OU Aerodactyl

[OVERVIEW]

* Aerodactyl is a late-game cleaner, able to overwhelm the opponent with its high speed, high damage output combined with Tough Claws and a plethora of moves at its disposal.
* It has variety between the moves it runs, allowing Aerodactyl to be slightly unpredictable.
* Its incredible speed after Mega Evolving allows Mega Aerodactyl to outspeed major threats like Tapu Koko, Latios, Mega Pinsir, +1 Dragonite, and +1 Gyarados and check some of the major threats in the metagame like Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Pinsir, Buzzwole, and Tornadus-T with Aerial Ace and Stone Edge.
* Aerodactyl gets incredibly worn down by Stealth Rock if it doesn't carry Roost because it requires its coverage moves, allowing fewer switches in and limiting its late-game potential.
* Being weak to commonly seen types like Water, Steel, Ice, Rock, Electric, and Steel makes it extremely vulnerable to Pokemon such as Ash-Greninja, Celesteela, and Mamoswine. These types also have priority moves like Aqua Jet, Bullet Punch and Ice Shard, making it even easier for Mega Aerodactyl to get revenge killed.
* Tough Claws doesn't benefit Earthquake and Stone Edge, making them weaker than they should be.

Moves
========

* Aerial Ace is Mega Aerodactyl's main STAB move, as it allows it to beat some of the major threats like Buzzwole, Pheromosa, Mega Venusaur, Tapu Bulu, and Amoonguss. In addition, it is boosted by Tough Claws and it can never miss, making it a safe option.
* Stone Edge is used against Fire-, Ice-, and Flying-type Pokemon such as Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Weavile, Mega Pinsir, Kyruem-B, and Alolan Marowak.
* Ice Fang is a coverage option against Dragon- and Ground-type Pokemon like Salamence, Dragonite, Zygarde, Zygarde-10%, Landorus-T, and Hippowdon.
* Fire Fang can also be used to have coverage against more Steel-types like Genesect, Celesteela, Magearna, Ferrothorn, and Mega Scizor, although Magearna will take more damage from an Earthquake.
* Earthquake is used against Electric-, Steel-, Poison-, and Rock-type Pokemon such as Tapu Koko, Mega Metagross, Heatran, Magearna, Magnezone, Nihilego, and Toxapex.
* Aqua Tail does more damage to Hippowdon while still doing hefty damage to Landorus-T.
* Roost can also be used to restore Mega Aerodactyl's health if it gets worn down by attacks and hazards, but it has to give up a coverage move in order to do so, something Mega Aerodactyl can't really afford.

Set Details
========

* 252 Attack and 252 Speed EVs with a Jolly nature are used to outspeed Pokemon like Tapu Koko, Weavile, Serperior, Gengar, Mega Charizard Y, and Mega Pinsir. It can also outspeed +1 Speed Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, Adamant Mega Charizard X, and Dragonite.
* Pressure is used to scout Scarf Landorus-T.

Usage Tips
========

* Mega Aerodactyl's main purpose is to be a late-game sweeper, easily picking off other weakened Pokemon.
* Send in Mega Aerodactyl when its counters are gone or severely crippled.
* You should avoid sending out Mega Aerodactyl when there are hazards on the field.
* Try to predict your opponent's switch-in to Mega Aerodactyl and deal major damage to it with a coverage move, such as using Fire Fang predicting a Ferrothorn switch.
* You can attempt to send it out earlier, allowing other cleaners to finish the job Mega Aerodactyl started.

