Vicious Cobra, a warstory about toxins

Arbok is cool.

Arbok got bad stats.

Stockpile raises both defenses one stage, however, once you got 3 stockpiles you can't raise them anymore.

There's a way to badly poison without using Toxic spikes or Toxic.

It's like 1:00 AM in my country and I'm lazy so I won't bother in leftovers neither sandstorm remove-thingy.

Long warstory is long.

Urban Legend sent out Machamp (lvl 100 Machamp ?).
Riverside sent out DECEMBER 25 (lvl 100 Delibird ?).

Ok, so the battle begins with my classic LeadLibird and a Machamp lead... It's weird, because Machamp can't beat Azelf and got problems against other leads... but, however, seems quite viable.

I don't know what to expect anyways so I just play safe. Machamp can't set up rocks anyways.

Machamp used Substitute.
Machamp lost 25% of its health.
Machamp made a substitute!
DECEMBER 25 used Counter.
But it failed!

Fuck. Delibird's always very useful even without being a lead so I will safe him for later.

Riverside switched in Latias (lvl 100 Latias ?).
Machamp used Dynamicpunch.
It's not very effective...
Latias lost 29% of its health.
Latias became confused!
Latias's Lum Berry cured its Confusion!

Latias's my safest switch in, however, I know machamps can carry payback and that can kill latias easily... Right now there's no leftovers recovery which means this machamp got anything but leftovers, in other words, it won't recover the HP it lose from substitute which means it will die eventually.

Latias used Dragon Pulse.
The substitute took damage for Machamp!
Machamp's substitute faded!
Machamp used Dynamicpunch.
It's not very effective...
A critical hit!
Latias lost 57% of its health.
Latias became confused!

Of-freaking-course he dynamicpunch me and crit. At least I know it doesn't carry payback but... it sucks. Latias survived with something like 13% HP or so... however, in my experience death fodders are very useful late game, when your pokemon are weaken and you got nothing to safe switch in so Im going to save latias aswell, plus, this latias its a bit bulky and got roost meaning that it may recover her HP in a favourable matchup... I guess another dynamicpunch resist may be a good switch in right now.

Riverside switched in cheap (lvl 100 Gyarados ?).
cheap's intimidate cut Machamp's attack!
Machamp used Stone Edge.
It's super effective!
cheap lost 58% of its health.
cheap's leftovers restored its health a little!
cheap restored 6% of its health.

Fuck machamp. I'm losing my mind with this machamp. It got my latias on like 13% HP, hurted a lot gyarados and now I have to let gyarados die (from confusion hax of stone edge) or switch (to something but latias, as I want to save her for later)... in other words, I have seen 1 pokemon from Urban legend but he's going to see my 4th one.

Riverside switched in Kobra (lvl 100 Arbok ?).
Machamp used Substitute.
Machamp lost 25% of its health.
Machamp made a substitute!

Here's my Arbok, Kobra. He resist Dynamicpunch and Machamp got -1 attack thanks to gyarados. Only crit hax may take down Kobra after this:

Kobra used Stockpile.
Kobra stockpiled 1!
Kobra's defence was raised.
Kobra's special defence was raised.

There's nothing you can do now, (BAN ME PLEASE).

Kobra got an encore!

FUCK.

Urban Legend switched in Mamoswine (lvl 100 Mamoswine ?).

Mamoswine used Ice Shard.
Gastrodon lost 23% of its health.
Gastrodon's leftovers restored its health a little!
Gastrodon restored 6% of its health.

First non-life orb'd Mamoswine in the history. For the low damage it's not banded also so it may be a bulky one or scarved. However, I got the type advantage.

55% so it wasn't max. damage? that mamoswine's really powerful. Anyways, this is going nowhere and I will get eventually crit hax'd if this keep like this. time to kill that swine.

Mamoswine used Earthquake.
A critical hit!
Gastrodon lost 57% of its health.
Riverside's Gastrodon fainted.

Yeah, the turn I was going to kill this thing he FUCKING CRITS ME.

It may be fast, but priority goes first always so it's time for the revenge kill.

