[OVERVIEW]

As one of the most versatile Pokemon in STABmons, Meloetta can fill a variety of roles. It has the potential to be a deadly setup sweeper, a powerful wallbreaker, or an excellent special tank. As such, it can fit into many team archetypes, such as balance and offense. Meloetta's unique typing provides an immunity to Ghost and only two weaknesses, which benefits Meloetta's longevity. Offensively, Meloetta gains a very spammable move in Boomburst. This is aided by Meloetta's solid Special Attack, which allows it to be one of the best special attackers in the metagame. In addition, Meloetta also has very good special bulk, allowing it to tank lots of hits. Unfortunately, Meloetta is held back by its poor Speed combined with its near-useless ability. It also has an underlying vulnerability to Pursuit trapping and the more common Knock Off. Lastly, Meloetta doesn't have a very good STAB combination, so it often relies on coverage moves.

move 2: Psystrike
move 3: Focus Blast

ability: Serene Grace
nature: Modest
evs: 144 HP / 252 SpA / 112 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Boomburst is an incredibly spammable STAB move, with 140 Base Power, 100% accuracy, and no downsides whatsoever. Psystrike is another very powerful STAB move, and it hits specially defensive walls such as Chansey. Focus Blast hits would-be safe switch-ins such as Heatran and Tyranitar hard. Dazzling Gleam is mainly used to hit Sableye, which otherwise walls Meloetta. U-turn is a great move to maintain momentum on predicted switches. Hidden Power Ice is a usable option to hit certain bulky Pokemon such as Landorus-T and Garchomp. Hidden Power Fire can be used to hit Scizor in particular, as well as provide a more reliable attack for Ferrothorn. Trick is worth noting as well, as it can be used with Choice Specs to cripple walls such as Chansey and Porygon2.

Set Details
========

The EVs are set to maximize Meloetta's power and bulk, with enough Speed EVs invested to outspeed Tyranitar. Choice Specs is the ideal option to make Meloetta hit as hard as possible while not whittling down its HP, as Meloetta has no form of recovery. Life Orb is another viable option, that boosts the power of all of Meloetta's moves without locking it into a move. Meloetta uses a Modest nature for maximum power.

Usage Tips
========

Meloetta should be used to break down defensive cores because of its overwhelming wallbreaking potential. When in doubt, spam Boomburst, as no Pokemon wants to take a neutral Boomburst. Make sure to not switch Meloetta into physical attacks and especially a potential Knock Off, as Meloetta's physical bulk is rather poor and it is a very item-reliant Pokemon. In general, be careful bringing Meloetta out if the opponent has Tyranitar or Weavile, as they can Pursuit trap it, potentially KOing it. Following that, if Meloetta has Choice Specs, try to avoid using Psystrike until Dark-types such as Tyranitar and Weavile have been KOed.

Team Options
========

Meloetta functions very well on teams that have trouble dealing with defensive cores, because it dismantles bulky builds. Setup sweepers such as Porygon-Z and Scizor appreciate Meloetta's ability to beat most walls, including Unaware Clefable and Quagsire. Fire-type Pokemon such as Mega Charizard X and Talonflame can beat the Steel-types that Meloetta can have trouble with, particularly Bronzong and Bug/Steel-type Pokemon (most notably Scizor and Forretress). Entry hazard setters make it even harder to switch in on Meloetta. As Meloetta is vulnerable to Dark-type moves, especially Knock Off, Pokemon that resist Dark and, specifically, Knock Off absorbers are good team options as well. Some good examples are Whimsicott and Terrakion.

[SET]
name: Shell Smash
move 1: Shell Smash
move 2: Psyshock / Hyper Voice
move 3: Focus Blast
move 4: Dazzling Gleam
item: White Herb / Life Orb
ability: Serene Grace
nature: Modest
evs: 88 Def / 232 SpA / 188 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Shell Smash is a powerful setup move that patches up Meloetta's low Speed and raises its Special Attack to an absurdly high level, turning Meloetta into a potent sweeper. Psyshock is a powerful STAB move that allows Meloetta to hit specially defensive tanks hard, while Hyper Voice is an alternate STAB option that has slightly better neutralcoverage but leaves Meloetta weaker to special walls. Focus Blast is used to hit Steel-types hard, which otherwise give Meloetta huge problems. It also offers decent super effective coverage. Unfortunately, with only 70% accuracy, it isn't that reliable. Dazzling Gleam is mainly used to hit Sableye, which otherwise walls Meloetta, and is also useful for hitting Dark- and Dragon-types for super effective damage.

Set Details
========

The EVs are set to maximize power and Speed and guarantee that Meloetta survives Adamant Silk Scarf Ursaring's Fake Out + Extreme Speed from full health with no Defense drops, the strongest priority attacker that might attempt to revenge kill Meloetta. White Herb is used in conjunction with Shell Smash, as it removes the Defense and Special Defense drops and makes Meloetta more difficult to revenge kill. Life Orb is also an option to increase the power of Meloetta's attacks in general. When using Life Orb, an EV spread of 68 HP / 252 SpA / 188 Spe should be used because the extra bulk isn't needed without White Herb and it's preferable to go for the most power possible. A Modest nature is preferable to Timid because the extra Speed doesn't allow Meloetta to outspeed anything notable at +2, and the extra power Modest provides is appreciated.

Usage Tips
========

Shell Smash should generally be the first move used, but don't feel forced to use it. If Meloetta is up against a priority user, it is sometimes smarter to just take the KO with an unboosted move and save setting up for later, as Meloetta can only use White Herb once. Try to remove Prankster users such as Thundurus and Sableye before sending in Meloetta because they can use various moves such as Thunder Wave and Topsy-Turvy to cripple it. While Meloetta is capable of tanking priority moves if absolutely needed, it is generally recommended to try removing priority-based revenge killers such as Fake Out + Extreme Speed users and Talonflame before Meloetta sets up, as they are capable of ending its sweep. Meloetta is generally better late-game to clean up already weakened foes. It isn't always able to outright OHKO foes, so having prior damage is very useful. Directly switching Meloetta in is generally a bad idea because it just gives the foe a free attack, and Meloetta is far less effective as a sweeper with prior damage.