Team Options
========

* Magnezone can trap Steel-type Pokemon such as Mega Scizor, Ferrothorn, and Celesteela, which would otherwise check Mega Aerodactyl easily, while Mega Aerodactyl can take of other threats to Magnezone such as Buzzwole and Mega Charizard Y.
* Hazard removers like Latios, Latias, and Tapu Fini greatly benefit Aerodactyl, as the support allows Mega Aerodactyl to come out safely without fearing Stealth Rock, and Mega Aerodactyl can pressure Grass-type Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Amoonguss, and Tangrowth for Tapu Fini. Tapu Fini can also come in on Choice Specs Greninja, while Latias can support Mega Aerodactyl with Healing Wish, making it easier to keep up the pressure.
* Tapu Bulu is a great teammate to Mega Aerodactyl, since it can beat Water-, Rock-, and Ground-types like Ash-Greninja, Mega Slowbro, Tyranitar, and Hippowdon, while Mega Aerodactyl can take of other threats to Tapu Bulu such as Buzzwole and Mega Charizard Y. However, Mega Aerodactyl should run Aqua Tail and Fire Fang with Tapu Bulu, as Earthquake's damage gets reduced by Grassy Terrain.
* Bloom Doom Heatran can lure out Water-types that Mega Aerodactyl has problems facing and OHKO them. It can also take care of Scizor, which is a huge problem for Mega Aerodactyl.
* Protean Greninja can set up Spikes to make Mega Aerodactyl's job easier, take down checks such as Garchomp and Hippowdon, and lure in Ferrothorn and surprise it with Hidden Power Fire.
* Other Electric-types like Tapu Koko, Zapdos, and Thundurus can beat out Water-types like Tapu Fini, and Slowbro while also running Hidden Power Ice to beat Ground-types like Garchomp and Landorus-T that Mega Aerodactyl usually struggles with.
* Hazard setters like Landorus-T, Ferrothorn, Alolan Marowak and Skarmory are greatly appreciated, as the residual damage allows Mega Aerodactyl to clean more efficently.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

* A set with Pursuit and Roost can be used as a trapper to form a core with other trappers like Magnezone, however it is vastly inferior to an all-out attacking set.
* A suicide lead with Focus Sash can also be used, as Aerodactyl is fast enough to set up Stealth Rock quickly; however, it is inferior to Azelf as it can set up Stealth Rocks safer and can learn Explode.
* Hone Claws can be used to give Mega Aerodactyl a more powerful and more accurate Stone Edge, but it is situational and gets easily revenge killed by Choice Scarf users and priority moves.
* Thunder Fang can be used to take care of Water-types like Greninja, Tapu Fini, and Mega Gyarados, but it loses major coverage if it decides to run it.
* Taunt can also be used to shut down bulky Pokemon that rely on status moves like Skarmory, Ferrothorn, and Toxapex.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Water-types**: Bulky Water-types such as Tapu Fini, Slowbro, and Rotom-W can take a hit from Mega Aerodactyl and strike back with a Water-type move. However, Tapu Fini can be worn down easily and it can't survive the onslaught if it switches in around 60-70% health. Other Water-type Pokemon like Manaphy and Kingdra can survive a hit from Mega Aerodactyl and OHKO it in return, although they cannot wall Mega Aerodactyl unlike the examples listed above.

**Priority Moves**: Mega Aerodactyl is extremely vunerable to priority moves such as Greninja's Water Shuriken, Azumarill's Aqua Jet, Mega Scizor's Bullet Punch, and Mamoswine's Ice Shard. These moves can easily KO Mega Aerodactyl and allow Greninja to transform into Ash-Greninja if it isn't transformed already.

**Bulky Ground-types**: Mega Aerodactyl can break through Landorus-T and Garchomp with Ice Fang, while Hippowdon has problems tanking Aqua Tail. However, if Mega Aerodactyl has the wrong coverage move, they can wall it and either set up Stealth Rock or damage it.

**Steel-types**: Mega Aerodactyl struggles against Steel-types like Celesteela, Kartana, Ferrothorn, and Mega Scizor if it doesn't carry Fire Fang, while it struggles more against Mega Metagross and Jirachi if it doesn't have Earthquake. However, due to Mega Aerodactyl's extremely good Attack and Speed, they cannot switch into it easily and must find an opportune moment to get on the field.

**Faster Pokemon**: Choice Scarf users like Tapu Lele, Garchomp, Landorus-T, and Nihilego can all outspeed Mega Aerodactyl and most likely OHKO it. Pheromosa also has just enough Speed to strike first and OHKO Mega Aerodactyl with High Jump Kick, which allows Pheromosa to check Mega Aerodactyl.

Checks would be revenge killers, scizor, bulky waters/offensive waters.

Pursuit/roost should be in this too.

I think adding sash lead is a soild option too

[OVERVIEW]
* Average bulk with a varied number of resistances to Bug, Flying, Fire, Normal and Poison allows it to resist and check some of the major threats in the metagame like Pheromosa, Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Pinsir, Buzzwole and Tornadus-T with Aerial Ace and Stone Edge.
It's slower than Pheromosa, so not really.

