oras or x y?

I would like to buy x/y or/as to start a competitive team(probabily OU) and play online, the problem is that I'm not sure wich of these should I buy because I know that x/y have more pokemons from other generations (+ you get the possibility to have a kanto starter) but oras have more mega evolutions and legendary pokemons as far as I know. So I would like to ask some questions.

-1- If I buy x/y will I be able to play online against oras users?
-2-If I buy oras and I need to do online trading, do people actually trade random wild pokemons(by random I mean no evs, no breeding etc)
-3-wich one is better for a competitive team building in general?(breeding, ev training, items)
