Shellder @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Skill Link
Level: 5
EVs: 36 HP / 236 Atk / 36 Def / 196 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Icicle Spear
- Rock Blast
- Razor Shell
- Ice Shard

Choice Scarf Shellder survives any one of Drilbur's attacks when it switches in and then outspeeds and OHKOs it with Icicle Spear. Better yet, if Drilbur goes for Swords Dance on the turn you switch into Shellder, you get a free switch and you OHKO it without taking any damage. It's as simple as that.

236 Atk Mold Breaker Drilbur Earthquake vs. 36 HP / 36 Def Shellder: 12-15 (60 - 75%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

236 Atk Mold Breaker Drilbur Rock Slide vs. 36 HP / 36 Def Shellder: 6-8 (30 - 40%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock

236 Atk Mold Breaker Drilbur Poison Jab vs. 36 HP / 36 Def Shellder: 6-8 (30 - 40%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock

236 Atk Shellder Icicle Spear (5 hits) vs. 0 HP / 60 Def Eviolite Drilbur: 30-40 (136.3 - 181.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Bergmite @ Eviolite
Ability: Sturdy
Level: 5
EVs: 236 HP / 36 Atk / 236 Def
Impish Nature
- Avalanche
- Recover
- Rapid Spin
- Mirror Coat

Bergmite has an incredible bulk that allow it to counter Drilbur without any problem!

236 Atk Mold Breaker Drilbur Rock Slide vs. 236 HP / 236+ Def Eviolite Bergmite: 8-10 (32 - 40%) -- 17.6% chance to 3HKO

+2 236 Atk Mold Breaker Drilbur Rock Slide vs. 236 HP / 236+ Def Eviolite Bergmite: 14-18 (56 - 72%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

36 Atk Bergmite Avalanche vs. 0 HP / 60 Def Eviolite Drilbur: 20-26 (90.9 - 118.1%) -- 75% chance to OHKO

Lileep (M) @ Eviolite
Ability: Suction Cups
Level: 5
EVs: 228 HP / 220 Def / 60 SpD
Bold Nature
- Giga Drain
- Ancient Power
- Toxic
- Recover

If lileep switches into earthquake, then it will always beat drilbur, as it is 3hko'd and giga drain deals damage to drilbur while also gaining health back
236 Atk Mold Breaker Drilbur Earthquake vs. 228 HP / 220+ Def Eviolite Lileep: 7-10 (26.9 - 38.4%) -- 100% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock
0 SpA Lileep Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Eviolite Drilbur: 14-18 (63.6 - 81.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

note: lileep can switch into drilbur as it uses sd and take a plus 2 eq, but only if rocks arent on the field.

EVs: 12 HP / 196 Atk / 212 Def / 36 SpD / 52 Spe
Careful Nature
- Horn Leech
- Shadow Claw

Rest + Natural Cures prevents Phantump from being worn down easily throughout the match. 21/21/21 bulk after Eviolite and a resistance to EQ makes switching in very easy for Phantump as well.

236 Atk Mold Breaker Drilbur Earthquake vs. 12 HP / 212 Def Eviolite Phantump: 4-6 (19 - 28.5%) -- 12.6% chance to 4HKO

236 Atk Mold Breaker Drilbur Rock Slide vs. 12 HP / 212 Def Eviolite Phantump: 5-7 (23.8 - 33.3%) -- 0% chance to 3HKO

236 Atk Mold Breaker Drilbur Rock Slide vs. 12 HP / 212 Def Eviolite Phantump: 5-7 (23.8 - 33.3%) -- 0% chance to 3HKO

Switch in on an SD:

(9, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 11)

+2 236 Atk Mold Breaker Drilbur Rock Slide vs. 12 HP / 212 Def Eviolite Phantump: 10-12 (47.6 - 57.1%) -- 80.9% chance to 2HKO
(10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 11, 11, 11, 11, 11, 11, 11, 11, 12)

+2 236 Atk Mold Breaker Drilbur Poison Jab vs. 12 HP / 212 Def Eviolite Phantump: 10-12 (47.6 - 57.1%) -- 80.9% chance to 2HKO

0 Atk Purrloin Foul Play vs. 36 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Drilbur: 13-16 (56.5 - 69.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

so yeah this can come in on EQ, take another and 2hko with foul play, the 2nd one having prio. if drilbur SDs on the switch its encore'd or forced out. obviously not the most reliable answer but this thing is p hard to counter outside of the grass/ghosts tbh

Nincada best counter.

Tahu's Pumpkaboo

Eren Yeager's Shellder

The TurtleLord's Lileep

Fiend Hound's Phantump

zeriloa's Purrloin

Before anyone asks why I didn't add Nincada and Bergmite it's because both of them are totally unviable in the meta, I understand that they're fun etc but this project is basically made to help new players find perfect counters for the biggest threats in the meta. (even though I know the community is wise and will vote for better and viable stuff)

Voting ends Monday 20th October at 7pm GMT.

Voting for Nincada regardless because it is a hard counter to a big threat, dunno how that makes it totally unviable