[OVERVIEW]
* Earthquake is used against Electric-, Steel-, Poison-, and Rock-type Pokemon such as Tapu Koko, Mega Metagross, Heatran, Magearna, Magnezone, Jirachi, Nihilego, Toxapex, Tyranitar, and Alolan Muk. Fire Fang can also be used to have coverage against more Steel-types like Genesect, Celesteela, Magearna, Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, Jirachi, Skarmory and Kartana.
I think it's important to specify under the Fire Fang coverage that Magearna and Jirachi are hit harder by Earthquake than Fire Fang.

[OVERVIEW]
* Tapu Lele can cover Aerodactyl's priority weakness easily with Psychic Terrain, and both of them benefit from the other one putting a dent on the opponent's team before doing any clean-ups.
Mega Aerodactyl is not protected by Psychic Terrain since it isn't grounded, which really should be specified. Although it can discourage priority attacks in general. I'm not sure if it's the best choice for a partner as they both struggle with certain Steel types like Celesteela

[OVERVIEW]
It can also outspeed +1 Speed Mons (Choice Scarf) like Xurkitree, Mega Gyarados and Dragonite.
None of those mons should be running Choice Scarf, so I'd remove that.

The first part was a mistake on my calculations. My bad.

I'll edit the rest of the details in and most likely remove Tapu Meme as a teammate.

id mention taunt here too, its nice for shutting down bulkier mons that want to set up hazards on aero like skarm.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Water-types:** Bulky Water-types such as Tapu Fini, Slowbro, Pelipper, Rotom-W and Mega Gyarados can easily take a hit from Mega Aerodactyl, and strike back with a Water-type move. Other Water-type Pokemon like Greninja, Manaphy and Kingdra can survive a hit from Mega Aerodactyl and OHKO it in return, although they cannot wall Aerodactyl unlike the examples listed above.

**Steel-types:** Steel-types like Mega Metagross, Celesteela, Air Balloon Heatran, Magearna, Kartana, Ferrothorn and Bulky Mega Scizor can check Aerodactyl easily because they can survive a hit from it and OHKO it with a Steel-type move in return, Mega Scizor can set up Swords Dance and OHKO with Bullet Punch next turn, Genesect and Kartana can outspeed it with Choice Scarf and OHKO it with a Steel-type move. However, due to Mega Aerodactyl's extremely good attack and speed, they cannot switch into it easily and must be careful. i would lower this, i don't think steels are the biggest threats to aero and the wording on this is a bit weird, also remove mentions of scarf kartana it's really bad

**Priority Moves:** Mega Aerodactyl is extremely vunerable to priority moves such as Greninja's Water Shuriken, Azumarill's Aqua Jet, Mega Scizor's Bullet Punch and Mamoswine's Ice Shard. These moves can easily KO Mega Aerodactyl, and allow Greninja to transform into Ash-Greninja if it isn't transformed already.

**Bulky Ground-types:** Tanky Ground-types like Garchomp, Landorus-T and Hippodown can all survive either an Ice Fang or an Aqua Tail from Aerodactyl and allow them to either set up Stealth Rock or damage it. They must be careful, however, since they cannot survive another hit from Mega Aerodactyl and must switch out in order to avoid a KO.

**Tyranitar:** Tyranitar can check Mega Aerodactyl with Stone Edge, while Mega Aerodactyl can try to bet on the RNG Chances and 2HKO with Aqua Tail. no point in ttar since it never realistically beats aero

**Pheromosa:** Pheromosa has just enough speed to strike first and OHKO Mega Aerodactyl with High Jump Kick, which allows Pheromosa to check Mega Aerodactyl. However it can lose to RNG and miss the High Jump Kick, allowing Mega Aerodactyl to OHKO it easily. replace pheromosa with faster mons in general like scarfers (lando-t/chomp/terrak/lele are all decent examples) and mention phero since it naturally outspeeds and does a ton to aero too.
even though you've added examples, i think you've gone a bit overkill with them: there was a line that had 10 example, i would aim to cut it down to 3-4 of them, 5+ is fine if you're covering a bunch of types though (example i made up: ice fang hits grass-, dragon-, ground-, and flying-types such as a, b, c, d, and e

Overview

* Aerodactyl is a late game cleaner, able to overwhelm the opponent with its fast speed, high damage output and a pletra of moves at its disposal.
* High attack combined with Tough Claws allows Aerodactyl to tear through the opponent's team once its checks and counters are gone.
Merge these 2 lines.

