Other Silly Things You've Seen On The OU Ladder: V2

So today... (This is ubers obviously, I had the deoxys-attack)
Turn 1

Whimsicott used Swagger!
The opposing Deoxys-Attack's Attack sharply rose!
The opposing Deoxys-Attack became confused!
The opposing Deoxys-Attack is confused!

The opposing Deoxys-Attack used Taunt!
Whimsicott fell for the taunt!
Turn 2

The opposing Deoxys-Attack is confused!

The opposing Deoxys-Attack used Psycho Boost!
Whimsicott lost 100% of its health!
The opposing Deoxys-Attack's Special Attack harshly fell!

Whimsicott fainted!

Go! Klefki!
Turn 3

Klefki used Thunder Wave!
The opposing Deoxys-Attack is paralyzed! It may be unable to move!
The opposing Deoxys-Attack is confused!
It hurt itself in its confusion!

The opposing Deoxys-Attack fainted!

If you're ever thinking about deoxys-attack's "bulk," just keep this in mind.
Yeah, I had that happen to me back in a BW2 Ubers game. Since then, whenever I use Deoxys-A, I nickname it "Confusion Suicide."

* It seems to be nervous about fighting.

Anyway I just had a match where the opponent was winning because I made awful plays, but they forfeited because I had Mew. I assume that was the reason because the only thing they said in the match was 'mew? e_e' right before they forfeited. So weird.

Swampert spammed Superpower despite the huge attack drop, didn't bother trying to switch out. Was probably wondering why my Pokemon wasn't dying.
A Sylveon with Psyshock and Double Edge.
Also an Altaria with Aerial Ace and Dragon Pulse.
Also is Aerial Ace Bisharp a thing? It certainly surprised my Venusaur.

Also a game of 0 [derogatory word]. As some disclaimer, we battled a couple of battles earlier and somehow met each other again. Their Snorlax had chip off, so the crit I got was extremely lucky.

Sadly not. I did get one win though, but the other guy forfeited after turn one so I didn't bother with a replay.
EDIT: and ferrothorn is speedy in slowmons, btw
ANOTHER EDIT: was the deoxys-attack full hp?
Yeah the Deoxys-attack was at full HP. It was also sashed, so I learned two things today. +2 Deoxys-A OHKOs itself from confusion, and confusion damage doesnt trigger sashes.

I made a new troll team and was messing with it on the lower Uber tier (since it involves Blaziken) when I came across this gem-

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ubers-133685000

A very short battle, but kinda hilarious. His Genesect even failed to ohko my Scizor, though I'm not sure if it was a physically offensive variant or something.

His reaction at the end was absolutely priceless though. I have a Blaziken w/ Blaze Kick|Low Kick, against a Xerneas under rain. A seemingly hopeless situation, except that I had BPed +4 Atk to my Blaziken beforehand. Then ...

Blaziken has Mega Evolved into Mega Blaziken!

420 blaze it fegit used Low Kick!
It's not very effective... The opposing Xerneas lost 87.5% of its health!

The opposing Xerneas fainted!

Feraligator123: ur such a twat
Feraligator123 forfeited.

420BLAZEITfegit won the battle!

20th Round of silly replays: J-pop Mania Edition

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-133677673
Team A:
  • Calm Mind + BoltBeam Mega Absol. Yeah, certainly more efficient than boosting its higher physical attack by two stages with Swords Dance.
  • Audino (not sent out).
  • Probopass (not sent out).
Team B:
  • Deoxys-D using Thunder Wave on the aforementioned Mega Absol after its Stealth Rock has been sent back by Magic Bounce. Oh and it also had Drain Punch.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-133679265
Team A:
  • Power-Up Punch non-Mega Medicham.
  • Curse + Giga Drain Ferrothorn. Looks like someone's good for Battling 101.
  • Ninjask (not sent out).
Team B: Baton Pass team.
  • Wanna say non-Mega Aerodactyl, but apparently only two-thirds of Aerodactyl in OU 1695 had the Mega Stone in May.
  • Regigigas, the final recipient, stalled out by the aforementioned Ferrothorn.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-133682152
Team A:
  • Non-Mega Gardevoir. At least it had Moonblast.
  • Specs (?) Chandelure using Flamethrower on a Flash Fire (thanks to Trace) Gardevoir.
Team B:
  • Scolipede using Iron Defense to wall a Flamethrower. It didn't work.
  • Iron Defense non-Mega Mawile.
  • Lilligant, who doesn't know that Sleep Clause exists. Also, Lilligant in OU.
  • Calm Mind + Stored Power non-Mega Gardevoir.
  • Eviolite BRAIXEN.

In the 1300's just now: a ninja-themed team involving a Rock Smash Mega Scizor. It caught me off guard since it OHKO'd Bisharp...could it be viable because of Technician boost? It only goes from 40 to 60 power, but I suppose the defense drop is tempting.

