SPOILERS! Mysteries and Conspiracies of Pokemon

Don't forget paint it up like a Camerupt/Sharpedo. 'Cause that was clearly super important.
Of course. Look at Team Rocket's Magikarp and Basculin subs. Submarines that resemble pokemon are a high priority for the discerning mafia, yakuza, or Eco-terroist group.

On a more serious note, the pant might sep to serve as a disguise since they would want to keep a stolen sub that likely made the news hidden so that they would not get busted while entering the cavern

After they announced over the speakers in the harbor that they were taking it? Yeah, don't think they were concerned about Officer Jenny or some-such busting their collective asses while cruising to the Seafloor Cavern... like the authorities are ever all that useful in the Pokemon world, it seems.

It is distressing how much the law system of Pokemon is messed up. Like Maxie/Archie should by all rights be arrested on the spot for larceny, habitat destruction, and child endangerment but Steven and Wallace just stand there and let them walk away. I guess you are okay in the poke-court-of-law as long as you are really sorry? Unless the Elite Four is corrupt (Malva got off scott-free after all).

Not to mention my "biggest in-game pet-peeve" of Malon (B2/W2) trying to tell you not to judge a book by it's cover, when that book just froze an entire city.

I wonder, do prisoners get to win their freedom through pokemon battles? Or, to quote Phineas and Ferb, "We live in a cute-based society. The worst legal punishment we know is a time-out."

I'm leaning towards the gladiator-style "win your freedom through organized cock-fighting" theory.

Think of it this way: If the authorities were competent, then Team Magma/Aqua would be jailed as soon as Grand Theft Submarine happened, if not earlier, then its just Collect the badges, head to the League, no chance beyond a more ludicrous contrivance to encounter Groudon/Kyorgre at all (except a post Delta Episode thing, maybe) after 5 whole genrations of being able to encounter/catch legionaries during the story that seems like a bit of a slap in the face in comparison.

"But maybe you don't need to catch Ubers every game" you might say. And to that I point out that its not a question of whether we truly have to but whether one of whether we want to; There are few people that don't want to catch a bigass orca, godlike dragon or Godzilla apart from challenge reasons, and even then people still want their precious shiny charm which is the reward for getting every pokemon in the national dex, the orca, dragon and godzilla included.

No more ludicrous than mysterious rings floating in mid-air that just happen to have legendary surprises inside... often more than one.

True, but "because we wouldn't have a game then" answers about every contradiction related question in this thread. And I can be unhappy with it and expect more out of my game. Competent police and good villains don't have to be mutually exclusive. Just means the villains have to try harder.

Plus it was jarring that they just get to walk away at the end without any reprisal at all. At least they tried to arrest Ghetsis. He just kept escaping with the Shadow Triad.

Well, in RBYFRLG, I don't think the authorities knew that Giovanni was the head of Team Rocket. In Platinum, Cyrus just stays in the Dimension World (he disappears in Diamond and Pearl). In X and Y, Lysandre's action presumably kill him (though we should wait for Z/X2 and Y2 to see if he returns). So they have excuses.

Any other small easter eggs you can find? Doesn't matter how little.
Maybe not an Easter Egg but something people may not have realized.

6. The 5 other trainers at the Battle Resort use the 5 remaining types that don't have someone who specializes in them:

Gym Leaders: Rock, Fighting, Electric, Fire, Normal, Flying, Psychic, & Water
Elite Four: Dark, Ghost, Ice, & Dragon
Champion: Steel
Battle Resort: Grass, Poison, Fairy, Ground, & Bug

My guess is that Team Aqua/Magma is just putting their plan in motion so fast the police can't respond in time and then need to spend more time investigating the crime scene while they're off initiating the next phase of their plan. The player is both "lucky" to be at the right place at the right time and isn't bogged down by police work that they can quickly respond to the villainous team, though of course they don't have any authority power to arrest them. So yeah, I think it might be that the police are just too slow.

As for Steven and Wallace letting them go, at the moment they appeared the Legendary Pokemon was preparing to end the world so they were a bit per-occupied. And even after the incident was over they were also concerned with the immediate effects and wanted to check if everything and everyone was alright. And though they're strong trainers who knows if there wasn't other grunts around who would join in a battle if they see their boss about to get captured. So they pretty much had more important things to do than try to arrest the villains.

