Electric, Water

It had always been interesting, the way in which Gyms come and go. Indeed, it was only 10 years ago when it would've been odd for anyone to consider Castelia City hosting the Electric Gym, but it was now. The HMS Tesla stands proudly in the port, although it normally sails a mile away from the port for the purpose of battles. The ship is a fairly standard ship, from the Falklands era. It has been fitted to accommodate battles, and notably on the main deck you can see what appears to be a giant crown - 4 golden arches curve around to support a giant gemstone above the deck.

Entering the ship, you immediately enter what appears to be a relatively fancy restaurant, quite busy. Looking around, there appears to be a window viewing the arena directly, as well as several plasma screens showing the currently empty arena. As you look around, you're greeted by a man in yellow and black attire.

"Hello there, welcome aboard the HMS Tesla. Are you here for the restaurant or the gym? The Gym? Well, this is special, the guests tonight will get a lovely show. We'll probably be ready to battle in about half an hour or so, so until then feel free to sit down and order a coffee."

Indeed, the ship does get rather full, and as the sun sets the ship begins to move out to sea. As you finish your coffee, the man returns - at this stage, you're fairly certain this is the gym leader. You're beckoned outside, and see the arena is stationed below the crown shape. However, you can't take in the beauty before the leader speaks again...

"Emolga, give us some light will ya!"

An Emolga pops out of the leader's Pokéball, and sends a small shot of lighting at the gem in the centre of the crown. It absorbs the electricity and lights up, revealing itself to actually be a giant ThunderStone. Impressive... although, you're surprised to see that the gem seems to be surrounded by some strange contraption hastily thrown together.

"Heh, I know what you're thinkin'. Used to be a lot more noticable, but it suddenly started throwing very powerful sparks out at random, and because we do value our guests, we've surrounded it for safety. Apart from that, we do request that your Pokémon disable their Illusion and Protean ability, since the guests have reported headaches trying to follow that. We also negate ability immunities unless it is part of that Pokémon itself - that would be the slight tingle you feel when you walk into the arena. Oh, and as per usual...."

The leader snaps his fingers at this point, and you feel drops of rain begin to fall. ".... yep, it's raining. Well, sort of. It's been a bit lighter lately, but still, we do suggest that you go fetch a brolly from inside."

Effects:
  • During "Clear" weather, the effect of Rain occurs, with no increase or decrease in any move BAP.
  • Illusion and Protean do not function.
  • Abilities which provide an immunity to certain moves (Volt Absorb, Bulletproof, etc.) only function on Pokémon who naturally have said ability.

Codifications:
  • Secret Power can Paralyze
  • Nature Power calls Discharge
  • Arena is outside, Moonlight and Morning Sun both work at the same power level
  • Camouflage makes the user an Electric-Type
  • All moves have access to any external material needed and can hence be used.
  • Krilowatt usually has Shell Armour. This is a hint to STOP ROLLING CRITS ON IT SHOULD THAT BE THE CASE.

ZhengTann
Gardevoir - Lucy (F)

Born without a family in the wild, Lucy’s life has been fraught with peril of being hunted and bullied by most other wild, stronger Pokemon. One such incident left her under severe shock from poison by an unknown aggressive Poison-type. Had a human not happened by, she would’ve died or at best, crippled for life. Luckily, Zheng was the second person to found her, called by a fellow trainer who was looking for mushrooms in that region. Together they saved the Ralts, and after a brief discussion Zheng named her Lucy and brought her into his family. Gray was the first to be able to contact directly with her, but it was through efforts and enthusiasm of the whole gang that brought her out of trauma and into life again.

Despite her growing strength, Lucy still has much distaste for open, direct conflict - hence she is very much like Wendy in that regard, learning the arts of healing and support, using direct attacks as distraction rather than full-on assault. Despite that, she gets on quite well with most of the brawling boys - they respect her decision, and will not hesitate to take her side against any foes who dared to so much as insult her. In turn, Lucy is the logical voice of the whole family - her ideas always astute outside of battle, with her innate mental capabilities only enhance her charms and perception.

Lucy likes to spend most of her time penning her thoughts into words, giving herself clarity on her own emotions. Confident in her appeal and skills, she sometimes still has her doubtful moments, but learning to calm her inner storms is something Zheng taught her to do diligently, and she always falls back to that in any situation.

