[OVERVIEW]

**Ground**:

Garchomp has a high Attack stat along with a great base 102 Speed, allowing it to outpace base 100 Speed Pokemon such as Mega Charizard Y and Manaphy. Its Dragon / Ground typing gives it a neutrality to Water and Grass, often enabling it to tank hits from Water- and Grass-types, such as Waterfall from Mega Gyarados and Bullet Seed from Breloom, and deal a good amount of damage in return, and its good bulk often enables it to tank neutral attacks relatively well, such as Close Combat from Mega Heracross and Bug Bite from Mega Scizor. However, its 4x weakness to Ice-type attacks means even weaker moves such as Hidden Power Ice and Ice Shard from the likes of Mega Manectric and Mamoswine are able to knock it out. It has access to reliable STAB moves in Earthquake and Dragon Claw, and its great neutral STAB coverage makes it difficult to wall. Furthermore, Garchomp can use Swords Dance to boost its already high Attack and increase its sweeping and wallbreaking capabilities. It also has access to solid coverage options in Stone Edge, which allows it to hit Flying-types such as Zapdos and Mega Charizard Y for super effective damage, and Fire Blast, for hitting Steel-types such as Skarmory, Ferrothorn, and Scizor. Rough Skin enables Garchomp to return damage to foes that hit it with contact moves. Although its Speed stat is solid, it is still outsped by many fast threats such as Keldeo and Latios; however, with Choice Scarf, it is able to outspeed them. Upon Mega Evolution, Garchomp gets a big boost in both of its offensive stats, enabling it to do a lot of damage with little to no investment and utilize special attacks such as Draco Meteor and Fire Blast much more effectively. It also gains an increase in bulk, allowing it to survive many strong attacks including +6 Aqua Jet from Azumarill. Garchomp gains the Sand Force ability upon Mega Evolution, which increases the damage output of its Earthquake and Stone Edge during sand. However, it loses a bit of Speed and is no longer able to outpace the aforementioned base 100 Speed Pokemon.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Draco Meteor is Mega Garchomp's strongest Dragon-type STAB attack, and it's very useful for luring in and KOing physically defensive Pokemon such as Slowbro and Hippowdon. Earthquake is its Ground-type STAB attack and lets it target Steel-, Fire-, and Fairy-type Pokemon such as Bisharp, Victini, and Azumarill. Fire Blast is a great coverage option for hitting Pokemon such as Skarmory, Ferrothorn, and Mega Scizor, which aren't threatened by Mega Garchomp's other attacks. Stone Edge is useful for dealing with Flying-types such as Zapdos and Mega Charizard Y.

Set Details
========

Full investment in Special Attack increases the damage output of Mega Garchomp's special attacks. Maximum investment in Speed lets Mega Garchomp be as fast as possible and outspeed base 100 Speed Pokemon such as Manaphy before Mega Evolving. The remaining 4 EVs go into Attack to slightly increase the damage output of Mega Garchomp's physical attacks. Naive is the preferred nature over Hasty, as it allows Mega Garchomp to take priority moves more comfortably and survive +6 Aqua Jet from Azumarill. A Speed-boosting nature allows Garchomp to outspeed base 80 Speed Pokemon such as Hoopa-U after Mega Evolving. Rough Skin allows Garchomp to return a bit of damage to foes that attack it with a contact move before it Mega Evolves. Sand Force boosts the power of its Earthquake and Stone Edge in sand.

Usage Tips
========

Mega Garchomp should be used to wallbreak early-game so one of its teammates can clean up late-game. Examples of walls it can weaken for its teammates include Ferrothorn, Mega Venusaur, and Swampert. It can lure in and KO its usual checks such as Skarmory, Ferrothorn, Slowbro, and other physical walls with Fire Blast or Draco Meteor. However, in order to lure in these Pokemon, it has to hide its full set until it has the right opportunity. Due to Mega Garchomp's reliance on Draco Meteor, which lowers its Special Attack, it cannot break down physical walls that have access to recovery such as Hippowdon and Slowbro unless they switch into an attack. Its Special Defense is significantly lower than its Defense, so letting it take strong special hits should be avoided. Garchomp has a tough time switching into powerful Grass- and Water-type attacks from the likes of Serperior and Keldeo despite its respectable bulk and neutrality to them. Garchomp should avoid being afflicted with status because they can reduce its longevity or wallbreaking capabilities. For this reason, it can't always reliably switch in on walls such as Slowbro, which can burn it and halve its Attack with Scald, and Zapdos, which can badly poison it with Toxic. In some situations, Garchomp should not Mega Evolve in order to preserve its Speed. This is useful for checking Mega Charizard Y or a weakened Manaphy, as after Garchomp's Mega Evolution, they both outspeed it.

Team Options
========

Hippowdon is a great partner for Mega Garchomp because of its ability to set up Stealth Rock and weaken foes for Mega Garchomp. It also has the Sand Stream ability, which boosts the power of Mega Garchomp's Earthquake and Stone Edge thanks to its Sand Force ability. A Sand Force-boosted Earthquake is able to OHKO Azumarill after a Belly Drum and one turn of sand damage. Hippowdon is also able to use Whirlwind to phaze setup sweepers that try to set up on a -2 Special Attack Mega Garchomp. Excadrill is an amazing wallbreaker that appreciates Mega Garchomp's early-game wallbreaking so it can clean up late-game. Mixed Mega Garchomp can get past a few Pokemon that wall Excadrill such as Skarmory and Slowbro. Excadrill is able to check Fairy- and Ice-types that threaten Mega Garchomp. It can also use Rapid Spin to get rid of Spikes and Toxic Spikes, which can wear down Mega Garchomp. Mamoswine can switch in on Ice-type attacks that threaten Mega Garchomp quite well due to its Thick Fat ability. It can also check fast Dragon-types such as Hydreigon and Latios with its Ice Shard. Mamoswine has access to Knock Off and Superpower to threaten Chansey and Porygon2, both of which wall Mega Garchomp. Seismitoad and Gastrodon have an immunity to Water-type attacks and a neutrality to Ice-type attacks, which Mega Garchomp strongly appreciates. They also both have access to Scald, which can burn and whittle down walls for Mega Garchomp. Gastrodon can use Toxic to wear down walls such as Porygon2, which wall Mega Garchomp. Seismitoad and Gastrodon's ability to switch into Water-type attacks comes in handy when Mega Garchomp needs to retreat after using Draco Meteor. Landorus can use Gravity to allow Mega Garchomp to hit Flying-types with its Earthquake. It's also another Pokemon that appreciates Mega Garchomp's ability to weaken foes early-game so it can clean late-game with its powerful Sheer Force-boosted attacks or set up with Rock Polish. Landorus is also another good check to Fairy-types thanks to its access to Sludge Wave.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Swords Dance boosts Mega Garchomp's Attack to incredibly high levels, allowing it to break most physically defensive walls such as Slowbro and Hippowdon, which are no longer able to switch in. Earthquake is Mega Garchomp's Ground-type STAB attack and most reliable move due to its high Base Power. Dragon Claw is Mega Garchomp's Dragon-type STAB attack and targets Pokemon that aren't threatened by Earthquake such as Flying- and Grass-types. Stone Edge is an alternative option that targets Togekiss, which otherwise walls this set. Fire Blast is mainly used to hit Skarmory, which isn't threatened by any of Mega Garchomp's other moves. Substitute can be used to set up on Pokemon that rely on status damage such as Mew and Zapdos. It can also be used to take advantage of switches to make Mega Garchomp harder to revenge kill. However, Fire Blast is more important because of how much Skarmory threatens Ground-type teams.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack investment allows Mega Garchomp to deal as much damage as it can. Full investment in Speed with a Jolly nature allows Mega Garchomp to outpace as many foes as possible. Even with a Jolly nature and no Special Attack investment, Mega Garchomp is still able to 2HKO Skarmory with Fire Blast. Rough Skin allows Garchomp to deal damage to foes that hit it with contact moves before it Mega Evolves. Garchompite gives Garchomp a boost to its Attack, allowing it to hit much harder. It also boosts both of its defenses, giving it more opportunities to set up. However, it does cost Mega Garchomp some Speed, making it unable to outspeed Pokemon such as Kyurem-B and base 100 Speed Pokemon such as Manaphy and Mega Charizard Y.

