PGL Stats

Registration for PGL opens in less than a week, and those of us hoping to field teams for the competition would probably benefit from some statistics.

So I ran my stats scripts on the PGL data from up to about 20 minutes ago, and I'm uploaded the stats files to smogon.com/stats

There's a lot of different types of files and versions of files, so I'm going to repost what I personally think are the most useful: the 1630-weighted usage stats and the unweighted moveset stats.

I'll try to update these files at least once before registration opens and then again before it closes.

Usage stats, weighted using a baseline of 1630. These stats reflect what "good players" are using. Note that "Raw" = unweighted and "Real" = unweighted, but only counting actual appearances in battle.

• Here's the 1630 moveset stats, which will be your best resource for movesets, items, abilities, etc.
• And here's the unweighted moveset stats, which will give you the most data for assessing teammates, checks and counters.

To find a specific pokemon, do a text-search (usually command-F on macs / Ctrl-F on anything else) and type, say, "sneasel ", that is, "sneasel", space, space.

I wonder if Sneasel is useful in the current meta???

The fact Onix is so high indicates its role as support. Looking at its spread and movepool, it's being used as a lead+anti-(hazard) lead with a fastish taunt. Sturdy is damn useful, although I'd say the only reason it's not 100% BJ is probably something else is running it.

Fletchling is surprisingly low, considering that it doesn't take up an item slot whatsoever. Surprising amount of overheat though.

And people aren't abusing Compoundeyes+Hypnosis Yanma, instead they're using it as their Sneasel and Scyther check with Speed Boost.