* In addition to that, three of those types have priority moves like Water Shuriken, Aqua Jet, Bullet Punch, and Ice Shard, making its high speed irrelevant and being extremely weak to Greninja, Mega Metagross, Azumarill, Mega Scizor and Mamoswine.
Instead of irrelevant, you should say something all the lines of "nullifying it's high speed" because Mega Aero's Speed will always be relevant.

* Its incredible speed allows him to outspeed major threats like Tapu Koko, Latios, Mega Pinsir, +1 Dragonite, and +1 Gyarados.
Bring up the fact that the change to Mega Evolution has made its speed even more valuable.

Mention that its damage on moves that aren't boosted by Tough Claws is disappointing, making it weaker than it should be.

Usage Tips

* Mega Aerodactyl must come in when there is no hazards on the field and the opponent's Pokemon can be KO'ed easily.
This is... way too idealistic and not much of a top at all. You will definitely run into times when you're forced to switch it in when Hazards are in play. You should specify that unless it's absolutely unavoidable, avoid sending Aerodactyl out into battle when hazards are in play, especially if the opponent has strong checks.

A tip worth noting is that you can make it significantly easier on Aerodactyl's part if you can predict a check's switch in with a coverage move (nailing Ferrothorn with Fire Fang, for example). At that point, you won't have to predict its next switch in, and can freely fire off an Aerial Ace or w/e.

Checks and Counters

Why is Pelipper mentioned here when it gets absolutely mauled by Stone Edge? Mega Gyarados isn't consistently switching into Aerodactyl either. You should specify that Tapu Fini can be worn down, and will actually lose to Aerodactyl if it switches into it around 60-70%.

You need to reword this section. Bulky Chomp, Landorus-T and Hippowdon are good answers to Aerodactyl if Ice Fang / Aqua Tail isn't used. When these moves are used, Garchomp and Landorus-T lose (though Garchomp can cripple Aerodactyl in the process) and Hippowdon can win, since it can stomach Aqua Tail's pretty well.

**Steel-types:** Steel-types like Mega Metagross, Celesteela, Air Balloon Heatran, Kartana, Ferrothorn and Bulky Mega Scizor can check Mega Aerodactyl easily if it doesn't run Fire Fang, because they can survive a hit from it and OHKO it with a Steel-type move in return. Mega Scizor can set up Swords Dance and OHKO with Bullet Punch next turn, and Genesect can outspeed it with Choice Scarf and OHKO it with a Steel-type move. However, due to Mega Aerodactyl's extremely good attack and speed, they cannot switch into it easily and must switch in safely.
This section needs to be reworded too. Air Balloon Heatran is extremely rare and arguably not much of a check if it can't even switch into anything but Earthquake (which Aerodactyl might not run!) is also vulnerable to Aerodactyl, and can't really threaten it back (barring maybe Bloom Doom). You're missing Skarmory. Genesect shouldn't be mentioned because it doesn't resist Aerial Ace or Stone Edge.

**Faster Pokemon:Weather sweepers like Kingdra and Excadrill can outspeed Mega Aerodactyl under the Rain/Sand and easily take out Mega Aerodactyl.
Remove this.

Pheromosa also has just enough speed to strike first and OHKO Mega Aerodactyl with High Jump Kick, which allows Pheromosa to check Mega Aerodactyl. However it can lose to RNG and miss the High Jump Kick, allowing Mega Aerodactyl to OHKO it easily.