Usage Tips
========

Mega Garchomp should set up with Swords Dance on passive Pokemon or Pokemon that don't threaten it such as Jirachi and Tyranitar. Before attempting to set up, all of its checks or counters such as Weavile and Clefable have to be knocked out or weakened. Mega Garchomp's Speed is too low for it to be a sweeper, so it should set up to wallbreak more easily, because a Swords Dance-boosted Earthquake and Dragon Claw can rip through many teams such as Fire, Steel, Normal, and Poison. This allows it to weaken many of its checks such as Clefable and Porygon2 to open the door for teammates that share the same checks, such as Excadrill, to sweep later. For this reason, Mega Garchomp's wallbreaking capabilities are useful early-game. Mega Garchomp should avoid status such as poison and burn from Pokemon like Porygon2 and Rotom-W, as they strongly reduce its longevity and sweeping potential. If it has Substitute, Mega Garchomp can easily set up on walls and status users such as Cradily and Mew. If Mega Garchomp has an opportunity to sweep, its health should be preserved because a healthy Mega Garchomp is hard to revenge kill once it sets up. However, in other matchups such as against Normal, setting up and wallbreaking is much more important than preserving its health because it opens up the door for a teammate such as Excadrill to clean late-game. In some cases, Mega Evolution should be preserved in order to outspeed base 100 Speed Pokemon such as Mega Charizard Y, which gets OHKOed by +2 Dragon Claw. However, Mega Evolving is necessary when using Fire Blast because a Leftovers variant of Skarmory has an easy time walling non-Mega Garchomp due to its Jolly nature and poor Special Attack.

Team Options
========

Hippowdon is a great partner for Mega Garchomp because of its ability to set up Stealth Rock and weaken foes for Mega Garchomp. It also has the Sand Stream ability, which boosts the power of Mega Garchomp's Earthquake thanks to Sand Force and gives it a good chance of OHKOing Slowbro at +2. Mamoswine's Thick Fat ability allows it to comfortably switch in on Ice-type attacks that threaten Mega Garchomp. It's also able to deal with Dragon-types that outspeed and OHKO Mega Garchomp such as Latios and Hydreigon with Ice Shard. Mamoswine also has access to Superpower and Knock Off, which help it to break Porygon2. Seismitoad also learns Knock Off, which cripples Porygon2 and thanks to its Water Absorb, it can switch in on Water-type attacks that threaten Mega Garchomp such as Scald from Keldeo. Gastrodon also has a Water immunity and can use Toxic to wear down walls for Mega Garchomp. Both Seismitoad and Gastrodon can use Scald to burn and wear down walls. Landorus is an amazing special wallbreaker and is able to break Fairy-type walls that try to stop Mega Garchomp such as Unaware Clefable and Togekiss thanks to its access to Sludge Wave. Rock Slide can also be used to deal a lot of damage to Togekiss. Excadrill is a great wallbreaker that's able to check Fairy- and Ice-type Pokemon such as Clefable and Weavile that Mega Garchomp has trouble with. It can also help Mega Garchomp wear down their shared threats such as Rotom-W and Mandibuzz, which enables one of them to sweep late-game.

[SET]
name: Choice Scarf (Ground)
move 1: Outrage
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Stone Edge
move 4: Fire Blast
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Rough Skin
nature: Naive
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Outrage is Garchomp's strongest physical Dragon-type attack with a very high Base Power and reliable accuracy. However, after using Outrage, Garchomp won't be able to switch out for two to three turns, after which it will get confused. Earthquake is Garchomp's Ground-type STAB move and its most reliable move due to its high Base Power and lack of drawbacks. Stone Edge is mainly for hitting Togekiss, as it's immune to both of Garchomp's STAB attacks. It can be used to hit other Flying-types such as Mega Charizard Y and Zapdos for super effective damage; however, Outrage does a lot of damage to them anyway. Fire Blast deals with the likes of Skarmory, Mega Scizor, and Ferrothorn, which wall Garchomp if it locks itself into any of its other moves.

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed investment with a Naive nature and Choice Scarf allows Garchomp to outpace as many Pokemon as it possibly can including base 100 Speed Choice Scarf users such as Jirachi. Full investment in Attack maximizes the damage output of Garchomp's physical attacks. The remaining 4 EVs are put into Special Attack to slightly increase Fire Blast's damage output. Rough Skin is the preferred ability for chipping away at foes that hit Garchomp with contact moves. A Naive nature is used so the power of Fire Blast isn't decreased. It's preferred over Hasty for tanking priority moves better and having a chance to survive +6 Aqua Jet from Azumarill.

Usage Tips
========

Choice Scarf Garchomp is a great late-game cleaner and revenge killer, being able to spam one of its powerful STAB attacks once its checks have been knocked out or weakened. It can also effectively lure in and eliminate faster threats such as Mega Diancie because most of the time the opponent expects Mega Garchomp. Garchomp needs to be careful when locking itself into Outrage because it might give free setup opportunities to Mega Scizor or Belly Drum Azumarill. Being locked into Earthquake can also give certain Pokemon such as Gyarados an opportunity to set up. For this reason, Pokemon that are immune to one Garchomp's STAB attacks should be removed so Garchomp can utilize them more freely. Although it has a Choice Scarf, it should still be careful of Ice Shard users such as Weavile and Mamoswine. Garchomp's Special Defense is not that impressive compared to its Defense, so switching it in on powerful special attacks should be avoided. Garchomp is completely useless if burned, so it should watch out for Pokemon that can potentially burn it with Will-O-Wisp, Scald, or even Lava Plume such as Mew, Slowbro, and Heatran.

Team Options
========

Hippowdon's ability to set up Stealth Rock and weaken foes for Garchomp makes it a valuable teammate. It can also phaze setup sweepers such as Mega Gyarados with Whirlwind. Mamoswine switches in on most Ice-type attacks with ease thanks to its Thick Fat ability. It's also able to check Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Latios and Whimsicott, which threaten Garchomp, thanks to its Ice Shard. Seismitoad and Gastrodon have an immunity to Water and a neutrality to Ice, which make them valuable partners for Garchomp. Seismitoad has access to Knock Off, which is able to cripple Porygon2 and Chansey, while Gastrodon can use Toxic to cripple other walls that check Garchomp such as Slowbro and Swampert. Landorus is a very powerful wallbreaker that can weaken foes, such as Mega Venusaur with Psychic, Fairy-types with Sludge Wave, and Flying-types with Rock Slide, for Choice Scarf Garchomp to clean late-game. It can also use Gravity to enable Garchomp to hit Flying-types with Earthquake. Excadrill is a solid partner because of its ability to check Fairy- and Ice-type Pokemon such as Sylveon and Weavile with its STAB Iron Head. Mega Camerupt appreciates Garchomp's neutrality to Water-type attacks and in return is able to OHKO most Grass-type Pokemon that Garchomp trouble dealing with such as Mega Venusaur. Mega Camerupt also has an immunity to burn and, thanks to its amazing Special Attack, can break physical walls such as Skarmory.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

**Ground**:

Maximum Attack investment can be used instead of maximum Special Attack investment on the mixed attacker set. However, it comes at the cost of Mega Garchomp's mixed wallbreaking capabilities and prevents it from breaking physical walls such as Slowbro and Hippowdon. A physically defensive set with Rocky Helmet is an option; however, it's inferior to all of its other sets simply because Hippowdon performs the role of a physical wall and Stealth Rock setter much better. Garchomp does have an easier time tanking Water- and Grass-type attacks and has a more offensive presence than Hippowdon does, but it gets worn down more easily because it lacks access to reliable recovery. Gastrodon also outclasses it as a Toxic spreader, as it has access to Recover, which helps it stall out walls. A regular non-Choice Scarf Garchomp can be used with Life Orb or Lum Berry, but due to Ground's lack of viable Mega Evolutions, there's often no reason not to run Mega Garchomp. Another reason Life Orb isn't as useful as Garchompite is because of the recoil damage and regular Garchomp's inferior bulk. Life Orb does, however, allow Garchomp to hit harder than Mega Garchomp and retain its good Speed tier. Running a Lum Berry allows Garchomp to avoid status once. A Salac Berry can be used on the Swords Dance set to allow Garchomp to become a dangerous late-game sweeper by boosting its Speed by one stage when its health is at 25% or under.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Ground**:

**Ice-types**: Most Ice-types such as Weavile and Mamoswine threaten Garchomp with Ice Shard, while other ones such as Avalugg can survive any hit from it and OHKO with Avalanche. Avalugg does fear Fire Blast from the mixed wallbreaker set because it's almost always physically defensive.