Riverside switched in Scizor (lvl 100 Scizor ?).
Scizor used Bullet Punch.
It's super effective!
Mamoswine lost 0% of its health.
Urban Legend's Mamoswine fainted.
---
Urban Legend switched in Rotom-h (lvl 100 Rotom-h).

I wonder why he didn't switched to rotom before? mamoswine could've been annoying or just a death fodder in a bad scenario. Anyways scizor killed that thing but now it's in a bad matchup. I don't want to get burned neither Overheat'd

Riverside switched in Latias (lvl 100 Latias ?).
Rotom-h used Will-o-wisp.
Latias was burned!
Latias was hurt by its burn!
Latias lost 12% of its health.

So latias survives with 1% HP. Cool. It was supposed to be death fodder anyways.

Well, rotom got many toys to play with so I'm afraid of shadow ball but, in the ther hand, I don't got a really got switch in against it and knowing rotom's moveset may help a lot. Let's pray for a switch.

Urban Legend switched in Blissey (lvl 100 Blissey ?).
Latias used Roost.
Latias restored 50% of its health.
Latias was hurt by its burn!
Latias lost 12% of its health.

Blissey... not bad for me. This Latias can set up in Blissey's face. While it may hard to kill blissey isn't really a threat.

Latias used Roost.
Latias restored 50% of its health.
Blissey used Ice Beam.
It's super effective!
Latias lost 28% of its health.
Latias was hurt by its burn!
Latias lost 12% of its health.

Thanks to Ice beam + Burn I lost 40% each turn. Not good at all...

Urban Legend switched in Machamp (lvl 100 Machamp ?).
Latias used Calm Mind.
Latias's special attack was raised.
Latias's special defence was raised.
Latias was hurt by its burn!
Latias lost 12% of its health.

YES! Machamp used subs 2 times meaning that he got 50% hp. After one Calm mind I think I'm able to KO it. Die mofo.

Latias used Dragon Pulse.
Machamp lost 44% of its health.
Machamp used Dynamicpunch.
It's not very effective...
Latias lost 26% of its health.
Latias became confused!
Latias was hurt by its burn!
Latias lost 11% of its health.
Riverside's Latias fainted.

Burn does 12% each turn. While the first time I had 13% and I survived with 1% now I had 11% and I died because of that... fucking machamp.

Riverside switched in DECEMBER 25 (lvl 100 Delibird ?).
DECEMBER 25 used Ice Beam.
Machamp lost 6% of its health.
Urban Legend's Machamp fainted.

Told ya' delibird is useful even if isn't lead. I could kill with scizor but you know, I don't want rotom to head up.

Urban Legend switched in Tyranitar (lvl 100 Tyranitar ?).
Tyranitar's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!
A sandstorm brewed!

So a T-tar... I'm afraid of DD since gastrodon died and I want to save my scizor for Heatran or any surprise fire move... right now my best option, IMO, it's to low his attack with gyarados and then see what to do.

Riverside switched in cheap (lvl 100 Gyarados ?).
cheap's intimidate cut Tyranitar's attack!
Tyranitar used Dark Pulse.
cheap lost 43% of its health.
The sandstorm rages.
cheap is buffetted by the sandstorm!
cheap lost 6% of its health.
Riverside's cheap fainted.

So he goes for Dark pulse and I'm very surprised. As smogon page says Dark pulse it's superior sometimes to Crunch in Tyraniboah so I'm thinking it may be in fact that kind of T-tar, however, the amount of damage it did to Gyarados was a lot because this gyarados it's a bulky one (unless it got 2 DDs it won't outspeed much, basically because even with 1 DD he needs jolly to outspeed and I dont like losing adamant's power)

But whatever, Scizor's faster than T-tar and can kill it with Superpower, something that most scizor carries.

Riverside switched in Scizor (lvl 100 Scizor ?).
Urban Legend switched in Rotom-h (lvl 100 Rotom-h).
Riverside switched in Kobra (lvl 100 Arbok ?).

(Yeah, I cut the sandstorm and leftovers this time because it's so fucking long)

So my predictions SKILLZ pay off. I predicted T tar would run away like a (BAN ME PLEASE) against metalheads and I switched to Kobra, my only awnser right now to rotom.