Team Options
========

Pokemon that can set up Light Screen and Reflect such as Mew and Slowking are good team options because dual screens effectively double Meloetta's bulk and allow it to set up much more easily. Pokemon that can cripple the foe without KOing it such as Memento Whimsicott and Parting Shot Sableye can give Meloetta an easy opportunity to set up while also maintaining momentum. A physically bulky attacker such as Mew or Clefable can they deal with Meloetta's biggest threats such as Sableye and Fake Out + Extreme Speed Braviary while being able to either cripple them with Will-O-Wisp or Thunder Wave or simply KO them with their powerful attacks. Entry hazard removers such as Excadrill and Latias are appreciated because Meloetta does not perform as well with prior damage. Conversely, entry hazard setters such as Forretress can whittle down foes and help Meloetta nab some KOs that it would not get otherwise such as a guaranteed OHKO on Mega Charizard Y after Stealth Rock damage and a guaranteed OHKO against Mega Blastoise with Stealth Rock damage and one layer of Spikes. Pokemon such as Porygon2 and Ferrothorn that can deal with Fake Out + Extreme Speed users are good team options, as Fake Out + Extreme Speed can threaten to KO Meloetta if it is weakened.

[SET]
name: Special Tank
move 1: Boomburst
move 2: Psystrike
move 3: Focus Blast
move 4: Rapid Spin / U-turn
item: Assault Vest
ability: Serene Grace
nature: Modest
evs: 144 HP / 252 SpA / 112 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Boomburst is a very powerful and spammable STAB move. Psystrike is another very powerful STAB move that hits special tanks, most notably Chansey. Focus Blast hits Steel-types, which otherwise stop Meloetta, although its poor accuracy makes it unreliable. Rapid Spin is an option for teams that need entry hazard control. U-turn is used to maintain momentum on predicted switches. Dazzling Gleam can be used to hit Sableye, which otherwise walls Meloetta, but it isn't as important on this set because Meloetta isn't trying to break walls and it can just U-turn out.

Set Details
========

Meloetta has excellent natural bulk, and Assault Vest allows it to switch into many special attackers such as Gengar and Mega Manectric. Enough Speed is invested to outspeed Tyranitar, while full Special Attack investment and a Modest nature maximizes Meloetta's damage output. The remaining EVs are put into HP for maximum bulk. Boomburst can still hit hard without a boosting item thanks to its high Base Power. Alternatively, you can opt for 252 Special Defense EVs and a Calm nature if you desire bulk over attack power.

Usage Tips
========

Meloetta has insanely good special bulk and can switch into just about any special attack bar Dark-type attacks comfortably. When in doubt, spam Boomburst because it will hit just about anything hard bar Pokemon that resist it; even when uninvested, it will 2HKO a large majority of threats. However, Sableye will nearly always switch into Meloetta, so don't be afraid to click Dazzling Gleam if Meloetta is running it and Sableye is still healthy. Rapid Spin is easy to use assuming the opponent doesn't have Sableye, as people won't be expecting it. It's important to keep entry hazards off the field when using Assault Vest Meloetta because of how prone it is to getting worn down coupled with Meloetta's lack of recovery. If you predict your opponent will switch Pokemon but aren't sure what they'll send in, U-turn is a great option. A slow U-turn allows Meloetta to absorb the hit if the foe attacks and allows you to send in whatever puts you in the best position.
Team Options
========

Physical tanks such as Ferrothorn can absorb physical hits, while Meloetta can take special ones in return. Pokemon with Will-O-Wisp such as Sableye also help Meloetta by crippling physical attackers. Entry hazard removers such as Excadrill and Latias are good options because Meloetta is very prone to getting worn down and entry hazards expedite the process. Charizard Mega Y can deal with Steel-types, which otherwise annoy Meloetta, while Meloetta can remove Stealth Rock in return. Knock Off absorbers such as Terrakion are good partners due to Meloetta's weakness to the move. Wish passers such as Chansey and Clefable help preserve Meloetta's longevity, letting it continue walling threats.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Meloetta can run a fully defensive set with Recover and Glare, which can be fairly useful. Calm Mind can be used, but such a set can be rather ineffective because it is generally outclassed by other special attackers such as Hoopa-Unbound. Alternatively, running Judgment and either Flame Plate, Fist Plate, or Earth Plate on the wallbreaker and sweeper sets is an option, as they offer more reliable and powerful coverage; however, using the item slot on the Plate can be disappointing, as it doesn't boost any other moves. Other coverage options such as Energy Ball, Shadow Ball, and Thunderbolt are all relatively viable and can remove threats such as Suicune, Jirachi, and Skarmory, although they don't cover anything notable and are very team specific. Meloetta can use a set with Wish, Protect, Baton Pass, and Hyper Voice or Psyshock, but this is usually unadvised due to other Pokemon outclassing it in this department such as Chansey. Using Meloetta-P is another option, as Meloetta has higher Speed in its Pirouette forme and can take advantage of Extreme Speed. Meloetta-P isn't that viable, though, as it has to spend a turn using Relic Song to transform and has to do it again if it ends up switching out, in addition to Relic Song wasting a moveslot.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Sableye**: Due to its Dark / Ghost typing, Sableye is immune to both of Meloetta's STAB types. It is also immune to Meloetta's most common coverage option, Focus Blast. If Meloetta opts not to run Dazzling Gleam, Sableye walls it. If that isn't enough, Sableye can end Meloetta's sweep with Topsy-Turvy and turn it into setup bait.

**Offensive Dark-types and Pursuit Trappers**: Meloetta has mediocre physical bulk, and any physical Dark Pokemon such as Weavile or Tyranitar gives it a lot of trouble, especially if running Pursuit, which many Dark-types run in STABmons. Moreover, Bisharp resists or is immune to both of Meloetta's STAB types and always runs Sucker Punch.

**Bulky Steel-types**: Bulky Steel-types such as Scizor and Jirachi resist both of Meloetta's STAB types and don't care much about Focus Blast. Unless Meloetta is running Fire coverage, they will force it out.

**Revenge Killers**: Meloetta is very vulnerable to being revenge killed by the likes of Stoutland and Weavile due to its mediocre Speed and lack of priority moves.

