Don't worry about it, feel free to ask about anything. :) What I'd probably suggest is to lurk on the forums for a while and get a feel for whatever metagame you want to learn before jumping in with a post or a thread. I'd highly recommend joining the neverused room on Pokemon Showdown, playing some games, and maybe bring up Marshtomp in the chat. I think Quagsire does similar things in general; while it doesn't have the raw defensive stats that Marshtomp has with Eviolite, it can use Recover to heal itself and stick around for longer, and it can use Unaware to ignore stat boosts from opponents or Water Absorb to become immune to Water-type attacks.