Rotom-h used Will-o-wisp.
Kobra was burned!
Kobra used Stockpile.
Kobra stockpiled 1!
Kobra's defence was raised.
Kobra's special defence was raised.

It was quite predictable, he may be afraid of Crunch or something like that. Whatever, I won't be able to kill the standard rest-talk rotom so Right now I'm like "Ok, I'm screwed"

I got something against rest stalk rotom, the problem it's that I'm not sure if it's going to work...

Rotom-h used Thunderbolt.
Kobra lost 27% of its health.
Kobra used Stockpile.
Kobra stockpiled 2!
Kobra's defence was raised.
Kobra's special defence was raised.

Rotom-h used Shadow Ball.
Kobra lost 16% of its health.
Kobra's special defence was lowered.
Kobra used Rest.
Kobra fell asleep!
Kobra restored 68% of its health.
Kobra shed its skin!

OF FUCKING COURSE. I waste turns setting up and in the first shadow ball he gets the fucking spc def drop. I can't recover that spc def drop because of Stockpile's limit, in other words, with 3 stockpiles now I will have +3 Def and +2 S.Def.

At least Kobra shed it's skin from the rest, meaning that now he can fight with full health.

Urban Legend switched in Salamence (lvl 100 Salamence ?).
Salamence's intimidate cut Kobra's attack!
Kobra used Stockpile.
Kobra stockpiled 3!
Kobra's defence was raised.
Kobra's special defence was raised.

Salamence... he may attack by physical or special side. Probably it's the Life orb one and I dont like the idea of getting EQ'd.

In the other hand life orb ones carry flamethrower/fire blast meaning that Scizor can't Switch in easily...

Let's recap how the match's going

Riverside: Delibird, Arbok (+3 def, +2 s def, stockpile limit), Scizor, Gyarados X_x, Latias x_X, Gastrodon x_x

Urban Legend: Salamence, Tyranitar, Rotom, Machamp X_x, Mamoswine x_X

Score: 3-4 Urban Legend winning.

Salamence used Dragon Dance.
Salamence's attack was raised.
Salamence's speed was raised.
Kobra used Poison Fang.
Salamence lost 13% of its health.
Salamence was badly poisoned!

FUCK YEAH ARBOK

First you shed your skin in the first turn and now you badly poison Mence in the first try, awesome!

Well, it doesnt got Leftovers recovery neither Lum berry and it's DDmence... I'm afraid of a Life orb EQ from a mence even if I got more defenses... however, mence got much HP to be revenge killed now... I have to try to do some more damage.

Salamence used Dragon Dance.
Salamence's attack was raised.
Salamence's speed was raised.
Kobra used Poison Fang.
Salamence lost 12% of its health.
Salamence is hurt by poison!
Salamence lost 12% of its health.

The poison's slightly increasing the damage plus his own sandstorm... time to play all my cards.

Riverside switched in DECEMBER 25 (lvl 100 Delibird ?).
Salamence used Outrage.
Salamence went on a rampage!
DECEMBER 25 lost 100% of its health.
DECEMBER 25 hung on using its Focus Sash!
Salamence lost 10% of its health.
[Salamence is hurt by poison!
Salamence lost 18% of its health.

So in fact it was a DD life orb mence. I had to sacrifice Delibird because I wanted a 100% health Scizor. I think the Focus sash it has may surprise rotom... or not... but... meh, let's just kill Salamence.

Riverside switched in Scizor (lvl 100 Scizor ?).
Scizor used Bullet Punch.
Salamence lost 5% of its health.
Urban Legend's Salamence fainted.
The sandstorm rages.

Urban Legend switched in Rotom-h (lvl 100 Rotom-h).

Rotom-h used Overheat.
A critical hit!
Kobra lost 76% of its health.
Rotom-h's special attack was harshly lowered.
---
Riverside: Of fucking course

YEAH! Of fucking course! He crit's Arbok and now he has like 23% or 24% HP... it an arbok, how bulky can it be? it's dead now and now all's over because rotom can just WoW scizor and screw my sash. Fuck this.