**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types such as Clefable and Togekiss are immune to Garchomp's Dragon-type attacks and are usually bulky enough to take a few Earthquakes. Clefable can also recover the damage with Soft-Boiled. They threaten Garchomp with their super effective Fairy-type attacks.

**Togekiss**: Togekiss walls Garchomp most of the time because of its immunity to both of Garchomp's STAB attacks, but it does need to watch out for Stone Edge.

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Physically defensive Pokemon such as Slowbro and Porygon2 can usually wall Garchomp pretty well, unless they're weakened and lured in with Mega Garchomp's Draco Meteor. Porygon2 can do a massive amount of damage with Ice Beam, while Slowbro can burn it with Scald or an Ice Beam of its own. Both of them have access to reliable recovery in Recover and Slack Off.

**Residual Damage**: Residual damage from entry hazards or status cripples Garchomp's longevity due to its lack of recovery. It gets worn down easily by Spikes and damage from burn, which also halves its Attack, and poison.

**Faster Pokemon**: Faster wallbreakers such as Keldeo, Latios, and Mega Diancie can do a lot of damage to Garchomp or even OHKO it. Mega Garchomp is revenge killed even because of the drop in Speed once it Mega Evolves.

Overview:
- Why mention its bulk together with its offensive stats? Talk about its bulk in conjunction with SD.
- Include that Garchomp has a Grass neutrality as well as its Water neutrality
- Explain the significance of its 4x Ice weakness.
- Seeing as its Fire Blast can 2HKO all of the Pokemon you mentioned, if it uses Naive, I don't think it's necessary to bring up its low Special Attack
- I'd bring up that Mega Garchomp can survive a +6 Aqua Jet from Azumarill in the section where you bring up its improved bulk

Mixed Attacker:
Set:
- I don't see the point in running the mixed set without Special Attack investment. For example, Slowbro and Hippowdon can't be broken without investment.

name: Mixed Attacker (Ground)
move 1: Draco Meteor
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Fire Blast
move 4: Stone Edge
item: Garchompite
ability: Rough Skin
nature: Naive
evs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

Moves:
- Why bring up that Earthquake hits Fire- and Rock-type Pokemon? I don't see why that's relevant here. Instead, say that Earthquake hits Fairy-types in addition to Steel-types. Give a few examples, such as say Heatran and Azumarill

Set Details:
- Change the Attack / Special Attack EV lines
- Give the example of outspeeding Manaphy before Mega Evolving
- Note that a Speed-boosting nature is necessary to outspeed base 80s after Mega Evolving, such as Hoopa-U, and Mega Gyarados
- Naive is specifically because Hasty puts Mega Garchomp into range of being OHKOed by a roll from +6 Azumarill's Aqua Jet.
- Explain that Rough Skin allows Garchomp to return damage if it switches into contact moves.
- Mention that Sand Force boosts Earthquake and Stone Edge's damage when in sand

Usage Tips:
- Don't need to mention the Ice weakness again
- Include some examples of walls it breaks down for its teammates
- List Slowbro for what Draco Meteor lures in and KOes
- Mention that Mega Garchomp's reliance on Draco Meteor, which lowers its Special Attack after use, means it has a hard time breaking walls with reliable recovery such as Hippowdon unless they switch into a hit first.
- Add to the defenses line that, while it has respectable bulk and a neutrality, Mega Garchomp has a really tough time switching into Grass- and Water-type attacks such as those from Serperior and Keldeo
- Also tie in its fear of status to why it can't switch into some walls reliably, as many such as Slowbro can potentially burn it with Scald or the likes of Zapdos can poison it with Toxic
- Talk about potentially not Mega Evolving. Sometimes the Speed is more important than the damage and that option is something you should definitely bring up. This is especially notable for checking Mega Charizard Y, as Garchomp, but not Mega Garchomp, can outspeed it

Team Options:
- Name Sand Force as the way Earthquake (and Stone Edge, which you forgot to add) are boosted. You may also want to give examples of where Sand Force-boosted attacks get KOs, such as Azumarill always being OHKOed by Earthquake after Belly Drum and one turn of sand damage.
- Not sure why it's important for Hippowdon to be able to switch into physical attacks, as in your own Usage Tips you say that Mega Garchomp can handle physical attackers well. Also, you don't need to define sand residual damage. Hippowdon is a good teammate for its ability to phaze setup sweepers that try to setup on a -2 Mega Garchomp, set up Stealth Rock to put Pokemon such as Togekiss and Zapdos into range, and activate Sand Force.
- No need to bring up that Excadrill also takes advantage of Hippowdon's Sand Stream. Give examples of walls that mixed Mega Garchomp takes out that Excadrill has trouble with, Skarmory would be nice. Also expand on what Pokemon Excadrill takes on that Mega Garchomp cannot, primarily Clefable.
- Add that Mamoswine's access to Superpower and Knock Off makes it very good at taking on the defensive Normal core of Chansey and Porygon2, which both wall Mega Garchomp completely.
- I'd bring up Gastrodon's use of Toxic to wear down walls that Mega Garchomp can't, such as Porygon2. Gastrodon and Seismitoad being able to switch into Water-type attacks is helpful for retreating after the use of Draco Meteor.
- Note that Landorus is a fantastic wallbreaker and can check most Fairy-types such as Clefable with Sludge Wave

Swords Dance:
Set:
- Fire Fang is horrible, even on Swords Dance sets because Fire Blast outdamages it even at +2. Fire Blast has the benefit of also being used without needing to set up.
- Substitute should absolutely be slashed on this set. I'm leaning towards having it slashed second because of how painful Skarmory tends to be for Ground teams to deal with.
- Also, Dragon Claw needs to be on this set. I'd put it in front of Stone Edge, since Stone Edge basically only hits Togekiss.

name: Swords Dance (Ground)
move 1: Swords Dance
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Dragon Claw / Stone Edge
move 4: Fire Blast / Substitute
item: Garchompite
ability: Rough Skin
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Moves:
- Note that Mega Garchomp can wallbreak more easily after it sets up
- No reason to bring up its accuracy.
- Add Dragon Claw here for STAB that reliably hits Flying-types.
- Make it clear that Stone Edge is basically only for Togekiss and hitting Flying-types without setting up
- Remove everything about Fire Fang.
- Fire Blast is primarily for Skarmory, as +2 Earthquake OHKOes offensive Mega Scizor and 2HKOes Ferrothorn (specially defensive Ferrothorn can be OHKOed too).
- Talk about Substitute, which allows it to set up on a lot of defensive Pokemon that rely on status to wear it down, such as Mew and Zapdos.

Set Details:
- Explain why Garchompite is used on this set.
- Again explain Rough Skin.

Usage Tips:
- While this set can sweep, its low Speed really hurts its chances. As a result, you should discuss wallbreaking with it. Swords Dance-boosted Earthquake and Dragon Claw can rip through many walls in the metagame
- This lets it weaken many of its checks early on to allow for an easier sweep later. List a check or two.
- So you can mention that Mega Garchomp has its uses early-game for that reason
- Give some examples of counters that need to be removed
- Don't mention the 4x weakness thing again
- Do note that if it has Substitute, Mega Garchomp can easily set up on walls and status users, and give an example or two.
- Instead of saying that this set's focus is to sweep, say that if Mega Garchomp has the opportunity to sweep, such as against a type like Grass, that it should preserve its health. In other matchups such as against Normal, getting Mega Garchomp in to set up and wallbreak often is more important than preserving HP.
- I'd again bring up not Mega Evolving. A +2 Garchomp can outspeed and OHKO Mega Charizard Y with Dragon Claw. However, do mention that Mega Evolving is necessary for using Fire Blast, as Leftovers Skarmory usually has a very easy time walling it.