Hi I'm here for the QC check

[Overview]
  • This part of the 3rd bullet feels unnecessary. "(Dark and Bug-type attacks, the latter of which isn’t a very relevant offensive typing anyways)."
  • I think you should rephrase 2nd bullet point, say something like "due to its great special attack and special defense stats, Meloetta can be a great wallbreaker, special tank, or sweeper.
  • No need to list the speed tier is 90 the stats will be listed. Just say it's mediocre.
  • Combine the 4th and last bullet points, something like "due to its mediocre speed tier, it is outsped by many threats."
[Set 1]

I think this should be strictly a Judgment set. Either create another set for specs, or list it in OO.
  • Leave judgement as the only option for move 3.
  • Have slot 4 be Focus Blast/Calm Mind/Dazzling Gleam
  • Have the item's be Earth Plate/ Flame Plate/ Fist Plate
[Set Comments]
  • Delete the part of the bullet that says "more info in set details."
  • Be sure to hit on the accuracy problems of focus blast.
  • Move u-turn to OO.
  • Add a bullet about how Calm Mind can be used to set up and boost power.
[Set Details]
  • Remove the two bullets about LO/Specs
[Usage tips]
  • The 2nd bullet is a little odd I think you should rephrase it or omit it.
[Team options]

Everything looks good here :)

[Set 2]

Everything looks good :)

[Set Comments]
  • Also make sure you note the stat drops SS causes here.
  • I would delete the second sentence of bullet 2.
  • Again be sure to note the (lack of) accuracy of Focus Blast.
[Set Details]

Looking good :)

[Usage Tips]
  • You said twice that white herb can only be used once, take out one of those preferably the last one.
[Team Options]
  • Add something about a hazard control teammate if you are running sash, keeps sash unbroken.
  • Add something check/handle fake speeders such as ferrothorn/porygon2 etc because they can break sash, or otherwise KO or cripple Meloetta.
[Set 3]
  • I'd leave rapid spin as the only option in slot 3
[Set Comments]
  • Delete the second part of the Focus Blast bullet.
  • Again, put the accuracy problems of Focus Blast here (Just want to note it with each set).
[Set Details]
  • Don't need to list the stats of the bulk because they will already be on the page.
[Usage tips]

Looking good :)

[Team Options]
  • I'd add Charizard because it can take care of steel types for Meloetta, who can take care of hazards in return.
[Other Options]
  • The transform set is too outclassed to even be listed.
  • If you aren't gonna add a whole specs set, list specs as an option.
  • Maybe consider listing relic song physical set.
[C+C]
  • Combine the offensive Dark types and Pursuit users.
Overall really good analysis. Implement these changes and you can open this little tab thing.

Thanks for the QC, I implemented almost everything. In my opinion the first set should remain how it is, it isn't specifically a judgement set and can function well without it.
I also disagree merging Dark-types and Pursuit users, because they are quite different.

If another QC'r agrees I'll still change that.

Thanks again!

WIP

Overview
  • Since the second bullet point pretty much explains the reasons behind the first bullet point, these two bullet points should probably be merged into a single statement.
  • The 3rd bullet point is lacking. What makes Meloetta's typing so great, offensively and defensively? Be sure to mention its great offensive STABs and its resistance to Psystrike which allows it to stand out among special sponges.
  • "Solid stats" needs some expansion. Mention that its relatively high Special Attack stat allows it to stand out as one of the metagame's best special attackers in one bullet point, and talk about its special bulk in another.
  • (Optional) Mention how Meloetta's ability is useless for it in the negatives.
  • I noticed that most of the overview was, while not c/p'd, lifted and shortened from the Meloetta analysis on-site. What you did isn't too major, but in the future please refrain from lifting bullet points directly from the on-site analysis. It's fine to use them as a guide, but just copying is plagiarism which is highly frowned upon.

Wallbreaker (rename to simply "Wallbreaker", same with the other sets)
Set
  • Remove Judgment (and Earth Plate) and add it to OO. Judgment simply isn't as good anymore now that it can't be used alongside Shell Smash, as when used as a direct attacker Specs is a far better option.
  • Change the spread to 144 HP / 252 SpA / 112 Spe, which allows it to outspeed Tyranitar lacking Sucker Punch.
  • Slash Specs before LO.
  • With the above changes in mind, put Focus Blast alone in slot 3, and put [ Dazzling Gleam / U-Turn ] in slot 4.
Moves
  • Give examples of would-be switch-ins that Focus Blast takes care of.
  • Don't forget to adjust this section for the changes on the main set.
Set Details
  • This looks good, but needs lots of removals and reordering due to the changes on the main set.
Usage Tips
  • Talk about how Meloetta should be used as a wallbreaker to break down defensive cores.
  • Remove the plate stuff since Judgment is now OO.
  • On the bullet point that you talk about Pursuit, also mention that when using specs you should generally avoid locking yourself into Psytrike while they're still alive.
Team Options
  • Since Meloetta always runs Dazzling Gleam now, remove the Sableye bullet point.
  • I wouldn't say wallbreaker Meloetta works with "just about anything", HO teams would prefer faster mons for example. Instead say that it works well with teams that have trouble dealing with defensive cores due to Meloetta's ability to break them.
  • Mention entry hazard setters (and examples) which help make Meloetta even more difficult to switch into.
  • Mention Dark-type resists and Knock Off absorbers (and examples) here to help Meloetta with its Dark-type weakness. Terrakion might be worth a special mention thanks to Justified.

Sweeper
Set
  • The consequences of running both STABs here is too great I think - without Focus Blast Steel-types have a field day and without Dazzling Gleam Sableye just completely walls you. [ Shell Smash / (Psyshock / Hyper Voice) / Focus Blast / Dazzling Gleam) is the correct move order here I think.
  • A [ 88 Def / 232 SpA / 188 Spe ] spread drops some unnecessary speed in exchange for bulk and lets Meloetta outspeed positive base 110 scarfers and down after a Smash. Some SpA is dropped to allow Meloetta to live an Adamant Silk Scarf Ursaring FakeSpeed from full health with White Herb, the strongest priority attacker that might attempt to revenge Meloetta.
  • Remove Focus Sash and replace with LO since Focus Sash is pretty much a wasted item slot, and while LO makes Meloetta a lot easier to revenge kill the additional power makes it a notable option.
Moves
  • Shell Smash sounds more like an explanation of the move moreso than an explanation of how it benefits Meloetta. Instead say that it patches up its low Speed and raises its Special Attack to gargantuan levels, turning it into a powerful sweeper.
  • Reorder and reword the moves taking into account the changes on the main set.
Set Details
  • Explain that White Herb makes Meloetta more difficult to revenge kill since it will allow Meloetta to retain its ability to stomach priority attacks.
  • Explain how when using Life Orb a spread of [ 68 HP / 252 SpA / 188 Spe ] is preferred to maximize Special Attack, as the additional bulk is not needed without White Herb.
  • Change the EV description in accordance to the changes on the main set.
Usage Tips
  • Since Focus Sash is no longer an item, replace the 3rd bullet point with something along the lines of "While Meloetta can stomach priority moves if needed, it is generally recommended to try and remove priority-based revenge killers such as Fake Out + Extreme Speed users and Talonflame before Meloetta sweeps, as they still pose a significant threat to Meloetta's sweep."
  • Mention that Meloetta should not be directly switched in before setting up, as it is far more difficult for Meloetta to sweep after being weakened beforehand.
Team Options
  • Like the above, Focus Sash is no longer an item but the bullet point can be salvaged. Teammates that can control entry hazards are still valuable because Meloetta does not appreciate being worn down before setting up.
  • Mention hazard setters to let Meloetta score additional KO's
  • Why does the physically bulky Pokemon need to be a special attacker? Just say that they should be able to take a burn instead if that's what you had in mind.

