Midou says:

3v3

DQ: 3 Days
Recovery: 1 Recovery, 3 Chills
Arena: Winter Riverbank

Summary:

In the midst of winter, a riverbank not too far out from local roads and towns doubles as a wonderfully white and tricky battle arena. There is only skinny, leafless trees that are not very good for cover but will burn well. Patches of ice are scattered loosely in a line resembling the old meandering river, which is shallow regardless during the other seasons of the year. Vegetation is scarce and the ground is lifeless, but the soil is soft enough to Dig through. A steep hill towers over one side of the river, flush with snow that has accumulated.

Weather-wise the air is quite chilly, but the sun is bright and there is a firm south-blowing wind for the planned battle day. No chance for hail, but light rain expected in the late afternoon. Gravel and dirt too mixed with snow to make even a weak sandstorm possible.

Notable features:
- Aside from the wind, the bank is quiet and there will be no distractions Pokemon/people wise.
- Though most of the field is covered by snow, there are patches of ice both hidden and revealed that make the landscape slippery, extra caution is advised unless you have padded feat or a sure step.
- Rain will fall mid-to-late match at the Referee's discretion.
- Steep hill off to the side covered with snow.

ok FUCK snow, if we're gonna have to deal with patches of ice hidden like they are we might as well go with Bruce for the whole padded feet thing that was mentioned (they at least look like little pads ): ) to start off, with poison heal of course

umm let's start off with using leech seed on Teresa to get the healing going asap for us over here. Next, we can go ahead and use toxic on her which will be nice if she uses detect on the first action. Go ahead and finish the set up by using poison powder on yourself.

Alright I see how you wanna play GK. Teresa we need to work fast, use Yawn right away and try your best to evade those seeds, let the ice guide you. Next up Detect to avoid that toxic and close some distance between you and Bruce. Lastly, wait for Bruce to spray his powders into the air and use Quick Attack to push him outta the way. If you take the poison, we just gotta bite the bullet for this one.

Leech Seed - Toxic - Poison Powder (on self)

---------------------------------------------------------

Brrrr! Hey dudes and welcome to the first chilly round of newbie trainer Midou vs pro trainer GoldenKnight! Here we're going to observe how firmly GoldenKnight will be crushing his opponent today! Or not? In any case, this is sure going to be a fun ride!

Before we get into any royal rumbles, let's take a look at the interesting layout of the arena! There's a pretty steep snowy hill off the to mid-right area, though it looks really dangerous to even be on! To add on, there's even patches of hidden ice covered under the snow, making it oh the more slippery. Oh, I see some water! It doesn't seem to be that frozen at both the bottom area and the top area, so it totally looks like swimming time! Let's take a dive! ...

... it's freaking cold... even with the sun blazing out like that! SUN! YOU'RE NOT DOING YOUR JOB RIGHT!!!

Ah shoot, the party is starting without me looking! GK has already sent out a quite shroomy Bruce (Shroomish) onto the freezing cold... I really don't think Bruce is liking this at all! Look at Bruce, shivering with his little... whatsamacallit? ANYWAY, looks like the opposition, Midou, has sent out the furry Teresa (Eevee) upon the frozen land, whose furry coat is sure to repel the evil cold in this area! Bruce is located near the eastern trees while Teresa was sent out on the lefthand side, where the visible snow are!

With her superior Speed, Teresa advances slightly toward Bruce across the river's "stepping stone", takes a deep breath, and Yawns loudly at Bruce, who immediately takes notice. Sadly, it was too late to dodge the force as Bruce immediately felt the effects of sleep! But, he's not ready to doze off just yet as he leeches some seeds upon the fierce Teresa. Dozens of seeds are already sprouting upon her, sapping away part of her life force to Bruce's will. As a consequence of the loud yawn, some layers of the hill's snow has somewhat slid downward, but it wasn't much to note.

Keeping up his barrage of indirect damage, Bruce unleashes a spit of Toxic gas upon the small isle of ice. However, Teresa Detects the move with the speed of light, avoiding any contact while jumping out of the toxicated piece of ice onto Bruce's side. Good show Teresa sweety!

Now that she's near Bruce, Teresa swiftly... waits? Wait, what are you doing just sitting there, Teresa dearly! Bruce watches little Teresa with a sightful eye, but he doesn't seem to have any intent of doing any damage. Instead, he prepares to spore dozens of Poison Powder on... himself?!??! Before any of the powder gets in contact, though, Teresa unleashes a lightning fast Quick Attack that shoves Bruce from his location and onto a dead tree, breaking parts of its branches! SNAP! Did she really just take the poison in Bruce's stake though??? How kind! It doesn't seem good for her though as she coughs up some mucus onto the snow, staining it.