Also, yeah, MAYBE if it was the original Team Plasma then Malon may have had a point, but it's VERY obvious that Neo Team Plasma are villains. I think it's more to show that Malon is very chill to the point he doesn't realize what's going on around him (thus why he leaves us and our rival to deal with Neo Team Plasma).

Also I have a feeling that Looker was on the verge of arresting Malva, however when he realized Emma was in danger he needed her to give him the pieces of the puzzle he needed to arrest Xerosic. He had to reluctantly make a deal with her and I'm guessing the deal was that any information he dug up on her being a member of Team Flare would need to be destroyed and in return she'll lead the player to where Xerosic's Lab is so he can follow.

Really? Well I hope this continues into the Kalos re-releases/sequels (if we even get them)

Yeah there is the bureaucracy to consider. Though that might hold little water depending on how long the player takes

Whose Malon? some sort of farmhand with a thing for an elf?

Makes sense. But maybe Malva wasn't satisfied with the evidence (or was plain old paranoid) and decided to take him out to sea...

1. Sorry, meant Marlon:

(BTW & Off-topic: Were Hylians meant to be based on elves?)

2. But ORAS is 5+ years before XY.

Okay...

Maybe ORAS was meant to be an origin of sorts for Looker. Maybe he's an Amnesiac that went to work for Interpol to regain his memories. Maybe a lighthouse, missing baby and suspiciously similar dude are involved somehow?
So are we now adding Bioshock protagonist onto the list of possible characters that Looker can be. :P Well a city that's underwater or in the skies wouldn't be too out of place in the world of Pokemon, though the genetic experimenting (on humans) probably would be.

Back on topic, I got two mysteries:

1. What's the point of Keldeo changing forms?
2. How do you pronounce AZ's name? Do you pronounce it like it's a word ("Az") or do you just say the two letters ("Aye Zee")?

Keldeo changes to show off that it's learned the super special technique its mentors have attempted to teach it... at least in B2/W2. (at least guessing by the blue, orange, and green 'feathers' on its head corresponding to Cabalion, Terrakion, and Virizion) Afterward it's just to show that hey it's got that Secret Sword!

...Okay, I admit I've got nothing. But that's just my best guess for Keldeo. As for AZ, I've just been pronouncing the two letters. I mean, they're both capitalized...

  1. I'm pretty certain it's a sign of growth into a better warrior, or proof that he has learned his signature move
  2. I usually pronounce the letters...(I swear I'd just had that discussion on bulbagarden). However the pronunciation is unknown until the anime or an adaptation witch voice-acting adapts the back-story.
Now I want to know how Ho-Oh, a phoenix with orange, green and WHITE feathers, is able to leave a rainbow behind?

I figure those are just the colors the game shows, and that its feathers actually do shine in all the colors of the rainbow. Why else would they call one of its feathers the 'Rainbow Wing'? Probably relates more to the legend Ho-Oh is based on...

Well in the light spectrum white is combination of all colors.

And I just found something weird out, the random Ace Trainer in Wattson's apartment is his wife! :O

If, like me, you are British then you say neither - you say "Aye Zed".
Zee, Zed, its still the letter Z. Though I personally can't use zed since it reminds me of Lord Zedd.

I like how Power Rangers was a kids show yet one of the main villains was a skinless man with exposed muscle tissue and brain. And before you say anything, Lord Zedd was a Power Ranger creation, he was never in Super Sentai.

And new mystery:
What do you think the magazine "The Fame and the Shame! Champions Exposed!" is about? Some seem to think it's a porn mag though to me it always sounded like one of those tabloid magazines.

The title does seem clickbaity enough for a tabloid. I have a feeling Steven or his predecessors may have wound up in a scandal of sorts. Is there anything else we know about this book?

Little thing I noticed, but I don't know 100% if its true since I forgot. In Dewford Town, the trend guy was a Youngster when I got there first. Now when I went there to SR Giratina, he's a SchoolBoy!?(and I made X Speed houses the new trend :))

Not sure if anyone is interested but I found out what happens to the fossil you don't choose in fr/lg. you can find it ( but not catch it ) on an exhibition outside safari zone. Also if you get Lapras one of those lakes will be empty but if you don't you will find it there.