Special Tank
Set
  • I don't think Rapid Spin needs a slash - it's certainly useful but not all teams that want to use tank Meloetta need it. Slash Focus Blast before Rapid Spin.
  • Reorder move 4 as [ Dazzling Gleam / U-Turn ]. Especially if Rapid Spin is being used hitting Sable is really important, despite U-Turn's benefits.
  • Assault Vest Pokemon lacking Regenerator are a lot better off using a tank spread as opposed to a fully defensive one. Change the spread to 144 HP / 252 SpA / 112 Spe, which, like the wallbreaker set, allows it to outspeed Tyranitar lacking Sucker Punch. It might seem like Meloetta isn't as bulky anymore, but Meloetta's natural bulk combined with AV is still more than enough. Change the nature to Modest as well.
Moves
  • Explain how Rapid Spin is an option for teams that need a form of hazard control.
  • Psystrike is another very powerful STAB that hits special tanks, most notably Chansey.
  • Reorder for changes and then this section should be fine.
Set Details
  • Don't give the exact numbers for Meloetta's stats, those are available in the dex entry.
  • Change this section in accordance to the changes on the main set.
Usage Tips
  • Talk about how it's important to try to keep entry hazards off the field at all times when using Meloetta, as it takes full damage from entry hazards and has no method of recovery, meaning they highly diminish Meloetta's longevity.
Team Options
  • AV Meloetta isn't really as offensive and thus doesn't scare out that many Pokemon, so I don't think hazards deserve a special mention here.
  • Hazard removes should get a mention here for the reasons I outlined in usage tips.
  • Mention Knock Off absorbers like in the first set.

Strategy Comments
Other Options
  • Mention that Meloetta can run a fully defensive set utilizing Recover and abusing Glare.
  • A Calm Mind set.
  • Mention a mixed set using Meloetta-P that can abuse Extreme Speed (I actually got rekt by one of these once it was really embarrassing ;-;).
  • Mention specially defensive Jirachi specifically as a Shadow Ball target that takes all of its other moves comfortably.
  • Judgment & Plates
  • Mention other coverage moves such as Energy Ball, Signal Beam, and Thunderbolt that are usable but don't hit anything notable.
  • Remove the Teeter Dance mention, as its quite hax reliant.
Checks and Counters
  • I don't think Chansey merits being here considering Specs and Shell Smash are the most common sets.
  • Also mention that Sableye is able to Topsy-Turvy Meloetta's boosts, ruining its sweep.
  • Soundproof mimez imo

Implement the changes and then I'll look over them and stamp.

first time doing a check post-bullets so no h8 plz ;;

Overview
  • remove "an even" - doesn't really need it tbh
  • change "very splashable" to "it can fit into many team archetypes, such as balanced or offense"
  • I wouldn't call Normal and Psychic spamable STABs. I think what you meant to say here is that it has a very spamable move in the form of Boomburst, but I might be wrong. Regardless, the change is more accurate, as Normal is not very spamable honestly.
  • change "on the contrary" to "in addition, "
  • this would also be a good time to mention that it doesn't have a very good STAB combination, meaning that it relies on coverage
Wallbreaker

Moves
  • I would make U-Turn the first slash and then Dazzling Gleam personally, but either way is fine honestly
  • This would be the place to mention Hidden Power Ice as an option to hit certain bulkymon such as Landorus-Therian and Garchomp, clearing the path for a teammate.
  • Also mention Hidden Power Fire for Scizor and a more secure hit on Ferrothorn, along with hitting Jirachi SE
  • Mention Trick here as well, as it can work well with Choice Specs.
Set Details
  • I would list what the EVs do first, as this set has a specific EV spread
Team Options
  • Good
Sweeper

Moves
  • I would make Psyshock first over Hyper Voice
  • I would make it Shadow Ball and then Dazzling Gleam, as Shadow Ball not only hits Ghost-types in general (if Hyper Voice) but also hits fellow Psychic-types (if Psyshock)
Set Details
  • Again, I would put what the EVs do first before items, especially the Ursaring comment
Special Tank

Moves
  • I would change how it's listed - basically, have it so the main slashes are Boomburst / Psystrike / Focus Blast / Rapid Spin. Then I would put U-Turn slashed with Rapid Spin, as Focus Blast is too important to lose out. Dazzling Gleam isn't as important here, since this isn't trying to break walls, so it doesn't mind being walled by Sableye that much (you can U-Turn on it). Instead, mention it in the comments
Set Details
  • Mention how that, thanks to Boomburst's high BP, it can hit hard despite not having a boosting item.
  • Change formidable tank to "it can switch into many special attackers" then mention them. An example is Gengar
  • Calm doesn't make much sense with the EV spread - it should either be Modest or 252 SpDef
  • In general I feel like 252 SpDef is better than 252 SpA - it lets you actually take on special attackers such as Mega Charizard Y (252 SpA Mega Charizard Y Blue Flare vs. 144 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Meloetta in Sun: 150-177 (39.7 - 46.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO). Meloetta's high BP moves let it hit hard despite not having any investment.
Team Options
  • Mention Wish Passers such as Chansey or Clefable are good teammates, as it lets Meloetta stay healthy and thus walling stuff
  • Don't say "Like the first set, Knock Off absorbers are good team options", as it assumes the reader read the other sets and didn't just skip to Assault Vest. Mention the Knock Off absorbers again
OO
  • Mention why Calm Mind can be rather ineffective
  • Remove Shadow Ball from here - anywhere its relevant it should be in the moves section
  • Mention that Shell Smash Meloetta can also run Plate Judgement.
  • Mention why its disappointing to give up an item slot for plate judgement (weakens everything else)
  • Mention that TBolt and Energy Ball (remove Signal Beam - it's strictly worst than Shadow Ball tbh) can be used on the wallbreaker set to lure in specific walls such as Skarmory or Suicune but are overall inefficient
  • Mention why Pirouette abuse isn't that good
CnC
  • Mention that both Sableye and Mega Sableye wreck it
  • Pursuit fits under most offensive Dark-types
  • Mention Bisharp under offensive Dark-types, as its probably the one that gives Meloetta the most problems due to resisting Boomburst as well, not to mention that it always runs Sucker Punch no matter what
  • Also mention Scizor with the bulky Steel-types unless you carry a Fire-type move
  • Put in Revenge Killers as an option, which would include scarfers and priority. This is due to Meleotta's mediocre speed.
Once that's all implemented I can give this QC 3/3 Joshz

Is what another QC'r said, I had it your way initially of 252 SpD.

