying type moves and given a 1.2x buff to power.
Usage Tips
========
  • As stated earlier, the 188 HP EVs are used to get Zygarde to 404 HP, allowing Zygarde's substitutes to take 2 hits to knock out from Seismic Toss. This means that Zygarde easily sets up on Blissey
  • This set is best used as a bulky set-up stallbreaker / sweeper / revenge killer, picking off threats when it can, and then finding opportunities to come in and set-up and sweep.

Team Options
========
  • Magearna makes for an amazing partner to Pinsirite Zygarde, with each pokemon dealing with each other's weaknesses easily, allowing each to come in to the other pokemon's checks / counters and use them as setup bait.
  • Wallbreakers such as Lunala, Kartana or Primal Groudon make for great partners to Pinsirite Zygarde. Blowing past checks such as Mew, Buzzwole and Support Arceus forms.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • Lucarionite, Pinsirite, Glalitite and Altarianite are all viable stone options for Zygarde, with each providing different uses for the pokemon.
  • Stone Edge could also be a good move to use over Return as a way to break past pokemon such as Zapdos.
  • Coil is also a good option to use over dragon dance to create an even bulkier set up pokemon
  • Glare is also a good option, crippling fast offensive threats that want to come in freely, but requires more prediction than other options.

Checks and Counters
===================
  • Aggronite Buzzwole walls nearly all forms of Zygarde that exist, with Bulk Up / Lunge dealing heavy blows to Zygarde's Set-up.
  • Tapu Lele checks Zygarde easily, but can not usually come into a +1 Lucarionite or Pinsirite Zygarde.
  • Altarianite Extreme Speeders such as Entei and opposing Zygarde can come in and check opposing Zygardes, with Extreme Speed taking advantage of Zygarde always having a pesky fairy weakness to be afraid of.
  • Support Arceus takes advantage of Zygarde's lack of immediate power and can either OHKO it with Ice beam, 2hko it with Judgment or severely cripple it by burning it.
  • Aggronite / Sablenite Mew comes in and walls Zygarde by burning it or simply koing it with Ice beam / Iron head. Aggronite Mew also resists Zygarde's main STABs (unless Lucarionite) whilst Sablenite Mew just takes advantage of Zygarde's lack of a sky-high attack stat.
  • Ice types can easily come in and OHKO all Zygarde forms with their main STAB, with pokemon such as Glalitite Weavile outright threatening Zygarde out of the lead at any opportune time.

I have a few major problems with this analysis. The usage tips seem to consistently state that it can 'beat Blissey' without even considering Toxic can cripple Zygarde quite badly. It doesn't even mention its best checks and counters at all, and how to get around them.

Pinsirite is running an entirely wrong spread; it should be 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe Adamant with Coil as the main option, as the speed creeps Jolly Altarianite Landorus-Therian.

Lele is nowhere near as good as a check as you seem to make it out to be, I'd argue even Entei is better

Manectite Mew has no mentions here wtf. Zygarde is also nowhere near a stallbreaker, most teams have good prep in the forms of Mew and Buzzwole that are difficult to get past. Balance breaker however? Yes, definitely.

Usage tips are basically terrible here, and Team Options are lacking some of the best partners, such as Darkrai. This imo needs too much work in those sectors, and you look like you haven't ever used Pinsirite from this analysis.

QC Reject 1/3