Random Shit: Jazz Edition
-Non-mega Ampharos using Focus Blast on Gliscor.
-Steel Wing Dragonite. Because Iron Head is too mainstream for hitting fairies.
-Needlessly sacrificing Gardevoir and Infernape to a 2% HP SS Cloyster with E-speed Dragonite in reserve.
-Count the issues here: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-133406228
-Hidden Power Dark, Ghost, or Bug Keldeo. I'm assuming Ghost, because it has the best coverage. But knowing the lower ladder, who knows?
-Aerial Ace Ferrothorn.
-Excadrill KOing a Donphan with Rapid Spin. So much irony in that one. (Granted, Donphan was at 5% HP, but still.)
-Rotom-W repeatedly using Will-o-Wisp on Conkeldurr.
-A Slowking nicknamed "Fastking". Perhaps foreshadowing the fact that it got Tricked a Choice Scarf.
-Offensive SubNP Liepard. Also, Liepard in OU.
-Electrode repeatedly using Electro Ball. On Gliscor. Also, Electrode in OU.
-Dark Pulse+Explosion Gengar.
-Headbutt Jirachi.
-Explosion Metagross.
-Yet another setup mon (this time, SD Aegislash) setting up on Quagsire.
-Smeargle setting up QD on Gyro Ball Ferrothorn. It did manage to BP to Sylveon. Well, I think you can figure out what happened next.
-Donphan somehow (and without a scarf) managing to outspeed a pre-mega Pinsir and OHKO with Stone Edge.
-A lot of things that don't belong in OU: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-133407115
-Alakazam using Psychic on a +2 (thanks to GeoPass) Victini.
-Tyranitar using Counter on said Victini.
-Dual Chop Smeargle without a sash.
-Normal Rotom. Which burned a Reuniclus.
-Weakness Policy... Cradily. Turns out it's actually decent if used properly.
-SD+U-turn M-Scizor.
-Bonsly. I shit you not. And it beat a M-Pinsir, mainly due to landing a Rock Slide on the switch-in.
-Ambipom. Using Fake Out on Trevenant.
-Rapidash.
-We've given people grief for using Electivire and Magmortar in OU. One guy went full double-bird to tiers and used both.
-Physical Empoleon.
-Stone Edge M-Heracross. Rock Blast, anyone?
-Ninjask setting up... AND THEN MANUALLY SWITCHING OUT.
-Enigma Berry Aegislash.
-Magikarp.
-Smeargle forgetting about Sleep Clause.
-Rotom-W trying to Will-o-Wisp a sleeping Bisharp.
-Showderp actually using an OU-competent team, for once (well, except for a possible McIceGar, but that's Showderp for you). And winning against the team that had the previous five things.
-HP Electric, Grass, or Poison Espeon (it was SE on Azumarill, that's all I know).
-Greninja using Scald on a Tyranitar it had frozen on the previous turn. (For the record, Scald defrosts frozen things now.)
-Oh, did that Conkeldurr use Ice Punch on Thundurus? Better switch in Garchomp.
-Claydol in OU.
-Magcargo.
-Carracosta in OU.
-Gliscor using Toxic on Aegislash. The usage of Toxic on a Steel mon seems to be a daily feature in RS.
-Later in the same battle, the same Gliscor used Toxic on Heatran.
-Body Slam Mamoswine.
That had me cracking up for almost an hour :) But I've seen one thing that's hilarious: AV SABLEYE (found out when I used Knock Off on it...maybe he was trying to trick it on something, but it disables trick, eh)

In Ubers:

Darkrai with Hypnosis. Because Dark Void is too mainstream. Hypnosis doesn't even bypass subs.
Ninjask in Ubers. With Endure rather than Protect. Forfeited after I used Dragon Tail on the Enduring sashed Ninjask.
An Arceus using Swords Dance on 16% HP, letting it get KO'd by Kangaskhan's Power-up-Punch
An Eeveelution+Ditto team. Forfeited after the second Baton Passer in the chain got Dragon Tailed.

Trolled the Ubers tier with my little baby, Shuckle:

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ubers-133732839 (EdgeQuake + Outrage Arceus, Thunder Punch Zekrom, Fire Fang + Outrage Reshiram)
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ubers-133734782 (Flamethrower + Brick Break + Body Slam + Aerial Ace Mega Blaziken, non-Mega Lucario)
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ubers-133735543 (forfeited immediately after seeing my Shuckle; his team includes the entire Regi family, Mewtwo and Gliscor)

Nihihi♪ (Shuckle) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Calm Nature
- Shell Smash
- Infestation
- Toxic
- Rest

I don't have the replay, but I just faced a guy who was running a troll team; Swords Dance Ferrothorn, Fire Punch M-Gardevoir (i think its attack is 65), Surf+Ice Beam+Thunderbolt Gyarados (sp. atk 60) and a physical Keldeo (attack 70ish) with aqua tail.