Everything else implemented, thanks for the check. VM/reply if I fucked up the CnC though please as I felt a bit weak about it.

Alright, then make the main set 252 SpA but mention the 252 SpD spread in the comments. Also the main one should be Modest if its 252 SpA

Joshz the names of the sets should be Wallbreaker, Shell Smash Sweeper, and Special Tank. You don't put the Pokemon's name there nor do you use parentheses.

[OVERVIEW]

As one of the most versatile Pokemon in STABmons, Meloetta can fill a variety of roles. It has the potential to be a deadly set-up setup sweeper, a powerful wallbreaker, (AC) or an excellent special tank. Meloetta's unique typing boasts provides an immunity to Ghost and only 2 two weaknesses, which allows benefits Meloetta's to have more longevity. Offensively, Meloetta gains an amazing, (AC) very spammable move in Boomburst that is very spammable. This is aided by Meloetta's solid Special Attack, that which allows it to be one of the best special attackers in the metagame. In addition, Meloetta also has very good special bulk, allowing it to tank lots of hits. Unfortunately, Meloetta is disatisfied held back by its poor Speed tier combined with its near-useless ability. It also has an underlying weakness to Pursuit trapping and the more common Knock Off. Lastly, (AC) Meloetta doesn't have a very good stab STAB combination, (AC) so it often relies on coverage moves.

Moves

Boomburst is an incredibly spammable STAB move, with 140 Base Power, 100% accuracy, (AC) and no downsides whatsoever. Psystrike is another very powerful STAB move, and it hits specially defensive walls such as Chansey. Focus Blast is a powerful coverage option, and hits would-be safe switch-ins (add hyphen) such as Heatran or and Tyranitar hard. Dazzling Gleam is mainly to hit Sableye, (AC) who which otherwise walls Meloetta. U-turn is a great move to maintain momentum on predicted switches. Hidden Power Ice is a usable option to hit certain bulky Pokemon such as Landorus-Therian Landorus-T and Garchomp. Hidden Power Fire can be used to hit Scizor especially in particular, as well as provide a more reliable hit on Ferrothorn. Trick is worth noting as well, because it can be used with Choice Specs to cripple walls such as Chansey and Porygon2.

Set Details
========

The EVs are set to maximize power and bulk, with enough Speed EVs invested to outspeed Tyranitar not carrying Sucker Punch. Choice Specs is the ideal option to make Meloetta hit as hard as possible while not dwindling down its HP, since as Meloetta has no form of recovery. Life Orb is another viable option, that boosts the power of all of Meloetta's (apostrophe) moves, while not without locking it into a move. Meloetta has a Modest nature for maximum power.

Usage Tips
========

Meloetta should be used to break down defensive cores (RC) because of its overwhelming wallbreaking potential. When in doubt, spam Boomburst. Nothing wants to take a neutral Boomburst. Make sure to not switch Meloetta into physical attacks and especially a potential Knock Off, as its Meloetta's physical bulk is rather poor (RC) and though you may live a Knock Off Meloetta can lose it’s item, and Meloetta it is a very item-reliant Pokemon. In general, be careful bringing Meloetta out if the opponent has Tyranitar and/or Weavile, because they can Pursuit trap (remove hyphen) it, (AC) potentially KOing itand kill it potentially. Following that, if Meloetta has Choice Specs, (AC) try to avoid using Psystrike when Dark-types such as Tyranitar and Weavile are still alive.

Team Options
========

Wallbreaker Meloetta functions very well with teams that have trouble dealing with defensive cores, because it dismantles bulky builds. Setup sweepers such as Porygon-Z and Scizor appreciate Meloetta on their team, as Meloetta is able for its ability to beat(doubels apce) most walls, (AC) including Unaware Clefable and Quagsire. Fire-type mons Pokemon are excellent teammates for Meloetta because they beat the Steel-types that Meloetta can have trouble with, particularly Bronzong and Bug/Steel-type Pokemon (most notably Scizor and Forretress) unless Meloetta runs Flame Plate. Some of these fire types options are Charizard-Mega-Z Mega Charizard <I'm guessing X but most definitely not Z> and Talonflame. Having teammates to set Entry hazards setters work very well with Meloetta because they make it even harder to switch in on Meloetta. Pokemon that resist Dark-type resists and, (AC) specifically, (AC) Knock Off absorbers are good team options as well, because they can deal with Meloetta's weakness to them. Some good examples are Whimsicott and Terrakion.

Moves
========

Shell Smash is a powerful set up setup move that boosts Attack, Special Attack and Speed by 2 stages, thus making it an excellent move for set-up sweepers. However, Shell Smash does lower both Defense and Special Defense by 1 stage. It patches up Meloetta's low Speed and raises its Special Attack to an absurdly high amount level, (AC) and turns turning Meloetta into a potent sweeper. Psyshock is a powerful STAB Meloetta has, and move that allows Meloetta to hit specially defensive tanks hard, (AC) while Hyper Voice is the other an alternate STAB option. Focus Blast is used to hit Steel-types hard, (AC) which otherwise give Meloetta huge problems. It also offers decent Super-Effective super effective coverage. Unfortunately, with only 70% accuracy, (AC) it isn't that reliable. Dazzling Gleam is mainly used to hit Sableye, (AC) who which otherwise walls Meloetta, and is also useful for hitting Dark- (add hyphen) and Dragon-types for Super-Effective super effective damage.

Set Details
========

The EVs are set to maximize power and speed (RC) and guarantee that Meloetta lives survives an Adamant Silk Scarf Ursaring Fake Out + Extreme Speed from full health with White Herb, the strongest priority attacker that might attempt to revenge KO kill Meloetta. When using Life Orb, an EV spread of 68 HP / 252 SpA / 188 Spe is preferred, because the extra bulk isn't needed without White Herb (RC) and it's preferable to go for the maximum possible power. White Herb is used in conjunction with Shell Smash, as it removes the Defense and Special Defense drops and makes Meloetta more difficult to revenge kill. Life Orb is also an option (RC) to increase the power of Meloetta's attacks in general. Basically, White Herb gives Meloetta more bulk and Life Orb gives Meloetta more power. When using Life Orb, an EV spread of 68 HP / 252 SpA / 188 Spe is preferred, because the extra bulk isn't needed without White Herb and it's preferable to go for the maximum possible power. A Modest nature is preferable to Timid, because the extra Speed doesn't (apostrophe) allow Meloetta to outspeed anything notable at +2 and the extra power Modest provides is appreciated.

