It makes perfect sense to say that "Heatran's Fire Blast receives STAB". If smogon, like every other gaming community, has developed its own language then that has no bearing on what is and isn't correct english as far as the rest of the world is concerned.

To clarify: The example that you gave was correct, but saying something like my given example isn't. Also, I was replying to Relados's post, where he used STAB as a noun wrongly.

But ALL of those examples are incorrect English, and wording not officially used by the Pokemon company or many other pokemon websites. Using STAB as an adjective is colloquial, STAB is strictly speaking a noun and not one hard to use in a sentence "Heatran's Fire Blast receives STAB".

"Heatran's STAB move is Fire Blast" incorrectly implies that it is the only Fire type move Heatran receives While Smogon is generally concerned with only the best moves, this does not make the sentiment proper English.

@first: x.x it's smogon-official, if you want to do it, post in the spelling and grammar standards page
@second: that refers to a set that only uses fire blast x.x