Rotom-h used Thunderbolt.
Kobra lost 19% of its health.
Kobra used Rest.
Kobra fell asleep!
Kobra restored 94% of its health.
Kobra shed its skin!

Let's recap what happened in the last 2 turns:

I switched in Arbok to take a WoW that I tought was aimed to scizor, however, rotom used Overheat instead and got a critical hit against arbok who now barely survives.

Then, rotom uses Thunderbolt and arbok survies with like 3 or 4% HP which it's great by itself but not only that but ARBOK RESTORES IT'S OWN SLEEP STATUS!!!!

In other words, now I got a 100% health Arbok and most important: I know Rotom's set: Overheat, WoW, T bolt and Shadow ball. It's not the Rest stalk one (even a just rest one would be hard to kill) so I may kill it with poison!

But it's weird. Rotom its a bulky pokemon... why this bulky pokemon doesn't got any support? Machamp, mamos, mence and T-tar are far from being support pokemon... it could be that Urban Legend uses only 2 pokemon as his defense core? but this rotom doesn't got rest so... his last pokemon, the one that he's hiding from me it's a pokemon that can support?...

Urban Legend switched in Tyranitar (lvl 100 Tyranitar ?).
Tyranitar's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!
Kobra used Stockpile.
Kobra stockpiled 1!
Kobra's defence was raised.
Kobra's special defence was raised.
---
Kobra used Stockpile.
Kobra stockpiled 2!
Kobra's defence was raised.
Kobra's special defence was raised.

Tyranitar used Flamethrower.
Kobra lost 21% of its health.

21%... I guess that's because Arbok's (regarding stats) isn't that bulky but whatever. I'm faster and now got +2 in both defenses. Let's poison this thing.

Kobra used Poison Fang.
It's not very effective...
Tyranitar lost 6% of its health.
Tyranitar was badly poisoned!
Tyranitar used Flamethrower.
Kobra lost 22% of its health.

Yeah! Another badly poison pokemon! now... the last set up and then restore your health, status and most important: avoid being killed by a critical hit.

Kobra used Stockpile.
Kobra stockpiled 3!
Kobra's defence was raised.
Kobra's special defence was raised.
Tyranitar used Flamethrower.
Kobra lost 17% of its health.

Tyranitar's trying too hard to kill arbok, but he's losing more and more health every turn... but it's odd that he only uses flamethrower being able to use Dark pulse... don't tell me that... no... it's impossible, flamethrower it's there to deal with scizor and Forretress while Dark pulse deal with Rotom, all of those can be a problem for the powerful physical moves that T tar carry.

Kobra used Rest.
Kobra fell asleep!
Kobra restored 59% of its health.
Tyranitar used Flamethrower.
Kobra lost 18% of its health.
Tyranitar is hurt by poison!
Tyranitar lost 19% of its health.
---
Urban Legend switched in Blissey (lvl 100 Blissey ?).
Kobra is fast asleep!

Yeah... a support pokemon, blissey...

So the only two reasons why he would use bliss against arbok are:

-Status absorb
-Support with Wish and Heal bell

But he doesn't know my secret weapon: Until now I have used only Poison Fang, Stockpile and Rest on Arbok...

Kobra is fast asleep!
Blissey used Aromatherapy.

One more turn...

Kobra woke up!
Kobra used Spite.
It reduced the PP of the foe's Blissey's Aromatherapy by 4!
Blissey used Ice Beam.
Kobra lost 8% of its health.

IN-YOUR-FACE

In one turn Blissey lost 5 Aromatherapy PPs. Now she's going to be much more careful when using cleric moves.

Anyways, now that he doesn't got any steel pokemon neither something that can recover it's own status it's time to poison blissey and force a switch.

Kobra used Poison Fang.
Blissey lost 16% of its health.
Blissey used Ice Beam.
Kobra lost 8% of its health.
---
Kobra used Poison Fang.
Blissey lost 16% of its health.
Blissey was badly poisoned!
Blissey used Ice Beam.
Kobra lost 7% of its health.
Blissey is hurt by poison!
Blissey lost 6% of its health.

