Simple question:I would like to insert a Smeargle in a TR team, which ability could be better,Moody or Own Tempo?
Thank you!
I'm against Moody in general but it all depends on personal interest. You could accidently gain speed which is something that a lot of people don't like so maybe just Own Tempo

So apparently Inner Focus on Kangaskhan is available through transfer only...
Unless you breed

They aren't available in ORAS at all. I had to go into my Y file. Btw hype for Jolly Scrappy catch on the first Kang in the cave!

i think i may have a few inner focus kangaskhans if you're interested, you could also ask on the simple trade requests forum if i'm not available

It is imo, since with scrappy you generally have to be fast to have a chance against opposing kang, and there are only a few viable ghost types in this format (gengar/mega, giratina, aegislash etc), whilst with inner focus you can safely lead against opposing fake out users, but i would recommend trying them both out on SD! first :)

Are there any teambuilding workshops for VGC? I still am unsure how to really go about building Pokemon (EV wise) for VGC and would like some help with a new team idea I had, or just cementing the team I currently have just with no EVs yet...

No we do not have a teambuilding workshop atm. Currently if you need help finishing off a team I think this thread is the best way to go, just try to avoid filling up page after page with fine tuning of EV spreads and such. And who knows, it might come one soon~

I posted a VGC 16 RMT the other day and received some feedback.

In this feedback Draconid997 mentions switching my Kyogre to a Modest Nature.

I have been SR today and finally received this Kyogre - Modest - 31/10/31/31/31/12.

Since my goal is to function in Trick Room, but also survive outside of it, is that IV spread usable?

Ideally you want to have max speed to operate well outside of TR, since you can then speed creep neutral base 90's and can be used in and out of TR well (also in tailwind, you will underspeed mega mewtwo y and scarf landorus-t with 12 IVs). I think Theorymon has a 31/x/31/31/31/31 modest kyogre in his giveaway. Also, i should probably suggest a slightly different spread than i did for speed creeping neutral base 90's outside of TR:

Kyogre-Primal @ Blue Orb

Credit to hydreigone for the spread, the 36 EVs are just for speed creeping base 90's and for outspeeding scarf lando-t/mega mewtwo y in TW :)

There's also a good guide on Smogon about how to efficiently soft reset for good legendaries. It's in the Orange Islands section.

Don't keep that please.

I'm thinking of Mewtwo with Blizzard, Focus Blast, Psystrike, and Rest and Mewtwonite Y alongside Gravity support.
That kind of set might seem really silly to pros; wanted to test it for myself to find out, but alas, I missed the March competition by 1 day.
Actual question I wanted to get at: is Mewtwo viable in the current climate?

(Thread started on nugget bridge, thought i might ask here as well)

Does anyone have a sableye set that they've found to be useful/successful?

Specifically for a role similar to that in Baz Anderson/TheSaxLad's gravity team:
(
*
/
) *Kyurem-White

With a moveset like:

Sableye
Ability: Prankster
- Gravity
- Quash
- Feint / Fake Out
- Taunt

Thanks

I don't have much experience running Sableye myself but that's roughly the set I've seen when I've encountered it, though I've encountered Foul Play as well. The tricky part is dealing with Xerneas since Taunt alone isn't necessarily going to stop it, especially with redirection or Fake Out to negate Quash/Taunt attempts. Personally not a huge fan of it but it works.

Mewtwo is not one of the more viable pokemon at the moment, though I do not think people have tried it out because it uses a restricted slot and sometimes a mega slot as well and the opportunity cost of running it is simply higher than other restricted mons. It also has relatively low defenses in base form while not being able to secure important OHKOs on the more viable pokemon in the meta. Granted, I'm sure someone can build a team around it with enough support or use it as a support mon (which is the way to go imo).

QQ: When do the effects of Swift Swim take place. I just played a match where I had Mega Swampert, and Mantine on field, switched Mantine for Kyogre to bring the rain, but Swampert didn't go first (others were Groundon, and non-geo Xerneas). So that tells me SS effects take place before turn starts? To be fair I'm totally new to doubles, and VGC. Also Swampert had mega evolved on a previous turn.
