Rules
=====

- Standard SM LC Rules and Clauses
- Battles are in SM LC format
- Battles are to be played on Pokemon Showdown
- Standard Tournament Rules
- The battles will be best out of 3
- Each additional rule will be added each round and will only remain for one round, an example of an addition rule would be (For this round, the item: Eviolite, is banned) (eg.)
- This tournament will be a 64, 128, 256, or 512 player tournament depending on the number of people
- This tournament is part of the Smogon Championship, and the points available in this tournament will be listed below, depending on the amount of players, players will be notified from Round 1 and above how many Smogon Championship points our available

- Post your replays of your battle if you can, if you can't then you can say you either won/lost x number of games and have your partner confirm it by a like to that post
- Coinflips will be made only if the two players don't either post their battles by the due date
- Subs will be given to players in situations where their opponent forfeits or loses via inactivity only.
- If you break the rules, especially the additional rules each round in a battle, it is up to your opponent if they allow you to redo the battle or for them to take the win, although if you break the rule after your battle has started, it is the opponent's win

/!\ This is a Smogon Championship Tournament with 128 People, so for 1st place, 20 SC points will be rewarded, 2nd place gets 15 SC points, 3rd and 4th place gets 10 SC Points and 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th place gets 5 SC Points /!\

/!\ The additional rule for this round is.... You must use at least three D rank Pokemon or lower from the SM LC Viability Rankings (link) and they have to fill 3 slots in your team, you don't have to necessarily use them in battle but they have to be present in your team preview, and if they aren't then the opponent can take the win, bear in mind you only need to use 3, if you wish to use more than 3 D Rank Pokemon or lower it is up to you, but the mandatory minimum is 3 /!\

If there are any changes to the VR during this round, can we use the new mons or are the current ones locked in?

you can use the new mons that are newly ranked below D rank
On a similar tangent, if a D rank mon gets promoted before our battle occurs, would using that Pokemon no longer count towards our total of 3 D rank (or lower) Pokemon?

Why cant the viability ranking be frozen for the start of the round? This seems like an unnecessary hassle. What i mean is the viability ranking that we take into consideration is the one on the start of the round, just like other tours only take tier changes into consideration for the next round. Making a team early in the week then finding out the viability rankings changed near the time of the battle will suck if a D rank mon shifts.

I'll have to agree with Chill Shadow here because I wasn't thinking logically, although I can be said that the D Rank Pokemon wouldn't change a lot in the first place due to their less viable presence, it would be disappointed in the situation you described. So for this round and rule, the SM LC viability rankings as of now are locked for this round, meaning that the Pokemon are in D Rank and lower can be used for the 3 move slots you need in your team.
