########
- Able to devastate Fire and Steel types using STAB Sheer Force, Life Orb boosted Earth power
- Speed tier is not ideal, as although it beats the (formerly) important base 100 tier, it loses to the new fast tier of 110
- Weak to two common attack types, water and ice
- Works best on teams that like Fire and Steel types gone, Hail appreciates these pokemon being eliminated as they can take a few Blizzards or Giga Drains and easily beat Abomasnow / Ice types
- Threatened by pretty much anything that outspeeds it and commonly carries Ice coverage, most notably things like Weavile, Mamoswine and Keldeo. Kyurem-B can take a hit from Lando and OHKO with Ice Beam, while Keldeo outspeeds and OHKOs with Scald. Mamoswine can KO with Ice shard, while Weavile can outspeed and KO with Icicle Crash
- Using Lando-I does prevent you from using Lando-T, and this can be classed as a drawback
- Lando-I's edge over other Ground types is that it gets a single target special ground move, is boosted by Sheer Force making it incredibly powerful, and allows you to use ground coverage without worrying about Earthquaking your own Pokemon
Life Orb Attacker

move 3: Hidden Power Ice / Rock Slide / Focus Blast
move 4: Protect
ability: Sheer Force
item: Life Orb
evs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
nature: Timid
Moves
========
- Earth Power is boosted by Sheer Force, allowing it to always OHKO Heatran through Shuca Berry
- Sludge bomb beats fairy and grass types
- Psychic can also hit Grass types such as Amoonguss, Breloom and Venusaur.
- Rock Slide with the Sheer Force and Life Orb boost hits around the same damage as Scarfed Landorus-T, always OHKOing Charizard Y and Talonflame, and Focus Blast can always OHKO Mega Kangaskhan and standard Ferrothorn
- Hidden Power Ice allows Landorus to hit Landorus-T
- Protect keeps Landorus safe while a threat is eliminated by a partner or a field condition is stalled out
Set Details
========
- 252 SpA EVs ensure maximum damage output coupled with Sheer Force
- Max Speed EVs with a Timid nature lets you beat the base 100 tier
- 4 spare EVs go into SpD
- Sheer Force allows for Life Orb to be used with no recoil on moves boosted by Sheer Force
Usage Tips
========
- Always OHKOing Heatran with Shuca Berries is great as it takes the guessing out of if it will live and fire back
- Works best mid to late game when things that can outspeed and threaten it are removed, as Sheer Force Life Orb Earth Power will finish off almost anything under half health that doesn't resist
- Slightly frail and doesn't take neutral hits well
- Weak to speed control for above reason, it likes to move first to do its damage, attempt to net a KO and avoid taking a hit back
Team Options
========
- Steel-types such as Aegislash or Mega Metagross like Fire and Steel-types being obliterated by Earth Power, while they can remove Ice-types such as Kyurem-B
- Cresselia or Jirachi can use Icy Wind or Thunder Wave to slow down a faster threat, and also provide Helping Hand to net a KO thats out of reach, Jirachi can also switch in to Ice attacks for Landorus
- Bulky water types to switch-in to water and ice types, Suicune is nice as it has tailwind or icy wind and can beat most ice types. Rotom-W can beat ice and water types, and Landorus can beat grass types for them both with sludge bomb. Ludicolo beats water types and can deal with ice types pretty well
- Thundurus-I can provide speed control with thunder wave, taunt speed control / follow me users while Landorus can beat electric types that Thundy can't hit
- Landorus appreciates speed control, so Tailwind is useful. Zapdos can beat bulky water types
- Talonflame can remove the Grass types that resist Earth Power, aswell as dealing with Swift Swim Ludicolo and Shaymin Sky
- Shaymin Sky can also beat bulky water types, as can Breloom
- Mega Abomasnow appreciates things like Heatran and Aegislash being removed so it can spam Blizzard without worrying about Steel or Fire types resisting them
Other Options
########
- Substitute can be used as Landorus forces alot of switches and protects
- Landorus-I's movepool is incredibly shallow and it shouldn't really be using anything thats not on the main set bar sub
- Choice Scarf is an option to surprise some things like Landorus-T
[OVERVIEW]
Landorus is able to destroy Fire- and Steel-types using its combination of Sheer Force, Life Orb, and STAB Earth Power. It works well on teams that appreciate Fire- and Steel-types removed, such as hail teams, as threats to hail teams such as Heatran and Aegislash are able to easily stand up to Blizzard and Giga Drain. While Landorus is able to outspeed fully invested base 100 Speed Pokemon, it is threatened by Pokemon that can outspeed it and commonly carry an Ice- or Water-type move, such as Weavile, Mamoswine, and Keldeo. Also, using Landorus means you can't use Landorus-T, which can be classed as a drawback because Landorus has no defensive ability. Landorus's edge over other Ground-types is that it has access to a single-target special Ground-type move that is boosted by Sheer Force, making it incredibly powerful. Unlike Earthquake, Earth Power allows Landorus to threaten Aegislash without worrying about Wide Guard and use Ground-type coverage without worrying about hitting teammates. Landorus also doesn't suffer from a drop in power due to Intimidate or burns.