Usage Tips
========

Shell Smash should generally be the first move, but don't (apostrophe) feel forced to use it. If you are Meloetta is up against a priority user, it is sometimes smarter to just take the KO with an unboosted move and save setting up for later; (SC) you Meloetta can only use White Herb once. Try to remove Prankster Pokemon such as Thundurus and Sableye before sending in Meloetta, because they can use various moves such as Thunder Wave or and Topsy-Turvy (add hyphen) to cripple Meloetta it. While Meloetta is capable of stomaching priority moves if absolutely needed, it is generally recommended to try and remove removing priority-based revenge killers like such as Fake Out + Extreme Speed users and Talonflame before Meloetta sweeps, as they are capable of ending Meloetta's sweep them. Meloetta is generally better late-game, (add hyphen) to clean up already weakened (remove hyphen) foes. It isn't always able to outright OHKO opponents, so having prior damage is very useful. Directly switching Meloetta in is generally a bad idea, because it just gives the opponent free damage on Meloetta and Meloetta is far less effective as a sweeper with prior damage.

Team Options
========

Pokemon that set up Light Screen and Reflect such as Mew and Slowking are good team options, because they give effectively double Meloetta's twice as much pseudo-bulk and allow it to set up much more easily. Some examples are Mew or Slowking. Any Pokemon that can cripple the enemy without KOing it such as Whimsicott with Memento or and Sableye with Parting Shot are great team options teammates, as they allow Meloetta an easy opportunity to set up (RC) while also maintaining momentum. A physically bulky attacker such as Mew or Clefable are is an excellent team options partner for Meloetta, because they deal with Meloetta's (apostrophe) biggest threats such as Sableye or and Fake Out + Extreme Speed Braviary while being able to either cripple them with Will-o-Wisp or Thunder Wave (RC) or simply KO’ing them with Moonblast, Focus Blast, Dazzling Gleam, Aura Sphere, etc their powerful attacks. Entry hazard controlling teammates such as Excadrill and Latias are good team options appreciated, because Meloetta does not perform as well with prior damage. Conversely, hazard setters such as <....> pair well with Meloetta too because they can whittle down foes and help Meloetta nab some KOs that it would not get otherwise. Pokemon such as Porygon2 (remove space) and Ferrothorn that can deal with Fake Out + Extreme Speed users are good team options, since as Fake Out + Extreme Speed breaks Meloetta's Focus Sash and can threaten to KO it if Meloetta is weakened. Hazard setters are a good team option because they whittle down opponents and help Meloetta clean up some kills that it otherwise would not get.

Boomburst is a very powerful and spammable STAB move. Psystrike is another very powerful STAB move that hits special tanks, most notably Chansey. Focus Blast hits Steels who Steel-types, (AC) which otherwise stop Meloetta, although its poor accuracy makes it unreliable. Rapid Spin is an option for teams that need entry hazard control. U-turn is used to maintain momentum on predicted switches. Dazzling Gleam is can be used to hit Sableye, (AC) who which otherwise walls Meloetta, but it isn't as important on this set because Meloetta isn't trying to break walls and it can just U-turn out.

Set Details
========

Meloetta has excellent natural bulk, and Assault Vest means it can allows it to switch into many special attackers such as Gengar and Mega Manectric-Mega. Enough Speed is invested to outspeed Tyranitar not carrying Sucker Punch, and the rest are put into HP for bulk, along with a Modest nature to get the most possible power out of Meloetta. Boomburst has a very high BP, so it can still hit hard without a boosting item thanks to its high Base Power. Alternatively, (AC) you can optionally run opt for 252 Special Defense and a Calm nature rather than Modest and 252 Special Attack if you would prefer a bulkier and weaker Meloetta.

Usage Tips
========

Meloetta has insanely good special bulk on the special side, (RC) and can switch into just about any special attack bar Dark-type attacks comfortably. When in doubt, spam Boomburst because it is an incredibly good move and will hit just about anything hard bar resists Pokemon that resist it; (SC) even uninvested it will 2HKO a large majority of things threats. However, Sableye nearly always will switch into Meloetta, so don't (apostrophe) be afraid to click Dazzling Gleam if Meloetta is running it and Sableye is still alive. Rapid Spin is easy to use assuming they don't (apostrophe) have Sableye, because it’s not expected and people won't be expecting it. It's important to keep entry hazards off the field when using Assault Vest Meloetta (RC) because of how prone it is to getting worn down coupled with Meloetta's lack of recovery. If you predict your opponent will switch but aren't (apostrophe) sure into what, U-turn is a great option. A slow U-turn allows Meloetta to absorb a the hit if they do decide to attack (RC) and allows you to send in whatever puts you in the best position while maintaining momentum.

Team Options
========

Physical tanks such as Ferrothorn work great with Meloetta (RC) because they can absorb physical hits on the physical side while Meloetta can take all of the special ones, and burn-spreading (add hyphen) Pokemon like such as Sableye also help Meloetta, as they cripple physical attackers. Entry hazard removers like such as Excadrill and Latias are good options because Meloetta is very prone to getting worn down and hazards expedite the process. Charizard is a good team option, (AC) as it can deal with Steels who Steel-types, (AC) which otherwise annoy Meloetta, and while Meloetta can deal with remove hazards in return. Knock Off absorbers such as Terrakion are good team options partners due to Meloetta's weakness to them it. Wish passers such as Chansey and Clefable are good team options because they help preserve Meloetta's longevity, (AC) and lets letting it continue walling things threats.

Meloetta is diverse in the amount number of options it possesses. Meloetta It can run a fully defensive set with Recover and Glare, which can be fairly useful. Another alternative is running a Calm Mind set, however it but such a set can be rather ineffective because it is generally outclassed by other special attackers. Alternatively, running Judgment and either Flame Plate, Fist Plate, (AC) or Earth Plate on the wallbreaker and sweeper Meloetta sets is an option, (AC) as they offer more reliable and powerful coverage; (SC) however, (AC) the use of using the item slot on the Plate can be disappointing, (AC) as it weakens every doesn't boost any other move. Other coverage options such as Energy Ball, Shadow Ball, (AC) and Thunderbolt are all relatively viable and can lure things in remove threats such as Suicune, Jirachi, (AC) and Skarmory, although they don't cover anything notable and are very team specific. (remove hyphen) Meloetta can use a WishPass set with Wish, Protect, Baton Pass, (AC) and filler. (tad less casual thanks) This is usually unadvised due to other Pokemon outclassing it in this department. Meloetta-Pirouette Using Meloetta-P is also another option, as Meloetta increases its Speed tier in Pirouette form and can abuse take advantage of Extreme Speed. Pirouette Meloetta-P isn't that viable, (AC) though, (AC) because it has to spend a turn using Relic Song to transform and once it does it can't switch out or it has to do it again if it ends up switching out, (clarity, assuming I understood it properly) as well as in addition to Relic Song wasting a moveslot.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Sableye**: Due to its Dark / (space)Ghost typing, it Sableye is immune to both of Meloetta's (apostrophe) STAB types. It is also immune to Meloetta's (apostrophe) most common coverage option, Focus Blast. If Meloetta opts to not to run Dazzling Gleam, Sableye walls it. If that isn't enough, Sableye can end Meloetta's sweep with Topsy-Turvy and turn it into set-up setup bait.

