[WIN] Stormrage Depths (Hard) – Arcanite and deadfox081

Engineer Pikachu

Good morning, you bastards!
is a Contributor Alumnus
You slowly procede through the damp tunnel down the depths of the mountain, illuminating your path with enchanted torches you acquired in the New Dawn fortress. Sometimes you hear ominous noises echoing through the stale air, but you think they probably are caused by bats or similar creatures. The ground is coursed by light quakes every now and then, but nothing which makes you worry about. As you make your way down, your torches illuminate a fascinating limestone cave, similar to an ancestral sculpture which lies buried into the earth for ages. A Zubat flies above your head, making you wonder how there could be life even in a place like this.

As you walk carefully between the white stalagmites, the cavern slowly widens in a particularly large vault, with some stalactites scattered on the ceiling. You are unsure whether to going on or not - maybe the cause of the seismic waves Lance was looking for is not even here. All you can see around you are rocks, barren floors with few damp spots here and there. After a while, you decide to come back, but all of a sudden, a horrible shriek echoes through the cavern! You look around frantically, then, as you turn your eyes above your heads, the figure of a menacing winged creature comes out of the shadows! You ready your Poké Balls, in the face of the new threat.

Good morning, you bastards!

hey if you guys get four days i get four days too -_-

Meteor Mash: 100% Acc, 40% +1 Atk
Flash Cannon: 30% +1 SpA
Earthquake: -1 EN, single target
XS (Blue): teaches XS

Matrix: Whenever the user uses an Electric, Normal, Psychic or Steel attacking move, he gains a matrix charge. For every matrix charge, the power of the user's special attacks raise by (3) and their accuracy by 5%. Stacks up to 3 charges. If the user doesn't use an Electric, Normal, Psychic or Steel attacking move for an action, all matrix charges are lost

Cap: Raises the power of Water-type and Fighting-type moves by (7), and reduces the energy cost of Recover by (3) when used on the holder by itself

Necklace: Raises the periodic heal of Aqua Ring by 2, and the HP restored by Heal Pulse and Recover by 6. Raises the power of Water-type moves by (6).

Gygax: Raises the Attack rank of the holder by (7) and its critical hit stage by (1).

Round 1

The team wastes no time and immediately begins barraging the Aerodactyl with a series of attacks. Might leads the charge, zooming around and smashing directly into the prehistoric bird. Just a little bit more patient, Cagnazzo smashes his shell like a Greek smashing plates and somehow gets dramatically improved offensive capabilities. Don't ask. Much more patient than the others, Processor and Lag use their psychic abilities to mess around with the arena, increasing the gravitational field while inverting natural speeds. Again, don't ask. The Aerodactyl does not hold back, either; it glows very brightly before divebombing Might for a rather impressive amount of damage.

Now comfortably faster than the Aerodactyl, the team continues to attack away. Fuma Shuriken and Lag take the opportunity to wiggle their stubby digits around, erecting prismatic barriers around the entire team, protecting them from harm. Subject to an onslaught of Steel- and Water-type attacks, the Aerodactyl sprays a jet of flame all over Slam before opening its mouth and releasing supersonic waves, slicing through and confusing three of your Pokemon!

Okay Arcanite, have Starmie Mimic then Scald but push back actions if it hits itself. I do want more scalds to get that burn but its better we get Heal Pulse mimiced as soon as possible. Other than that just attack and remember your defeaning screech subs for everybody. We should have a better idea of whether we need to do anything different next round but for now just get as much damage as we can.

yeah this took a lot longer than i expected
Round 2

The entire raid team continues to attack the Aerodactyl, dealing a rather ridiculous amount of damage; it seems as if the Aerodactyl is simply not strong enough to withstand the might of four artifacts. Perhaps a different raid boss would be more fitting *cough cough*... Regardless, it still puts up a fight, screeching very loudly and preventing half the team from using their more powerful arsenal of attacks. Meanwhile, Fuma Shuriken hits itself in confusion. The Aerodactyl lets out a hacking noise, as if laughing at the futility of this situation. i am no longer making sense to myself

The loud and incessant screeching does nothing to stop the assault, however, as the attacks continue. Fuma Shuriken manages to avoid confusion this time and learns how to fire off beautiful jets of healing, but Might and Slam aren't quite so lucky; they hit themselves in confusion, and Slam even suffers the effect of his own powerful item. The Aerodactyl adds insult to injury and blasts Slam with a powerful jet of fire, piercing through the golden protective shield; it does snap him out of confusion, though.

Round 3

As Might and Fuma Shuriken smack themselves in confusion once more, Sir Auron sends off a white beam of healing at Azumarill, restoring a significant amount of its health. Meanwhile, the rest of the team batters the Aerodactyl with a barrage of Steel- and Water-type attacks. However, the Aerodactyl flies to the roof of the cavern before diving back down and smashing three members of the raid party with its massive leathery wings, knocking them aside!

Fuma Shuriken takes over the healing duties and heals up Steelix for a large amount, and the rest of the squad continues to attack the Aerodactyl, doing a tremendous number to the poor giant dinosaur bird thing. The Aerodactyl is not happy to take damage without retaliation, though; just like last time, it lets loose an earsplitting screech, and makes matters worse by conjuring razor-sharp wind shears once more!

