Arena: Charicific Valley

Deep within the cliffs in southern Johto lies the ancient Charicific Valley. Once just a sanctuary for Charizard this oasis found new life when its inhabitants discovered their Mega Evolutions. The long dormant volcano which engulfs the valley found new life and while eruptions are infrequent the heat is intense. These new conditions allowed the Charizard to reach their full potential as Dragons and this encouraged other Dragon's alike to train themselves in the valley. Now it acts as a haven for all draconic Pokemon, while others find the conditions harsh and near inhospitable.

Throughout the valley one might find rocks, water, grass and anything else that might be useful in a Pokemon battle. However the surrounding volcano produces an Intense Heat which covers the entire region and lasts infinitely. Intense Heat provides almost the same conditions as Sunlight however instead of reducing the power of Water moves it is Ice types which find it hard to prosper here. Their attacks will suffer from a reduction in power while Water attack are unaffected. The constant heat also makes it impossible for Pokemon to be frozen. Other weather conditions such a Sandstorm, Rain and Hail may be called in addition to Intense Heat and will have a four round duration, however Rain and Hail will require the respective weather rock to do so. Any use of the move Sunny Day of the Cloud Nine command will revert the weather back to solely Intense Heat.

Almost as prevalent as the Volcano within the valley is the gigantic Charizard statue underneath which battles are contested. The statue of such an ancient and majestic beast imbues a strong sense of pride in not only Charizard but all Pokemon who stand under it. As a result they will stand staunchly to defend it and cannot be forced to give up their ground. No Pokemon in the arena may be forced out so phazing moves have no effect. Roar and Whirlwind will fail entirely while Dragon Tail and Circle Throw will only deal damage. The item Red Card likewise has no effect. U-Turn, Volt Switch and Parting Shot may still be used as normal.

Finally, given it was Mega Evolution that gave the valley its newfound draconic power it is only natural that Charizard and other Pokemon which gain the Dragon typing through Mega Evolution find it easier to do so here. Any Pokemon with such traits may be brought by the Leader, and the Pokemon will be considered Mega Evolved in their Pokeball prior to send out. Battlers may bring two Mega Evolutions throughout the match and as battles are fought with two abilities trainers must specify which of their Pokemon's active abilities are to be replaced upon Mega Evolution if applicable.

Summary
  • The weather is Intense Heat with an infinite duration. Intense Heat acts as Sun but reduces the BAP of Ice typed attacks by 3 and has no effect on the BAP of Water typed attacks. Pokemon may not be frozen while Intense Heat is in effect. Sandstorm, Rain and Hail may be summoned for 4 rounds in addition to Intense Heat, but Rain and Hail need weather rocks to do so. Sunny Day or Cloud Nine command revert the weather to solely Intense Heat. All moves and abilities treat Intense Heat exactly as Sun.
  • Pokemon cannot be forced to switch out.
  • Pokemon which gain the Dragon typing through Mega Evolution may be brought by the Leader but must equip their Mega Stone, and are considered Mega Evolved in the Pokeball.
  • Nature Power calls Lava Plume, Camouflage turns the user Fire typed and Secret Power may burn. The arena is outdoors.
  • No other moves are restricted.

Pixilate:
Type Passive
By default, this Pokemon's Normal-type moves are Fairy-type moves, and have an additional two (2) BAP boost. When toggled, this Pokemon's Normal-type attacks have their BAP increased by two (2). Only Normal-typed moves changed by Pixilate receive this boost, and not all Fairy-type moves. If a Pokemon has been skill-swapped multiple abilities that change Normal-type attacks, the attacks become dual-typed, but the BAP boosts of the abilities do not stack.

Golurk [Armstrong]
Nature:
Adamant
Type:
Ground: STAB; Immune to all electrical attacks, can Dig through almost any substance, Evasive Digging reduced from 6 per action Energy Cost to 5 per action, superior senses in darkened cave surroundings.
Ghost: STAB; brief intangibility that nullifies Normal and Fighting-type attacks. Can move through walls for a brief period of time but must remain in motion. Superior senses in low light and inside dark buildings. Have no vision reduction in hazes.