The discovery of Gardevoirite trade intrigued Zheng, and when Lucy came in contact with it, she seemed to be in a far tranquil state of mind. Such was here power with the Mega Stone that the whole monastery and even nearby areas are shrouded in an aura of peace and compassion. Taking care not to affect the lives of others, Zheng had since been cautious in allowing Lucy to come in full contact with the Stone, unless the battle demands for the release of her powers.

Rias Gremory, "Princess of Crimson Ruin" - Tyrantrum (F)

Rias is born to a rare family - one in which both her parents were present to take care of her. Before her, they already had a son - who grew up, evolved, and went away to stake his own territory. Being the younger "princess", Rias enjoyed all the privileges - and hardships - that her life as a future empress has to offer, before a cataclysm caused the death of herself and her whole family millions of years before the time of humans.

Being resurrected by Zheng, she is given to and named by Tanner as her Trainer, who somehow also hold another Jaw Fossil that can't be revived - probably because the piece held remnants of both her parents. It is rumoured that Rias' brother walks the earth again this same era that she does, however Rias does not know where to find him.

Evolving into her grown form, Rias still continues the search for her brother. And then she met Issei, then a young Charmander who knew nothing much about the world except the fire in his belly.... Who is just one of her "peerage" of Pokemons, each with stories of their own. She decides that it is high time she declared herself King, and she readies herself for the challenges of her very own monarchy by training relentlessly.

Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SpAtk) - caring but stern

Type:
Rock type: Rock STAB; Rias is fast on her mind to add an additional level of Priority on Protect. She also takes reduced damage from all special attacks by two (2) Base Attack Power during Sandstorm, and is immune to Sandstorm damage. Her natural magic can mold and build rocks, ignoring Arena restrictions on Rock attacks requiring an external rock source.
Dragon type: Dragon STAB; -1 BAP on incoming neutral attacks Dragon itself would resist. Her powerful will allows Thrash or Outrage to be undisrupted by oncoming damage.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Strong Jaw
Type: Passive
Rias' thick fang and massive jaws give her incredibly powerful biting attacks, increasing the BAP of all biting attacks by three (3) BAP. Full List: Bite, Crunch, Fire Fang, Ice Fang, Poison Fang, Thunder Fang.

Ability 2: Rock Head (Unlocked)
Type: Passive
Rias' body and willpower fortifies herself in battle, preventing it from taking recoil damage from moves such as Double-Edge, Flare Blitz, and Head Smash.

Yuuto Kiba, "Holy Demonic Swordsman" - Gallade (M)

A Ralts whose friends have been swept away by an unnatural rainstorm, Yuuto is the only survivor - saved by Rias. Captured by Tanner, he is originally unwilling to be forced into Rias' peerage, but Erza, Zheng's Stratagem, is the first to give him a channel for his purpose - the art of sword-fighting and the ways to become stronger. He follows after Erza as a pupil after a mentor, learning how to fight with both mind and blade, while staying beside Rias for another shot at a new life. Still, he cannot forget his past - how a Tornadus and a Thundurus had destroyed his friends and home.

He is pretty much the male counterpart to Akeno, a gentlemanly Knight who only draws his blades when provoked. Issei's arrival finally meant he has another male to spar and talk with, and despite their differences, they befriended each other with a common oath to always protect the females in Rias' peerage.

Nature: Impish (+Def, -SpAtk) - sparklingly charming and polite, but devoted inside

Type:
Psychic type: Psychic STAB; Yuuto's determination means he can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank.
Fighting type: Fighting STAB: Yuuto's techniques allow him to ignore weight restrictions on Circle Throw, Seismic Toss, Sky Drop, Storm Throw, Submission, and Vital Throw.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Steadfast
Type: Passive
If Yuuto is out-flinched, he puts on a burst of extra Speed by one (1) stage, maintained at the end of each round.

Ability 2: Justified (Unlocked)
Type: Trigger
Yuuto's holy demonic swords react to dark energy, invigorating their honed edges. When hit by a Dark-type move, Yuuto's attack will increase by one (1) stage, maintained at the end of each round.

Ability 3: Inner Focus (Mega-Evo only)
Type: Passive
When an opponent attempts to flinch Yuuto, he would parry the flinching effects and continue his attacks. If Steadfast is also present, it activates.

.... Since when did Thunder Stone and Electirizer got buffed so much?

"I've always loved a grand cruise - except when we had to battle. Again."