Both contenders are at the eastern part of the stage. The southernmost ice isle is piled with Toxic, but the other one is not. Of course, the Pokemon can just go north a bit and around the body of water to avoid jumping on the poison (or ice isles in general). It's pretty sunny, and I don't see any chances of rain anytime soon! Maybe next time?

Midou's turn!

Excellent work Teresa, that went how it was planned. Now we need to keep Bruce from poisoning itself for one more action, so if it tries anything, wait and Quick Attack like last time. If it attacks instead, use Detect. Now while Bruce is asleep, rush the ice and slam into him with Return! Your strongest attack, but not strong enough to wake him up from sleep. Finally use Wish to finish the round.

Hop to Toxicated Snow/Ice Isle - Drain Punch - Drain Punch

---------------------------------------------------------

Still frosty but nonetheless batalharable!

Teresa is determined on making sure that Bruce doesn't activate his nasty Poison Heal ability and goes into a prone position upon waiting for Bruce's move. Is he going to attack or poison himself or what??? Guess what, it appears to be none of the above! Bruce, with his last breath of being awake, jumps toward the last round's Toxic-filled snow isle! Immediately as Bruce decides to jump, Teresa hastily pounces a Quick Attack on the fleeing Bruce, but this attack only boosted his momentum upon the poisoned isle. Together, they crash upon the isle like a falling meteor, with Teresa's head smashed upon the ice and her hind legs on top of Bruce, and with him laying on the bottom. At the very least, Bruce managed to become poisoned! Bravo! Upon being somewhat squished by the female creature in the worst position ever, Bruce is experience some ugly sexual sensations and falls asleep (Deep Sleep). Dude, wake up! Your Leech Seed and Poison Powder seem to be taking their toll on Teresa though as she grunts upon her lost of health. And stop healing! It's ridiculous! Seriously? Poison Heal activated now?

Teresa uses this time to rack up some damage - she raises her head and body, and slides off of Bruce's top in the direction of the eastern woods and rams him with love (actually for Midou) in Return! At least it's not gay love! But, I really don't think Bruce liked it. As a consequence of the attack, Bruce is bounced from the isle onto the western snowland, though barely touching parts of the freezing water. Bruce experiences some brutal bruises on his shroomy shrooms, but he seems to be alright! He's still sleeping after all... and you gotta admit that the those dots of drained health from Teresa to Bruce is a sign of love! Teresa's poison? Not so much. Oh plopping plop, Bruce just restored some of his bruises to normal. That was fast...

Noticing the vicious amounts of indirect damage she's taking, Teresa decides to Wish upon the frozen skies, though there isn't a moon in sight. She seems confident that the move worked though as she's grinning with pleasure in anticipation of a happy event in the near future. That must be a great wish, but it's not such a great wish for the snoozing Bruce over there! You snooze, you lose! Although, he's not losing when he receives his last batch of stolen health from Teresa - looks like Leech Seed has snapped away! Gladly, it seems Teresa is getting used to the not so deadly poison, but I can tell it still hurts. And there's Bruce, cheating with his Poison Heal and healing up his past bruises almost to perfection again. I'm reporting you to the blacklist good sir!

Bruce may have a weakness for cold, but he seems to be getting used to the climate here! The toxic level poison situated at the isle has decreased to a normal poison level. It will go away the next round. Also, it's getting kinda windy. I don't think it'll have any direct effect on this battle though!

ok it's time to do some damage directly!

start things off by using Seed Bomb on the Eevee followed up with our own Swords Dance to boost the damage output that's going on. Finish the round with a Drain Punch to heal things up a bit

Let's get crafty Teresa, you're doing excellent.

As Bruce prepares to seed bomb you, burrow into the snow with Dig. Don't bother staying too long, and attack from underneath! Follow up with another Return while it dances. And finally finish up with Detect and watch the lump try to punch without arms.