Team Options:
- Reword every line to be relevant to the Swords Dance set.
- Sand Force really isn't as big of a deal for this set because setting up with sand active is pretty difficult. Hippowdon is primarily useful for setting up Stealth Rock. List a few examples of KOs that Stealth Rock helps Mega Garchomp get.
- Add Mamoswine's Superpower and Knock Off, which helps break Porygon2, which Mega Garchomp cannot set up thanks to its use of Ice Beam.
- Gastrodon is not a particularly good teammate for this set. Seismitoad can run Knock Off or a wallbreaker set though, making it a decent option.
- Add that, as a wallbreaker, Landorus can help break walls that try to stop Mega Garchomp. Gravity is very difficult to use with this set, as setting up takes away precious Gravity turns. Don't mention it here.
- Excadrill can help Mega Garchomp wear down shared checks and enable either of them to sweep late-game

Choice Scarf:
Moves:
- Stone Edge is more for Togekiss. Outrage does a ridiculous amount to Mega Charizard Y, so any chip damage puts it in range.

Set Details:
- Explain Naive.
- Specifically mention outspeeding base 100 Choice Scarf users. Give a few examples

Usage Tips:
- I wouldn't mention the Shadow Ball Gengar line.
- Note that it's a good revenge killer.

Team Options:
- Reword most of these to be relevant to the Choice Scarf set.
- Hippowdon again is mainly for either setting up Stealth Rock or phazing setup sweepers that try to take advantage of Garchomp.
- Don't bring up Hippowdon for Excadrill. Actually, Excadrill really isn't that good of a teammate in the first place
- Bring up Seismitoad's Knock Off and Gastrodon's Toxic for breaking down walls.

Other Options:
- Remove the Special Attack investment line. You can put Attack investment here though, to boost Mega Garchomp's power at the cost of its mixed wallbreaking capabilities.
- Remove this Substitute line
- And remove this Dragon Claw line
- Don't mention Choice Scarf being an exception.
- Also, note that Life Orb isn't as useful as Garchompite for the Swords Dance set because the additional bulk and lack of recoil is worth the minutely lower damage

Checks and Counters:
- Mention that Ice-type Pokemon threaten it with their use of Ice Shard. Do add a few other threats that might beat Garchomp a different way
- Your Dragon section isn't necessary, since it's just a specific Faster Pokemon section.
- Slowbro is setup fodder for the Swords Dance set, although Scald burns are dangerous. Instead, maybe use Hippowdon as an example
- Instead of Status, maybe use Residual Damage, as Garchomp is quite weak to Spikes wearing it down. Then you can add in burns, which also halve its damage, and Toxic poison that stacks up quickly.
- Gengar's a pretty awful check, second time I'm seeing it when it's not really that good at all. Maybe use Mega Lopunny and Latios instead

This took a lot. Please do some self-revision after implementing as well, because I'm sure there's still more because there was so much missing. Please also do not copy-paste Team Options as you did. There is no reason that teammates' uses should be the same across sets. After implementation QC 1/3

I told you this already when we talked on PS earlier but I didn't copy-paste the Team Options. The way they're worded is pretty similar though.

  • talk about abilities Rough Skin and Sand Force and what they do
  • All Pokemon listed under what Fire Blast hits are steel types maybe add steel types
  • the first point is very vague maybe separate attack and speed and say it has base 102 speed
  • I would add upon mega evolution it has good bulk instead of saying Garchomp has good bulk to set up because regular Swords Dance Garchomp is more of a late game sweeper
  • Examples of notable base 100 Pokemon Mega Garchomp doesn't outspeed?
  • Examples of common user of Hidden Power Ice and Ice Shard?
  • It also gains an increase in bulk, which in combination with its wallbreaking capabilities, makes it a big threat to most types of teams. How? this is sort of confusing
  • Hit the point that Garchomp gets a big boost to both of its Offensive stats
  • Especially emphasize increase in Attack and how it enables Garchomp to do a lot of damage with little to no investment
  • Although it's Speed stat is solid, it does leave it outsped by many fast threats such as Keldeo and Latios. I would add how Choice Scarf outspeeds these examples since it's a set
  • Examples of Grass-type moves it can "tank" and retaliate back with a Fire Blast
  • Since Zapdos is mentioned for what Stone Edge hits add it up here

The greatest story of them all.

Mention Endure Custap in OO, it's kinda similar to Endure Salac but trades the permanent speed boost for the ability to always know that you're going to outspeed a threat the next turn, for example a +2 Mgyara or volcarona are good examples where this might save you.

Overview
- "...often enabling it to tank a hit from Water- and Grass-types such as Waterfall from Mega Gyarados and Leaf Storm from Rotom-C..."
Rotom-C isn't the best example, considering how rare it is and Garchomp's only decent SpD. You also mention that you shouldn't allow Garchomp to take strong special hits later on. Mention Breloom instead, it's more common, and being able to tank Breloom's Bullet Seed if it needs to is pretty handy
- Add in that Garchomp's STAB coverage has pretty good neutral coverage together and make it harder to wall once combined with its useful coverage moves

Mixed Attacker
Set Details
- When talking about Rough Skin, mentioning Knock Off seems out of place. Just say "...who attack it with a contact move before it Mega Evolves"
Usage Tips
- Emphasize on how to use it as a lure. As a lure, it is important to hide Garchomp's full set until it successfully lures in what it needs to. For example, if against, say, a Slowbro team, using Draco Meteor on one of its teammates would make the opponent hesitate to switch Slowbro in on Garchomp later on. Bluffing the physical set until the opportune time is crucial.

Swords Dance
Moves
- Add that Substitute also makes it harder to revenge kill Garchomp, which is useful when it gets a Swords Dance boost and doesn't want to switch out
Usage Tips
- "This allows it to weaken many of its checks such as Clefable and Porygon2 to open the door for a sweep later." Add in "...for teammates that share the same checks, such as Excadrill" here
- "If Mega Garchomp has an opportunity to sweep, its health should be preserved." Elaborate on the point that you make here. Add that keeping itself health up makes it harder to revenge kill once it has set up.

Choice Scarf
Usage Tips
- Add that you should try to remove foes that are immune to Garchomp's STAB attacks so Garchomp can utilize them more freely without worrying about them switching in
Team Options
- Mention that Mega Camerupt's burn immunity and great Special Attack is useful for removing physical walls, like Skarmory

Strategy Comments

Other Options
- "A physically defensive set with Rocky Helmet is an option, however its inferior to all of its other sets simply because Hippowdon performs the role of a physical wall and Stealth Rock setter much better."
The physically defensive set has a few bonuses, like tanking Water- and Grass-type attacks better while having offensive presence, mention these. But also say that Garchomp is considerably easier to wear down because, unlike Hippowdon, it lacks reliable recovery.
- "Gastrodon also outclasses it as a Toxic spreader."
Mention that Gastrodon breaks down other walls with Toxic more effectively because it can constantly use Recover to help stall them out, and Gastrodon is also a more reliable Water check.
- Add that Life Orb mantains Garchomp's good Speed tier
- Specifically say that Salac Berry could be used on the Swords Dance set
Checks and Counters
- Under "Faster Pokemon", just add in that it is easier to revenge kill once it has Mega Evolved

Nice work, QC 3/3

**Ground**:

Garchomp has a high Attack stat combined with along with a great base 102 Speed, that makes it able to outpace base 100 Speed Pokemon. Its Dragon / Ground typing gives it a neutrality(Is this proper jargon?) to Water and Grass, often enabling it to tank a hit from Water- and Grass-types,(AC) such as Waterfall from Mega Gyarados and Bullet Seed from Breloom,(Remove this clause imo it causes confusion) and do deal(do is ok too, but deal is more appropriate) a good amount of damage in return. However, it also has a 4x weakness to Ice-type attacks, meaning even weaker moves such as Hidden Power Ice or Ice Shard from the likes of Mega Manectric and Mamoswine,(RC) respectively, are able to knock it out. It has access to reliable STAB moves in Earthquake and Dragon Claw. Garchomp can learn use Swords Dance to boost its already high Attack and increase its sweeping and wallbreaking capabilities. It has pretty good bulk which often enables it to tank neutrally effective attacks relatively well such as Close Combat from Heracross or Bug Bite from Mega Scizor. It also has access to solid coverage options in Stone Edge, which allows it to hit Flying-types such as Zapdos and Mega Charizard Y for super effective damage, and Fire Blast, for hitting Steel-types such as Skarmory, Ferrothorn, and Scizor. Its STAB combination provide great neutral coverage making Garchomp difficult to wall once combined with its coverage moves. Garchomp has access to the ability Rough Skin ability, enabling which enables it to return damage to foes that hit it with contact moves. Although it's Speed stat is solid, it does leave it is still outsped by many fast threats such as Keldeo and Latios. However, a Choice Scarf variant of Garchomp is able to outspeed them. Upon Mega Evolution, Garchomp gets a big boost in both of its offensive stats, enabling it to do a lot of damage with little to none investment and utilize its special attacks such as Draco Meteor and Fire Blast much more effectively. It also gains an increase in bulk, allowing it to live many strong attacks including +6 Aqua Jet from Azumarill. Garchomp gains the ability Sand Force ability upon Mega Evolution, increasing which increases(Don't Switch to continuous tense!) the damage output of its Earthquake and Stone Edge during sandstorm. However, it loses a bit of Speed and is no longer able to outpace base 100 Speed Pokemon such as Manaphy and Mega Charizard Y.