"I am so sorry Lucy, I promise I will treat you to sauna next week. Let's just- just keep this between us, okay?"
Lucy (Gardevoir w/ Rare Candy): [Trace SF-Electivire's Motor Drive] Dazzling Gleam > Draining Kiss (Murena-Eelektross) > Dazzling Gleam
IF SF-Electivire used Bide A1, THEN replace all instances of Dazzling Gleam with Moonblast @ Murena-Eelektross instead.

Yo, yo, YO! Welcome peepz to the HMS Tesla, where a boat is home of the Electric Gym. according to our lovely Luvdisc, our Gym Leader, Dogfish sends out Murena the Eelektross, wielding her Thunder Stone and
Short Fuse, grabbing onto his Electirizer very tightly. Challenger Zt responds by sending out Lucy the Gardevoir eating everyone's favorite Rare Candy and Yuuto Kiba the Gallade wearing a Dawn Stone around his neck. With introductions out of the way let's start this round already!

Short Fuse casts out a net and Yuuto and Lucy are caught within. They're then electrocuted until the web disintegrates, how shocking. Lucy sends out a wave of glimmer and shine, bedazzling her opponents with by bringing them pain and suffering. Yuuto just headbutt Murena....that's about it. Murena wiggles her way towards Lucy and spits acid onto Lucy, she's definitely going to want to go to that sauna when this battle is over.
Short Fuse continues casting out wide electrified nets like a fishermen catching fishes. Lucy hears her trainer order Draining Kiss and looks at Murena. She then turns towards trainer and with a "really?" face, seeming not wanting to do it. Her trainer tried to bribe her with more gifts and it took a long minute for her to finally be persuaded to kiss the Eelektross. Yuuto jumps up and slams down onto the surface, causing the whole boat to shake, and now I'm getting sea sick >.<. Murena sprays some more toxins onto the Gardevoir, I don't know if that's her way of saying thanks for the kiss, or telling her to never do it again.
Short Fuse casts out a ne- wait a minute we seen theses moves before >3>

So much damage on both sides, but Zt now has super slow Pokemon AND a Gardevoir the will die to any special attack, this isn't looking good, but at least he get's to order second!! That's a good thing right?

I am so dumb for using Trace and not reading arena rules <_< Also is the second KO sub really necessary? Like why are you beating up the dead? :(

"Why is Tanner a little nervous about keeping this from Bhante?"

"Because Tanner lost here once and was-"

"-OKAY remember to KEEP THIS BETWEEN US?"

Kiba (Gallade w/ Dawn Stone): Heal Pulse (Lucy-Gardevoir) > Rock Slide > Earthquake
IF Lucy-Gardevoir flinched A2 due to SF-Electivire's Rock Slide, THEN replace A2 with Drain Punch @ Murena-Eelektross and A3 with Shadwo Sneak @ Murena-Eelektross instead.
IF SF-Electivire is KO'ed, THEN replace that action with Drain Punch @ Murena-Eelektross instead.

Back for round 2 as both trainers decided to keep their Pokemon in and see who will be the last one standing!

Lucy braces herself and willing to endure any pain coming her way. Seeing that she's enduring, Short Fuse sends out one last Electroweb net slowing down Zt's Pokemon and Murena follows up by wrapping herself around the Gardevoir. Kiba sends out a pulse of blue energy towards Lucy, and some of her scratches and bruises faded away, Murena squeeze the Gardervoir even tighter, suffocate and crushing her.

Short Fuse summons falling boulders on top of Lucy and Kiba (and Murena too but somehow she doesn't have a scratch on her) The Eelektross fires a spray of corrosive acid towards the Ralt twins hurting them pretty badly. Gallade sends down some fall boulder as well hitting Short Fuse and Murena (and not Lucy because ig telepathy?). Lucy sucks onto Murena, draining the last bit of her life out of her and is free from her grasp.

Short Fuse shoots out a wave of dispersing electricity around him, the shock was so shocking it paralyzed Lucy! Kiba jumped up and slam down on the ground, simulating an Earthquake damaging only the Electivire. Lucy once again drains the life out of her opponent, replenishing her own.

That round didn't go too well for the Gym Leader, but he his Pokemon did leave quite of mark on both Lucy and Kiba, will he be able to switch this battle into his favor or does the Challenger already have the badge in his grasp?

Flavour later, I promise. Switch phase initiated!

Rias Gremory (Tyrantrum w/ Jaw Fossil) and Gogmagog's Right (Cradily w/ Expert Belt) coming in.