Wait a minute, Ferrothorns learns Aerial Ace? The descripion of that move 'The user confound the opposing Pokemon with speed'
SINCE WHEN IS FEROTHORN SPEEDY
choice scarf ferrothorn
gotta go fast.

another post. god i love the low ladders

dragalge in OU. even when it gets adaptability, please
choice specs dragonite.
ditto on a web team. and i mean a suicide web team. with scarf ditto.
choice band venusaur on sun team. wheeeeeeeee
eviolite yanma.
yanma in OU
i found a eviolite on a terrakion once. i don't even know
specs umbreon. still bulky btw
tangrowth in OU. just use evio tanglea. or dont use it.
scarf switcheroo froslass
skuntank. with knock off.
sunny day cherrim. it used weather ball too.
a non SD red card unburden hawlucha
lopunny
guy said he wanted a bulky magic bouncer so he brought xatu. bulky and xatu don't belong in the same sentence.
focus sash + sturdy (repetitively)

Commenting in bold again.
dragalge in OU. even when it gets adaptability, please Not an awful mon, but still kinda outclassed
choice specs dragonite. Fantastic special movepool, but not a good enough special attack stat to warrant specs
ditto on a web team. and i mean a suicide web team. with scarf ditto. Gotta go fast?
choice band venusaur on sun team. wheeeeeeeee Let's see: Petal Blizzard, EQ, lol Outrage, and... um... idk
eviolite yanma. Well, if you're going to use an NFE...
yanma in OU Maybe he thought it was GSC or something
i found a eviolite on a terrakion once. i don't even know Marginally worse than Eviolite Slowbro
specs umbreon. still bulky btw See Dragonite, except worse
tangrowth in OU. just use evio tanglea. or dont use it. Neither one is that great in OU, tbh and quit hating on my avatarmon
scarf switcheroo froslass Actually isn't horrible considering how fast Froslass is, but she has better things to do
skuntank. with knock off. Knock Off is a good move on Skuntank, but Skuntank is a mediocre mon for OU (edit: Skuntank can't learn Knock Off)
sunny day cherrim. it used weather ball too. Well, if you're going to use Cherrim, you might as well do it right, and why does Flower Gift suck so bad?
a non SD red card unburden hawlucha IMO Unburden is overrated, especially considering how fast Hawlucha is already
lopunny It has a niche for Switcheroo+AV at least
guy said he wanted a bulky magic bouncer so he brought xatu. bulky and xatu don't belong in the same sentence. There are no bulky Magic Bounce users. Deal with it.
focus sash + sturdy (repetitively) Because Mold Breaker
Also, probably no RS today because reasons. Sorry.

Wouldn't the Gliscor be able to stall out Shuckle because of Poison Heal? Loses 12% HP each turn and gains 12%.

And there's this one. Seems perfectly normal... until turn 25. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-133783215

So I tried to troll the Ubers ladder with a numel...

This is my second battle: http://pokemonshowdown.com/replay/ubers-133792406

Highlights:
Xerneas using thunderwave (twice!) and HP electric
Yveltal using dragon rush
Hydreigon using body slam and charge beam (twice)
MAmpharos using charge beam (Type match-ups? What type match-ups?) and electro ball (Because MAmpharos is known for its speed)
Normal-Kyurem in Ubers
Non-Mega Charizard using body slam

xJownage

Even pendulums swing both ways
Nub Skuntank doesn't even learn Knock Off.
i dont have the replay damnit. i swear i saw skuntank use knock off and wrote it down. i really don't know. probably insane lag or something where it didnt do a proper check. it was in watching a battle, not one i was doing, and i saw no item come off so....i have no idea.

- Find all the errors in this :

The opposing Talonflame used Hidden Power!
A critical hit! Blissey lost 3.1% of its health!

... I can't believe that Talonflame didn't have any better move (and it was in 1v1, so Blissey wasn't going to switch)

Serene Grace Abuse vs Physical sweepers using special moves (featuring Dunsparce and SuckerPunch/Knock Off/Dark Pulse Bisharp)
Electivire using Mega Kick and Cross Chop against Togekiss (and it did have Volt Switch...)
Calm Mind Gallade

- Dragon Dance Shelgon, setting up against Gliscor after being Toxic'd

Amazing BP team (Drifblim ftw), SolarBeam Char-X, Scolipede staying on an obvious Fire Blast...

Last but definitely not least :

Quite a few things that don't belong to OU... A mono Grass team almost swept by Curse Muk, Wigglytuff, Avalanche Blastoise...
