**Steel-types**: Steel-types can switch in on Togekiss' STABs and threaten it with STAB super-effective attacks. Additionally, many aren't weak to Aura Sphere and opt to be immune to Fire. Both Skarmory and Aegislash can threaten Togekiss quite easily.
**Chansey**: Although Chansey can be crippled badly by Togekiss' Trick, it still fully walls Togekiss and is able to status it or just kill it.
**Gengar**: Gengar resists Togekiss' main STAB, so it can attempt to switch in and decimate Togekiss with its extremely strong STAB Sludge Wave on it.
**Fire-types**: Togekiss can't hurt most Fire-types too well and they generally have strong attacks to hit it with. Entei is the most notable Fire-type, which can come in and revenge kill Togekiss with a Refrigerate Extreme Speed.
**Electric-types**: Although Electric-types STABs' are weakened by Roost and Delta Stream, Pokemon like Raikou and Zapdos can easily switch in on most Togekiss' sets and force it to recover while they Volt Switch out to get something in safely.
- Good and unique Fairy/Flying typing, causing it to be immune or resistant to popular types like Fighting, Ground and Dark.
- Good Special Attack and movepool, including Nasty Plot, allowing it to become a decent wallbreaker. Coverage moves like Aura Sphere and Fire Blast stand out specifically.
- Good bulk in combination with its typing allows it to wall a lot of Pokemon.
- Togekiss can fulfill a wide variety of roles, causing it to be fairly unpredictable.
- Mediocre speed.
- Weak to Stealth Rock.

Moves
========
- Hyper Voice is the main spammable move on the set. It's a very powerful move after Pixilate and allows Togekiss to break most of its opponents.
- Aura Sphere is the main coverage on the sit. Fighting has good coverage with Fairy, hitting the common Steel-types. The only type they don't hit neutrally together is the very rare Poison type.
- The third slot is up for a lot of moves. Baton Pass is good to get momentum when you expect something you can't beat to switch in, and so you won't get locked in an unfavorable move.
- Fire Blast can be run for Steel-types like Skarmory which aren't hit super-effectively by Aura Sphere, however Aura Sphere is generally better, since many of Fire Blast's targets will run Flash Fire or Primordial Sea.
- Air Slash can be used for a secondary STAB, however its usually not too useful due to Hyper Voice outclassing it usually.
- Trick is a great move on Togekiss, allowing it to cripple Pokemon it can't break, like Chansey.
Set Details
========
- Choice Specs is the preferred item on Togekiss as it allows it to hit as hard as possible, while it doesn't mind the inability to switch moves too much, as its main STAB is extremely spammable.
- Pixilate increases Hyper Voice power dramatically and grants it the Fairy-type, making it STAB for Togekiss. Because of this, it's the best ability for this set.
- Modest is used as it maximizes Togekiss' damage output, and Togekiss doesn't mind the speed loss from Timid too much as there aren't a lot of notable things that it wants to outspeed.
- The EVs, again, maximize Togekiss' Special Attack. It has 44 Speed EVs to outspeed standard Suicune, so it can damage it with Hyper Voice before it gets the Special Defense boost. The rest is put into HP for its general bulk, with 4 being put into Defense, to hit an HP number.
Usage Tips
========
- Generally Hyper Voice is the best move to use if you're unsure. It's a very strong move, and allows you to one, or two hit KO most Pokemon.
- Trick should be used against stallier teams. Pokemon like Chansey and Steel-types will often try to switch in on you, allowing you to handily cripple them.
- Baton Pass is best used versus offensive teams, when they have a Hyper Voice resist and you can't afford to give them a free turn.
- Togekiss is used best on balanced teams, but it also works on offensive teams. Generally it is a good Pokemon to have to wallbreak, while also being able to switch in on various attacks.
- Togekiss has great resists, but its advised not to switch it in too recklessly if the opponent has a move to KO you with, especially if you need it to break certain walls. Mostly, this is because if you are able to switch in safely, you put a lot of pressure on the opponent trying to switch in, so losing it to a mispredict is annoying.
Team Options
========
- As Togekiss is good at breaking walls, it is a good combination with sweepers that enjoy this support. Especially special sweepers like Manaphy or Thundurus enjoy this support, as Togekiss can cripple Pokemon like Chansey and Goodra for them.
- Togekiss needs support to switch in on Fairy resists, notably Genesect and Entei. Both of them can switch in and threaten, resisting Togekiss' main STAB move. Afterwards they can use Refrigerate Extreme Speed, or a STAB move to KO Togekiss. Pokemon like Skarmory and Victini can be good for this.