Rias Gremory (Tyrantrum w/ Jaw Fossil): Fire Fang > Head Smash > Fire Fang, all @ Pulse-Rotom
IF Pulse-Rotom is under the effects of Protective/Evasive moves, THEN replace that action with Ice Fang @ Nimbus-Cyclohm instead, pushing remaining queue back.

I have literally nothing that can stop this. So I am going to ass-pull some flavour shit. Or some mechanical shit. Or any and all kinds of shi- well, you get the point. Time to relive the not so old days when +1 Priority passed Protect is a thing.

"-This is not going to work unless I have more time."

"Final Shields protocol, activated."
Rias Gremory (Tyrantrum w/ Jaw Fossil): Rock Polish > Rock Slide > Rock Slide
IF Pulse-Rotom is KO'ed, THEN replace that action with Rock Tomb @ Nimbus-Cyclohm instead.

Gogmagog's Right (Cradily w/ Expert Belt): Barrier + Protect (pass) {Final Shields protocol: Activate!!} (Rias-Tyrantrum) > combo cooldown (Rock Slide) > Rock Slide

Quick round, sadly Barrier+Protect ally from a rock type is only -1Prio not +1, wonder what would happen if it did work? Too lazy to think, I'm going inside the boat to hide from hailing daggers.

Contesting the combo priority based on Rock STAB's description.
[20:00:23] ASBot Rock STAB; Adds an additional level of Priority (+0 to +1, +3 to +4 etc.) on naturally occurring level-up, egg, tutor, or TM attacks that increase only defense, special defense, or prevent damage (Full list: Acid Armor, Amnesia, Barrier, Defense Curl, Detect, Quick Guard, Harden, Iron Defense, Light Screen, Reflect, Skull Bash, Stockpile, Wide Guard, Withdraw). Reduced damage from all special attacks by two (2) Base Attack Power ...
[20:00:23] ASBot ... during Sandstorm, immune to Sandstorm damage. Ignores Arena restrictions on Rock attacks requiring an external rock source.

While I concur that the NDA never really specified when is the +1 Priority added, by convention- I mean off the top of my head, Barrier and co. are considered +1 Priority by default if used by Rock-types, so the combo Priority would be locked into +1+0 = +1, similar to how Priority for Quick Attack + Tackle works.

If the community admit that this is valid then I'm happy. If evidence proves that I do not have enough shit for this asspull to work then I'll sadly order on.

EDIT: Not enough shit :(

Gah! This hailstorm is too fast and blinding for me to see. How in the world does a ship deck - with a full swimming pool to boot - endures this?

As if on cue, the wind dies down a little, the roar replaced by a whirring sound not unlike mechanical contraptions being moved- wait.

"Why am I in some sort of a prison here?! Uhm, I might be able to climb out, I think-"

And then I looked up to see the "pillar" thingies extending about a dozen feet high.

"OYY! DOGFISH! I THOUGHT YOU SAID NO HARMING GUESTS ON BOARD!"
Lucy (Gardevoir w/ Rare Candy): [Trace Nimbus-Cyclohm's Overcoat] Endure > Draining Kiss (Nimbus-Cyclohm) > Wish
IF Pulse-Rotom is KO'ed, THEN replace A2 with Wish and A3 with Draining Kiss @ Nimbus-Cyclohm instead.
IF Pulse-Rotom would use Pain Split AND Lucy-Gardevoir is already under the effects of Endure, THEN replace that action with Helping Hand @ Kiba-Gallade instead.
IF Nimbus-Cyclohm is under the effects of Protective/Evasive moves when targeted by Lucy-Gardevoir, THEN replace that action with Shadow Sneak @ Pulse-Rotom instead, pushing remaining queue back.

Kiba (Gallade w/ Dawn Stone): Rock Slide > Shadow Sneak (Pulse-Rotom) > Shadow Sneak (Pulse-Rotom)
IF Pulse-Rotom would use Endure, THEN replace that action with Encore @ Pulse-Rotom, and alternate all subsequent actions with Rock Slide > Earthquake instead.
IF Pulse-Rotom would use Pain Split at Kiba-Gallade A1, THEN replace A1 with Shadow Sneak + Drain Punch {Sword Birth: Zero Shatter!!} @ Pulse-Rotom instead.
IF Pulse-Rotom is KO'ed, THEN replace all remaining actions with Earthquake instead.

Now can you literately turn this ship around? I think the daggers are about to pierce through your ship .3.