Abilities:
Iron Fist:
Type: Passive
The Base Attack Power of this Pokemon's "Punch" attacks is increased by two (2). (Known attacks affected: Bullet Punch, Comet Punch, Dizzy Punch, Drain Punch, Dynamic Punch, Fire Punch, Focus Punch, Hammer Arm, Ice Punch, Mach Punch, Mega Punch, Meteor Mash, Shadow Punch, Sky Uppercut, Thunder Punch, Power-Up Punch)
Klutz:
Type: Toggle
By default, the Pokemon moves in a rare style of battling that uses an unpredictable, clumsy looking manner. The accuracy of its attacks is increased by 10% (flat). While engaging in this style it cannot use a hold item, though an item is necessary to pull it off. When toggled, there is no effect.
No Guard (DW):
Type: Passive
This Pokemon has an immense confidence from perfecting each of its attacks, giving them all perfect accuracy. As a result, it feels it can weather every strike, and will not dodge an attack even if ordered to. Only when an OHKO move is issued by the opponent does the Pokemon sense return, and the Pokemon acts normally. Additionally, even with their extra skill, the power and exhaustion involved in using OHKO moves prevents them from being benefited by No Guard; they will have their normal accuracy.

Sunny Day and Rain Dance do not increase the damage of attacks against them, or decrease the damage of their attacks. They suffer no damage in Hail and Sandstorm. Their SolarBeam will retain its BAP in Hail, Rain Dance, and Sandstorm, while the charge is still removed under Sunny Day. Round 1!

And we are off! The leader sends out his trusted Dracor the Dragonite, while Ragnarokalex decides to pull no punches and sends out MegaAltaria the Dragon Slayer!

Or something like that. Actually a Ice/Fairy would be arguably a better dragon slayer, but there is no such a thing so oh well.

Multiscale saved the leader from much harm and he even gets a nice hax his way (not the one he wanted though). All nice and good.

With Altaria trapped in wrap and Multiscale broken, the next move is fairly predictable. Still, let's see how it pans out. We might be surprised.

DATA:

ACTION 1!

Dragonite used Iron Head! (-6en)
Crit:1
Effect:5
Damage: (8+3+2+1.5)*1.5= 21.75hp

Altaria used Hyper Voice! (-6en)
Crit:10
Damage: (9+3+2+3)*1.5*0.5= 12.75hp

ACTION 2!

Dragonite used Wrap! (-4en)
Crit:10
Damage: (4+1.5)= 5.5hp

Altaria used Ice Beam! (-7en)
Crit:9
Effect:8
Damage: (9+3-3)*2.25*0.5= 10.125hp

Round 2!

Well...if you didn't do what you just did I would truly be surprised even if I were to expect it. It would be that weird.

Same way it will be weird if the challenger doesn't do what I think he will do.

Dragalge used Acid Armor! (-7en)
+2def

Altaria used Fly! (-10en)

Sorry for the hold up.

Encore - Light Screen - Stealth Rock

IF P/E move, OR Dodge, when you would Encore, Sticky Web that action the first time, Stealth Rock the second, and Light Screen the third, pushing down each time

"This should work out well for you Contagion."

Dodge - Scald + Scald - Cool (Water Pulse)

EDIT: you need to declare abilities again. I'll let it slide since Vital Spirit being left off is pretty obvious but next time I'll ask Frosty to RNG it. (And probably add that rule to the arena)

actually none of the abilities will matter here, so I will just let ralex specify later. I will rng it next time though

Round 3!

Well not much happened here.
DATA:

ACTION 1!

Dragalge used Dodge! (-5en)
%: (10-10+(38-105)/5)= -13.4% (failed)

But it failed! (this is important, actually)

Fidgit used Sticky Web! (-10en)
webby stickyy ickyy

ACTION 2!

Fidgit used Encore! (-10en)
Dragalge was encored!
NOTE: From NDA: The target is forced to repeat the last action it successfully performed for the next two (2) of its actions. The afflicted Pokemon will not expend extra energy from consecutive attacks while Encore is in effect. Encore fails when used on a target whose Encore ended on the previous action or whose last successful action was Bodyblock, Chill, Dodge.

Since Dodge failed, it wasn't a successful action. Last successful action was Sludge Wave, which can be encored into just fine.

Dragalge used Sludge Wave! (-6en)
Crit: 7 (no)
Damage: (10+5+3-2)*0.44= 7hp

ACTION 3!

Fidgit used Light Screen! (-10en)

Dragalge used Sludge Wave! (-6en)
Crit: 3 (no)
Damage: (10*0.67+5+3-2)*0.44= 5.58hp