---------------------------------------------------------

Teresa leap over onto the western snow in a harsh... Digging attempt? Upon contact with the snow, you can see her hastily crawling upon the snow with loads of leftover snow in the waters! But, it's kinda taking some time... freaking ice. Bruce finally wakes up from his what we could call an eternal slumber and attempts to get a Seed Bomb off, but the attack only manages to hit Teresa's nearby tail. At least it hit! But it seems Teresa is nowhere in sight now! Sneaky like a ninja, Teresa unburrows under the unaware Bruce and headbutts her way out of the dig, blasting Bruce even more westward throughout the skies! Teresa wags her tail at the flying Bruce to freshen herself up for the next action.

You can really hear some evil witchy laughs accumulating from the crafty Teresa! She continues her assault upon Bruce with a swift Return to the face, blowing him right across the white snow, but gladly that's all there was. Bruce seems alright as he retaliates with a... Swords Dance! Oh, I thought he would attack... but he seems to be interested by clinging nonexistent swords together to boost his offense while dancin' to lady gaga! Still a little boy, him, with his toys and all.

Now that Bruce feels much more battle prepared, he skits across the snow and prepares a Drain Punch to Teresa's face. However, she nimbly Detects the move and hops right over his head! God damn, she's hot and crafty!

It seems to be all working in Teresa's plan and favor, as the wish she made earlier from before has now activated and restored 20 of her precious HP! How wonderful!

Midou's turn! I skipped talking about poison and poison heal as it's getting stale lol. It's all calculated in though.

edit: And Swords Dance, lol.

Ok girl, we gotta keep up the pressure. The battle is dragging out but we gotta make sure we make this close to even for the next match-up. Since everyone's a bit tired, use your famous Yawn. Follow up with Return and Tackle, mindful of the ice. If Bruce uses Drain Punch, use Detect once to dodge it.

Yawn -> Return -> Tackle
Detect replaces any 1 action for Drain punch.

i guess the good news is that yawn won't sleep me for as long this time -.-

let's go ahead and start off with a Facade to cause some nice damage, follow up with Seed Bomb and finish off by chilling. Unfortunately that swords dance ended up being a bit of a waste.

Here's a breezy wheezy Round 4 coming your way!

Both contenders are located at the western area of the arena, where apparently there's a good "plain" of snow! There are still some trees situated at the area, but most of them are very isolated and in dumb areas.

Teresa begins the match by creeping a little closer to Bruce and Yawning at his face in a very tiring mood. She's tired man, can't you just put a blanket over her and call it a day? Bruce apparently doesn't think so and focuses on using his good poison to his advantage. With a glow of green, he jumps and rams Teresa with a good focused Facade, rolling her through the snow like a falling snowball. Bruce is definitely not drowsy yet!

After licking her battle wounds, Teresa rises from the snow and starts dashing toward so slow Bruce. She attacks with a faithful Return to the head, and guess what, it had just the same side effect that earlier Facade had! There's Bruce, rolling through the snow, but this time, he's actually the snowball! Not that it was too much snow to shrug off though as from the snow pops out a rapid fire Seed Bomb from across the field, striking Teresa right on the head! Headshot! Sadly though, that wasn't a critical hit.

Determined to get at least one more legit strike on, Teresa leaps upon the snow and delivers a fatal Tackle attack, ramming Bruce all the way back to the "coast" of the river. He didn't go bloop though, gladly! Bruce didn't seem to mind the Tackle too much as he chills with the frosty waters. Sometimes, he can spot a fresh frozen Magikarp in the waters, but that's for another day of chilling. While he was out chilling, his Swords Dance spirit boost wooshed! Disappeared! Gone! Vanished! Oopsies!

It seems like Bruce is drooling some dreams down from his mouth, but he's at least half awake. Teresa, on the other hand, is as active as a puppy, jiggling around here and there. Don't mind the snow, just move along!

Ooooh, wow, I messed one thing up. Return was suppose to have 8 base attack, not 10, last round. I changed the stuff to reflect the change. Basically, Bruce got +2 HP.

And uhh, there are two pages about sleep that are contradicting each other. At the Referee thread, it's 2 and 4, while at the Data thread, it's 1 and 2. I'll be going with 1 and 2 as I think it's supposed to be changed to that, but Dick Knight forgot about the Referee thread.

Want your Round 5 served with a cherry on top?

Apparently Teresa doesn't have time for games and cherries though, as she swooshes right past my point of view and delivers a faithful Return attack to the enduring Bruce. He's busted and droops right into the freezing water! But he's a Grass-type, right? And it's still water... correct? Not ice? Aha, yes, there's Bruce jumping right out of the water, serving his enemy Teresa with a freezing... Drain Punch? What the hell, where did those FISTS come from? After the assault, Bruce decides it's nap time and dozes off into a healthy sleep (Light Sleep). This must be one quick nap!