Moves
========

Draco Meteor is Mega Garchomp's strongest Dragon-type STAB attack and it's very useful for luring in physically defensive Pokemon such as Slowbro and Hippowdon. Earthquake is its Ground-type STAB attack and it lets it target Steel-, Fire-, and Fairy-type Pokemon such as Bisharp, Victini, and Azumarill. Fire Blast is a great coverage option for hitting Pokemon such as Skarmory, Ferrothorn, and Mega Scizor which aren't threatened by Mega Garchomp's other attacks. Stone Edge is useful for dealing with checking(more appropriate) Flying-types such as Zapdos and Mega Charizard Y.

Set Details
========

Naive is the preferred nature over Hasty to as it allows Mega Garchomp to take priority moves more comfortably and live +6 Aqua Jet from Azumarill. A Speed-boosting nature allows Garchomp to outspeed base 80 Speed Pokemon such as Hoopa-U after Mega Evolving. Rough Skin allows Garchomp to return a bit of damage to foes who attack it with a contact move before it Mega Evolves. Sand Force boosts the power of its Earthquake and Stone Edge in sandstorm.

Usage Tips
========

Mega Garchomp should be used to wallbreak early-game so that one of its teammates can clean up late-game. Examples of walls it can weaken for its teammates include Ferrothorn, Mega Venusaur, and Swampert. It can lure in its usual checks such as Skarmory, Ferrothorn, Slowbro, or other physical walls with Fire Blast or Draco Meteor, respectively. However, in order to lure in these Pokemon it has to hide its full set until it has the opportunity to successfully lure them in. Due to Mega Garchomp's reliance on Draco Meteor, which lowers its Special Attack, to beat physically defensive Pokemon, it means it has issues doing so against cannot break down physical walls that have access to recovery such as Hippowdon and Slowbro unless they switch into an attack first. Its Special Defense is significantly lower than its Defense, so letting it take strong special hits should be avoided. While its overall bulk is respectable and it has a key neutrality, it Garchomp has a tough time switching into powerful Grass- and Water-type attacks from the likes of Serperior and Keldeo. It doesn't like being inflicted with status because it can cripple its longevity or wallbreaking capabilities, so it should be kept away from it. For this reason it can't always reliably switch in on walls such as Slowbro which can burn it and halve its Attack,(RC) with Scald,(AC) or Zapdos which can badly poison it with Toxic. In some situations Garchomp should not Mega Evolve in order to preserve its Speed. This is useful for checking Mega Charizard Y or a weakened Manaphy as upon Garchomp's Mega Evolution they both outspeed Garchomp it.(Mega Manaphy Confirmed!)

Team Options
========

Hippowdon is a great partner for Mega Garchomp because of its ability to set up Stealth Rock and weaken foes for Mega Garchomp to OHKO or 2HKO them. It also has the Sand Stream ability which sets sandstorm and boosts the power of Mega Garchomp's Earthquake and Stone Edge thanks to its Sand Force ability. A Sand Force boosted Earthquake is able to OHKO Azumarill after a Belly Drum and one turn of sand damage. Hippowdon is also able to use Whirlwind and phase phaze(keep in mind that phaze stands for pseudo-haze) setup sweepers that try to set up on a -2 Special Attack Mega Garchomp. Excadrill is an amazing wallbreaker(I haven't used Excadrill enough to know what it counts as, but I'm pretty sure that sweeper is more appropriate) that appreciates Mega Garchomp's early-game wallbreaking so it can clean up late-game. Mixed Mega Garchomp can get past a few Pokemon that wall Excadrill such as Skarmory and Slowbro. Excadrill is able to check Fairy- and Ice-types that threaten Mega Garchomp. It can also use Rapid Spin to get rid of Spikes and Toxic Spikes which can wear down Mega Garchomp. Seismitoad and Gastrodon have an immunity to Water-type attacks and a neutrality to Ice-type attacks which Mega Garchomp strongly appreciates. They both have access to Scald which can burn and whittle down walls for Mega Garchomp. Gastrodon can use Toxic to wear down walls such as Porygon2 which wall Mega Garchomp. Seismitoad and Gastrodon's ability to switch into Water-type attacks comes in handy when Mega Garchomp needs to retreat after using Draco Meteor. Landorus can use Gravity to allow Mega Garchomp to hit Flying-types with its Earthquake. It's also another Pokemon that appreciates Mega Garchomp's ability to weaken foes early-game so it can clean late-game with its powerful Sheer Force boosted attacks or set up with Rock Polish. Landorus is also another good check to Fairy-types thanks to its access to Sludge Wave.

Moves
========

Swords Dance boosts Mega Garchomp's Attack to incredibly high levels sharply/by 2 stages(Don't exaggerate.). It's able to wallbreak more easily after it sets up and most physically defensive Pokemon such as Slowbro and Hippowdon are no longer able to switch in valid switch-ins. Earthquake is its STAB attack and most reliable move due to its high Base Power. Dragon Claw is Mega Garchomp's Dragon-type STAB attack and targets Pokemon that aren't threatened by Earthquake such as Flying- and Grass-types. Stone Edge is an alternative option that targets Togekiss which otherwise walls this set. Fire Blast is mainly used to hit Skarmory which isn't threatened by any of Mega Garchomp's other moves. Substitute can be used to set up on Pokemon that rely on status damage such as Mew and Zapdos which use Will-O-Wisp and Toxic, respectively. It can also be used to take advantage of switches and it to makes Mega Garchomp harder to revenge-kill. However, Fire Blast is more important because of how much Skarmory threatens Ground-type teams.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack investment allows Mega Garchomp to do deal(Do is gramatically correct too, but deal is more appropriate) as much damage as it can to its foes. Full investment in Speed with a Jolly nature allows Mega Garchomp to outpace as many foes as possible. The reason why a Jolly nature is used is because Fire Blast with a Special Attack lowering nature and no investment is still able to 2HKO Skarmory. Rough Skin allows Garchomp to deal damage to foes that hit it with contact moves before it Mega Evolves. Garchompite gives Garchomp a boost buff(boost is mostly used for stat-boosts like swords dance) to its Attack, allowing it to hit much harder. It also boosts buffs both of its defenses, giving it more opportunities to set up. However, it does cost Mega Garchomp some Speed after which it's no longer able to outspeed Pokemon such as Kyurem-B and base 100 Speed Pokemon such as Manaphy and Mega Charizard Y.

Usage Tips
========

Mega Garchomp should set up with Swords Dance on passive Pokemon or Pokemon that don't threaten it is such as Jirachi(I'm not QC but i'd suggest removing Jirachi. it gets ice punch) and Tyranitar. Before attempting to set up, all of its checks or counters such as Weavile and Clefable have to be knocked out or weakened, respectively. Mega Garchomp's Speed is too low to for it to be a sweeper,(RC). that's That's why instead of setting up to sweep, it should set up to wallbreaker more easily because as Swords Dance-boosted Earthquake and Dragon Claw can rip through many teams such as Fire-, Steel-, Normal-, and Poison-type teams. This allows it to weaken many of its checks such as Clefable and Porygon2 to open the door for teammates that share the same checks, such as Excadrill, to sweep later. For this reason, Mega Garchomp's wallbreaking capabilities are useful early-game. Status such as poison and burn from Pokemon like Porygon2 and Rotom-W strongly cripples Mega Garchomp's longevity and sweeping potential. That's why it It should avoid getting inflicted with status if wanting to set up because it's going to get worn down really fast. If it has Substitute, Mega Garchomp can easily set up on walls and status users inflictors such as Cradily and Mew. If Mega Garchomp has an opportunity to sweep, its health should be preserved because a healthy Mega Garchomp is hard to revenge-kill once it sets up. However, in other matchups such as against Normal, setting up and wallbreaking is much more important than preserving its health because it opens up the door for a teammate such as Excadrill to clean late-game. In some cases Mega Evolving should be preserved in order to outspeed base 100 Speed Pokemon such as e.g Mega Charizard Y which gets OHKOd by +2 Dragon Claw. However, Mega Evolving is necessary when using Fire Blast because a Leftovers variant of Skarmory has an easy time walling it due to the a Jolly nature and regular Garchomp's poor Special Attack.