- Although few things can switch in on Togekiss well, and it has decent bulk, STAB SE hits will generally KO it when they get a free switch after something dies. It's a good idea to have resists to these types, so you can pivot Togekiss out. A Volt Absorb, Motor Drive or Ground-type is a good idea to stop Electric-types from Volt Switching.
- Togekiss appreciates hazard removal, as it is weak to Stealth Rock. Starmie and Zapdos are good options.

Moves
========
- Air Slash is Togekiss' strongest Flying-type STAB and gets priority from Gale Wings. This allows Togekiss to revenge kill weak Pokemon and threaten Pokemon that attempt to revenge kill it.
- Nasty Plot is the main move of the set and raises Togekiss' Special Attack by two stages. This allows it to become increasingly threatening and harder to revenge kill.
- Roost is a recovery move, which also gets priority because of Gale Wings, allowing it to recover damage before it can be hit.
- Baton Pass is a great move to pass the Nasty Plot boosts Togekiss has obtained when it faces a Pokemon it can't beat.
Set Details
========
- Leftovers is used to give Togekiss passive recovery, slowly recovering its health if it gets a free turn, and generally allowing it to stick around longer.
- Gale Wings is used as it makes Togekiss harder to revenge kill after it sets up, and allows it to use priority Roost to recover damage quickly. Additionally, it causes Togekiss to become a decent revenge-killer with STAB priority Air Slash.
- The nature and EVs allow Togekiss to survive a hit from Choice Band Refrigerate Entei's Extreme Speed, so that it can Baton Pass any boosts in a pinch. It also allows it to OHKO Lucario with Air Slash at +2 Special Attack after Stealth Rock. The rest of the EVs are put into Special Defense so it can set up on special attackers better. The Calm nature is for the same reason, as it increases its Special Defense, while reducing its useless Attack stat.
Usage Tips
========
- Togekiss can often switch in on Pokemon which STABs it resists. The bulk invested will make cause them to usually be unable to hurt you badly. Additionally, you can easily recover off the damage with priority Roost.
- Even if you don't switch in, it'll deter them from using STAB moves.
- When you get a free turn and don't need to recover, it's usually best to use Nasty Plot over Air Slash. Air Slash is quite weak unboosted, and Nasty Plot will allow you to hit whatever switches in with more power and allows you to pass to something else to make it more threatening.
- Against stall teams, Togekiss can usually set up to +4 or +6 and then pass it to something stronger, usually allowing you to damage their team badly. If possible, try to go to something which is able to beat their Unaware user.
- Against more offensive teams, Togekiss can often work well on its own. Between a good STAB priority move, and the threat that it can boost further, the team will be pressured already.
- Baton Pass can be used well to gain momentum early- or midgame. If the opponent switches in something that can beat you, you can use Baton Pass to bring something in which can beat it.
- Due its relatively slow Baton Pass, Togekiss can often bring in threats safely. Don't be afraid to let Togekiss be damaged if that allows you to let a sweeper set up. Usually, the immediate pressure is worth it, and Togekiss is more passive and can heal back up anyway.
- Try to avoid Burn and Poison, Togekiss needs its bulk to be able to set up, and the residual damage can quickly cause Pokemon to be able to KO it.
Team Options
========
- Togekiss is rather passive, and allows a lot of threatening Pokemon to switch in. While this is hindered a bit by Gale Wings Air Slash, make sure you have threatening Pokemon Togekiss can pass its boosts to. Strong specially-based Pokemon are good options, like Gengar or Heatran.
- Togekiss hates Refrigerate Extreme Speed. It can revenge it before it can Roost to remove the weakness, so its advised that you have a Pokemon which can punish users of it. Again, Heatran is a good option.
- If you need Togekiss to support your team versus stall specifically, try using a special attacker with Mold Breaker, like to beat Unaware Pokemon. This can be pretty much any Special Attacker that fits on your team, as you can just pass the Special Attack boosts to it.
- Steel-types are troubling for Togekiss, as they always hit it super-effectively and it can't hit them neutrally. It appreciates Magnet Pull support from Pokemon like Rotom-W so that it can do its job better.
- As Baton Pass has the potential to force a lot of switches, hazard support is appreciated. Togekiss also likes to have Stealth Rock removed from the field, due to its weakness to them.
- A good teammate for Togekiss is Latios. It can support Togekiss with Defog and also enjoys Togekiss for its Dark- and Bug-resistance, in addition to possible Special Attack boosts.

Moves
========
- Roost is simply used for recovery. It allows Togekiss to stick around longer and wall threats throughout the match.
