XY UU First RMT Hydreigon the Unstoppable

Hey all, This is my first time posting a rate my team. After a few weeks of playing on showdown I decided it was time to get serious. I originally designed the team around a Special sweeping Starmie but quickly realized that it just wasnt the best at what i was asking of it. So i started messing around with the team and decided Hydreigon fit the bill. So lets get started.

Jirachi @ Choice Band
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Iron Head
- Zen Headbutt
- Drain Punch

Jirachi originally replaced my flygon. I chose to use a choice band Jirachi because i was looking for a hard hitting physical attacker that could run U turn to keep the momentum on my side of the field. As well he covers the Fairy type that would absolutely destroy Hydreigon. On top of that the Serene Grace ability paired with the Jolly Nature can allow you to just straight Flinch a bulky pokemon to death with Iron head. In the last spot i put Drain Punch to give it a little bit of sustain or recovery. However im not sure if there would be something better then that to help cover a bit more. Perhaps fire punch, ice punch?

Hydreigon @ Expert Belt
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
- Superpower
- Fire Blast

This is the star of the show. Every other pokemon on this team is designed to get this bad boy to the point where he can come in and clean up the field. Draco Meteor and Dark Pulse give some great Stab moves as my special sweeper. Fire blast gives him a bit more coverage and a very strong attack in general, Perhaps change with Flame thrower cause of accuracy? And finally Superpower so i dont get walled out by a special wall like Blissey. I gave it an expertbelt so that i can hit harder but not lose the life that life orb would take from it.

Toxicroak @ Assault Vest
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Gunk Shot
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch

This guy is one of my personal favorites. He is a bulky physical sweeper that has great stab attacks in Drain Punch and Gunk Shot. He gets priority from Sucker punch and then Knock off can be used to cripple there walls or sweepers by knocking off there item. The assault vest is used to give him his bulk so that special sweepers just tickle him. Then the ability dry skin makes him my water counter. This set makes him a great counter to pokemon like Mega-Blastoise and rest talk Suiccune.

Slowbro @ Eviolite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Slack Off
- Psyshock
- Calm Mind

This is the teams defensive wall and also a bulky sweeper if given the opportunity. He can set up on some physical sweepers with calm mind. Spread some burns using scald. And then break through the special walls that will switch in to him with psyshock. The ability regenerator makes him a real big hassel to deal with since when he is nearly dead i can just switch him out and he will be ready to go again.

Shuckle @ Leftovers
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Sticky Web
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Encore

This guy is really the mvp of this team. He has his hazards which are essential for the success on my team. Sticky web will slow the opponent to ensure that Hydreigon can out speed and deal the killing blow. Toxic can help weaken the opponent that they send in to kill this guy. And Encore can be used to lock a pokemon into an unfavorable move to get an easy and free switch in. I understand that he has not real damaging move but lets be honest he wasnt gonna be dealing that much damage. His job is to come in, set up the entry hazards, toxic, and get someone else in.

Rotom-Heat @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Overheat
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Thunderbolt

This guy and Jirachi are like the wonder twins. The combo of volt switch and U-turn allow me to really keep the momentum on my side with the constant switches that i can keep up. The Choice scarf will ensure that i am able to out speed everything except for pretty much other scarfers. His moveset is self explanetory. However perhaps trick would be better then thunderbolt? And possibly a better Hidden Power type to use on him?

That is my team, I feel like they cover the weaknesses of each other pretty well and especially the weaknesses of Hydreigon. Any suggestions or ideas that you have would be much appreciated. Also since this is my first post i didnt know how to do those cool sprites to make it look cooler so youll have to bear with me. Hope i followed all the rules and cant wait to hear the responses!

Heracross puts in mad work to your team. I'd be careful about losing rotom-heat when it's still around. Banded celebi is cool and catches a lot of people off guard but honestly that 4th move is really personal preference, can't go wrong with either of those. I know you like E-belt but life orb is worth the damage, especially if its not going to be taking hits. I'd also change calm mind on Slowbro to Toxic, unless calm mind has really been working for you. Fun looking team though :]

Slowbro doesnt evolve meaning eviolite is useless on it except increased knock off damage (which you don't want). Lefties are the way to go.

I'm going to second that you use life orb rather than expert belt on hydreigon since the extra damage output can get you KOs in tight situations and be helpful against Pokemon against whom you do not get super effective damage. Although this isn't exactly a realistic scenario, expert belt hydreigon only has 37.5% chance to ohko victini before rocks. You also don't want to be running a -Atk nature on a Hydreigon that's using Superpower. I'd say go for a Naive nature since Dragon gives a lot of resistances to primarily special attacking types (fire water grass electric) but hasty is an option too.

Since Hydreigon is being used as a late game sweeper I can sort of see why you are using Draco Meteor but you might want to try using Dragon Pulse to avoid the special attack drops.

Jirachi might want to run Body Slam over Drain Punch to give paralysis support to Hydreigon's sweep as well as annoy your opponent with paraflinch but that's just a thought.

Rotom-Heat would be better off trading HP ice for trick, since HP ice kos very little that overheat doesn't. (Flygon maybe but that's a very niche pokemon). Trick on the other hand allows you to cripple crocune and stall in general.

Assault Vest Toxicroak seems a bit weird to me but not going to argue.

Your team has no spinner or defogger so any entry hazards that come up stay up. Also your team is very specially weak. Ironically enough, life orb Hydreigon does a lot of damage to your team (81% chance to ohko Jirachi with dark pulse (100% after rocks), 100% chance to ohko Hydreigon with dragon pulse if speed tie is won, 3.1% to 2hko shuckle with dragon pulse after rocks (not great but shuckle can't do much in return and guaranteed 3hko), 100% to ohko slowbro with dark pulse, 50% to ohko rotom-H after rocks with dragon pulse and a guaranteed 2hko on toxicroak after rocks with fire blast (though toxicroak can do a lot in return)). Nidoking also does a lot of work after scarf jirachi is dead

Your Volt-Turn core of rachi and rotom-h is solid enough on paper but strong dark/ghost can kill rachi fast while rocks already do a lot of work to rotom-h. Otherwise your team seems a bit haphazard. Alomomola can replace slowbro and serve as a regenerator and wish passer in case you want to keep a regenerator. Umbreon can also wish pass, block status and serve as a special wall, so I'd suggest using that instead of slowbro. Of course that does have the disadvantage of two fighting weaknesses on a team.

I replaced Slowbro with a Tentacruel with Toxic Spikes and rapid spin. I am looking for something to replace Toxicroak now simply for coverages. Though i would suggest trying out assault vest Toxicroak in the future.