Team Options
========

Hippowdon is a great partner for Mega Garchomp because of its ability to set up Stealth Rock and weaken foes for Mega Garchomp. It also has the ability Sand Stream ability which boosts the power of Mega Garchomp's Earthquake thanks to Sand Force and gives it a good chance of OHKOing Slowbro at +2. Mamoswine's ability Thick Fat ability allows it to comfortably switch in on the Ice-type attacks that threaten Mega Garchomp. It's also able to deal with check Dragon-types that outspeed and OHKO Mega Garchomp such as Latios and Hydreigon with Ice Shard. Mamoswine also has access to Superpower and Knock Off which helps it to break Porygon2. Seismitoad also learns Knock Off to cripple which cripples Porygon2 and thanks to its Water Absorb it can switch in on Water-type attacks that threaten Mega Garchomp such as Scald from Keldeo. Gastrodon also has a Water-type immunity and can use Toxic to wear down walls for Mega Garchomp. Both Seismitoad and Gastrodon can use Scald to burn and wear down walls. Landorus is an amazing special wallbreaker and is able to break walls that try to stop Mega Garchomp such as Unaware Clefable and Togekiss thanks to its access to Sludge Wave. Rock Slide can also be used to deal a lot of damage to Togekiss. Excadrill is a great wallbreaker that's able to check Fairy- and Ice-type Pokemon such as Clefable and Weavile that Mega Garchomp has troubles dealing with. It can also help Mega Garchomp wear down their shared threats such as Rotom-W and Mandibuzz, and enable one of them to sweep late-game.

Moves
========

Outrage is Garchomp's strongest physical Dragon-type attack with a very high Base Power and reliable accuracy. However, after using Outrage, Garchomp won't be able to switch out for two to three turns, after which it will get confused. Earthquake is Garchomp's Ground-type STAB and its most reliable move due to its high Base Power and accuracy without any drawbacks. Stone Edge is mainly for hitting Togekiss as its immune to both of Garchomp's STAB attacks. It can be used to hit other Flying-types such as Mega Charizard Y and Zapdos for super effective damage,(RC). However Outrage does a lot of damage to them anyway. Fire Blast deals with the likes of Skarmory, Mega Scizor, and Ferrothorn which wall Garchomp if it locks itself into any of its other moves.

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed with a Naive nature and Choice Scarf allows Garchomp to outpace as many Pokemon as it possibly can including base 100 Speed Choice Scarf users such as Jirachi. It's preferred over Hasty for tanking priority moves better and having a chance to live +6 Aqua Jet from Azumarill.

Usage Tips
========

Choice Scarf Garchomp is a great late-game cleaner and revenge killer, being able to spam one of its powerful STAB attacks once its checks have been knocked out or weakened. It can also effectively lure in faster threats such as Mega Diancie because most of the time the foe expects Mega Garchomp. Garchomp needs to be careful when locking itself into Outrage because it might give free setup to Mega Scizor or Belly Drum Azumarill. Being locked into Earthquake can also give certain Pokemon such as Gyarados an opportunity to set up. For this reason, Pokemon that are immune to one Garchomp's STAB attacks should be removed so Garchomp can utilize them more freely. Although it has a Choice Scarf, it should still be careful of Ice-types with priority Ice Shard users such as Weavile and Mamoswine.

========

Hippowdon's ability to set up Stealth Rock and weaken foes for Garchomp makes it a valuable teammate. It can also phase setup sweepers such as Mega Gyarados with Whirlwind. Mamoswine switches in on most Ice-type attacks with ease thanks to its ablility Thick Fat ability. Its It's also able to check Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Latios and Whimsicott which threaten Garchomp, thanks to its Ice Shard. Seismitoad and Gastrodon have an immunity to Water and a neutrality to Ice which make them valuable partners for Garchomp since it appreciates teammates that are able to tank those types of attacks. Seismitoad has access to Knock Off which is able to can cripple Porygon2 and Chansey, while Gastrodon can use Toxic to cripple other walls that check Garchomp such as Slowbro and Swampert. Landorus is a very powerful wallbreaker that can weaken foes such as Mega Venusaur with Psychic, Fairy-types with Sludge Wave, and Flying-types with Rock Slide, for Choice Scarf Garchomp to clean late-game. It can also use Gravity to enable Garchomp to hit Flying-types with Earthquake. Excadrill is a solid partner because of its ability to check Fairy- and Ice-type Pokemon such as Sylveon and Weavile with its STAB Iron Head. Mega Camerupt appreciates Garchomp's neutrality to Water-type attacks and in return is able to OHKO most Grass-type Pokemon that Garchomp has troubles dealing with such as Mega Venusaur. Mega Camerupt also has an immunity to burn and thanks to its amazing Special Attack can break physical walls such as Skarmory.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

**Ground**:

Maximum Attack can be used instead of maximum Special Attack on the Mixed Attacker set. However it comes at the cost of its mixed wallbreaking capabilities and disables Mega Garchomp from breaking physical walls such as Slowbro and Hippowdon. A physically defensive set with Rocky Helmet is an option, however its it's inferior to all of its other sets simply because Hippowdon performs the role of a physical wall and Stealth Rock setter much better. Garchomp does have an easier time tanking Water- and Grass-type attacks and has a more offensive presence than Hippowdon does, but it gets worn down easier more easily because it lacks access to reliable recovery. Gastrodon also outclasses it as a Toxic spreader as it has access to Recover which helps it stall out walls. A regular non-Choice Scarf Garchomp can be used with either Life Orb or Lum Berry, but due to Ground's lack of viable mega evolutions, there's often no reason not to run Mega Garchomp. Another reason Life Orb isn't as useful as Garchompite is because of the recoil and inferior bulk. Life Orb does, however, allow Garchomp to hit harder than Garchompite and retain its good Speed tier. Running a Lum Berry allows Garchomp to avoid status once. A Salac Berry can be used on the Swords Dance set to allow Garchomp to become a dangerous late-game sweeper by boosting its Speed by one stage when its health is at 25% or under.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Ground**:

**Ice-types**: Most Ice-types such as Weavile and Mamoswine threaten counter Garchomp with Ice Shard, while other ones such as Avalugg can live any hit from it and OHKO with Avalanche.

Both of them have access to reliable recovery in Recover and Slack Off, respectively.

**Residual Damage**: Residual damage from hazards or status cripple Garchomp's longevity due to its lack of recovery. It gets worn down easily by Spikes and damage from burn, which also halves its Attack, and poison.

**Faster Pokemon**: Faster wallbreakers such as Keldeo, Latios, and Mega Diancie can do a lot of damage to Garchomp or even OHKO it with Draco Meteor and Moonblast, respectively. Mega Garchomp is revenge-killed even easier because of the drop in Speed once it Mega Evolves.

Stone Edge is useful for dealing with checking(more appropriate) (unnecessary) Flying-types such as Zapdos and Mega Charizard Y.