- Heal Bell is used for team support and cures Togekiss' of any status inflicted as well.
- Thunder Wave is used to hinder offensive teams, which hate having their speed cut.
- Baton Pass can be used to get free momentum, and allows Togekiss to get teammates in freely.
- Defog can be used if you need hazard removal, but Togekiss is weak to Stealth Rock so it'll put it under a lot of pressure.
- Dazzling Gleam is a reliable STAB moves and is used to get a bit of damage on your opponents when you get a free turn.
- Seismic Toss always does the same damage, excluding Ghost-types, so its a very reliable attack for steady damage.
Set Details
========
- Leftovers gives you passive recovery. Allowing you to be worn down less easily and recover a bit of HP when you get a free turn.
- Delta Stream is the preferred ability for Togekiss as it gives it only Steel and Poison Weaknesses, allowing it to wall more Pokemon and be less vulnerable to being lured.
- Volt Absorb can be used as well to completely block your Electric weakness and absorb Volt Switch to take a lot of momentum from the opponent.
- Calm nature is used to maximize Togekiss' special bulk.
- The EVs maximize Togekiss' special bulk as well. Because Pokemon generally hit hard in AAA, it needs the investment to survive versus many things it wants to wall, while most physical Pokemon either can't handle it at all, or beat it with or without investment.
Usage Tips
========
- This Togekiss' is best used on Semi-Stall or balanced teams teams. Its not bulky enough to be used on full stall, while on offensive it takes away too much momentum. Especially on balance, it's important to make good use out of Baton Pass.
- Against offensive teams, try to stay healthy when you switch out. If Togekiss isn't at high health, most offensive Pokemon will be able to break through it after Stealth Rock damage.
- Against stall teams, try to preserve Heal Bell PP. Although it's critical for a stall team to stay healthy, postpone using it if possible. Heal Bell only has 8 PP, so its vulnerable to being stalled out. At that point, your team will be extremely vulnerable.
- If Togekiss gets a free move versus anything, Encore is good to use, especially when it sets up. When a Pokemon is encored into a move, it is way easier to handle as you know what attack it will use and play as such.
- Encore is also a great move to help your win condition set up freely on a status move or a resisted one.
- If possible, don't use Defog on Togekiss and instead use another Pokemon for Defog support. Due to Togekiss' Rock weakness and inability to take many stronger hits afterwards, it should only be used as a Defog user when you don't have any other choice.
- Try to pivot as much as possible if something can potentially hit Togekiss super effectively. It's often important that it survives for Heal Bell support, and as such you shouldn't risk losing it unless you know you need it to win.
- If using Togekiss with a Poison Heal user, make sure that you realize that curing its poison will mean no more passive recovery if its Toxic Orb has been knocked off.
Team Options
========
- Togekiss appreciates another Defog user. While it can use the move, it is weak to Stealth Rock and as such doesn't make an amazing user of the move. Scizor and Zapdos are good users of the move, which can also fit on the same playstyle.
- Using an Unaware user with Togekiss is good, as Togekiss can't take boosted hits that well and if you can't kill something when Encore stopped locking it, it may sweep your team otherwise. Good Unaware users include Suicune and Chansey.
- Togekiss needs a Pokemon that can switch into Steel-types on its party. Steel-types do this fairly well, such as Skarmory, Doublade and Scizor.
- Gengar easily demolishes this Togekiss set, not minding any of its moves particularly. As its a huge threat to the archetypes that would use this set, a good counter is necessary. The aforementioned Chansey and Bulletproof Poison resists as Doublade do a good job at this.
- Pokemon like Goodra and Chansey appreciate Togekiss' presence on a team, as it discourages the Dragon- and Fighting-type moves they hate respectively.
- Togekiss needs a physically defensive Pokemon like Skarmory or Hippowdon on its team to cover its weaker physical defense.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
- Choice Scarf with either Pixilate, Adaptability or Sheer Force can be used.
- Prankster can be used to get a viable support set with moves like Baton Pass and Encore.
- Poison Heal can be used, as Togekiss enjoys the residual recovery and status immunity with a defensive set.
- An All-Out-Attacker set with Life Orb could be used.
- Magic Coat is an option to stop status.
- Tailwind is viable for support to offensive teams, it even gets priority with Gale Wings.
- Tri Attack can be used over Hyper Voice for the status chance, but it is weaker and can't hit through subs.
- A Choice Band set with Pixilate can be run to abuse STAB Extreme Speed, although it's extremely weak.
Checks and Counters