Moves
========
Earth Power gains a boost from Sheer Force, meaning it is able to always OHKO Shuca Berry Heatran. Sludge Bomb deals big damage to Fairy- and Grass-types, and Psychic can also hit Grass-types such as Amoonguss, Breloom, and Venusaur. Hidden Power Ice provides coverage and is mainly used for Landorus-T. Rock Slide is another option; with the Sheer Force and Life Orb boosts, it always OHKOes Mega Charizard Y and Talonflame. On the other hand, Focus Blast can always OHKO Mega Kangaskhan and standard Ferrothorn. Protect keeps Landorus safe for the turn and stalls out opposing Tailwind and Trick Room.
Set Details
========
252 Special Attack EVs paired with Sheer Force allow for maximum damage output. 252 Speed EVs ensure Landorus outspeeds base 100 Speed Pokemon. The 4 spare EVs go into Special Defense. Life Orb boosts the power of Landorus's attacks with secondary effects, and Sheer Force means that Landorus won't take Life Orb recoil when using such moves.
Usage Tips
========
Landorus's ability to always OHKO Shuca Berry Heatran is great, as it takes the guessing out of whether Heatran will survive and hit back or not. Landorus works best mid- and late-game when foes that can outspeed and threaten it have been removed, as Sheer Force- and Life Orb-boosted Earth Power will finish off almost anything under half health that doesn't resist it. Landorus is frail and doesn't take neutral hits well, so it is not a great switch-in most of the time. Its good defensive typing is rendered almost useless due to its frailty, and its Electric-type immunity is almost useless because most Electric-types carry Hidden Power Ice or are immune to Ground, such as Rotom-W, Zapdos, and Thundurus, and other Electric-types, such as Raikou and Mega Manectric, outspeed it. Its resistance to Fighting doesn't help much either, as Terrakion's Close Combat followed by a Rock Slide 2HKOes Landorus, so it can't switch in. It is vulnerable to speed control, as it likes to move first to attempt to get a KO without suffering a hit back.
Team Options
========
Steel-types such as Aegislash and Mega Metagross like Landorus's ability to obliterate Fire-and Steel-types with Earth Power, and they can remove Ice-types such as Kyurem-B for Landorus. Cresselia and Jirachi can use Icy Wind or Thunder Wave to slow down a faster threat and use Helping Hand to let Landorus net a KO that would otherwise be out of its reach. Jirachi can also switch in to Ice-type attacks for Landorus. Thundurus is able to use Thunder Wave to slow threats down and Taunt to stop opposing speed control users, while Landorus beats the Electric-types that Thundurus can't. Bulky Water-types to switch into Water- and Ice-types for Landorus are appreciated. Suicune is a nice example, as it has access to Tailwind and Icy Wind and can beat most Ice-types; Rotom-W can beat Ice- and Water-types as well. Landorus can beat Grass-types for them both with Sludge Bomb. Ludicolo can beat Water-types and can deal with Ice-types pretty well. Zapdos beats Water-types and can provide Tailwind to allow Landorus to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame. Shaymin-S and Breloom also beat Water-types. Mega Abomasnow appreciates Fire- and Steel-type foes such as Heatran and Aegislash being removed so that it can spam Blizzard without worrying about them switching in, so it appreciates Landorus as a partner.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Landorus forces a lot of switches with its powerful moves, so Substitute can be used to catch opponents off-guard. Landorus has a shallow movepool and shouldn't really be using anything not listed on the main set besides that. It can also run a Choice Scarf to surprise foes such as Landorus-T.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Typing Advantage**: Rotom-W is immune to Earth Power and can easily survive any of Landorus's coverage moves and OHKO it back with Hydro Pump. Kyurem-B can survive a hit and OHKO with Ice Beam, and the Choice Scarf variant can outspeed and OHKO without worry. Keldeo can OHKO with a Life Orb-boosted Scald, while Icy Wind has an 81% chance to OHKO and will also drop Landorus's teammate's Speed. Politoed, Gyarados, Suicune, Jellicent, and Ludicolo can all take a hit and KO with their STAB moves. Landorus is threatened by different Pokemon depending on its coverage. If it doesn't have Sludge Bomb, it will struggle to deal with Fairy-types. If it has Focus Blast, Flying-types become an issue. Finding out what coverage Landorus is carrying is important before sending in something to deal with it.
**Speed**: Mamoswine can OHKO with Ice Shard, and Weavile can outspeed and OHKO with Ice Punch. Talonflame takes a large chunk out of Landorus's HP with Brave Bird, but it is easily KOed by recoil and an attack. Mega Metagross KOs with Ice Punch, while offensive Thundurus, Raikou, and Mega Manectric outspeed and OHKO Landorus with Hidden Power Ice. Darkrai and Gengar can hit hard with Icy Wind and drop Landorus's Speed, leaving it open to attack. Landorus doesn't have a lot of bulk, so be careful switching it in.
**Speed Control**: Landorus has a very poor matchup against Trick Room, as it can't do much to Cresselia, which can either take a hit and use Trick Room or attack Landorus with Ice Beam. Mega Abomasnow can destroy Landorus with Blizzard while Trick Room is up. Mega Mawile has a 69% chance to OHKO with Play Rough. Zapdos can take a hit and set up Tailwind, putting Landorus in a bad position, or simply OHKO Landorus with Hidden Power Ice. Suicune can get Tailwind up, use Snarl to weaken Landorus, or OHKO it with Ice Beam. In general, a lot of slower Pokemon with powerful STAB moves beat Landorus that normally wouldn't while Trick Room or Tailwind is up, as Landorus is fairly frail.