* Average bulk with a varied number of resistances to Bug, Flying, Fire, Normal and Poison allows it to resist and check some of the major threats in the metagame like Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Pinsir, Buzzwole and Tornadus-T with Aerial Ace and Stone Edge.
I kind of find this line shoddy because Mega Aerodactyl shouldn't switch into quite a few of these Pokemon; especially if it hasn't Mega Evolved yet. I will say that its resistance to Flying-type attacks makes it very good to check Mega Pinsir. As for the other Pokemon it's better at being able to check threats because:
* Its incredible speed after Mega Evolving allows him to outspeed major threats like Tapu Koko, Latios, Mega Pinsir, +1 Dragonite, and +1 Gyarados.
Typing has a lot less to do with anything when you're already faster than a lot of things and probably OHKOing them (outside of super bulkier ones).
* Gets incredibly worn down by Stealth Rock if it doesn't carry Roost, allowing fewer switch ins and limiting its late-game potential.
I would mention why it can't often run Roost (usually needs the coverage moves).
* Weak to commonly seen types like Water, Steel, Ice, Rock, Electric and Steel types makes it extremely vulnerable to Pokemon such as Genesect, Greninja, Celesteela, Mega Metagross, Tapu Koko, and Mamoswine.
* In addition to that, three of those types have priority moves like Water Shuriken, Aqua Jet, Bullet Punch, and Ice Shard, nullifying its high speed and being extremely weak to Greninja, Mega Metagross, Azumarill, Mega Scizor and Mamoswine.
I would find a way to merge these together (and remove Genesect too). Priority is a big weakness to it for sure, but you kind of repeat the weakness to it twice which is kind of shaky. I would also specify Ash-Greninja for Water Shuriken.
* Moves that don't benefit from Tough Claws such as Earthquake and Stone Edge are weaker compared to other moves that gets boosted by Tough Claws.
That's actually false. Stone Edge is still 150 BP after STAB, and neutral attacks will always favor Stone Edge. Aerial Ace breaks to 118 BP after Tough Claws and STAB, and Aqua Tail still only sits at 133. It's a fairly true statement for Earthquake, though I think a better way to describe it is that Tough Claws doesn't benefit all of Mega Aerodactyl's primary attacks such as Stone Edge and Earthquake.
* Stone Edge is used against Fire-, Ice-, and Flying-type Pokemon such as Mega Charizard X/Y, Wevaile, Mega Pinsir, Kyruem-B, and Alolan Marowak.
*Weavile. Also I would just say Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Weavile... etc.
* Ice Fang is a coverage option against Dragon-, and Ground-type Pokemon like Salamence, Dragonite, Zygarde, Zygarde 10%, Landorus-T, and Hippowdown. Alternatively, Aqua Tail can be used to have certain advantages against Heatran, Nihilego, Excadrill, Hippowdon, and Mamoswine.
* Earthquake is used against Electric-, Steel-, Poison-, and Rock-type Pokemon such as Tapu Koko, Mega Metagross, Heatran, Magearna, Magnezone, Nihilego, and Toxapex. Fire Fang can also be used to have coverage against more Steel-types like Genesect, Celesteela, Magearna, Ferrothorn, and Mega Scizor, although Magearna will take more damage from an Earthquake.
The biggest thing that needs to be said about these slashes is that you should always use a combination of either Ice Fang and Earthquake or Aqua Tail and Fire Fang. This is for covering as many threats as possible without having redundant coverage. Definitely stress this in the Moves section please.
* Roost can also be used to restore Mega Aerodactyl's health if it gets worn down by attacks and hazards.
Mention that Aerodactyl will have to give up a coverage move in return which makes it harder to fit in.
* Pressure is used to lower the opponent's PP before Mega Evolving. It can also scout Scarf Landorus-T.
Lowering PP only will matter on something extremely situational like if Aerodactyl switches into Earthquake or when a wall recovers and its like on 2 PP left or something. Realistically scouting Scarf Landorus-T is the only reason to use Pressure.
* Hazard removers like Latios, Latias and Tapu Fini greatly benefit Aerodactyl, as it allows Mega Aerodactyl to come out safely without fearing Stealth Rock, and Mega Aerodactyl can pressure Grass-type Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Amoonguss and Tangrowth for Tapu Fini.
I think Fini is the best partner to mention here as it's a great answer to Specs Greninja (which otherwise can revenge kill with Water Shuriken) while Mega Aerodactyl will always trample through Protean Greninja. I would also mention that Latias can provide Healing Wish for Aerodactyl which allows it to be a little more reckless in attacking.
* Tapu Bulu is a great teammate to Mega Aerodactyl, since it can beat Water-, Rock-, and Ground-types like Greninja, Mega Slowbro, Tyranitar and Hippodown, while Mega Aerodactyl can take of other threats to Tapu Bulu such as Buzzwole and Mega Charizard X.
Tapu Bulu is really bad against Protean Greninja, so again mention that Tapu Bulu is more for Ash-Greninja than regular Greninja. Also emphasize that when using Tapu Bulu Aerodactyl should always use Aqua Tail and Fire Fang as Earthquake's damage is halved in Grassy Terrain.