Taking advantage of the situation, Teresa gives Bruce one of her many rams (how many times has she been hitting Bruce anyway? bad boy!) - a Tackle attack! Bruce is shoved, once again, into the beloved frosty waters. At the very least, he's floating with his face all cuddled like a little baby, sleeping. Bawwww! Not even a Tackle attack could ruin his cute face!

For her final strike of the round, Teresa takes a little time off in thinking how to use her next Return attack on a floating Bruce. Yeah, that's it, just jump right on Bruce into the water! And Teresa does just that! SPLOOSH! A large explosion of water is conjured and there appears to be quite an injured Bruce. But at that moment, Bruce's eyes awaken and spits out a barrage of underwater Seed Bombs upon the rising Teresa, who gets struck right on her belly and gets a blast upward into the quite sunny sky and onto the white, fresh snow! Bruce resurfaces and smirks at the lovely lady. He pulls off some shades out of nowhere and puts them on - "Is that all?" They probably weren't even shades though.

God damn, shrooms are tough.

One starry Round 6...

As the cold airs breeze through the sunny skies, we find ourselves one weary customer - Teresa - and one less weary, but wet, consumer - Bruce. Teresa is almost at her last breath, but can she at the very least make her last mark?

Teresa starts by... waiting? Is she waiting for her foe to attack her? That would only prolong her poison! There's Bruce advancing out of the chilly waters and constructing an Absorb attack that... is blocked by a swift Protect! Was that really worth it m'dear?

With the poison taking the toll on her, Teresa only has so long on this frozen battleground. As such, she takes action by creating some space between Bruce and her, and then charging in for an all-in Return filled with love and compassion for her trainer! Bruce attempts to retaliate and soften the blow with his Headbutt, but the speed, power, and love behind the determined Return was too much for the Headbutt and sent Bruce flying over to the eastern side of the arena, where his shroomy mates are sure to meet him! This action ends with a gloomy Teresa who's struggling to stay awake... when the final hour of the poison finally weaves in and puts her into a deep night sleep.

I granted Return to do full damage since Teresa had more Speed to put more momentum into the attack and that attack did more damage than Headbutt numerically. And, it was full of unbeatable love for her trainer!

So Midou needs to release a new Pokemon but not its orders as it's GK's turn next.

well this is looking like the end of the road, hopefully we can go out with a bang

make sure to hit it with toxic and once that is done leech seed, so we can set up for our next pokemon. If you can make a third action (toxic hitting the first action, then whatever with leech seed) do ahead and try out a Drain Punch

Time to avenge Teresa!

Storm the battlefield with a Flame Wheel Red! Maneuver through the snow to avoid the toxic before landing your hit! For your second action use Nitro Charge to clear out the rest of the vegetation before any seeds take root. If a 3rd action is necessary, Flame Wheel once more.

Bloody bloody Round 7...

With the departure of Teresa, Midou sends out a brand new Pokemon - Red the Growlithe! Located at the center arena area, he seems to be the kinda watchful, but more likely hasty! Just don't burn up this frozen arena too much!

Red starts off by blazing himself into flames and wheeling around the arena's waters in a strategic way... toward Bruce! This seems to be boosting his evasiveness! Bruce stares at Red's incremental speed and attempts to aim a direct Toxic, but it goes completely off course and misses! At the very least, the toxic gas was blown toward parts of the western side's arena, but not by far. By then, it's too late for Bruce to hop away as the mighty Red reaches his destination and toasts the little shroom into a sizzling barbeque!

Not letting any momentum slip, Red begins charging up a burning and speedy Flame Charge and smashes upon Bruce right before any Leech Seed were popped out. If there were any, they would have surely been burned alive from Red's increased momentum! Upon the smash, Bruce flies through the southeast air and bumps onto a pretty much dead tree that snaps into pieces! Crumbles of branches immediately fall and bang on the branch-crippled Bruce's head for an overkill! I think Bruce has more than enough already... but at the very least, Teresa has been avenged!

Parts of the arena have been heating up, probably due to Red's fiery activities! Traces of Red's wheel trails and footprints can be visibly seen from his actions. Will this have any impact on the match?

Forecast time! So... I think it's getting pretty cloudy. Yep, that's your forecast! Until next time, cya!