Naive is the preferred nature over Hasty, (AC) to as it allows Mega Garchomp to take priority moves more comfortably and live survive +6 Aqua Jet from Azumarill. A Speed-boosting nature allows Garchomp to outspeed base 80 Speed Pokemon such as Hoopa-U after Mega Evolving. Rough Skin allows Garchomp to return a bit of damage to foes who that attack it with a contact move before it Mega Evolves. Sand Force boosts the power of its Earthquake and Stone Edge in sandstorm. (sand is fine)

Usage Tips
========

Mega Garchomp should be used to wallbreak early-game so that (unnecessary) one of its teammates can clean up late-game. Examples of walls it can weaken for its teammates include Ferrothorn, Mega Venusaur, and Swampert. It can lure in and KO (or "weaken", whichever is more appropriate) its usual checks such as Skarmory, Ferrothorn, Slowbro, or and other physical walls with Fire Blast or Draco Meteor, respectively. However, in order to lure in these Pokemon, (AC) it has to hide its full set until it has the right opportunity to successfully lure them in. While its overall bulk is respectable and it has a key neutrality, it Garchomp has a tough time switching into powerful Grass- and Water-type attacks from the likes of Serperior and Keldeo despite its respectable bulk and neutrality to them. It Garchomp doesn't like should avoid being inflicted afflicted with status because it they can cripple its longevity or wallbreaking capabilities, so it should be kept away from it. For this reason, (AC) it can't always reliably switch in on walls such as Slowbro, (AC) which can burn it and halve its Attack,(RC) with Scald,(AC) or and Zapdos, (AC) which can badly poison it with Toxic. In some situations, (AC) Garchomp should not Mega Evolve in order to preserve its Speed. This is useful for checking Mega Charizard Y or a weakened Manaphy, (AC) as upon after Garchomp's Mega Evolution, (AC) they both outspeed Garchomp it.(Mega Manaphy Confirmed!)

Team Options
========

Hippowdon is a great partner for Mega Garchomp because of its ability to set up Stealth Rock and weaken foes for Mega Garchomp to OHKO or 2HKO them. It also has the Sand Stream ability, (AC) which sets sandstorm and (this probably isn't necessary) boosts the power of Mega Garchomp's Earthquake and Stone Edge thanks to its Sand Force ability. A Sand Force-boosted (hyp.) Earthquake is able to OHKO Azumarill after a Belly Drum and one turn of sand damage. Hippowdon is also able to use Whirlwind and to phase phaze(keep in mind that phaze stands for pseudo-haze) setup sweepers that try to set up on a -2 Special Attack (optional) Mega Garchomp. It can also use Rapid Spin to get rid of Spikes and Toxic Spikes, (AC) which can wear down Mega Garchomp. Seismitoad and Gastrodon have an immunity to Water-type attacks and a neutrality to Ice-type attacks, (AC) which Mega Garchomp strongly appreciates. They also both have access to Scald, (AC) which can burn and whittle down walls for Mega Garchomp. Gastrodon can use Toxic to wear down walls such as Porygon2, (AC) which wall Mega Garchomp. Seismitoad and Gastrodon's ability to switch into Water-type attacks comes in handy when Mega Garchomp needs to retreat after using Draco Meteor. Landorus can use Gravity to allow Mega Garchomp to hit Flying-types with its Earthquake. It's also another Pokemon that appreciates Mega Garchomp's ability to weaken foes early-game so it can clean late-game with its powerful Sheer Force-boosted (hyp.) attacks or set up with Rock Polish. Landorus is also another good check to Fairy-types thanks to its access to Sludge Wave.

(keep original) Earthquake is its Mega Garchomp's Ground-type STAB attack and most reliable move due to its high Base Power. Dragon Claw is Mega Garchomp's Dragon-type STAB attack and targets Pokemon that aren't threatened by Earthquake such as Flying- and Grass-types. Stone Edge is an alternative option that targets Togekiss, (AC) which otherwise walls this set. Fire Blast is mainly used to hit Skarmory, (AC) which isn't threatened by any of Mega Garchomp's other moves. Substitute can be used to set up on Pokemon that rely on status damage such as Mew and Zapdos, (AC) which use Will-O-Wisp and Toxic, respectively. It can also be used to take advantage of switches and it to makes Mega Garchomp harder to revenge-kill. (remove hyp.) However, Fire Blast is more important because of how much Skarmory threatens Ground-type teams.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack investment allows Mega Garchomp to do deal(Do is gramatically correct too, but deal is more appropriate) as much damage as it can to its foes. Full investment in Speed with a Jolly nature allows Mega Garchomp to outpace as many foes as possible. The reason why a Jolly nature is used is because Fire Blast with a Special Attack lowering nature and no investment Even with a Jolly nature and no Special Attack investment, Mega Garchomp is still able to 2HKO Skarmory with Fire Blast. Rough Skin allows Garchomp to deal damage to foes that hit it with contact moves before it Mega Evolves. Garchompite gives Garchomp a boost buff(boost is mostly used for stat-boosts like swords dance) (boost is fine) to its Attack, allowing it to hit much harder. It also boosts buffs (same) both of its defenses, giving it more opportunities to set up. However, it does cost Mega Garchomp some Speed, (AC) after which it's no longer able making it unable to outspeed Pokemon such as Kyurem-B and base 100 Speed Pokemon such as Manaphy and Mega Charizard Y.

Usage Tips
========

Mega Garchomp's Speed is too low to for it to be a sweeper,(RC). that's That's why instead of setting up to sweep, (keep this comma btw) so it should set up to wallbreaker more easily because as (unnecessary; if you want to use "as", put a comma before it) Swords Dance-boosted Earthquake and Dragon Claw can rip through many teams such as (keep this) Fire-, Steel-, Normal-, and Poison-type teams Fire, Steel, Normal, and Poison. This allows it to weaken many of its checks such as Clefable and Porygon2 to open the door for teammates that share the same checks, such as Excadrill, to sweep later. For this reason, Mega Garchomp's wallbreaking capabilities are useful early-game. Mega Garchomp should avoid status such as poison and burn from Pokemon like Porygon2 and Rotom-W, (AC) as they strongly cripples cripple Mega Garchomp's its longevity and sweeping potential. That's why it It should avoid getting inflicted with status if wanting to set up because it's going to get worn down really fast. If it has Substitute, Mega Garchomp can easily set up on walls and status users inflictors (users is fine) such as Cradily and Mew. If Mega Garchomp has an opportunity to sweep, its health should be preserved because a healthy Mega Garchomp is hard to revenge-kill (remove hyp.) once it sets up. However, in other matchups such as against Normal, setting up and wallbreaking is much more important than preserving its health because it opens up the door for a teammate such as Excadrill to clean late-game. In some cases, (AC) Mega Evolving Evolution should be preserved in order to outspeed base 100 Speed Pokemon such as e.g (I'm not really sure why you made this change ;-;) Mega Charizard Y, (AC) which gets OHKOd OHKOed by +2 Dragon Claw. However, Mega Evolving is necessary when using Fire Blast because a Leftovers variant of Skarmory has an easy time walling it non-Mega Garchomp due to the a its Jolly nature and regular Garchomp's poor Special Attack.

Team Options

Hippowdon is a great partner for Mega Garchomp because of its ability to set up Stealth Rock and weaken foes for Mega Garchomp. It also has the ability Sand Stream ability (unnecessary) , (AC) which boosts the power of Mega Garchomp's Earthquake thanks to Sand Force and gives it a good chance of OHKOing Slowbro at +2. Mamoswine's ability Thick Fat ability (same) allows it to comfortably switch in on the (unnecessary) Ice-type attacks that threaten Mega Garchomp. It's also able to deal with check (unnecessary) Dragon-types that outspeed and OHKO Mega Garchomp such as Latios and Hydreigon with Ice Shard. Mamoswine also has access to Superpower and Knock Off, (AC) which helps it to break Porygon2. Seismitoad also learns Knock Off, (AC) to cripple which cripples Porygon2 and thanks to its Water Absorb, (AC) it can switch in on Water-type attacks that threaten Mega Garchomp such as Scald from Keldeo. Gastrodon also has a Water-type immunity and can use Toxic to wear down walls for Mega Garchomp. Both Seismitoad and Gastrodon can use Scald to burn and wear down walls. Excadrill is a great wallbreaker that's able to check Fairy- and Ice-type Pokemon such as Clefable and Weavile that Mega Garchomp has troubles dealing with. It can also help Mega Garchomp wear down their shared threats such as Rotom-W and Mandibuzz, and enable which enables one of them to sweep late-game.