**Offensive Dark-types and Pursuit**: Meloetta has mediocre physical bulk, and any physical Dark Pokemon such as Weavile and or Tyranitar gives Meloetta a lot of trouble. In particular, Bisharp is one of Meloetta's biggest problems as well. It because it resists or is immune to both of Meloetta's STAB types (RC) and always runs Sucker Punch. In particular, Meloetta is prone vulnerable to being Pursuit trapped (RC, remove hyphen) due to it’s its lackluster physical bulk and weakness to Dark-type attacks. Some common Pursuit users are Tyranitar and Weavile; (SC) however, (AC) because this is STABmons, (AC) any Dark-type Pokemon could potentially have it.

**Bulky Steel-types**: Bulky Steel-types such as Scizor or and Jirachi give Meloetta a lot of trouble, because they resist both STAB options as well as not caring and don't care much about Focus Blast. Unless Meloetta is running Shadow Ball, they will force Meloetta out. (weirdly worded cause Scizor cares less about SB than about FB)

**Revenge Killers**: Meloetta is very prone vulnerable to being revenge KO'd, killed due to its mediocre Speed and lack of priority moves. Some common examples are Stoutland and Weavile.

Thank u sexy, implemented! I hope I don't have the worst grammar you've seen x_x

Offensively, Meloetta gains an
amazing, very spammable (pick one) move in Boomburst. This is aided by Meloetta's solid Special Attack, which allows it to be one of the best special attackers in the metagame. In addition, Meloetta also has very good special bulk, allowing it to tank lots of hits. Unfortunately, Meloetta is held back by its poor Speed tier combined with its near-useless ability. It also has an underlying weakness to Pursuit trapping (if you're talking about actual Pursuit trappers, keep "trapping" and replace weakness with vulnerability) and the more common Knock Off. Lastly, Meloetta doesn't have a very good STAB combination, so it often relies on coverage moves.

Moves
========

Boomburst is an incredibly spammable STAB move
, (RC) with 140 Base Power, 100% accuracy, and no downsides whatsoever. Hidden Power Fire can be used to hit Scizor in particular, (remove extra space)as well as provide a more reliable attack for hit on Ferrothorn. Trick is worth noting as well, because as it can be used with Choice Specs to cripple walls such as Chansey and Porygon2.

Set Details
========

The EVs are set to maximize
Meloetta's power and bulk, with enough Speed EVs invested to outspeed Tyranitar. Choice Specs is the ideal option to make Meloetta hit as hard as possible while not dwindling whittling down its HP, as Meloetta has no form of recovery. Life Orb is another viable option, (RC) that boosts the power of all of Meloetta's moves without locking it into a move. Meloetta has uses a Modest nature for maximum power.

Usage Tips
========

Meloetta should be used to break down defensive cores because of its overwhelming wallbreaking potential. When in doubt, spam Boomburst
, as no Pokemon. Nothing wants to take a neutral Boomburst. Make sure to not switch Meloetta into physical attacks and especially a potential Knock Off, as Meloetta's physical bulk is rather poor and it is a very item-reliant Pokemon. In general, be careful bringing Meloetta out if the opponent has Tyranitar or Weavile, because as they can Pursuit trap it, potentially KOing it. Following that, if Meloetta has Choice Specs, try to avoid using Psystrike when until Dark-types such as Tyranitar and Weavile are still alive have been KOed (I don't know what the correct word is to describe a Pokemon that has not yet fainted, though I'm fairly sure it's not "alive." Because of this, I changed the wording of the sentence while still retaining its original meaning.).

Team Options
========

Wallbreaker Meloetta functions very well with on teams that have trouble dealing with defensive cores, (RC) because it dismantles bulky builds. Setup sweepers such as Porygon-Z and Scizor appreciate Meloetta's on their team for its ability to beat most walls, including Unaware Clefable and Quagsire. Fire-type Pokemon such as Mega Charizard X and Talonflame can are excellent teammates for Meloetta because they beat the Steel-types that Meloetta can have trouble with, particularly Bronzong and Bug/Steel-type Pokemon (most notably Scizor and Forretress) unless Meloetta runs Flame Plate (you didn't mention this until OO, so it doesn't fit here). Some options are Mega Charizard X and Talonflame. Entry hazard setters work very well with Meloetta because they make it even harder to switch in on Meloetta. As Meloetta is vulnerable to Dark-type moves, especially Knock Off, Pokemon that resist Dark and, specifically, Knock Off absorbers are good team options as well, because they can deal with Meloetta's weakness to them. Some good examples are Whimsicott and Terrakion.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Shell Smash is a powerful setup move that patches up Meloetta's low Speed and raises its Special Attack to an absurdly high level, turning Meloetta into a potent sweeper. Psyshock
(are you not allowed to run Shell Smash and Psystrike together?) is a powerful STAB move that allows Meloetta to hit specially defensive tanks hard, while Hyper Voice is an alternate STAB option (You should probably state some specific differences between the two).

Set Details
========

The EVs are set to maximize power and
speed Speed and guarantee that Meloetta survives an Adamant Silk Scarf Ursaring's Fake Out + Extreme Speed from full health with White Herb no Defense drops, the strongest priority attacker that might attempt to revenge kill Meloetta. White Herb is used in conjunction with Shell Smash, as it removes the Defense and Special Defense drops and makes Meloetta more difficult to revenge kill. Life Orb is also an option to increase the power of Meloetta's attacks in general. Basically, White Herb gives Meloetta more bulk and Life Orb gives Meloetta more power. When using Life Orb, an EV spread of 68 HP / 252 SpA / 188 Spe is preferred, should be used because the extra bulk isn't needed without White Herb and it's preferable to go for the maximum possible most power possible. A Modest nature is preferable to Timid, (RC) because the extra Speed doesn't allow Meloetta to outspeed anything notable at +2, (AC) and the extra power Modest provides is appreciated.