---
Kobra used Poison Fang.
Blissey lost 16% of its health.
Blissey used Aromatherapy.

So now bliss got 2 PPs of aromatherapy...

I don't know what to do in this turn. If I spite and fail (in other words, if Urban legend switch predicting my spite) that means I lose a potentially -4 PPs from my opponent, however, if he decides to stay, as arbok's faster, he will lose ALL the aromatherapy PPs meaning that other than bliss nobody in Urban Legend's team will be able to absorb the poison...

If I use it correctly I will won much more than what I lose if I spite and miss... let's do this.

[side=left]Kobra used Spite.
It reduced the PP of the foe's Blissey's Aromatherapy by 4!
Blissey used Softboiled.
Blissey restored 50% of its health.
[/side]

YES! No more Aromatherapy PPs! now all I have to do it's to poison blissey...

Kobra used Rest.
Kobra fell asleep!
Kobra restored 41% of its health.
Blissey used Ice Beam.
A critical hit!
Kobra lost 40% of its health.

I don't remember what I was thinking here but it turned great.

If I haven't sleep'd then Ice beam would do 40% to my arbok... arbok had 41% hp meaning that Sandstorm would kill him and Rotom would easily kill scizor.

Kobra is fast asleep!
Blissey used Ice Beam.
Kobra lost 9% of its health.

Kobra is fast asleep!

=/

Well, It's my chance to poison this thing now that there's no cleric that will save you, rotom.

If I get rid of rotom Superpower scizor can easily kill T tar and blissey, however, there's always the risk of a fire attack, specially from T tar.

Rotom-h used Shadow Ball.
Kobra lost 14% of its health.
Kobra's special defence was lowered.
Kobra used Poison Fang.
It's not very effective...

Again rotom got the damned Spc def drop but at least I got my poison. Rotom will fall.

Kobra lost 15% of its health.
Kobra's special defence was lowered.
Kobra used Rest.

Enough hax already >_>

Rotom-h used Overheat.
Rotom-h's attack missed!
Kobra is fast asleep!
Kobra shed its skin!

Thank you :)

So now it's time to slowly kill rotom... another thing that Poison fang got over toxic it's that it can add more damage than the one that the poison does. In other words, its like toxic+extra damage. Of course you have to poison the foe first.

Rotom-h used Overheat.
Kobra lost 24% of its health.
Rotom-h's special attack was harshly lowered.

Urban Legend switched in Tyranitar (lvl 100 Tyranitar ?).

YEAH! now all the way's clear for scizor, however, I'm really scared of Flamethrower T tar.

It haven't switched attacks so it may be... specs... but I'm not sure, it's so odd... and what about if it's chople? then I'm screwed... the sure thing it's poison kill!

Kobra used Poison Fang.

Devoured by darkness, The Kobra smiles before return to his pokeball, smiles to a blissey that's going to find his death soon. Kobra's sad however, because he couldn't eat blissey by himself

Ok, enough already.

Arbok is the shit.

What was your Arbok's nature and EV spread?

I can't wait for Switcheroo in HG/SS. My planned Arbok set is:

Ability: Intimidate
Item: Black Sludge
Nature: Impish
EVs: 252 HP, 252 DEF, 4 ATK
Moves:
- Switcheroo
- Earthquake
- Poison Jab / Gunk Shot
- Glare

Black Sludge acts as Leftovers most of the time, but I can Switcheroo Sludge onto a non-poison foe so that it will take 16% damage every turn. Plus it lets me steal Choice Band or Scarf and attack with Quake and Poison Jab.

I prefer non-shiny form though.

That was an ... interesting (for lack of a better word) read. The comments weren't all that great, but I like the personality you injected into it, and the NU Pokemon used made the match more interesting than all the bog standard ones you see. Not exactly Archive material, but not bad either.

im agreeing with most peeps, the comments are quite lacking yet i like how theres NU pokemon.
6/10 a weird yet intresting warstory....

EDIT:Looking back,All those swears and the fact that your insulting your foe makes this warstory abit more medicore.

I'm also interested in this Arbok's EV Spread. If it's not secret, might you tell us it? :)

Regardless, a fun read. Not an amazing battle, but it's was entertaining and your comments were charismatic.