I would mention Scarfers here if you're emphasizing Mega Charizard X. Mega Aerodactyl is always slower than even Adamant Zard X unless it's running a lot of bulk:

Adamant Zard X: 299 * 1.5 = 448
Timid Pheromosa: 441

Now to be fair Mega Aerodactyl is a great check to Mega Charizard Y, so it's worth to mention this.

Furthermore for Team Options - Bloom Doom Heatran lures all bulky Water-types and will always scrap them down. Also a great answer to most Scizor which is otherwise a huge problem for Mega Aerodactyl. I also feel like Electric-types are good mentions since they harass Water-types in general and some of them can get around Ground-types like Garchomp and Landorus-T with Hidden Power Ice. Protean Greninja is a good mention here too since you could do Spikes or use its Protean-boosted moves to bypass problematic threats or put some holes in the opponent's team.

Other Options should include Hone Claws. Though Mega Aerodactyl can be revenge killed by Scarf users and priority +1 Stone Edge does quite a bit while having perfect accuracy. It's not good enough outside of that and it's still really situational, but I would've mentioned Hone Claws before Thunder Fang.
**Bulky Ground-types:** If Mega Aerodactyl doesn't carry either Ice Fang or Aqua Tail
The biggest thing with Mega Aerodactyl is using either Ice Fang or Aqua Tail. You cannot afford to miss these moves as Ground-types are way too prevalent in the OU metagame right now. You're likely dropping the last attack if you really do Roost (and being honest, if you do Roost, you should really run Aqua Tail). Hippowdon is a fair point, though it really doesn't enjoy repeated Aqua Tails anyway (and since some Hippos run some SpD it gets dicier -
252 Atk Tough Claws Mega Aerodactyl Aqua Tail vs. 252 HP / 144+ Def Hippowdon: 184-218 (43.8 - 51.9%) -- 11.7% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery).
**Steel-types:** Steel-types like Mega Metagross, Celesteela, Kartana, Ferrothorn, Skarmory, and Bulky Mega Scizor can check Mega Aerodactyl easily if it doesn't run Fire Fang, because they can survive a hit from it and OHKO it with a Steel-type move in return.
Roughly the same concept as above. You're either running Earthquake or Fire Fang in the last slot, though to be fair Mega Metagross could tank a hit if it's above 80ish health or simply bypass Mega Aerodactyl's Speed with STAB Bullet Punch. Also remove Genesect in here.
**Faster Pokemon:** Choice Scarf users like Genecest, Tapu Lele, Garchomp, and Landorus-T can all outspeed Mega Aerodactyl and most likely OHKO it. Pheromosa also has just enough speed to strike first and OHKO Mega Aerodactyl with High Jump Kick, which allows Pheromosa to check Mega Aerodactyl.
Remove Genesect here too. Feel free to add Scarf Nihilego though since it can use Mega Aerodactyl for a free Beast Boost and Power Gem is one of the moves best to lock into.

Tag me when you made these changes and I'll look it over again.

* Weak to commonly seen types like Water, Steel, Ice, Rock, Electric and Steel types makes it extremely vulnerable to Pokemon such as Ash-Greninja, Celesteela, Mega Metagross, Tapu Koko, and Mamoswine. These types also have priority moves like Aqua Jet, Bullet Punch and Ice Shard, making it even easier for Mega Aerodactyl to get revenge killed.
Since Mega Aerodactyl naturally outspeeds Tapu Koko and Mega Metagross, i'd be wary about placing in a list of Pokemon that are highly effective against Aerodactyl.

Other Water-type Pokemon like Greninja, Manaphy and Kingdra can survive a hit from Mega Aerodactyl and OHKO it in return, although they cannot wall Mega Aerodactyl unlike the examples listed above.
Stone Edge has a 50%~ chance of OHKOing Greninja after Stealth Rock, so you should probably remove it.