Outrage is Garchomp's strongest physical Dragon-type attack with a very high Base Power and reliable accuracy. (don't remove) However, after using Outrage, Garchomp won't be able to switch out for two to three turns, after which it will get confused. Earthquake is Garchomp's Ground-type STAB move and its most reliable move due to its high Base Power and accuracy without any lack of drawbacks. Stone Edge is mainly for hitting Togekiss, (AC) as its it's immune to both of Garchomp's STAB attacks. It can be used to hit other Flying-types such as Mega Charizard Y and Zapdos for super effective damage,(RC). (remove period) ; (add semicolon) however, (AC) Outrage does a lot of damage to them anyway. Fire Blast deals with the likes of Skarmory, Mega Scizor, and Ferrothorn, (AC) which wall Garchomp if it locks itself into any of its other moves.

Set Details
========

It's preferred over Hasty for tanking priority moves better and having a chance to live survive +6 Aqua Jet from Azumarill.

Usage Tips
========

Choice Scarf Garchomp is a great late-game cleaner and revenge killer, being able to spam one of its powerful STAB attacks once its checks have been knocked out or weakened. It can also effectively lure in and eliminate faster threats such as Mega Diancie because most of the time the foe opponent expects Mega Garchomp. Although it has a Choice Scarf, it should still be careful of Ice-types with priority Ice Shard users such as Weavile and Mamoswine.

========

Hippowdon's ability to set up Stealth Rock and weaken foes for Garchomp makes it a valuable teammate. It can also phase phaze setup sweepers such as Mega Gyarados with Whirlwind. Mamoswine switches in on most Ice-type attacks with ease thanks to its ablility Thick Fat ability. (same) Its It's also able to check Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Latios and Whimsicott, (AC) which threaten Garchomp, thanks to its Ice Shard. Seismitoad and Gastrodon have an immunity to Water and a neutrality to Ice, (AC) which make them valuable partners for Garchomp since it appreciates teammates that are able to tank those types of attacks. Seismitoad has access to Knock Off, (AC) which is able to can (unnecessary) cripple Porygon2 and Chansey, while Gastrodon can use Toxic to cripple other walls that check Garchomp such as Slowbro and Swampert. Landorus is a very powerful wallbreaker that can weaken foes, (AC) such as Mega Venusaur with Psychic, Fairy-types with Sludge Wave, and Flying-types with Rock Slide, for Choice Scarf Garchomp to clean late-game. It can also use Gravity to enable Garchomp to hit Flying-types with Earthquake. Excadrill is a solid partner because of its ability to check Fairy- and Ice-type Pokemon such as Sylveon and Weavile with its STAB Iron Head. Mega Camerupt appreciates Garchomp's neutrality to Water-type attacks and in return, (AC) is able to OHKO most Grass-type Pokemon that Garchomp has troubles trouble dealing with such as Mega Venusaur. Mega Camerupt also has an immunity to burn and, (AC) thanks to its amazing Special Attack, (AC) can break physical walls such as Skarmory.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

**Ground**:

Maximum Attack investment can be used instead of maximum Special Attack investment on the mixed attacker set. However, (AC) it comes at the cost of its mixed wallbreaking capabilities and disables Mega Garchomp from breaking physical walls such as Slowbro and Hippowdon. A physically defensive set with Rocky Helmet is an option, (RC) ; (add semicolon) however, (AC) its it's inferior to all of its other sets simply because Hippowdon performs the role of a physical wall and Stealth Rock setter much better. Garchomp does have an easier time tanking Water- and Grass-type attacks and has a more offensive presence than Hippowdon does, but it gets worn down easier more easily because it lacks access to reliable recovery. Gastrodon also outclasses it as a Toxic spreader, (AC) as it has access to Recover, (AC) which helps it stall out walls. A regular non-Choice Scarf Garchomp can be used with either Life Orb or Lum Berry, but due to Ground's lack of viable mega evolutions Mega Evolutions, there's often no reason not to run Mega Garchomp. Another reason Life Orb isn't as useful as Garchompite is because of the recoil damage and inferior bulk. Life Orb does, however, allow Garchomp to hit harder than Garchompite Mega Garchomp and retain its good Speed tier. Running a Lum Berry allows Garchomp to avoid status once. A Salac Berry can be used on the Swords Dance set to allow Garchomp to become a dangerous late-game sweeper by boosting its Speed by one stage when its health is at 25% or under.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Ground**:

**Ice-types**: Most Ice-types such as Weavile and Mamoswine threaten counter (unnecessary and also false, they don't "counter" D:) Garchomp with Ice Shard, while other ones such as Avalugg can live survive any hit from it and OHKO with Avalanche.

Both of them have access to reliable recovery in Recover and Slack Off, respectively.

**Residual Damage**: Residual damage from entry hazards or status cripple cripples Garchomp's longevity due to its lack of recovery.

Mega Garchomp is revenge-killed revenge killed even because of the drop in Speed once it Mega Evolves.

**Ground**: (shuffled some stuff around to make it more coherent)
Garchomp hass has a high Attack stat along with a great base 102 Speed, allowing it to outpace base 100 Speed Pokemon such as Mega Charizard Y and Manaphy. Its Dragon / Ground typing gives it a neutrality to (unitalicise) Water and Grass, often enabling it to tank hits from Water- and Grass-types, such as Waterfall from Mega Gyarados and Bullet Seed from Breloom, and deal a good amount of damage in return, and its good bulk often enables it to tank neutral attacks relatively well, such as Close Combat from Mega Heracross and Bug Bite from Mega Scizor. However, it has a its 4x weakness to Ice-type attacks, meaning means even weaker moves such as Hidden Power Ice and Ice Shard from the likes of Mega Manectric and Mamoswine, respectively, are able to knock it out. It has access to reliable STAB moves in Earthquake and Dragon Claw, and its great neutral STAB coverage makes it difficult to wall. Furthermore, (AC) Garchomp can use Swords Dance to boost its already high Attack and increase its sweeping and wallbreaking capabilities. It has pretty good bulk, which often enables it to tank neutral attacks relatively well such as Close Combat from Heracross and Bug Bite from Mega Scizor. It also has access to solid coverage options in Stone Edge, which allows it to hit Flying-types such as Zapdos and Mega Charizard Y for super effective damage, and Fire Blast, for hitting Steel-types such as Skarmory, Ferrothorn, and Scizor. Garchomp's STAB combination provides great neutral coverage, which, when combined with its other coverage moves, makes it difficult to wall. Garchomp has access to the Rough Skin ability which enables it Garchomp to return damage to foes that hit it with contact moves. Although its Speed stat is solid, it is still outsped by many fast threats such as Keldeo and Latios; (fix spacing) however, with Choice Scarf, it is able to outspeed them. Upon Mega Evolution, Garchomp gets a big boost in both of its offensive stats, enabling it to do a lot of damage with little to no investment and utilize its special attacks such as Draco Meteor and Fire Blast much more effectively. It also gains an increase in bulk, allowing it to survive many strong attacks including +6 Aqua Jet from Azumarill. Garchomp gains the Sand Force ability upon Mega Evolution, which increases the damage output of its Earthquake and Stone Edge during sand. However, it loses a bit of Speed and is no longer able to outpace the aforementioned base 100 Speed Pokemon such as Manaphy and Mega Charizard Y.

Moves
========

It can be used to hit other Flying-types such as Mega Charizard Y and Zapdos for super effective damage; (fix spacing) however, Outrage does a lot of damage to them anyway. Fire Blast deals with the likes of Skarmory, Mega Scizor, and Ferrothorn, which wall Garchomp if it locks itself into any of its other moves.

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

========

Mega Camerupt appreciates Garchomp's neutrality to Water-type attacks and in return (RC) is able to OHKO most Grass-type Pokemon that Garchomp trouble dealing with such as Mega Venusaur. Mega Camerupt also has an immunity to burn and, thanks to its amazing Special Attack, can break physical walls such as Skarmory.

Other Options
=============

**Ground**:

Maximum Attack investment can be used instead of maximum Special Attack investment on the mixed attacker set. However, it comes at the cost of its Mega Garchomp's mixed wallbreaking capabilities and disables Mega Garchomp prevents it from breaking physical walls such as Slowbro and Hippowdon. A physically defensive set with Rocky Helmet is an option; (fix spacing) however, it's inferior to all of its other sets simply because Hippowdon performs the role of a physical wall and Stealth Rock setter much better.

===================

Both of them have access to reliable recovery in Recover and Slack Off, respectively.

Mega Garchomp is revenge killed even because of the drop in Speed once it Mega Evolves