Round 4

With a large portion of the team crippled by the eerie effects of the Aerodactyl's piercing shrieks, the team follows the orders of seasoned raider deadfox and just goes for the Aerodactyl with ridiculously powerful moves. Though Carracosta manages to hit itself twice in confusion instead, the squad still manages to put out an impressive amount of damage. The Aerodactyl strikes back hard, but its attacks do comparatively little.

Round 5

The team continues to rip through the Aerodactyl, doing a rather ridiculous amount of damage. What are these guys doing in a run-down place like this, anyways? There are better places for trainers of your caliber to be at -_-

Despite the Aerodactyl throwing out all of its signature attacks in two actions yet again – he buffets half the team and knocks them back, screeches another half, and hurls sharp, confusing wind shears at some combination of those two halves forming a third half of the team – it just can't do enough damage to outmatch the raid squad. It does appear that Might will be going down, though.

Glyph of Ancientpower:
Raises the secondary effect chance of Ancientpower to 30%
Glyph of Roost: Causes Roost to retain the Fighting, Grass and Bug resistances while Roosting, and also gives a Ground resistance replacing the lost Ground immunity. Does not apply to Pokémon that are not Flying-type. Reduces the energy cost of Roost by 2 and raises its priority to +1 (unaffected by Prankster).
Primal Amber: Increases the BP of Flying-type attacks by four, reduces the EC of recoil attacks by one, and increases Roost's healing by 4 HP.

EDIT by Zarator: fixed the artifact's name. Press on, heroes!

EDIT2: Double checked, Engineer was right after all :-P

As the prehistoric bird finally falls to the soil, a particularly intense quake courses through the ground, making you almost lose equilibrium. Then, a part of the walls collapse, showing a passage behind! You start walking through it - it's very narrow, compared to the one which you got through from the surface. However it does not last for long. After some minutes, you reach another open vault. What initially catches your attention is a tiny river, flowing roughly in the middle of the cavern. You can't see where does the water end, as it falls in a dark and deep pit. But, looking towards the sense opposed to the stream, you note a relatively little waterfall. You get close to study it more in detail, then you note there is a cavern behind.

While squeezing the wet clothes, you give a look around. Much to your surprise, this short tunnel ends with stairs. You wonder who could have shaped stairs in the depths of the earth, but nevertheless you go on. The stairs bring you to what seems to be a sort of ancient temple, shaped into basaltic rock. Majestic columns connect the structure with the ceiling, while some ruins are scattered around. You get close to one of these. It is almost completely black, even under the light of the torches. Strange symbols cover its surface, but you ignore what they may mean. Near them, you notice an odd bas-relief. Human-like figures surround a strange creature, as if they were venerating it like a divinity. You try to look around for more of these artifacts, but you're suddendly interrupted by a mighty roar. You immediately turns towards the entrance of the temple. Periodic quakes shake the soil, as if they were heavy steps... and they are, indeed! Out of the darkness comes a terrifying beast, looking at you with an angered gaze.

"Okay team, lets try and do this one just as easy."

Metagross: Gravity > Meteor Mash
Slowbro: Light Screen [GLYPH] > Scald
Steelix: Enable Sheer Force Iron Tail > Iron Head
Azumarill: Helping Hand (Steelix) > Aqua Tail

Lucario: Mega Evolve Metal Claw > Helping Hand (Steelix)
Starmie: Reflect [GLYPH] > Scald
Carracosta: Aqua Tail > Hydro Pump
Doublade: Iron Head [GEM] > Sacred Sword
Okay so Azumarill tanking the first hit should keep us clear of Earthquake and Dig and all those nasty things then a couple of Helping Hands should have Steelix getting a nice treat lead so we can unload with fighting attacks from next round. Gravity will make sure all our attacks hit and screens are worthwhile even though Shatter will break them later. I say start with this then get a more concrete plan next round.

'Now the real challenge begins.'

Sir Auron the Lucario: [Mega Evolve] Metal Claw > Helping Hand (Steelix)
Fuma Shuriken the Starmie: Reflect [GLYPH] > Scald
Cagnazzo the Carracosta: Aqua Tail > Hydro Pump
Excalibur & Excalipoor the Doublade: Iron Head [GEM] > Sacred Sword

Round 1

The team immediately begins erecting protective barriers and similar battle preparations, making sure it can deal with whatever this fearsome Tyranitar puts out, such as a fiery chomping bite that actually deals quite a bit of damage to Sir Auron. Like the Aerodactyl, though, its damage output seems just slightly lacking in comparison to the raid squad; in particular, Slam's damage is absolutely through the roof, as if it somehow chea–got some assistance with the attack, of course. However, the Tyranitar continues to rampage about and stomping its feet angrily and waving its stubby arms around, showing no signs of defeat. This might take longer than the last encounter.

Hey Engi you're still adding Pressure to the energy calcs. Which Ttar does not have..

"Okay guys, set up is complete. Now smash."

Metagross: Flash Cannon > Meteor Mash
Slowbro: Scald > Water Pulse
Slam: Iron Tail > Iron Head
Azumarill: Brick Break > Aqua Tail

Okay just hit as very hard as you can. Lucario should be right to use Fighting STAB too but feel free to do threat calcs if you want.