Otherwise this is good

GP 1/1
how to implement a GP check

[OVERVIEW]

* Aerodactyl is a late-game cleaner, able to overwhelm the opponent with its fast high speed, its high damage output combined with Tough Claws, (AC) and a the plethora of moves at its disposal.
* It has variety between the moves it runs, allowing Aerodactyl to be slightly unpredictable.
* Its incredible speed after Mega Evolving allows Mega Aerodactyl to outspeed major threats like Tapu Koko, Latios, Mega Pinsir, +1 Dragonite, and +1 Gyarados, (RC) and check some of the major threats in the metagame like Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Pinsir, Buzzwole, (AC) and Tornadus-T with Aerial Ace and Stone Edge. (AP)
* Aerodactyl gets incredibly worn down by Stealth Rock if it doesn't carry Roost because it requires its of requiring coverage moves, allowing fewer switches ins and limiting its late-game potential.
* Being weak to commonly seen types like Water, Steel, Ice, Rock, Electric, (AC) and Steel types makes it extremely vulnerable to Pokemon such as Ash-Greninja, Celesteela, and Mamoswine. These types also have priority moves like Aqua Jet, Bullet Punch, (AC) and Ice Shard, making it even easier for Mega Aerodactyl to get revenge killed.
* Tough Claws doesn't benefit Earthquake and Stone Edge, making them weaker than they should be.

Moves
========

* Ice Fang is a coverage option against Dragon-, (RC) and Ground-type Pokemon like Salamence, Dragonite, Zygarde, Zygarde-10%, Landorus-T, and Hippowdon Hippowdown.
* Mega Aerodactyl should always run either Ice Fang with Earthquake or Aqua Tail with Fire Fang in order to cover many threats as possible without having redundant coverage.
* Roost can also be used to restore Mega Aerodactyl's health if it gets worn down by attacks and hazards, however but it has to give up a coverage move in order to do so use it, something Mega Aerodactyl can't really afford.

Set Details
========

* 252 Attack and 252 Speed EVs with a Jolly nature are is used to outspeed unboosted Pokemon alot of Pokemon without any Speed Boosts like Tapu Koko, Weavile, Serperior, Gengar, Mega Charizard Y, and Mega Pinsir. It can also outspeed +1 Speed Mons Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, Adamant Mega Charizard X, (AC) and Dragonite.
* Pressure is used to scout Choice Scarf Landorus-T.

Usage Tips
========

* Mega Aerodactyl's main purpose is to be a late-game sweeper, easily picking off other weakened Pokemon.
* Send in Mega Aerodactyl when its counters are gone or severely crippled.
* Unless it's unavoidable from phazing, (this does not seem worth mentioning as a tip since the user cannot do anything about it) You should avoid sending out Mega Aerodactyl when there are hazards on the field.
* Try to predict your opponent's switch-in to Mega Aerodactyl and deal major damage to it with a coverage move, such as using Fire Fang predicting a Ferrothorn switch.
* You can attempt to send it out earlier, allowing An earlier attempt at sending it out can be made, as it allows other cleaners to finish the job Mega Aerodactyl started.

Team Options
========

* Hazard removers like Latios, Latias, (AC) and Tapu Fini greatly benefit Aerodactyl, as it the support allows Mega Aerodactyl to come out safely without fearing Stealth Rock, and Mega Aerodactyl can pressure Grass-type Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Amoonguss, (AC) and Tangrowth for Tapu Fini. Tapu Fini can also come in to on Choice Specs Greninja, while Latias can support Mega Aerodactyl with Healing Wish, making it easier to keep up the pressure.
* Tapu Bulu is a great teammate to Mega Aerodactyl, since it can beat Water-, Rock-, and Ground-types like Ash-Greninja, Mega Slowbro, Tyranitar, (AC) and Hippowdon Hippodown, while Mega Aerodactyl can take of other threats to Tapu Bulu such as Buzzwole and Mega Charizard Y.
It can also take care of Scizor, which is a huge burden problem for Mega Aerodactyl.
* Protean Greninja can set up Spikes to make Mega Aerodactyl's job easier, take down checks such as Garchomp and Hippowdon, and lure in Ferrothorn and surprise it with Hidden Power Fire while also luring out Pokemon like Garchomp, Hippowdown, and Ferrothorn to deal massive damage to them. (Greninja does not lure in Garchomp and Hippowdon. this revision is approved by Hootie)
* Other Electric-types like Tapu Koko, Zapdos, and Thundurus can beat out Water-types like Tapu Fini, and Slowbro, (RC) while also running Hidden Power Ice to beat Ground-types like Garchomp and Landorus-T that Mega Aerodactyl usually struggles with.
* Hazard setters like Landorus-T, Ferrothorn, Alolan Marowak and Skarmory are greatly appreciated appriciated, as it the residual damage allows Mega Aerodactyl to clean more efficently.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