Usage Tips
========

Shell Smash should generally be the first move
used, but don't feel forced to use it. If Meloetta is up against a priority user, it is sometimes smarter to just take the KO with an unboosted move and save setting up for later, as;(remove semi) Meloetta can only use White Herb once. Try to remove Prankster Pokemon users such as Thundurus and Sableye before sending in Meloetta, (RC) because they can use various moves such as Thunder Wave and Topsy-Turvy to cripple it. While Meloetta is capable of stomaching tanking priority moves if absolutely needed, it is generally recommended to try removing priority-based revenge killers such as Fake Out + Extreme Speed users and Talonflame before Meloetta sweeps sets up, as they are capable of ending them its sweep. Meloetta is generally better late-game, (RC) to clean up already weakened foes. It isn't always able to outright OHKO opponents foes, so having prior damage is very useful. Directly switching Meloetta in is generally a bad idea, (RC) because it just gives the opponent foe a free damage on Meloetta attack, and Meloetta is far less effective as a sweeper with prior damage.

Team Options
========

Pokemon that
can set up Light Screen and Reflect such as Mew and Slowking are good team options, (RC) because they dual screens effectively double Meloetta's bulk and allow it to set up much more easily. Any Pokemon that can cripple the enemy foe without KOing it such as Memento Whimsicott with Memento and Parting Shot Sableye with Parting Shot are great teammates, as they allow can give Meloetta an easy opportunity to set up while also maintaining momentum. A physically bulky attacker such as Mew or Clefable is an excellent partner for Meloetta, because can they deal with Meloetta's biggest threats such as Sableye and Fake Out + Extreme Speed Braviary while being able to either cripple them with Will-oO-Wisp or Thunder Wave or simply KO them with their powerful attacks. Entry hazard controlling teammates removers such as Excadrill and Latias are appreciated, (RC) because Meloetta does not perform as well with prior damage. Conversely, entry hazard setters such as Forretress pair well with Meloetta too because they can whittle down foes and help Meloetta nab some KOs that it would not get otherwise (care to name a few?). Pokemon such as Porygon2 and Ferrothorn that can deal with Fake Out + Extreme Speed users are good team options, as Fake Out + Extreme Speed breaks Meloetta's Focus Sash and (this set doesn't use Sash) can threaten to KO it Meloetta if Meloetta it is weakened.

Moves
========

Set Details
========

Meloetta has excellent natural bulk, and Assault Vest allows it to switch into many special attackers such as Gengar and Mega Manectric. Enough Speed is invested to outspeed Tyranitar,
while full Special Attack investment and a Modest nature maximizes Meloetta's damage output. The and the rest remaining EVs are put into HP for maximum bulk.(period), along with a Modest nature to get the most possible power out of Meloetta. Boomburst can still hit hard without a boosting item thanks to its high Base Power. Alternatively, you can opt for 252 Special Defense EVs and a Calm nature rather than Modest and 252 Special Attack if you would prefer a bulkier and weaker Meloetta desire bulk over attack power.

Usage Tips
========

Meloetta has insanely good special bulk and can switch into just about any special attack bar Dark-type attacks comfortably. When in doubt, spam Boomburst because it
is an incredibly good move and will hit just about anything hard bar Pokemon that resist it; even when uninvested, (AC) it will 2HKO a large majority of threats. However, Sableye nearly always will nearly always switch into Meloetta, so don't be afraid to click Dazzling Gleam if Meloetta is running it and Sableye is still alive healthy. Rapid Spin is easy to use assuming they don't opponent doesn't have Sableye, because as people won't be expecting it. It's important to keep entry hazards off the field when using Assault Vest Meloetta because of how prone it is to getting worn down coupled with Meloetta's lack of recovery. If you predict your opponent will switch Pokemon but aren't sure to what they'll send in, U-turn is a great option. A slow U-turn allows Meloetta to absorb the hit if they do decide to foe attacks and allows you to send in whatever puts you in the best position.

Team Options
========

Physical tanks such as Ferrothorn
work great with Meloetta because they can absorb physical hits, (AC) while Meloetta can take all of the special ones in return. Pokemon with Will-O-Wisp, and burn-spreading (add hyphen) Pokemon such as Sableye also help Meloetta, as they cripple by crippling physical attackers. Entry hazard removers such as Excadrill and Latias are good options because Meloetta is very prone to getting worn down and entry hazards expedite the process. Charizard (which one?) is a good option, s it can deal with Steel-types, (AC) which otherwise annoy Meloetta, while Meloetta can remove hazards Stealth Rock in return. Knock Off absorbers such as Terrakion are good partners due to Meloetta's weakness to it the move. Wish passers such as Chansey and Clefable are good team options because they help preserve Meloetta's longevity, letting it continue walling threats.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Meloetta
is diverse in the number of options it possesses. It can run a fully defensive set with Recover and Glare, which can be fairly useful (at what?). Another alternative is running a Calm Mind set can be used, but such a set can be rather ineffective because it is generally outclassed by other special attackers (such as?). Alternatively, running Judgment and either Flame Plate, Fist Plate, or Earth Plate on the wallbreaker and sweeper Meloetta sets is an option, as they offer more reliable and powerful coverage; however, using the item slot on the Plate can be disappointing, as it doesn't boost any other moves. Other coverage options such as Energy Ball, Shadow Ball, and Thunderbolt are all relatively viable and can remove threats such as Suicune, Jirachi, and Skarmory, although they don't cover anything notable and are very team specific. Meloetta can use a WishPass set with Wish, Protect, Baton Pass, and Hyper Voice/ or Psyshock, but this. This is usually unadvised due to other Pokemon outclassing it in this department (such as?). Using Meloetta-P is also another option, as Meloetta increases its has higher Speed tier in its Pirouette forme and can take advantage of Extreme Speed. Meloetta-P isn't that viable, though, because as it has to spend a turn using Relic Song to transform and (remove extra space)has to do it again if it ends up switching out, in addition to Relic Song wasting a moveslot.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Sableye**: Due to its Dark / Ghost typing, Sableye is immune to both of Meloetta's
(remove extra space)STAB types. It is also immune to Meloetta's most common coverage option, Focus Blast. If Meloetta opts not to run Dazzling Gleam, Sableye walls it. If that isn't enough, Sableye can end Meloetta's sweep with Topsy-Turvy and turn it into setup bait.

Quick, implement the second GP check so unfixanerd can upload his first analysis! :v4:
I did implement everything u qts, but I had an issue with like 1 part and I pm'd Snobalt about it, who hasn't got online yet. the issue:

This is marked to be deleted, and imo pursuit trapping is worth specific mention. D::::

o and btw
(are you not allowed to run Shell Smash and Psystrike together?)
naw, there was recently a rule update to stabmons that only lets you use EITHER status or offensive moves that you don't naturally learn. the goal was to balance the meta, and it really nerfed scizor (who is still good) for example who used to use shift gear + gear grind

o3o

EDIT: all sorted out, done!
