Yeah I actually started playing Samus lol. She's fun but her smash attacks make me sad...
Anyway it doesn't really matter who you play honestly, you should just play who you like. Unless you're playing at APEX level or something you can pretty much win with whoever you want, none of the characters are outright terrible.

I've been trying out Captain Falcon recently, he's a lot of fun. Got the best taunt in the game: his neutral b. And hey, every once in a while you can actually get a hit. ;)