* A set with Pursuit and Roost can be used as a trapper to form a core with other trappers like Magnezone; (ASC) however, (AC) it is vastly inferior to an all-out attacking set.
* A suicide lead set with Focus Sash can also be used with Focus Sash, as Aerodactyl is fast enough to set up Stealth Rocks quickly; (ASC) however, (AC) it is inferior to Azelf, which as it can set up Stealth Rocks safer more safely and can learn Explosion Explode.
* Hone Claws can be used to give Mega Aerodactyl a more powerful and more accurate Stone Edge, but however it is situational and gets easily revenge killed by Choice Scarf users and priority moves.
* Thunder Fang can be used to take care of Water-types like Greninja, Tapu Fini, (AC) and Mega Gyarados, but it loses major coverage if it decides to run it.
* Taunt can also be used to shut down bulky Pokemons that rely on status moves like Skarmory, Ferrothorn, and Toxapex.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Water-types**: (colon goes outside) Bulky Water-types such as Tapu Fini, Slowbro, and Rotom-W can take a hit from Mega Aerodactyl, (RC) and strike back with a Water-type move. However, Tapu Fini can be worn down easily (? is there an "and" missing here or more) can't survive the onslaught if it switches in around 60-70% health. Other Water-type Pokemon like Manaphy, (RC) and Kingdra can survive a hit from Mega Aerodactyl and OHKO it in return, although they cannot wall Mega Aerodactyl unlike the examples listed above.

**Priority Moves**: (colon) Mega Aerodactyl is extremely vunerable to priority moves such as Greninja's Water Shuriken, Azumarill's Aqua Jet, Mega Scizor's Bullet Punch, (AC) and Mamoswine's Ice Shard. These moves can easily KO Mega Aerodactyl, (RC) and allow Greninja to transform into Ash-Greninja if it isn't transformed already.

**Bulky Ground-types**: Depending on your coverage move, Mega Aerodactyl can break through Landorus-T and Garchomp Garhcomp with Ice Fang, while Hippowdown Hippowdon has problems tanking Aqua Tail. However, if Mega Aerodactyl has the wrong you have the opposite coverage move, they can wall it Mega Aerodactyl and allow them to either set up Stealth Rock or damage it.

**Steel-types**: Depending on your coverage moves, Mega Aerodactyl struggles against Steel-types like Celesteela, Kartana, Ferrothorn, and Mega Scizor if it doesn't carry Fire Fang, while it struggles more against Mega Metagross, (RC) and Jirachi if it doesn't have Earthquake. However, due to Mega Aerodactyl's extremely good Attack and Speed, they cannot switch into it easily and must find an oppurtune opportune moment to get on the field.

When you implement p squared's GP check do this too:

[SET]
name: All-Out Attacker
move 1: Aerial Ace
move 2: Stone Edge
move 3: Ice Fang
move 4: Fire Fang / Earthquake

- Ice Fang is a must nowadays with things like Zygarde. Hippowdon usage doesn't quite justify Aqua Tail at the moment.
- Last move is expendable but either way they both work. Fire Fang covers Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn, which are two big targets, while still 2HKOing Mega Metagross on switch-ins. Earthquake deals more damage to Heatran, Tyranitar, and does slightly more versus grounded Steel-types. Also nice for more guaranteed damage against Koko and a few other threats that are weak to Earthquake and don't require gambles with hitting on Stone Edge.
- Aqua Tail in Moves for the reason of needing Ice Fang.

small nitpick but Wing Attack > Aerial Ace since it has more PP, same power and AAce never missing is useless since smogon has an evasion clause