If missingno. master has taught us anything, it's that Arbok deserves to be OU. It is a good Scizor counter (intimdate and a Firefang OKAO.), and now there is a stockpile set. ARBOK FOR OU!

Anyway, decent warstory. I'd give it about an 8/10, since there was a lot of hax.

You complained about the guy's Special Defense downs, but then you fail to see that you got a turn 1 shed skin like 3 times, as well as getting Poison Fang's bad poison every time you used it...

All in all I'd say you haxed him more than he haxed you.

Machamp used Encore.
Kobra got an encore!
FUCK.

Urban Legend switched in Mamoswine (lvl 100 Mamoswine ?).
Riverside switched in Latias (lvl 100 Latias ?).

FUCK FUCK.
You know, you're supposed to comment on your moves, not swear. Things like that and the intro really showed your "seriousness" towards writing this, so that kind of got me to stop reading. Sorry, but try reading some archived warstories to see how it's really done.

Edit: Seeing other comments, maybe this warstory is better than I described it, but my point is that writing like that can cause a lot of readers (like me) to stop reading, and you don't want that.

Very nice use of Arbok...not a great battle otherwise. Atrocious commentary fuck fuck (BAN ME PLEASE) (BAN ME PLEASE) fuck.

No images? :(

Do you always insult your opponent?

Do you love the f-word? (I know the answer to this one)

6/10

Still an enjoyable read so I'll give it a 6 out of 10.

I'm kinda confused, you said Gyarados was confused thanks to Stone Edge? How's that possible? And when you did the recap, you forgot that he already had used Blissey on your Latias (you used it as setup fodder for Calm Mind).

Overall a nice battle. As I said before, you should had paid more attention to your comments. Epic Arbok is Epic. I really like it.

7/10

Well, using 3 Not very common Pokemon to take down a Team with a Salamence in it is brilliant, and Arbok Freakin' wins.

9/10 for an awesome battle. 7/10 for commentary, as it was lacking.

I got to
FUCK.

Urban Legend switched in Mamoswine (lvl 100 Mamoswine ?).
Riverside switched in Latias (lvl 100 Latias ?).

FUCK FUCK.

Riverside switched in Gastrodon (lvl 100 Gastrodon ?).
Mamoswine used Ice Shard.
Gastrodon lost 23% of its health.
Gastrodon's leftovers restored its health a little!
Gastrodon restored 6% of its health.
then stopped reading. Sorry.

Has anyone noticed that the other team does not have ANY steel types at all? I wonder how you've fared against teams that actually do carry them.

You mean, 98% of the teams?
I`m guessing gyara is his best against them, but it isnt reliable. Does latias carry HP-Fire, at least?
I always loved poison fang for being a pseudo toxic, but never though it would be useful someday.

Why does the warstory have to be "serious"? I thought it was a very good story featuring NU pokemon. Neither person made gross misplays, and it really highlighted a previously never used set effectively against a) what seems like a counter (aromatherapy blissey) and b) one of the most powerful offensive mons in the game (salamence). If you're so offended by a couple swear words then maybe online forums are not the place for you...

Anyways, I thought that although it was written as warstory material (who says every warstory has to make it to the archive?) it was a very entertaining read, since unlike other battles featuring NU pokemon, this time the opponent didn't make severe misplays. I hope you write more stories in the future 8/10

Some of us like it when people make an attempt at seeming mature. Swears were thrown around in this warstory so much that it was not "a couple", and detracted very much from the battle itself. The props and slops section looked more like a bragging session than final commentary.
And for technical stuff, aromatherapy blissey isnt a counter to arbok, and idk why Salamence didn't EQ.

I very much enjoyed the read. The amount of critical hits the opponent landed on you was unbelievable.

I say we make a toast, to Arbok.

then stopped reading. Sorry.
There are other ways to state your opinion without you coming of as a total ass. Why even waste the time to post stopped reading.

Doesn't that mean you read it?

I did CTRL+F for Salamence. Swear content came from other people. Props and Slops are at the bottom. Anything I forgot?
