Achieved 1500: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/uu-166539504

One of the popular offensive cores back in DPP UU was Toxicroak + Houndoom, seeing as they could set up on one another's counters. I decided to test whether the same offensive core could work in this gen, with Toxicroak being able to set up on Water Pokemon that Mega Houndoom attracts, and with Mega Houndoom being able to get a free boost from Fire attacks before mega evolving. It has worked decently well so far. Toxicroak especially has proven to be effective against stall and offense alike. And with Suicune rising in usage and Toxicroak being one of the better stops to it, I can see it gradually becoming more popular.

Houndoom unfortunately has not seen much usage at all, even with its amazing special attack, high speed and decent bulk. It is probably mostly due to the fact that using Houndoom takes up the one Mega slot on your team, and it itself is one of the more inferior Megas in the tier. It's performed decently well, although not to the extent I would've liked. It is still effectively checked by a number of Pokemon, and I find it quite lacking in raw power sometimes. It's still freakishly scary with a Nasty Plot boost though, and with a Flash Fire boost it simply wrecks shit.

Whimsicott is the Pokemon who I've had the most fun with though. It is just so unexpectedly powerful with a Specs attached to it. I've spoken about it in some detail here. Starmie and Jirachi provide valuable spin + rocks support. Starmie has proved to be a great spinner, and it has much better staying power than Mega Blastoise with Recover and Leftovers. Its typing and bulk makes it an excellent check to a myriad of threats like Entei, Infernape, Lucario, Mienshao, Nidoking, pretty much any Ground, Fire or Fighting type. Jirachi provides me with important resistances to Fairy and Flying, checking stuff like Florges, Crobat and Aero who can do a number to the team without it.

Flygon is the revenge killer. It hits an excellent speed tier, beating Scarf Hydreigon by a point, and Outrage and Earthquake are excellent clean up moves. With Togekiss leaving it has suddenly become a lot more viable, and I can afford to not run Stone Edge as the fourth move. I've instead opted for Dragon Claw which still deals decent damage without having to lock into Outrage.

Well, I made 1500 a while ago, but now I'm like 1380 because **I SUCK**. Anyways, I'll talk about my mah DHs and do some evaluation.

Froslass: A lot of people already know how cool it is, so I won't go into too much detail. It's an awesome spike setter, and with D-Bond it can take out a multitude of threats. Really, It's just a great lead. 4/5

Porygon-Z: Double Dance P-Z is a massive threat after it sets up either of the buffs. With Nasty Plot it can wallbreak like a boss (Almost an OHKO on Florges) and with Agility it can sweep many teams with Adaptability Tri Attacks. Really just a generally cool guy. 3.5/5

Sharpedo: You thought Agility P-Z was a good cleaner? Well, take a look here. This guy is just great, and crushed so many teams it's just not funny. Waterfalls and Crunch handle most things, and all the other stuff is smoked by Ice Beam. Really, what else do you need? 4/5

Rotom-C: My counter to Suicune, and my other Special Wallbreaker. It tricked things specs, got momentum with Volt Switch, and did some serious damage. You might think I'm being too kind to my DHs, but really they were all great. 4/5

Oh yeah, I changed my team around a lot. But this is the team that got me to 1500, so this is what I'll write about. Anyways, good luck to anyone else still in this challenge, and I'll see you next week!

I also got 1600 with my main. Honestly, this might be the best team that I've built since Beta...

To expand on this a bit I have some replays.
The team seems to be able to function in a bunch of different ways, depending on what is needed at the time. It combines extreme wallbreaking potential, solid defensive merit, and a solid u-turn core. At the heart of the team it's based around snagging momentum in the early game and softening up the opposing team with hazards and chip damage from u-turns and knock offs. Late in the game, a surprise tailwind from Whimsicott basically nets Exploud 3 free KO's. This element has won me tons of matches that otherwise would've been hopeless.

In this match vs. FateoftheMonado, we see how the team can function as a simple U-turn team; excelling at wearing down the opponent for a late game cleanup by Haxorus.
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/uu-168176024

The next match features King UU and it really shows the power of Knock Off to allow Exploud to break through a tough wall in Porygon 2. Normally Porygon can be an issue but a turn 1 Knock Off from Uxie allows Exploud to power through King's team. A timely crit ensures Krookodile doesn't do too much damage to my team. Eventually I maneuver myself into a potential win with Exploud provided King doesn't crit ESpeed or get complete maximum damage.

Lol anybody else excited for Noivern, PZ and Scrafty as DH???

I have a preliminary team already consisting entirely of DH. Theres a lot of options this month.

CoolStoryBrobat Victini only had 12% usage in september since it was banned temporarily. Will we be imposing an extra percentage to compensate for the 2 or so werks Victini was out of commission?

As stated, UU Usage Stats for September are now out! Since Victini was banned for a bit and then brought back, a 6% usage penalty will be added on Victini if you choose to run it on your teams. Meaning:

| 11 | Victini | 12.01298% | 49268 | 6.933% | 40408 | 6.989% |

Victini would now count as 18.01298% if you add it to your team. OP will be updated, good luck to all participants!

Shaymin - 5.5784%

I assume we don't have to post sets or anything. This looks fun n_n

Alt: a dh team n_n

EDIT: So this will be a spike-stacking team that will rely on Accelgor and Cobalion to get up quick hazards to support an offensive core. Accelgor has some amazing qualities found in a poke with Spikes, namely blazing speed, Encore to deter defog, and Final Gambit to stop spinners. Cobalion felt like a natural addition, having a fast Taunt, good defensive typing, and Volt Switch for momentum. Noivern has been a poke I've been playing around with and it is a god-like anti-offensive and defensive mon, with even more Taunt, speed, and power to the team. CB Entei is another mon I love, having good offensive synergy with Noivern and having a very powerful Sacred Fire + E-Speed. CB Krook adds both power and bulk to the team, thanks to Intimidate. It also has Knock Off, which is too good to not have on a team. Rotom I may consider replacing, as it doesn't seem that good now that I consideer it, but I def need a mon to threaten M-Blastoise (eyy how about Shaymin .-.)

Edit 2: Yeah, Shaymin > Rotom Heat

I don't know how much time I'll have to ladder, but I'll give it a shot.

ALT: dhalgren two

Cresselia 1.71%
Mega-Abomasnow 1.35%
Dusclops 0.42%
Exploud 1.01%
Diancie 3.07%

Honchkrow 7.27%

=14.83

I really strongly considered going for all dark horses, but Honchkrow was such a good fit for the team. Oh well... I've played a few games at the bottom of the ladder with the team so far, and I kind of love it. Of course, the bottom of the ladder doesn't mean much, so we'll have to see if I still love it as much when the team is actually being challenged.

You are looking at the wrong usage statistics. Nidoqueen has 8% and Jirachi has 17% usage which puts you over 35%

Crobat-14.922
Scrafty-3.851
Cobalion-2.779
Aromatisse-1.242
Gastrodon-1.479 Reuniclus 1.251%
Whimsicott- 2.835

Total: less than 27.108%

Im definitely around 30%, but will update this with actual numbers. I was going to go for a pure DH team with Noivern instead of crobat, but playtesting revealed that i had a fairy weakness so now the trusty crobat is my glue.

Its like a compilation of every team, ive been using lately. Ive been absolutely hooked on Whimsicott and am interested in seeing how everybody else does as well.

EDIT: Gastro just isn't cutting it, unfortunately. Burn and Toxic completely screws him over. So, now I'm trying a different route in Reuniclus. Still puts me below 27%.
